Does my board support FSB 800 Cpus?

Hi!
I have a MSI-845PE Max-L Mainboard (supports FSB 533Cpus).
Can it support the new FSB 800 CPUs? Will there be a BIOS-update?
I can't imagine, the Heatsink without an active fan can cool the nb @ such a high FSB!!!

None of the 845 based chip sets were originally designed to support 800mhz fsb.  Some board makers have found they can overclock certain versions of that chip set to run at 800mhz.  Even if the mobo maker sells it as a 800mhz board it is still overclocked.  The new 875 chip set is designed to run at 800 mhz and as such should prove to be more stable.  Also if you have an 845 series chip set running at 800 mhz it is already overclocked to the max so there is little or no room for additional overclocking.  The new 875 chip set should have plenty of additional room for overclocking since it is only running at spec when at 800 mhz.

  • Dose MS-7258 BIOS support FSB-800(400MHZ) DDR2 ?

    Hi
    I use MS-7258 Neo-V motherboard with the latest BIOS version 3.9 (AWARD) and 4G DDR2 FSB-800(400MHz).
The BIOS only recognizes 3G of RAM.
Sometime ago I used CPU-Z program and found out  that the operating frequency of DRAM is only 266MHZ !!!
The SPD of DRAM indicates support for 200-266-400 MHZ frequencies ,and motherboard manual specifies support for DRAM 400-533 MHZ ,
also in BIOS we can set the frequency of DRAM to one of 200-266-auto,
the question is that why when I set the BIOS to detect the frequency of DRAM automatically (auto option) ,it selects the lowest freqency to operate (instead of highest possible frequency) ?
    Thanks

CPU-Z shows the real memory frequency.  DDR stands for "Double Data Rate" (two transactions per clock cycle), which means that 266 MHz effectively translates to DDR2-533.

    Yes:
    DDR2-400 (real frequency = 200 MHz)
    DDR2-533 (real frequency = 266 MHz)

It has selected DDR2-533 (266 MHz) because that is the highest clock speed the memory controller of the VIA Chipset natively supports.

Even though you may have DDR2-800 (400 MHz) modules, that does not mean you can operate them @DDR2-800 (400 MHz) on a board that natively only supports DDR2-400 and DDR2-533 memory modules.

  • Does my board support dualchannel?

    Hi there,
maybe a stupid question, but ... does my board MSI 6702 K8T Neo-FIS2R support dualchannel-ram? Or is this only possible with pentium-boards?
How can I determine it, if my modules (both 512 mb mdt ram ddr 400) run in dualchannel?
    Bye,

    Ooops my bad
Too many NEOs floating around to keep up with.
But I do know that 939's are non-registered RAM boards (got one). 940's use the registered memory.
    Know the feeling.
I thought the Via Neo2 was dual channel and registered Ram, I live and learn.

Well, I have the Platinum w/ the Nvidia.... I ought to put it in my sig.

  • Does K7D support AMD MP1900+ CPUs?

    Hi
I have two matching AMDMP 1900+ CPUs and a new K7D master MB. Does the MB support these CPUs ?
I have set them up but when I turn on the Power the fans start running but all 4 LED lights stay on.  Same result if I use only one CPU.  There is no post.
    K&D Master
    Qtec 550W PSU
AMD MP 1900 CPU matching pair
    Crucial 512MB DDR PC2100

try a descent psu that thing will never run a dual set up with its crap max amps
    its 550 watts PEAK
in reallity a 300 watt enermax has as much power
antec 430 true power at least
on most boards page there is a link to supported cpu

  • Does the X58 boards support intel 2 core quad 775?

i have a question the X58 boards support 2 core quad processors? because it says 45 nm support.

For future reference, look at the socket of cpu.
Core 2's are socket 775 or LGA 775, X58 is for Nehalem or better Bloomfield cpu's, new architecture and has socket 1366 or LGA 1366.
The numbers stand for the number of pins found on the bottom of the cpu, the core 2's had 775 contactpoints, the new Nehalem 1366.
The 45 nm you refer to is the productionproces on which it is made on, e.g. 45 nm.
The smaller this number becomes, the next step is 32 nm, the more processors can be cut from a wafer.

  • 648Max:Can I FSB 800 too?

    Support up to 3.2GHz/FSB 800
    Supports FSB 400/533/800 MHz
My 648 Max is also........... MSI Part No. MS-6585
It is a 533 MHz board, but it can do the 800 in the BIOS.
    Does this mean I too can ran a 3.2GHz/FSB 800 ?

  • I want to buy MSI N630GT-MD4GD3 but does your gpy support my mainboard ?

hello msi i want to buy MSI N630GT-MD4GD3 but does your gpu support my mainboard ?
    please help me guys
here is my mainboard spec :-
    GRAPHICS   º Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 ( GMA950 )
º Max Dynamic Video Memory up to 224MB(System Memory greater than or equal to 512MB)
    EXPANSION SLOT   º 1 x PCI Express x16 slot
    º 1 x PCI Express x1 slot
    º 2 x PCI slots
    CPU   º LGA775 socket for latest Intel® Core™2 Duo /Pentium 4 (6xx)/ Pentium D /celeron (4xx)/Celeron D Processors
    º FSB 1066/800/533 MHz
    CHIPSET   º Intel® 945GC & ICH7
    º North Bridge: Intel® 945GC
    º South Bridge: Intel® ICH7

This is a Users-to-Users Forum. If you want to ask MSI: >>How to contact MSI.<<
Considering PCI-E compatibility it is fine with a Nvidia card. Still nobody can guarantee you an old 945GC board won't have bios problems supporting a current generation vga. Most likely it will work though.

