hi guys im chris from the uk anybody using the vox box can connect it to a freeview digital receiver and get great results
i have just done so,tho i know the hole idea was to use the unit for lap tops it works great via the digital box!! the only fault is the lip synk is very slightly out!! im set up on a standard home comp system with a 250 gb hd so i can record to hard drive obviously im connected via composite lead not via the co-ax im very impressed by the unit now,tho through the standard co ax the system was quite poor oh! one problem with recording i found was if you dont have enough hard drive space it will crash your system to the blue screen of death!! also the system drags a bit when using other applications when the unit is running!! my next project is to send the signal via a video sender wireless unit to my main tv ,will let u know how that goes
chris ps nice site stu thanx for all the usefull info ,not tried your update yet as the system is working fine,i guess im one of the lucky ones

  • MSIPVS+MSI-Vox USB2 TV Tuner = No Closed Caption(CC) support

I bought the MSI Vox. Everythign installs fine.. TV is fine - But when you try to turn on closed caption on NTSC signals - Nothing!   No Closed captioning. I kept a TV next to the computer (Your std. 13" NTSC) and CC is fine on the channel.  I wonder if there is any workaround. I need CC to work. Anyone have any ideas - please post reply. Thx in advance AP

Try using some other progs and see if you can get any CC as it migth not be a hard problem .. Just MSIPVS being it`s usual self.

  • Does MSI Wind Box DE220 support wake on lan?

I have searched and contacted resellers but have not yet found any evidence that the MSI Wind Box DE220 support wake on lan.
Can someone here please confirm if it does or if it does not?
    Thanks in advance!

You could wait a long time for an answer here, or you could try asking MSI directly:
    >>How to contact MSI.<<
Generally, people come here looking for answers to problems. Once they get their answer, unfortunately many never come back. As the Wind Box DE220 is not a very common product, not many people have come here regarding it.
None of the forum staff here work for MSI, and none of us have this item readily at hand to test for you, sorry.
I'm pretty sure it should be possible though; modern mainboards typically don't have a specific 'Wake-On-LAN' option, as it is controlled by the operating system, as Bas states already, it is configured through the LAN device's properties in Device Manager.

  • MSI VOX USB2.0

I have purchased this nifty little piece of equipment and really enjoying the picture etc from it. I have one question and it might take a while to explain it.
I can only view the channel that is currently on my television while using my Tuner Box, am i missing something? I know you can do the channel surfing  etc i am wondering if someone can help me. I get an absolutely cracking picture from the box itself and i would like to now go on to learn how to use the Scheduling and surfing features to really start recording material.
I would be most grateful if someone could go through how they are setup i.e. in the Setup option from the panel, so i could maybe copy it to see if i could have any success.
Any help much appreciated, P.S. I am in the UK on PAL_B.

i downloaded the manual for the Vox before, and there wasn't much info with it. if there are no instructions for MSIPVS with your Vox, then i recommend you visit this link http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/download/dld/spt_dld_detail.php?UID=460&kind=10 and download the TV@nywhere Master manual ("TV Series 4.0"), which contains full instructions for using MSIPVS

  • Why does MSI P4N have no support for Intel Preslor and Asus Nforce 4 does??

Well as you've probably guessed it im new to the forums (howdy all  ). I currently own a MSI P4N diamond motherboard and quite frankly i most dissapointed with what has been called (by too many reviewers) a great board.
First off i see very little changes taking place with each bios update, of which does not seem to happen regularly at all. (lets face it no board is perfect especially the Nforce 4 range from MSI for Intel CPU's).
Secondly overclocking a Pentium D 830, which i may add should be capable of overclocking very well on an Intel Nforce board, can barley reach 3.4 Ghz (i know its mobo issue as the CPU is water cooled and overclocks to way beyond 3.7 on an 955X board).
Thirdly the North bridge fan was poorly stuck on my motherboard in that on installing my motherboard into my case it popped off like the lid of a pringles tub by a slight movement of my hand  .
And last but least... why does the MSI P4N diamond motherboard not support Intels latest 65nm CPU's when ASUS's and Gigabyte's Nforce 4 motherboards work well with the Pentium D and the 65nm range of Intel CPU's. Upon also reading about the next gen of Intel CPU's the Conroe, the 975X motherboards will support the future CPU via a bios update and it has been said that the same is likely to happen for the Nforce 4 range... however once again due to the lack of support for the MSI P4N diamond by MSI i believe all of us owners of this pathetic (an over statement really but its going to be that way if MSI keeps this up) over hyped motherboard will get a simple NO in the CPU support table for the next gen range of CPU's.

Where did you get the information regarding the MSI P4N diamond's release date?
Are you in the United Kingdom? As it was released at the same time as the other Nforce 4 boards here (i was on the edge of my seat waiting for the Nforce boards to be released on overclockers.co.uk for sale) In the end though i bought my mothreboard in October, which is a good few weeks after release.
Is there any kind of SLI 32 on MSI's plans? this is what worries me as they have made a move in the 975X department but have not made any further developmentes in the Nforce range for Intel, which to the average joe kind of indicates loss of intrest in this field from the company.
I am overall pleased with my motherboard, when using a single core CPU, as overclocking was a sheer joy, but as soon as the dual core CPU went in the mothreboard behaves like a drunk man coming from a pub. I am aware that the Nforce 4 chipsets struggle with the dual core CPU's but surely Nvidia were informed by Intel about the dual core CPU's being released in the future.

