Does my iPod have a GPS?

There is an app for it actually if you go to app store and search : Gps there is some different apps that can be used some free and some with money.
This does not change the fact that there is no GPS receiver on the ipod.
The apps will not do you any good unless you are in range of a wi-fi router ( as wi-fi is how ipd determines it's location) and will not be nearly as accurate as a unit wth a GPS receiver.

i am having major issues! this does not work i dont understand..does the ipod have to be off while pressing the buttons if so how is it possible if it is connected to the computer either way it turns on..and when i tried these steps while the ipod was on it still doesnt  work it just asks me “slide to power off” please someone help me i just cant seem to put my ipod in DFU mode

To get the iPod in recovery mode and DFU mode you first have to turn the iPod off.
Just what is the problem you are tying to resolve?
Sometimes you have to let the battery fully drain if you can't turn the iPod off. After charging for at least hour try again.

  • Why does my ipod have on the screen the itunes symbol and the cord and an arrow pointing to the itunes symbol?  I can't get it to do anything.

Why does my ipod have on its screen the itunes symbol and the cord with an arrow pointing to the itunes symbol.  I can't do anything with my ipod now!

Plug it into iTunes. If that does not work hold the power and home button untill the screen turns off then let go of the power button but KEEP holding the home button... this should bypass the connect to iTunes screen. Hope it helps.

  • Does my ipod have 1 year waranty??

I had a 40gb 4th generation ipod and it broke after updating it so i took it to the apple shop and they gave me the new 60gb video ipod. I was wandering does the ipod have 1 yr warranty with it or do i have to purchase the protection plan?

Even so.. I think it'll still be treated as a new purchase.
Actually, that is not usually true. The warranty for replacement iPods is 90 days or the length of the original warranty, whichever is longer.

  • Does IPad 2 have a GPS

Does IPad 2 Retina Desplay have a GPS?

The 3G/4G iPads have a built-in GPS chip, the wifi-only models don't (though there are some third-party GPS units that will work with them).
The iPad 3 and 4 have retina display, the iPad 2 doesn't.

  • Does your iPod have the dreaded apple logo/sad face problem? Here's help!

Hi, I'm Stan, and I've found some useful tips in solving this problem.
This mini-guide is based on what I've found on my old clickwheel 20GB, B&W iPod (actually my bro's. My own video pod works great).
Description of what I call the, "apple logo/sad face" problem:
When I press any button, the apple logo appears, then after a few impatient seconds, the sad face appears, showing "www.apple.com/support/ipod/" at the bottom. Apparently, many ppl have this problem.
    iPod commands:
Hold down the following buttons for the following commands:
MENU + Select=Resets the iPod. This "exits" your iPod out of whatever mode, bringing up the apple logo, hopefully but most unlikely fixing your iPod.
    |<< + Select= the secret diagnostic mode. You'll see: apple logo, then backwards apple logo for a split second (backlight will light up), then you'll see "IRAMPASS. HITPLAY CONTINUE". NOTE: '|<<' is known as the 'reverse' button. aka the 'rewind' or 'previous' button. it's the left button of the iPod. I got confused by the word, 'reverse' b4.
    || + Select= Disk Mode. You'll see a √, should say "OK to disconnect" and you'll see the battery icon and your battery life remaining. NOTE: '>||' is known as the 'play/pause' button. it's the bottom button.
Now then, now that we have that cleared, you're still wondering why your pod ain't going into either disk mode or diagnostic mode. Here's probably why:
My old, clickwheel 20GB pod can infact reset, disk mode, and diagnostic mode. According to Apple, you must reset your pod, then hold down the two buttons for whichever mode you want. I did this, and had no luck. For all you stumped fellows, try skipping the first step. In other words, when your pod is off, hold down |<< and Select without resetting. Same goes for disk mode.
Here's what my pod does, and what your pod may or may not do:
-Takes a really long time to go into disk mode, yet it's still possible.
-when attempting to connect to computer while in disk mode, it shows the normal "do not disconnect" screen, then reverts to the sad face.
-the HDD SCAN and HDD R/W SCAN don't work in diagnostic mode (Maybe they actually do, but I ain't waiting any longer).
-I've concluded that if you hear the whrring sound (sounds like the hard drive disk is struggling to spin properly, very quiet, must put pod close to your ear to hear it), your pod is "stuck" and won't do anything.
This mini-guide isn't a solution, but merely all of Apple's feeble advice put into words that iPod noobs can understand. So next time you read something like "try putting your iPod into disk mode, connect it, and hope it shows up in Disk Utility.". you'll be saying "it's not showing up!!" instead of "the sad face won't let me put it into disk mode!!"
hope this helps. Let's all do what we can to stop this problem.
    peace

