Does My Photo Stream share video?

This article says My Photo Stream dors not work with video: My Photo Stream FAQ - Apple Support
This photo is a screen shot from page 95 of the manual for iOS 8.1. I highlighted the part that says My Photo Stream uploads video. This seems conflicting. Am I missing something?

The following two quotations are from: iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ
The photos you upload to My Photo Stream are stored in iCloud for 30 days to give your devices plenty of time to connect and download them.
Your iOS devices keep a rolling collection of your last 1000 photos in the My Photo Stream album. From there, you can browse your recent photos or move the ones you like to your Camera Roll or another album to keep them on your device forever.

  • HT4858 does 'my photo stream' mean the built in photo stream which is called 'my photo stream' or is it a generic term for photostreams I have but which I have not yet shared?

It is not clear from the support document what it means
Also does 'shared photo stream' mean one that I have actually shared, or does it mean one that I have created which has the potential to be shared?

    Hello,
It is my understanding that the name displayed here will be that which is (in Contacts) associated with the email address for the Apple ID registered with the iCloud account of the person on the stream.
In other words, check to see if the contact entry for your brother in your iPhone has an email address. If this email address in his contact entry is also associated with the Apple ID that your sister-in-law is using for iCloud (which is responsible for Photo Streams), this could be the cause of the delemma. I believe this is a programmed feature and not a bug, but I'm not positive about the methods iCloud uses to display that name.
In order to troubleshoot this, delete that email address in your brother's Contact entry and add it to your sister-in-law's Contact entry. This could correct the issue. If that works, you could then add the email back to your brother's entry (so that it is in both of their entries) and see what happens.

  • Does shared photo stream pictures use up memory?

I am wondering if when you share an album or set of pictures with someone else, does it take up storage on their phone?

    Hm, what is 'temporary' memory?
Actually it is a very good question from RWaddell11
It is strange that I do not see a lot of similar questions.
The idea of common photo stream in icloud is very good.
For instance to have common photo with parents, etc. As Apple proposes.
Common photo album stored in icloud without time limit and almost without quantity of photos. (its in their advertisement)  It is possible to “like” and comment photos. Its like a very simple social network.
But when you create a common album in icloud it is very interesting How much memory will it (albume) use on your device and the device of the person you share your album. It does im sure…
Example: Having 64 gb iPhone I can for example have 20 gb of Photos. And upload them to common album for my friend with 16 Gb iPhone.
So what will be with memory of the phone of my friend? Will this common album fill it up if he accept my invite? And what will be with memory of 64 gb iPhone after I delete from camera roll shared to common album photos?
After a short experiment the result can be seen in statistics: it is obvious that after I uploaded photos to common album and delete them from camera roll, total free memory in statistics will increase. In detailed line “Photo and camera” Camera roll will be +- free and shared photos will take some place. Not the same as uploaded to common album. Good, but after you look them through, this line of statistics will show increase of memory usage. The same with the person I shared to.
It looks like memory used to upload preview of the photos of the common album. Is this 'temporary' memory? Than How it will be free? Automatically or not? (I found it can be free only by switching of\on this function with common album in settings)
So, what is the limit? In case of mentioned above Example: shall I check first free the memory of my friend? Because even preview of the huge common album can fill up the memory of small storage device.

  • Apple TV can't find my computer/ipad or itunes libraries of either but does find photo stream. (home sharing support all done, no fix) any idea's?

    apple tv 3, software: 5.2
    Using an Ipad2 , ios 6.1.2
can't seem to share in itunes?

Your Apple TV won't be able to access your iPad library. The reason that it will connect to Photo Stream is because it is pulling it from your iCloud account, not by connecting to your computer. Here are some things to consider (without knowing more about your issue):
    1. Are the Apple TV & computer with iTunes connected to the same network?
    2. Is iTunes open on the computer?
    3. Do you have Home Sharing setup on the computer and the Apple TV with the same account?

  • HT201317 Can the other person in my Shared Photo Stream share photos to me as well as I to them?

