Does Media Player keep downloads?

Sorry for the newbie question. I was wondering if I downloaded videos from Adobe TV (like the tutorials) with Adobe Media Player, will it keep the downloads so that I could reference them again and again? Or do they poof after I watch it? Thanks!!

Hi,
Yes, it works. but it isn't available for Windows RT 8.1 and  Windows RT.

Why does my emails keep downloading after deleting them?

It sounds like you may be "synced" to an IMAP email server with your ISP.  You would need to go into Mail>Preferences and set the messages to be removed from the IMAP server after some period of time so they don't redownload to your computer.  That's one possiblility.  Another is if you are synced with iCloud, then the mail is stored on your iCloud server backup and will redownload until you remove it.
    Hope this helps

  • Vista with Creative Media Player keeps stoping during transfers to my Zen To

After my old computer crashed I purchased a new computer with Vista and like many others I went through the process of updating the firmware on my Zen Touch on another computer with XP and Windows MediaPlayer 0. I followed all the steps, including updating to the latest Creative Media OrginazerPlayer(5) and Play for Sure updates. Of course I lost all my music on the ZenTouch but I had my music saved on a external hard dri've. I loaded all the songs to my new computer and added them to the library for the Creative Media Player. Next step was to add them back to my Zen Touch. Becasue I had so many specialized playlists this process was going to take forever and would have to add songs one at a time. Everything was working great at first. I had no problems with Vista recoginizing everything and it all seem to function well. As I started to transfer songs to Zen Touch everything also went fine at first. Once I got through a few hundred songs the Media Player keeps stoping (atleast that's what the window that pops up says). I can sometimes go on later and transfer a few more songs but only a few and then it stops again and again and again. The ZenTouch is fully charged and being detected so the answers I've seen posted don't help. I've done so much to get everything to work and now this.... I running out of patience. I really don't want to start over or use the Windows Media Player if I don't have to since I've created so many playlists on the Creative Media program.Any suggestions out there on how to solve the problem of the constant stopage of the Creative Media Organizer when transfering songs to my Zen Touch Sorry for the long post- just wanted to cover the fact of what I've done already so there won't be any reiteration of suggestions.Message Edited by mattkaetzel on 0-03-20082: AM

Older Creative HDD-based players with special drivers (PDE), such as the Jukebox Zen,?were not supported past Windows XP. [url="http://mrinternet.wordpress.com/2007/03/0/creative-zen-nx-and-vista-working-together-finally/" rel="nofollow">This site[/url]?(thanks coachop94) describes someone's effort to get PDE drivers to work in Vista; try at your own risk. If that doesn't work, you'll have to transfer your files off the Jukebox Zen using an older computer (XP or earlier).
Also, if you have MediaSource 5 you should also have installed the appropriate plug-in from the Jukebox Zen support page.

  • Windows Media Player keeping Automatic Maintenance window/Windows Updates from doing auto-restart

