Does my Credit Card information's details have to fully match my Apple ID information?
I'm turning fifteen soon and I've been leeching off my father's Apple ID (This one) for as long as I can remember for apps, music, and generally everything Apple. Only problem is that with iCloud becoming suddenly amazing I want to buy a Macbook Air, and fully use all features of iCloud with my various Apple products.
For this I need my own Apple ID, and here's my dilemma. I'm one of those kids who doesn't believe in age restrictions. I believe that the 'R' sticker means nothing, it should be purely based on the individual's maturity levels. My parents have approved that I can indulge in 'R' rated content, so long as they can see what it is, which I always loyally do. However current laws prohibit this. I was wondering, if I were to get my own credit card and activate my credit card with my new Apple ID could I have a credit card saying I'm 15 on an Apple ID account saying I'm 22 (Or whichever age I put in)?
I know it's not exactly 'right' but can I just get a response telling me if this is possible?
Thanks,
James
Hi Teljam!
Instead of bothering with getting a credit card and starting up a new Apple ID under that, why not have your own personal iCloud account and keep using your father's Apple ID for purchases? I have an article here that can explain more about this:
Using one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store Purchases
You can use different Apple IDs for iCloud and Store purchases and still get all of the benefits of iCloud. Just follow these steps:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
When you first set up your device with iOS 5 or later, enter the Apple ID you want to use with iCloud. If you skipped the setup assistant, sign in to Settings > iCloud and enter the Apple ID you’d like to use with iCloud.
In Settings > iTunes and App Stores, sign in with the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match). You may need to sign out first to change the Apple ID.
Mac:
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud in Apple () menu > System Preferences > iCloud.
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) inStore > Sign In. In iTunes 11, you can also click iTunes Store > Quick Links: Account.
PC (Windows 8):
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud in the Control Panel. To access the iCloud Control Panel, move the pointer to the upper-right corner of the screen to show the Charms bar, click the Search charm, and then click the iCloud Control Panel on the left.
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) in iTunes. In iTunes 10, select Store > Sign In. In iTunes 11, click iTunes Store > Quick Links: Account.
PC (Windows 7 and Vista):
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud in Control Panel > Network and Internet > iCloud.
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) in iTunes 10 in Store > Sign In. In iTunes 11, click iTunes Store > Quick Links: Account.
Note: Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID for your iTunes Store account, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days. Learn more about associating a device or computer to your Apple ID.

iTunes Store: Changing Account Information

Hi, I have registered at apple site, and i have submitted the credit card information, they deducted some ammount without my permission, why they did that? how can i remove my credit card details from that site or deactivate my account?
From that HT3702 page :
If you update your billing information, the iTunes Store or Mac App Store will place an authorization hold on your payment card account, usually in the amount of 1 USD or the local currency equivalent, to verify your account information.
You might see authorization requests on your online statement. These requests aren't actual charges; they are tests to confirm that your payment card account is active and has available funds to accommodate transactions. Authorization holds are removed by your financial institution shortly after your purchase clears. The time it takes to remove authorization requests varies by financial institution.
The number of days that it takes to diappear varies by bank, but it's usually a few days - though with the weekend coming up it might take an extra day or two -
I have a student trying to set up an App Store account (she has an Apple ID), however she is being asked for credit card information. The option of NONE does not appear as one of the choices with the other credit cards.
Any assistance? There are instrctions on this page for how to create a new account (it won't work with existing account) without giving a credit card number : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 e.g. select a free app in the store and click on 'create Apple id' when 'buying' it.

I have Itunes credit but it wont let me use it and keeps asking me for credit card information like it does if you dont have enough credit to pay for what you are buying. I tryed just clicking none but it wont let me, how do you get it to just take money from your itunes credit, not off a credit card?
I would contact iTunes:

I just redeemed an iTunes gift card code and then tried to buy a movie. But iTunes keeps asking me to enter the details of a valid credit card. I had been buying apps, music and movies on multiple Apple devices without any credit card information. I just used the iTunes gift cards. But suddenly iTunes just would't allow me to do that any more. I wonder why... How can I keep using the money I have redeemed from iTunes gift cards without entering any credit card information?
Perhaps you should Contact the iTunes Store Customer Service:

how could I turn on genius without credit card information? I dont have any credit cards ...
Unless the instructions on this page are followed when creating an iTunes account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.
If you are getting a prompt to review your account when trying to use it then you could see if this post by mountaingoatgirl lets you do so without needing to enter credit card details : https://discussions.apple.com/message/24303054#24303054
If not then you will need to create a new account, and use the instructions on that HT2534 page when creating it. If you want to use the same email address then you will need to replace it on that account first e.g. by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your iPad, via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes or via http://appleid.apple.com
(For future info typing all in capitals is considered shouting and makes posts difficult to read, and may mean that people are less likely to reply.) -
Can't get Netflix to recognize an iTunes purchase keeps coming us with "the credit card information that you entered does not appear to be valid'? Netflix says not them?
The message you received indicates that the phone is locked to a carrier other than the one for which you have a SIM. You'll need to take the issue up with Apple. Nothing you do with iTunes is going to make a difference.
I'm quite surprised that the UK Apple Store replaced a U.S. purchased phone. They usually won't.
Best of luck. -
Why is it every time I try do download a free apps or games it requires me to fill up a credit card information since I don't have one so I cancel it and It won't able to continue to download?
You can create an iTune and App Store account without credit card details
1. Sign out of current Apple ID if you are sign-in to one (important)
2. Go to App Store and select a free app
3. Tap INSTALL APP
4. Create New Apple ID
5. Confirm Your Country
6. Agree with Terms and Conditions
7. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (you must create a new Apple ID; don't use your old Apple ID)
8. Create and answer your secret question
9. Select NONE for Payment Method
10. Fill in Billing Address
11. Submit application for new Apple ID
12. Wait for verification email
13. When email arrive, verify your account
14. Start downloading your free apps -
Why do you have to put your credit card information in
why do you have to use credit card information to start an online id
You don't HAVE to, but it sure does make life easier if you do. You might want to buy a song. You might want to buy an App. You might want to make an In-App purchase. I've had my CC tied to my iTunes account now for years, and it's completely secure.
If however, you want to limit what you can download on your iPad. Here are directions on how to set up a credit card free account.

Hi! I have 1 credit card and 2 more apple id. Is it possible to use this credit card information for all my apple id?
Though you are being asked for card details it doesn't necessarily mean that the card will be charged for the purchase (unless you want to gift content). Have you tried entering your card's details to confirm the account ? You should then be able to remove it.
From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5582 :
When making purchases, content credits are used first, followed by Gift Certificate, iTunes Card, or Allowance Account credits; your credit card or PayPal account is then charged for any remaining balance
Is it a new account ? If it is then unless a new account is created by following the instructions on this page (the instructions won't work with existing accounts) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
then you will need to enter card details (debit cards are no longer accepted in all countries) before the account can be used to download any item from the store. -
HT204053 Why do I have to submit my credit card information just to download free apps?
Why do I have to submit my credit card information just to download free apps?
You don't, if you follow the instructions on this page when creating an account (the instructions won't work with existing accounts) then you don't have to give credit card details, you will get a 'none' option on the payments screen : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534

what if i place a credit card information in my account and i have purchase a free apps will i be charge on that?
geneviemaude07 wrote:
there would be no hidden charge to that?
Hidden or otherwise, no charge...
I'm not sure that you can remove your credit card information once you have added it. I think you will just have to live with the fact that Apple has your credit card number. Of course, that could be quite useful on the day that you decide that you want an App that does need paying for. -
I wanted to cancel my annual subscriptions but could not, now I realize I have been billed. I need a refund and credit card information removed to prevent this. I am really disaPpointed thought someone would have written me first instead of my credit card just being automatically debitted. I really cannot afford this right now, I find itune is doing an in justice.
Sent from my iPadThere are instructions on this page for managing and stopping auto-renewing subscriptions : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098
In terms of a refund, all purchases are considered final, but you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will refund or credit you : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption -
I have tried everything, even erasing content on my iPad but I am still being asked to submit credit card information for free apps. I am also being asked the same thing to update apps which I already have. Someone please help!!!!
