Does my printer print labels

Hi
I have a 1050 AIO printer that works OK, but what I need to know is, does it print labels on rolls.
I have a labeling machine that uses, say a 1000 labels on a roll, that's fed into the labeling machine from the back on a spool.
Can the 1050 print my labels from a reel at the back of the printer if it had the necessary equipment.
If not, then does HP have any printers that do this type of printing.
Thanks a lot.
Michael

Hello Michael,
I understand you would like to print labels using your Deskjet 1050. Unfortunately no matter what tools you have this will not be possible because the reel won't work, the printer will keep feeding when it does not sense the edge of the page and jam.
I would like you to check out the Paper- handling specifications, here you will see the paper tray capacities and paper types that are compatible with your Deskjet 1050.
As for a label maker I suggest contacting HP Total Care at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region please click the link below to get the support number for your region. http://www.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpsupport/index.pl. They will be able to let you know what is available for you.
I hope this information was helpful. Please let me know if you require more assistance.
Thanks,

    Hi MollyPhloot07,
I'm glad you found the coupons.com app and you might also want to take a look at the GroceryIQ app from the same company.  Please note that at this time, printing is only support from iPad to HP wireless inkjet printer.  That's most likely the reason why your Canon isn't displaying when attempting to print.  The other way to go might be emailing the coupons you want to your email address, then open that email and print from a conventional desktop or laptop computer.
    Hope this helps!

  • Does Leopard give ability to print labels

I just purchased Leopard and iWorks.
I have been a Appleworks guy for years.
I have a data base I use for labels. I was able to transfer the date easily to numbers BUT numbers does not allow for labels.
Does the new leopard have any work around for labels ?
Otherwise what do iWorks lovers do for labels ??
    Greg

    Hello
    - 1 - Are you sure that you bought iWorks?
I'm sure that you don't, because such a product doesn't exist.
Apple is selling iWork (without a S)
    - 2 - Leopard is an operating system, it is unable to add features to an application.
The unique way to print labels with Pages (not with Numbers) is to use its ability to grab datas from the AddressBook application.
If this is not sufficient (which I may understand according to what I write at the bottom of all my messages here) go to "Provide Numbers Feedback" in the "Numbers" menu and describe what you want (you may replace the word Numbers by Pages or Keynote).

  • How can I make Address Book print labels how I want, or export to Word?

I have found a number of serious problems with Address Book, which unless I can overcome them mean it is entirely useless for me. Almost all are to do with creating mailing labels or envelopes:
1.I can't find any way of defining a sheet format for labels different from those on the pre-defined list. My labels are in 2 columns of 8, on a sheet 12” long by 8” wide, margins 0.5mm top and bottom, and ½” left and right. The labels themselves are 3½” x1½”. Address Book can't do it. It is odd that this is so restrictive, whereas with envelopes one has total flexibility.
2.Although I can define which address I want to print on each label or envelope, I can't find a way of defining which field should be used for the first (name) line. It always consists of the First and Last names as recorded on each card. This is not what I want. For different mailings, I want to use different first lines, as in many cases each card is the address of a family group, the First and Last names simply recording the names of the parents e.g., John and Mary Smith. But for my Christmas mailing I want to print 'The Smith Family', whereas for my charity mailshots I want to print 'Mrs Mary Smith', as she is the charity supporter, not her husband or children.
3.The address layout seems to be fixed, with each element on a separate line. This is not how I want to print, as in some cases it makes for too many lines, particularly on labels. I want to put the zip/post-code on the same line as the county or state, separated by about ½”. But I can't see how to dictate the layout at all. On labels there is a further problem, in that I can't define a vertical and/or horizontal off-set for the text.
4.The Country does not print at all on labels, making the application quite useless for foreign mailings, and I can't find a way of overcoming this. Over half our mailing addresses are affected by this.
    5. And another problem really puts the final cherry on the icing of this cake: There is no way I can find of exporting the data from the address book in a format, e.g. a csv file, that I can bring into a word processor where I could do these mailings how I want them. Not only does the box fail to do what I need, it is also locked.
I don't understand why, having set up Address Book on the database principle that one should have have to record each contact only once no matter how many ways one needs to use the data, it seems it has then been implemented in a way that prevents it being used in one of the most obvious ways, to print addresses in a format of the user's choice.
The Applecare adviser tells me the problems I have can't be overcome. Is that right, or is she, and I missing something? Please help.