I have a system that is connected to a domain, and it runs a video playlist in Windows Media Player for digital signage upon bootup (and auto-login).  WMP is set to loop the videos over and over again, but it also is preventing automatic updates from
installing and/or auto-restarting at 3:00AM in the morning (and yes, the system power management is set to keep the computer on all the time).
    How can I fix this?
I have a GPO set up to install updates and restart automatically (option 4).  I tried the GPO option to use the Windows 8 maintenance window to install updates, and also tried turning that option off and just using a 3:00AM restart period.  Neither
option seems to work, so it looks like Windows Media Player is preventing an auto-restart to finish the update installation.  Is there any way around this, so that Windows Media Player doesn't stop Windows Updates from doing its job?  I don't care
if that means the video stops playing because it just starts up again on the next bootup.
I looked at the WMP GPO's and the only option that sounds like it's related is the option to turn on or off the auto-updating of media info for WMP, but it has nothing to do with what I'm trying to accomplish.  If I missed something, let me know.
If there is some other way to accomplish this, such as associating and launching the playlist file with the Xbox Videos app, I would be fine with that, but I need it to loop the playlist continually (I also use the Shuffle option
in WMP - ***see note below for another question).  I still want the system to automatically install updates and reboot on a regular schedule despite the video playing in the foreground.
***Side question: is there any way to turn Repeat and Shuffle options on in WMP without having to load the GUI (for scripting a playlist)?
Just FYI: this system is actually using Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Enterprise (from a MAPS account), but it isn't customized aside from not having the standard WinRT apps from a stock Win 8.1 install loaded - it is a stock install from the ISO.
From what I understand, it is the same as Windows 8.1 Enterprise, except that it is only licensed to be used as an "appliance" machine for a single role - which it is.  So I'm assuming that there are no actual differences from a "regular"
Windows 8.1 SKU that would cause this issue.  If I am completely mistaken about this, please notify me on it.  The reason I'm making this statement is in case there are any differences in Embedded 8.1 Industry Enterprise that I am not aware of.
Otherwise, I welcome any assistance that would target a "regular" version of 8.1 Enterprise.  NOTE:  Someone said to post this into the Windows Embedded forum, but the only one that exists is the one for POSready - and this is HARDLY the
POSready version of Windows Embedded that I'm using.

    Hi,
Did you use the policy Local Computer Policy\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update\Always automatically restart at the scheduled time?
I noticed an description "restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations" policy is enabled, then this policy has no effect." it means if system installed some updates which unneeds restart computer, this policy would has no effect.
In my opinion, your problem should not caused by WMP setting. please check your installed updates whether they need restart computer.
In addition, Power Managment in Control Panel also can prevent the schedule task running.
    Control Panel\System and Security\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings\Change advanced power settings\Sleep\Allow wake timers
Please make sure this option is enable.

  • Does Media Player cache http streams locally?

    Hi,
I am developing a secure video playback system. I am planning to load encrypted data, decrypt it and present it from a http server. This would be read by the media player using http progressive download. The security is lost if the media player stores the stream locally. Any help on finding out where the media player might store data if it does? If I use rtsp, will it solve the problem?
    Regards,
    Arun

On my Linux system, I played a JavaFX program designed to read media from http. Then I used the command line to print a list of all file descriptors in use. None of the file descriptors being used by the JavaFX program looked caching related, but I am honestly not sure whether or not it does in fact cache.
Since the documentation doesn't say anything, whether or not it caches and how it does so may very well be OS specific. As such, figuring out whether there even IS a problem, let alone how to solve it would be very tricky.
Even if it does cache, you'll still be about as safe as it gets. The vast majority of the population won't have a clue how to steal your video.
As for hackers, they probably have better things to do with their time and there isn't much you can do to stop them (short of not placing the film online in the first place of course!). Even if a hacker can't find a video cache, they could still decompile your program to figure out where the media is being downloaded, which would make the caching issue irrelevant. And even if you made it difficult to read the URL from a decompiler, there is nothing you can do to prevent them from just filming the screen.

  • Downloading stuffit expander for windows media player 9 download

I want to download windows media player 9 to my mac mini b/c a lot of the emial files i get are .wmv not .wav files and of course Quicktime Player does not support .wmv files. So of course i need window media player but in order to download windows media player, i have to download stuffit expander to expand the files. But i am having issues with stuffit downloading to my computer. It is saying "mouting failed". Can someone please help me out??? It would be greatly appreciated.

I'm very new, but installed Stuffit just a few days ago without issue. Since no one else has jumped in, all I can offer are my guesses, but I guess that's more than you've got so far:
If you do a "Get Info" in the desktop, are the "Ownership and Permissions" (click the "details" arrow below it) such that you have read and write permissions to the desktop? Also, by now, if you haven't tried re-downloading it, I'd do that. My StuffitEXP10.dmg file is: 8,665,578 bytes in size for reference. Hope you get it squared away.