I have a Shared Photo Stream set up with my friend. We're both connected to Wifi but only I (the one who created the album) can share photos. Is there any way that other person can share photos in the Shared Photo Stream as well? We also tried it where my friend invited me to a Shared Photo Stream and we encountered the same results.

In a few months with ios7, according to Apple - yes. But not now. Now they need to share another stream with you.

  • WRT610N and PS3 - Slow audio and photo streaming, while video is fine

Hi, I just hooked up my USB portable hard drive to this Linksys router and was able to access the picture/audio/video on my PS3, it's very cool
However I quickly noticed is has couple of problems:
The access to JPG files is painfully slow, on average it would take about 20 to 30 seconds for the next photo to show up (the average size for a photo is about 2~3 MB).
The similar story would happen on MP3.
However the streaming of video is totally a different story, it's lighting fast! It would take about 2 to 5 seconds for the video to start to play, once it's started, there is no lag/interruption. The video I watched is a 600 x 400 .avi file at the size of 84MB, it plays very fluidly.
I found it's hard to believe that HD video actually runs much better than photo and MP3, it just doesn't make sense to me.
I also rebooted router/PS3 mutiple times, which didn't help at all.
Can anyone offer some hints on what could be wrong?
    thanks ahead,
    Hong

  • Does deleting photo stream save iphone space?

I see all my photos in the photo stream are in my camera roll.    I am fine with icloud space but not iphone space.

When you take a photo or video, or save a photo from another source such as a webpage, text message, FaceBook, etc., it is saved to the camera roll.  If you have photo stream enabled on your device, these camera roll photos (not videos) are then uploaded to your photo stream in iCloud when your device is connected to wifi, has the camera app closed, and has at least 20% battery life remaining.  Photo stream then streams these photos to any iOS devices or computers that are syncing with your iCloud account with photo stream enabled.  This allows you to take a photo (for example), and have it automatically added to your other devices.  Since your iPod is one of these devices, it will also receive a copy of the photo in the my photo stream album.  See http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/photo-stream.html and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486.
If by "user name" you mean your iCloud account ID name, if it isn't an @me or @mac, you can change it as outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40.  After changing it, to change it on your device you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the changed name.  When you delete the account it deletes the account and your synced data from your device, but not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts, your data will be synced back to your device when you sign back in.

  • Does "My Photo Stream" feature preserves the full quality of the original photos taken?

I use my iphone's camera almost exclusively in taking pictures. I find the photo stream feature quite handy because unlike in the past, i don't need to manually back up my photos to my PC. But as I saw the size of my camera roll and photo stream in the Usage section in my settings, I found out that the size of each "album" is different.

Photostream photos are NOT the original size.   The originals go into your camera roll, and can be deleted once you transfer to your PC/Mac.

  • Does iPad2 photos support the videos taken with iPhone4?

I just bought an iPad2 and synced my iPhone 4 photos/videos to it.  However, the videos that I took from my iPhone is not appearing in the 'photos'.  Am I looking at the wrong place or does iPad2 not support videos from iPhone4?  Thanks!

i had a similar problem and found that i could 'drag and drop' the .mov files from iphoto on my mac straight onto the ipad2 in itunes. these could then be viewed in the videos app on the ipad but i cant edit them in imovie!!!
if you are using a pc maybe you can drag and drop them in a similar fashion. they DO work on the ipad2 in the video app.

It can usually take up to about 35 days for a purchase to reflect within the Elite/Elite Plus spending bar on BestBuy.com.  With the new 2015 calendar year a few weeks away you may not see some of your recent purchases reflect in your spending bar, especially when it is reset to $0; however, any qualifying purchases made between 1/1/2014 - 12/31/2014 will be included when determining if a member reached Elite or Elite Plus status during the 2014 calendar year.  Your current total likely does not include any recent purchases.
I hope you have a great day and don't hesitate to reach out to us in the future.

  • TS3991 if i reset my i pad will it save my camera roll,my photo stream, my videos

if i reset my ipad will it save my camera roll, videoa, photo stream

No, it will only reset what it says it will reset.
Resetting settings will remove all the customised settings you have made anywhere on the device. Resetting network settings will reset all your network info including saved networks. etc etc. None these will do anything to your camera roll etc.
