Does Macbook with intel core2 duo suffer from discolor on the handrest?

I was wondering, I have a Macbook with intel core2 duo, and was wondering if it suffers from discolouration as in the previous model with just intel core duo?

Am going to have to contradict you and say no, it
hasn't been resolved. I love my Mac almost beyond
words but after 4 weeks it was showing signs of
discolouration + I intend taking it in for a chat.
What you mean is that it's supposed to have been
resolved.
I've always maintained that the chassis and plastics on the MacBook are really poorly designed. Not saying that about the electronics, which, in my opinion, is purely elegant. By saying ''poorly designed'', I'm not attacking Apple. Just that sometimes this stuff happens.
So, my solution was to go with the flow and look for options that combat it. In my case Mareware makes a decent skin that goes where your palms go.
I'm on my second skin. The first skin was white to match the MacBook plastic. However, even though my hands are generally clean, the Mareware began staining after about four months.
So, I purchased a second skin, a BLACK skin. Kinda cool. Contrasting. And it just doesn't SHOW the staining.
Anyway, I really have enjoyed using the MacBook. Don't like the case. Apple did a great job in getting the heat issue resolved. Just the case... No biggie for me.
I love this computer.

I have an idle CPU  intel core2 duo T7600,so I am considering  buying  an AXIS 945GM to let it work.
I have a question ,does MSI Axis  945G support intel core2 duo T7600?
I checked the CPU suppot list on MSI website,I just found it suppots upto T7400.
Can I flash the new BIOS v1.23  to support T7600?
    thank you!

According to the CPU Support List, this won't help.  The best thing to do would be to contact MSI Technical Support.  Maybe they can give you a more definate answer:

The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:

You can check here what version of Flash player you actually have installed:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

  • I have a MacBook Pro that has an Intel Core Duo Processor but to upgrade to Lion OS X I need an Intel Core2 Duo. Can I upgrade?

I have a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard OS 10.6.8 but want to upgrade to Lion. My Mac that has an Intel Core Duo Processor (I know really outdated huh) but to upgrade to Lion OS X I need an Intel Core2 Duo. Can I upgrade or will it mess it up?

It actually shouldn't allow you to upgrade. Your configuration should be detected and then it should reject your attempt to upgrade.

  • I have a MacBook Pro with Intel Core Duo and Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Want to upgrade to Lion to take advantage of icloud. Is there anything I can do without getting a new MacPro?

I have a MacBook Pro with Intel Core Duo and Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Would like to upgrade to Lion but it requires a minimum of Intel Core 2 Duo. Can I get what I need or do I have to buy new MacBok Pro?

I also have a core duo MBP with Snow Leopard and it runs perfectly.  There are very few things it cannot do as compared to the faster, newer MBPs, but that is attributable to the CPU, not the OS.  There are some who view Lion as downgrade rather than as an improvement.  If there are important applications that reqire a fast CPU or Lion features that you find essential, by all means get a new MBP.
I have an aphorism:  Obsolescence is more often a perception rather than a reality.  Besides the silver keys look much classier than the black ones.
    Ciao.

    Lion (10.7.x) needs Core2Duo.

    Hi,
the Intel Core Duo processor is a 32-bit only processor and not capable of 64-bit.
Only the Core 2 Duo and later processors are capable of 64-bit.
    Sorry

Which iMac?  Which Macbook?   Both have had several model
itertations, even within the framework of a Core2Duo processor.
With that said, I have an early 2009 iMac 24", with 2.66 GHz
Core2Duo with 8 gig of RAM, and in my opinion, seems to be running
    smoother and faster with Lion.

I have been told my machine is now "vintage or obsolete" and can't be upgraded to the newest OS software.

The maximum OS for that iMac is 10.6.8.

And there is no reason to remove the battery since there is that little button you can push to clear the CMOS.
you might be amazed on how many times pushing the button it's just not enough.

I doubt I would be writing you from this machine if I had flashed it with the BIOS for the wrong board
no offense but how should i know that you don't have one more comp at home.
what was the previous problem you had with the mobo for which you needed a BIOS update?
edit: just remembered something. what PSU do you have?

  • Systeme 9 and Classic environnement on Macbook with Intel

Is somebody can tell me if I can run something from the classic environnement with my new Macbook with Intel proc. I read that it's impossible. Can I do something? I need a to run some things from OS9 and classic Thanks

you can emulate a classic environment with this:
    http://www.gibix.net/dokuwiki/en:projects:sheepshaver
I have never used it myself, but it says you will need a copy of macOS classic for it to work.
There is no way in intel OSX to run classic applications...

  • I purchased snow leopard and got a disk with OSX 10.6.3 but my macbook with intel processor and 1 gig won't update.  It restarts but doesn't update after disk installs

I purchased snow leopard from online macstore in Australia and got a disk with OSX 10.6.3 but my macbook with intel processor and 1 gig won't update from 10.5.8.  It restarts but doesn't update after disk installs.  Do I need 10.6.0 to install first?

Insert the Snow Leopard DVD, restart your MacBook while holding down the C key, this should start your Mac from the optical drive instead of your hard drive. Choose your language and install Snow Leopard. When it's done and you've restarted on your new 10.6.3 system run software update to upgrade to 10.6.8. Done.

  • Wireless N upgrade for Macbook pro Intel Core Duo (Purchased 8/2006)???

Firstly, I am a little angered that apple has not come out with any directly supported options to allow people with my macbook pro to upgrade to the new wireless N capability.
Therefore I have found a 3rd party option that is being offered by fastmac (http://fastmac.com/ncard.php) that will allow for wireless N wifi.
My only concern is if having this installed (professionally by them or by an authorized reseller, say compusa) would cause my entire applecare warranty to be voided or just the part that covers the wireless card. I could deal with having the wireless card voided as it would be under warranty by fast mac...
Macbook pro intel core duo   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Your warranty is not voided by installing the Airport card. However, any damage that may be caused by the installation of the card would not be covered under the warranty.
Secondly, the Airport Extreme card that supports 802.11n is available as an upgrade kit for Mac Pros. Some Apple dealers may be able to obtain and install the card for you in your computer.

    Back up all data.
Quit Safari. In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then launch Safari and test.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Which O/S upgrade is recommended for a MAC Book Pro17 with Intel Core Duo 2.16 GHz
    I am using os x 10.4.11.
Do I need to upgrade to 10.5.xx? Will this platform suport 10.6.xx? If 10.6 will work do I need to install 10.5 first?
    Thanks...

Hi. Your computer can be upgraded to either Leopard 10.5 or Snow Leopard 10.6. 10.6 will be much easier to find and will be less expensive. Leopard is not required prior to upgrading to Snow Leopard.
