Does maverick support iPhoto 08

I recently downloaded Mavericks and it now seems that I cant access iPhoto.  I have an old version i
Photo 08 version 7.1.5..  Is this my problem?  I guess I will have a problem with iMovie 08 as well (version 7.1.4). I had previously purchased Snow Leopard upgrading from the Leopard which came with my iMac way back in 2007.
Is the only option to purchase the latest i Photo?   Will I then be able to access my photos?
Thanks in advance

When I right click on iPhoto I get a pop up box - see below - with iPhoto library, i Photo (ticked),options. show all windows, hide and quit. I cant open i Photo,
I cant open iPhoto library nor can I open it in Finder
I have time machine on regular backup but cant get anything to show in iPhoto except the library stating the number of GB

  • Does Mavericks support  the LSILogic LSI7404EP?

    Hello again,
I've got an Xserve early 2009 running OS X Server 10.5.8 that I've been told is upgradeable to Mavericks.
It has a Promise VTrak E-Class 16 x SATA RAID Subsystem that attaches to it via the LSILogic LSI7404EP and is running Firmware version 1.3.23.0
If I upgrade to Mavericks, will I still be able to see the RAID?
All I want is to utilise the raid for archiving, but I need it updated to work with the newest iMacs.
    Cheers,
    -Mark

Ah, yes.  I was burned by the demise of Final Cut Server also.  You could not beat the price and the feature set was decent.
As for the GPU, you have two PCI Express expansion slots.  One full height and one half height.  So, you can add a discreet graphics card to the unit.  As far as I know there is no replacement for the built in card.  That GForce is as far as it goes.  Also, I don't recall there being many options that work in the slots as I do not believe there is the optional power cable to support the newest of cards.  You can take a look at some of the cards that were offered in the MacPro from around the same time but be careful what you purchase.  I think there are crazy solutions like external PCI cases that can provide faster graphics but I am not sure you want to invest in a machine of such age.
    Good luck.

  • Does Mavericks support lightscribe?

I used to print label with Disc Cover 3 and a Lacie external lightscribe CD/DVD drive with snow leopard.
Since I upgraded to Mavericks Dic Cover doesn't see my lightscribe drive aymore?
I couldn't find any new driver for mac os available yet.
Do you know if Mavericks still supports lightscribe and if drivers are available?
    Thanks and regards,
    Valerio

It would seem Lacie stopped supporting Lightscribe a long time ago - circa 2009.
    See http://www.lacie.com/uk/support/drivers/index.htm?id=10008
Therefore it looks like you are not going to find any Mavericks compatible software. If you have an older iMac which can boot in to Snow Leopard then an option would be to have an additional boot disk setup for Snow Leopard with the old LightScribe software.
You could also read the following and try the software it referrs to.
    See http://www.tuaw.com/2013/06/24/lightscribe-software-for-optical-disc-labels-fina lly-updated/
The following might also be a suitable replacement for Disc Cover, it claims to support LightScribe and Mavericks

  • Does Mavericks support FCP 7?

    Hi there,
I had FCP 7 (FCP 5 with FCP 7 upgrade pack) and I'm near to needing a hardware upgrade, so just want to see what the state of play is on my accompanying software.
    Appreciate any advice/support.

  • Photos does not support external editing like iPhoto. Is there likely to be an upgrade to change this or will I abandon Photos for software that does support editing in Photoshop?

Photos does not support external editing like iPhoto. Is there likely to be an upgrade to change this or will I abandon Photos for software that does support editing in Photoshop?

iPhoto does work and there is an upgrade:
Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4928
One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

  • I run a studio in Atlanta.  I am doing an upgrade to Protools 11.  Avid does not support Yosemite.  Mavericks is no where to be found on App store.  Had to purchase Mountain Lion.  I am losing money waiting on Apple to "ship" / email me a activation

I run a studio here in Atlanta.  YEster day morning I called an Apple store to see if I could buy a copy of Mavericks.  They forwarded me to Apple Care.  Apple Care tech and myself could not find Mavericks anywhere on the app store.  Avid does not support Yosemiteam yet, so I had no other choice but to purchase Mountain Lion.  It has been over 24 hours waI ting on Apple to "ship" / email me a code to download from the app store.  I read a lot of horror stories from when they rolled out Mountain Lion in 2012 about it taking 72 hours to receive the codes.  I hope that maybe it doesn't take that l9ng this time because I am losing money by the minute.  Microsoft would have had a code to me in minutes.  This is just crazy.  I have used Apple products for years, but this is very disappointing.  Anyone else ordered Mountain Lion recently?  How long dI'd it take Apple to "ship" you your code via email?  Thanks

From what I've read on these forums over the past few months, it hasn't gotten any better. An electronic order from any company shouldn't take more than 12 hours for a system to respond to, but people have been waiting up to a week for their redemption code email to arrive. It makes no sense to me why it would take that long.

  • Since upgrading to Maverick my iPhoto does not consistently download my Nikon or my Canon camera photos.

Since upgrading to Maverick my iPhoto does not consistently download my Nikon or my Canon camera photos. Occasionally it will recognize and download photos, most of the time though it hangs in "loading" mode with nothing downloaded. I've unplugged, replugged numerous times, tried a different USB port, tried the two cameras so it's not the camera or line that's the issue, turned the computer off, turned iphoto off, turned everything else off and stil nothing. I need my photos for my work and can't get to them, this seems to be an issue with Maverick AGAIN!!! Is there a fix? HELP! Thanks!

    iPhoto Version 9.5.1
Thank you for your help Terence. I had 140 photos on my Nikon, none were viewable in iphoto, in Image Capture 5 were viewable, 135 weren't. I tried importing one to my desktop but it remained static and didn't move over. I just deleted all the photos on my camera, took a fresh photo and after waiting a good 4 minutes finally uploaded to both iphoto and Image Capture. As this took so long for one photo I'm wondering if the memory in my computer would impact the speed. I have 350GB used and 150GB left
By reformat the cards do you mean the flash card in the camera? I don't know how to do that, it's less that 6 months old.

