Does my MacBook work with OS X Lion?

Hi,
I was wondering if my MacBook can run OS X Lion. Please tell me if it can and if not, please tell me requirements!
My MacBook information:
Hardware Overview:
     - Processor: Intel Core Duo
     - Processor Speed: 1.83GHz
     - Number Of Processors: 1
     - Total Number Of Cores: 2
     - Memory: 2GB
     - Bus Speed: 667MGz
This is my hardware on my MacBook. The MacBook is white and it has a square camera. It runs Mac OS X Snow Leopard (v10.6.8)
Thanks!
Genius of Apple

As it has a Core Duo and not a Core 2 Duo, it can't and can't be upgraded.

Does my macbook work with the thunderbolt display?

I'm not sure what you mean. Display port on your computer or on the monitor? According to the Apple site the system requirements for the Thunderbolt monitor are:
    System Requirements
Thunderbolt-enabled Mac computer, including MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
If your computer does not have a Thunderbolt port then you need to use this monitor. Since they are the same price you should be able to exchange one for the other if you do so within 14 days of purchase.

  • Does final cut work with the new lion?

I want to buy the new final cut... i bought logic pro for my lion and had some problems, but fixed it, now i just want to know if anybody had problems with Lion and the new final cut?

Well, I am running FCP X on Lion since it was released without any problems...
I can only wholeheartedly agree with Andy... “FCP X is truly a ground-braking application”.
Since I changed from Final Cut Express to Final Cut Pro X...
I highly enjoyed the challenge to learn something new...
After a few days everything was familiar again, and I never looked back...
This software is just absolutely amazing...
In combination with Motion 5, this package is nearly unbelievable...

  • Does the MacBook work with imovie

With limited specs of the MacBook, how easily can iMovie projects be produced?

I watched a review from The Verge that said the new MacBook wasn't a good option for iMovie because of a lack of speed. You can watch the review here: http://www.theverge.com/2015/4/9/8373287/new-macbook-review-specs-price-video

  • HT2499 I have a new MacBook Pro with OS X Lion 10.7.4. The DVD player does not have a feature to store film clips. Why? This is useful for my work and I had it on my older computer? Why the loss of capacity?

I have a new MacBook Pro with OS X Lion 10.7.4. The DVD player does not have a feature to store film clips. Why? This is useful for my work and I had it on my older computer? Why the loss of capacity?

I cannot recall the DVD player ever being a place to "store" videos - it is simply an app to play videos.
If your machine is new, then iMovie should be included as the "shrunk" version of iLife is included with Lion (iMovie, Garageband, and iPhoto). However, iMovie is not a place to store videos either - it is a video editor. You import your clips and edit them in order to then burn to a DVD or share via a social media site.
Have you considered simply dragging the clips to your folder "Movies"? That would be a great place to just store them (please be aware that videos are usually large files, so keep your hard drive space in mind so you keep a minimum free and available for the OS to operate properly):

  • Does VMWare Fusion work with Lion

Does VMWare Fusion work with Lion?

After upgrading to Lion, I was experiencing significant problems with my MacBook Pro waking from sleep.  It would present me with the screen asking for my password and as soon as I typed into the field the screen would blank.  Almost like a badly done game.
In an effort to address this, I re-installed VMWare Fusion.  The problem has not presented itself since, and it was happening on almost every wake-from-sleep.
Take this as what it is -- a one-time anecdotal report.  But if you're experiencing issues after upgrading to Lion and you have Fusion, try just re-installing Fusion.  It doesn't take long and it doesn't impact your VMs (I'd shut them down before the re-install, but that's probably not a requirement).

  • Home sharing does not work with new mountain lion update.

home sharing does not work with new mountain lion update. Does anyone else have the same issue. Updated all computers in my home, deauthorized and reauthorized each computer. turn off home sharing and turned it back on. don't know what else to do..please help...

Our Apple TVs continue to lose connection ever since installing Mountain Lion on the host computer. The only thing that fixes them is to quit and relaunch iTunes, which only works unti the ATV goes to sleep. If a movie is paused for more than a few minutes and the ATV goes to sleep, pressing play again on the remote is greeted with "There are no movies on this computer" or "Turn on Home Sharing."
If we stop a video on one ATV and attempt to resume it in another room, the error begins again. The other ATV can't connect until iTunes is relaunched.
My guess is that it has something to do with the new [annoying] security settings. But I still haven't found a fix other than restarting iTunes everytime we want to watch something from our downloads. Fail.

  • HT1899 Does Windows XP work with Mountain Lion or not compatible?

Does Windows XP work with Bootcamp in Mountain Lion or is it not compatible?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Boot Camp 5, the version that comes with OS X Mountain Lion, is only compatible with Windows 7 and soon with Windows 8.
However, if you upgrade from an older OS X version and you have Windows XP or Windows Vista installed with Boot Camp, you can continue using it without any problem, but you won't be able to update the drivers

  • Does 'Network Connect' work with MacBook Pro?

My safari unexpectedly quits when attempting to log into my company's VPN.
    - I log into our VPN website and the connection begins to initialize
    - with my MacBook, Safari (2.0.3) unexpectedly quits
    - with my PowerBook, 'Network Connect' automatically starts and the VPN connection completes without any problem
Does 'Network Connect' work with MacBook Pro? Any ideas?

Resolved. MacBook Pro was having trouble dowloading the 'Network Connect' application when I logged into my VPN client for the first time. I copied it from my PowerBook G4 over to the appropriate folder and it now works perfectly.

  • Does filemaker 9 work with mountain lion

does filemaker 9 work with mountain lion?

No, I didn't find your post helpful.
I'm well aware that FileMaker does not indicate compatibility between FileMaker Pro 9 and Mountain Lion. However, in my experience, "compatibility" is a somewhat ambiguous term -- lack of compatibility doesn't mean that FM Pro 9 won't run under ML. There may indeed be some feature in FM Pro 9 that won't work properly -- but that doesn't mean that the app as a whole is, for example, unusable.
As another example, I believe that Roxio lists that Toast Titanium 9 won't run under Mountain Lion, either, but it seems to run just fine for me ;-)
Hence my question: has anyone tried?

Hard to say without knowing the model. You can go to About This Mac - more info to verify. It needs to be mid 2011 or later.

  • Does entourage 2008 work with lion?

Does Entourage 2008 work with Lion? I have heard conflicting reports...
    Thanks

Since En'rage does so many things the conflicting reports probably have to do with whether the program is being used just for mail, just for the calendar, or for both. For what its worth, I'm not happy with the 2011 version's performance in Lion. I've gone back to Mail and began using BusyCal

Yes but there is a problem with upgrade installs using the dongle, if you're in that situation I'd search for the threads about it.