  • MSI vox usb2.0 framerate problem

    Hi.
I'm having a problem with my external USB2.0 tuner box.
Right after i have installed the driver, it works nicely, and i get ~25fps on the tv (the CPU load is 40%), but when i do anything (like change the video input), the framerate goes down to ~12fps (and the CPUload down to 20%). Now the fps stays there, and its not nice to look at tv with 12fps. If i use the built-in video-recording function in InterVideo MSIPVS, and start recording, the framerate goes back up to 25 again!! But that's only while recording, cos when i stop recording, it drops down to 12.
    What the heck?
    Can someone help me?

  • Does MSI R7670 (MS-V253) support 2560x1600 resolution?

I have just bought a Medion PC - model Akoya P4210 D (MD 8370). According to the specifications, it is equipped with AMD Dual Graphics - ATI/AMD Radeon HD 7560D + ATI/AMD Radeon HD 7670. But after running HWiNFO64 it turned out that the 7670 video card is produced by MSI, with chipset from AMD.
The problem is that I cannot set the resolution higher than 1920x1080. I have tried connecting a Samsung 27" as well as a Dell 30" monitor by using a Dual Link DVI-D cable. So now I suspect that the card doesn't support the high resolution.
    Details from HWiNFO64:
    Video chipset
Video Chipset: ATI/AMD Radeon HD 7670 (TURKS)
Video Memory: 1024 MBytes of GDDR5 SDRAM

  • Reso probs with MSI VOX USB2.0 BOX

    Well well...
Basicly my problem is that I cant record well with the vox box. I try to record my pc desktop with it thru a s-video cable but I cant change the resolution higher from 480*576 with the only propper Color format/compression YUY2. When i try to set a higher reso iuVCR gives the following error; Unable to set selected format! and other recording progs give a samekind error.
I've reinstalled the drivers over 20 times(latest version), tried different recording proggies and etc I have also tried it in my other computer but same prob.
I am also using the external powersupply which came with the vox to make sure its getting enough power...
Still I cant record with a decent resolution/quality...I'd appriciate any tips&tricks to make this work
PS. sorry for my poor english

because your tuner is "software driven" and your computer is handling the encoding and rendering of the video output, and to do that it requires suitable codecs. if the software is trying to use an incompatible or corrupted codec, then you won't get any video output
unfortunately thats the only place to start. add them one by one, until you find out the one thats causing the problem. from my experience, too many codecs spoil the video viewing, K-Lite has pretty much all the codecs you'll ever need
Well that wasnt the problem I tried the capture on another computer that doesnt have any codec packs installed.
sjfm might be right...This doesnt appear to be a software problem...
    Oh well I think I have to buy a new tv-card :/

  • MSI VOX USB2 TV card

I'm thinking of buying the above TV card, as my hauppage card keeps locking up on my KT4AV VIA Kt400A chipset motherboard.
Can someone tell me what the picture quality is like please. Do you think it is comparable to the Hauppage WinTV Go card?
    Many thanks

It's strange that you are having problems with your USB TV Cards.
The only possiblilty I can think of is that there's an issue with
the USB port on the A60 series maybe it's unable to deliver the
    required data rate.
I'm buying a CameraMate VideoSafe USB capture box this weekend I
hope it wont be suffering similar problems as it would probably
push my laptop to it's limit much like your USB TV cards.

  • Does MSI 845PE Max supports LBA

In fact all is in the title... Does MSI 845PE MAX (6580) supports for LBA drive?

Yes, as you need to have the patch incorporated in order to recognize the total drive to start with. There is some info here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;305098

  • Vox USB2.0 TV-tuner: bad picture, no sound, external power needed?

    Product: MSI Vox USB2.0 TV-tuner
    Part No: G52-V2TVX04
    Bought: http://www.komplett.no
    Location: Oslo, Norway (PAL TV-system)
    Hardware: IBM Thinkpad T40 (laptop)
    Software: Windows XP Pro
    Problem description:
The picture has weird (almost pulsating) colors, and there is no sound. Does not help if I change the PAL-standard to something else. I want to see if it helps with an power adapter but I need to know the voltage required.

I gave up on the Vox and decided to buy a Hauppauge PVR-350 instead. Unfortunately the PVR-350 also has some flaws (looks like many boards have a design-flaw that gives crappy sound and picturesound latency). After reading on a Hauppauge-forum that I was not the only one I returned the board and got a Hauppauge PVR-250 instead, which reportedly works much better. I can confirm that it did :-)
I now use it for all my tv watching and recording, and since it's even supported by MythTV I'm going to use this card for my homebuildt PVR.

  • VOX USB2.0 has no TV picture on Radeon 9100

Expecting that MSI VOX USB2.0 TV tuner will be great solution for me (easy to exchange between PC and notebook) I was surprised founding that it can't work on my PC with on-board Radeon 9100 graphics (9100 IGP chipset on Asus P4R800-VM motherboard). MSIPVS gets available channels regularly but there is no picture, some time I got some audio and that is all. Noting can solve my problem; I have replaced all the drivers (Vox and Ati) with latest but without results.
    Please help. Any suggestions?

  • VOX USB2.0 TV BOX Pixelated TV picture

I am  runing Windows XP SP1A, Direct X9 ( not b yet) and VOX USB2.0 TV BOX .
Everything is fine EXCEPT the TV picture is very pixelated.
I have downloaded and installed all new drivers for Tv Tuner and graphics card etc.. but makes no difference.
I know it can be better than this because when I first installed it it was really good.  Then I have had to reload the PC and since then a pixelated TV image.
Any helpful suggestions very much appreciated.

Everything is fine with my card as well except that the framerate drops down to 12FPS after the first run. (The first time after i install the drivers i get 24FPS)