  • WD TV Live HD media player keeps crashing when trying to play a recent *.mvk movie

I am new to this community and I would like some help with the following issue please?
I have a WD TV LiveHD media player with the following details:
    Firmware version     1.06.43_V
    P/N                              WDAAP0000NBK-00
    S/N                              [Deleted]
I use this device as a standalone media player; connected to an WD external HD via USB cable and connected to a Sony TV with a HDMI cable.
Recently I have downloaded some new movies (.mkv extension). When I navigate to the folder and select the file to play; it tries to play it, displays information of the length of the movie in hours, minutes and seconds and simultaneously crashes. It does reboot again after couple of minutes; however any additional attempt will result in the same outcome. Device has no problems with the old files (i.e. movies from 2014).
I have performed a hard reset, deleted the .wdtv folder, etc. with no luck...
    Thank you all in advance.

...how do you explain the fact that the very same file is played by Nero on my laptop without any problems? That's kinda an odd question -- apparently Nero supports the file.  Are you assuming that anything you can play on your PC should be playable on a hardware based media player where the codecs are burned onto silicon (not software)? Let's skip to the meat of the issue.  Please post the full TEXT output of MEDIAINFO for such a file.

  • PC Synch and Windows Media player keep failing

    Hi,
The WMP/PC Synch driver keeps failing, I have to keep de-installing in Device Manager/Portable devices/Nokia 5310 Express Music (says ""the device is not working properly") and then reboot, even then it only works about 1 in 6 times and even when it does finally work it falls over normally during music upload (fails on USB and failing on Blue tooth).
I swapped the phone (courtesy of T-Mobile) but the 2nd one still fails, I tested on my Vista Notebook (still fails)
I have spent hours looking for a fix for this on line(but no joy).
I have WMP 11 and Windows Vista, I have a 5310, sync works fine (lie a dream) in Outlook, file transfer, and messages etc, but in Windows Media player it's a nightmare, I have reinstalled the driver 5 or 6 times (latest version from the Nokia web site) the PC is pretty new and clean, I have a creative MP3 player which work fine.
I get some very strange old 16bit Nokia error messages when it does fail (Vista jumps into compatibility mode)
I've come to the conclusion that this can only be caused by Nokia's PC Synch software, VERY FRUSTRATING ! Even though I love the phone,
    Happy to supply screens/messages etc
    Any help, pleaseeeee !

Here is one of the error messages (when it fails)
"Windows Driver Foundation: User Mode Driver Framework Host process stopped working and was closed"

  • Windows Media Player keeps stopping

    Hi,
I probably am in the wrong forum for this so, if someone can first move this to the appropriate forum, I'd be pleased.
Anyways, my Windows Media Player constantly stops whenever I play a movie through the CD Rom Drive and I'd like this issue resolved. I haven't uploaded or installed any files that would cause this problem. I believe I have Windows Media Player 11 (my laptop
is a Windows Vista if that helps). How do I permanently prevent it from stopping whenever I play a DVD on my laptop? Thanks.

    Hi,
I suggest you run the Media Player Settings
    troubleshooter and check.
Open the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-the-Windows-Media-Player-Settings-troubleshooter
    Please login with
    Clean Boot
to see if the same issue occurs.
    If the issue persists,
1: Run System File Checker (SFC) scan.
SFC scan will make Windows replace corrupt or missing system files on your computer.
    a. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.
    b. Click Continue or supply Administrator credentials if prompted.
    c. In the Command Prompt window type the following, and press Enter:
    sfc /scannow
Step 2:  Disable and re-enable Media Player.
    a. Click on start and then go to Control panel.
    b. Now click on programs and features.
    c. Then click on “Turn Windows features on or off”.
    d. Expand Media features.
    e. Uncheck Media Player.
    f. Restart the computer.
To re-enable Media Player, follow the same steps and place a check mark next to Media Player in Windows features and restart the computer.
    Hope that helps.