  • Mavericks Server; smbd: File system does not support 0x0, time/size attrs

So I recently installed a Mac Mini with Mavericks and Server 3.2.2 in the main office of my company and everything has been going well, minus a few expected bugs, until recently. Starting last week we've been experiencing random intervals where File Sharing stopped working altogether, and I'd been able to reboot and get it running again. Unfortunately, as I'm the Systems and Server Admin, I've been too busy to look at the logs until now (following the degradation of one of the drives in our DAT-Optic RAID system, I figured it was time to make it a priority), and I'm seeing dozens of entries in the system logs regarding the process smbd with file system does not support errors.

As far as I can tell, nothing else has changed in our system except for the fact that one of the drives died and was rebuilt as of yesterday (these smbd problems extend to last week shortly after I updated to 3.2.2 I believe). Any help would be much appreciated. I would normally first attempt a repair permissions to see if the issue is related to a bad plist somewhere but the last time we did that, our ACLs were duplicated across our file share and often incorrectly. I'm not sure if it's just me but the last Mac Server software I used was Snow Leopard Server (when it was still a full OS version) and it was infinitely more stable than what I've experienced thus far with Server 3. Anyway, I appreciate any help/advice that can be given and I apologize for the rant.

Been getting the same errors for a while.

Believe they are related to random disconnects from the file server (10.9.5).

  • Okay, just tell me now that Mavericks does not support iMovie 6 HD which I have migrated across my devices since it first came out as iMovie 4. If this is true, then I will just jump off the nearest bridge, as I use it as a business.

Okay, just tell me now that Mavericks does not support iMovie 6 HD which I have migrated across my devices since it first came out as iMovie 4 and have supplemented with third party add ons from 3Gee. If this is true, then I will just jump off the nearest bridge, as I use it for my videography business. Since upgrading to Mav, I can not get the program to launch and am getting no pop up to tell me what is going on. It let me open and start a project at first, but then I was half way through and it crashed and I lost everything and now will not launch at all. Does anyone out there still use this magnificent program? Please help—the wedding I just commissioned is on hold and I am not want looking forward to facing a bridezilla.

right now just to get yer work done, get ahold of any OS that will run iM6HD and get it done. then dump MAVRICKS (wait till 10.9.2 at least) and retro back to OSX 10.6..or 10.7 (if you have it). I use FCExpress4 on 10.6....you might want to consider keeping a dedicated mini or something that ONLY runs your editing sw. I have 2 older machines that I will never upgrade because the editing SW wont run on the newwer OSs.
abuve all, be honest with your client. we all got kind of blindsided by this initial relese (like a bug infested matress).
ask if they have any apple stuff that has Mavricks probs. bridzillas only happen when they are out of the loop. Keep them informed. but ...also be ready to duck.
    hope this helps.

    Hi,
It seems iPhoto does not support Canon Powershot S45 RAW file format. Can this be added to be supported!?
Does anyone know how to report this to Apple and request this as a feature enhancement?

Word Processing documents can be opened directly in Pages 4 (AppleWorks 6 only) but this is no longer available from Apple - the new Pages 5 (Mavericks required) does not open AppleWorks documents. (The older version is contained in the iWork '09 box set which may still be available from Amazon and other independent retailers.) Panergy Software's docXConverter v3.2 ($19.95) can convert Appleworks 5 and 6 Word Processing documents to RTF (though it has been reported that it can only handle documents which contain only text, not those which include images or frames). The latest version of the free LibreOffice has announced that it can open AppleWorks 6 Word Processing documents and an ability to open ClarisWorks documents has been reported: it does appear to be able to handle at least some embedded images.
Draw Documents can be opened directly only in EazyDraw (the more expensive version from their website, not the cheaper one from the Mac App Store, and you will need v4.0 'Retro' not the most recent version) or Intaglio (though this appears not to be able to handle very complex drawings). LibreOffice will open simple Draw documents but I found it very unreliable with complex ones.
Spreadsheets can be opened directly only in the older versions of  Numbers - the new version for Mavericks will not do this. The old version is no longer available from Apple. (Again, the older version is contained in the iWork '09 box set which may still be available from Amazon and other independent retailers.)
Presentations can be opened directly only in the older versions Keynote; again, the new version for Mavericks will not do this. The old version is no longer available from Apple. (The older version is contained in the iWork '09 box set which may still be available from Amazon and other independent retailers.)
Nothing will open Database documents. You would need to export the data as ASCII and import it into another database program; you will lose your formatting and calculations will come over as the result, not the calculation.

iphoto does not support the resolution of my dslr camera...how do i upload full resolution photos?

You actually need to give information to get help - just stating an abstract problems (which is most certainly not a problem at all) gives the volunteers hearer nothing to work with to help you
What version of iPhoto? Of the OS? What exactly is the problem (iPhoto does support the resolution of your camera so that is NOT a problem)? what exactly are you doing? What error messages do you get? why do you incorrectly think that iPhoto does not support full resolution?
At this time your question is like my car won't start - why not? Could be anything from you did not put the key jun to being out of gas to having the engine stolen - no way to tell anything - except that the problem you claim is not true (at least in my example I would know that the car did not start)