    See if these help.
iPod shows only an Apple logo and doesn't start up.
Only the Apple logo appears when turned on.

  • Why does my Ipod have no sound?

I looked on other forums and found many, many people complaining of the same thing.  I was using my Ipod, it got loud with static, and then went totally dead.  I have tried resetting it; restoring it to original condition, etc.  Nothing works.
I have found on-line that most people said it is a defect in the soldering on the one board, that this is quite common.
Any help and if this is a common problem, will Apple fix it even though it is now out of warranty?

Likely not.  Here is an extensive thread on the subject if you'd like to have a look.

  • Is this a FIRMWARE BUG, or does my iPod have a problem?

With my 5.5G 80GB iPod the following sequence of events sometimes seems to make the ipod unable to play music. Only a hard reboot fixes it again:
    1) start playing a song.
    2) pause the song.
    3) Pull out the headphones.
    4) wait a minute or two for the ipod to go to sleep.
    5) plug in headphones
    6) turn on ipod and press play.
Now the ipod is screwed, it won't play a thing. You go to a song, but just silence. The trouble is it doesn't happen every time, but it has happened about 5 times in the last few days.
Anybody else see this behaviour, or is it just me?

Well of the whole sequence thing, the only one I do purposefully is simply to start the iPod playing then plugging in the headphones. As far as when I am done, I don't really have a set sequence I follow, at least not consciencely. However I may follow the same sequence without thinking about it.
I think typically it is, Pause, pull headphone, then hold switch to hold position. Pause is always first, but the other two might get switched around sometimes.
But when I start up, hold goes off, start the iPod if it doesn't automatically do so, hit play (if already at a song) or start something playing, then plug in headphones. This may or may not be followed by head bobbing and off key overloud singing along.

  • Why does my iPod have bad sound quality?

    Hi!
I have an iPod Touch 8gb.
    iOS 4.3.4
    Jailbroken...
About 3 months ago, my headphone jack broke and was stuck in my iPod...
I got it out a week ago..
But the sound quality is really bad.
Theres too much echo, not enough bass and too much distortion and gain...

Based on other user's expereince, the headphone jack is damaged and requires replacement provided that the problem is only with headphones.

  • All the songs in my iPod touch were deleted automatically. What should I do? Does my ipod have a problem?

Please help! I'm freaking out. This is like my third one and I'm not planning on buying another one. :(

You are being very sparse with information.
What was the iPod doing when it occurred?
Are apps you purchased still on the iPod?

  • Why does my ipod have lines threw it

help my ipod has colourfull lines threw it when i tried to open an app what do i do?

Try the standard fixes to rule out a software proble:
    - Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPod from backup
    - Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have the problem it is likely a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Does any ipod have ability to accept a SD (SansDisk)?

I'm new ipod buye and wonder if any ipod can accept an SD and play it? For example, I can load an audible book onto my GARMIN from internet on my computer...put on an SD...and playback. Can I load a song or audio book onto an SD, then load into ipod nano and play? Is this feature available on nanos? Any ipod? thanx

No iPod has the capability to read SD cards. All iPods (with the correct version of iTunes) have the capability to play Audible content.