  • K8N Neo2 Platinum supports which Athlon CPUs?

Pardon my ignorance, but I find this confusing:
Supports up to 3500+, 3800+ Athlon 64 FX 53, or higher CPU
Does the K8N Neo2 Platinum support Athlon 64 3500+ and 3800+, and NOT the 3700+? Does it support CPUs in the 4000 range? It would be easier to understand if msi just listed each CPU that this board supports.
This board is well-recommended, but I was actually considering the Athlon 3700+ for price/performance reasons. It's only $20 more than the 3500+, it's supposed to be easy to overclock, and it's way, way cheaper than the 3800+. But if the board doesn't support the 3700, I'll get the 3500.
    Motherboard specs here:

that's because that info is released when the mobo is released. future upgrades are done through BIOS, and you will find additional information about added CPU support in the BIOS descriptions on the site.

  • Does iTunes 11 supports 5.1 Speakers?

Does iTunes 11 supports 5.1 Speakers? If yes which all speakers does it support and how to activate it on iTunes?I am able to play music in 5.1 surround mode using other players such as WMP 11, VLC, GOMP, WINAMP but when I play music using iTunes it only plays in stereo mode i.e. 2.1. The side / rear speakers do not give any output.
    Specs:
    Windows 7,
Gigabyte FX990-UD3 Motherboard with 7.1 audio on-board support using 6 3.5mm jack pins.
Creative SBS A520 5.1 speaker system.
    iTunes 11.1 installed.

I think you mean HandBrake. I use HandBrake and I know exactly what you're talking about. Unfortunately, sometimes HandBrake shows that there is CC available but when you rip it, the CC doesn't appear in iTunes. I notice that but there is no way around it. This only happens with newer releases (I'm positive you only see this issue in newer films). HandBrake needs to be updated to keep up with the newer encryption by DVDs. There is nothing we can do. Hope that this post answered your question.

  • MSI 845PE MAX2 FSB 800???

I've got the MSI 845pe max2, and have been trying to find out if it's possible to get FSB 800 of this board like the MSI 845PE MAX3?

    Hi,
You're using the "Network access" service of the desktop box I guess? That gives you access to the Bluetooth LAN adapter being installed with the Widcomm software. If you want to make some connections out you have to configure Internet connection sharing on the desktop box as well - and ofcourse make sure that the two devices are correctly paired with sufficient permissions in the security config. I have been running about the same setup on a slightly older 845E Max2-BLR MB using XP with virtually zero issues...

  • Does the mobo support Z68A-GD65 (B3) was removed?

Does the mobo support Z68A-GD65 (B3) was removed?. Currently not find BIOS updates and Virtu does not work with the Core i5 3570K.

Well, that is highly irregular! One day it's not found on the Websites, and now it is. That was not on the Global site yesterday, because I looked. And a (G3) UEFI/BIOS at that.
You are mostly on your own on this one. The 'key' or 'certification' has obviously been removed from hardware/firmware or whatever it is on the board that handles that aspect. How you get it back depends on what you decide to do. If it is that important to you, the mainboard may have to be restored to it's former glory of Sandy only UEFI/BIOS's. Use the link in one of my previous replies and contact MSI Technical about all this. They are the only ones that can help you possibly get the Virtu problem resolved. What have you really gained using an Ivy CPU on a Z68 (B3)? Good luck!

  • Does Neo2 LS support Celeron D ?

If you got 865 PCB 1- version 1 board, you have to update bios to 2.3.

  • Macintosh Does Not Have Supported Superdrive

I have an eMac that came with a Superdrive from 2002. The only thing I did recently was upgrade to the most recent version of iTunes. I have been having problems burning DVDs.
    I ran ONYX. It worked.
    I then had problems.
I ran Onyx again and it didn't help. I burned to an external drive with 101 GB of space it worked.
I tried to burn again on the same drive and I got told MACINTOSH DOES NOT HAVE SUPPORTED SUPERDRIVE.
Is there a setting I haven't checked on.
Could the new iTunes be causing this problem.
Any help troubleshooting would be great.
    Evan Jacobs

    Sue
First of all thank you so much for the response. I have downloaded the doc (below) you suggest and am about to carefully read it to see if I can figure out what is going on.
    Read this:
SuperDrive: Important Information About Using With
    High-Speed Media
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86130
Also, are you really running 10.2.x ? X = what?
Second, I am running an iMac Version 10.2.8 At least that is what it says in the About this Mac menu. Actually, it says Version 10.2.8 Processor: 800 MHz PowerPC G4
I got this whole set up in May 2002 , have done periodic updates and had absolutely no trouble burning DVDs until the past six months. That's when I used a no-name batch of printable DVDs. It's my first shot at printables. (The music CDs I've printed look terrific & play fine.) The DVD projects are turning out to be a pain, however. I thought the problem was the DVDs.
I did go into the console log via the System Profiler. Found this info regarding the failed burn:
    iDVD: Burning to PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104 A227 via ATAP1.
iDVD: Requested burn speed was max, actual burn speed is 7x.
iDVD: Burn started, Mon Jan 30 23:47:28 2006
iDVD: Burn underrun protection is supported, and enabled.
    iDVD: Write (10), block: 800, count:32 ->3/11/05 Medium Error, L-EC uncorrectable error
iDVD: Burn failed, Mon Jan 30 23:47:56 2006
iDVD: Burn sense: 3/11/05 Medium Error, L-EC uncorrectable error
iDVD: Burn error: 0x80020060 The device drained its butter without burn underrun protection.
It's mostly Greek to me except that the burn failed. (That it did!)
I appreciate your help. I try hard to understand this stuff, but lately I seem to spend more time sorting out techie issues than editing.