"It's Christmas card time again and the fact that Address Book is useless for this purpose is really frustrating."
While I sympathise with the functionality of Address Book, I'm old-fashioned enough to write my cards and envelopes by hand (shock! horror!) and get quite p***-off to receive bulk-printed stuff.
    Just a thought, peeps.
It'd be all too easy to follow that up with a cheapshot making reference to how many Christmas cards you have to send, but I'll rise above that and explain that some of us might want to use this for business contacts and have 300+ cards to address.
It is a shame that the printing feature from Address Book is so close, yet so far from performing this simple task. It is a shame that Pages can run mail merge, but only for one record per page (which is useless for label printing). It is also a shame that MS Word for Mac does proper labels but doesn't recognise Address Book as a datasource.
These things are all a shame because with Apple's software, you rather expect things to "just work", as per their advertising, and when very simple things don't "just work", it difficult not to feel cheated.

  • How to print labels in Pages

So how does one print avery label 5260 in pages. In word it is easy to find a template. I am not able to find one in Pages.

With my new iMac earlier this year I had to buy Pages [5.0 (1465)], although I have Pages on two other Macs but they aren't sinced to my printer (believe me I've tried).
Today I wanted to print a label for an envelope. I opened my template but it was for a previous version of Pages so the outlines of the label-boxes are not visible. Avery doesn't seem to have template on-line either.
    What a pain!
This forum informs me that one can print via Contacts, so I tried that. Yes, it is possible but only the top left corner label, as far as I can see. So, I can't move down the page if I want to print in another box, tomorrow?
Also, the labels I have are 8920 and this is not in the print dialog drop-down menu.
Yesterday my Apple TV wasn't working so I went on-line and learned that I should do a restart. I did and now it's working, with updated software. Again, yesterday, I had to download new iPhone software. A couple of weeks ago I had to buy a new iPad because the old one just died. At the start of the week I was at the Genius Bar with my MacBook because a browser wouldn't load even Google. What will tomorrow bring?

  • When using Appleworks database for printing labels can I have columns of different widths?

When using Appleworks database for printing labels can I have a column of different width?
Case in point, the supplied avery labels in Appleworks does not have 8195. When I build one using custom design  I need a small column between column 2 and 3 to line up the info in columns 3 and 4. All the labels are 1.3/4 inch wide but I need to insert a column 1/4 wide to match up with the avery page....
    Any ideas???
    Thanks......
    ---warren

Well, the issue is that when you creat a custom width of 1.3/4 from the edge of the first label to the edge of label 2 all is good. The right and left margins were also set correct in AW. The Avery page, for some reason, has a small 1/4 inch column between the columns of label 2 and 3 therefore making the distance between the left edge of the label in column 2 and the right edge of the label in column 3 - a width of 2 inches and not 1.3/4.
I guess Avery wanted the page to look even.
    I did this work around.....
I created a custom lay out of 2 columns (not 4) with the correct width of 1.3/4 from label edge to label edge and the correct left side margin. After printing the first page I just turned the sheet 180 degress and printed the 2nd page to use all the labels on the Avery sheet. Since the upper and lower margin were the same it worked great....

  • Not able to print label getting standard text as it appears in so10

    Hi,
I have a  so10 object ,script contains only one window i.e main and we call so10 object  in script  by using statement    'Include &standrdtxt& object text id ST lang EN' ( standrdrxt contains text name)but instead of printing label it is printing the exact thing maintained in so10 object. the so10 object contains lines as mention below
    <STX><ESC>K<ETX>
    <STX><60>SI<62>L1000<ETX> , etc.....
As it is apperaing in the print preview, what is the <STX>....<ETX> and where it is maintained .What should i do so that  label get print .

    Hi,
The below is the full information what exactly is happening .
the user  had a Win 2000 computer that the Intermec 3600 is attached through nullmodem serial cable as a local printer.  The user would log on to SAP on that computer and selected the ZNW_DTILABEL transaction (driver program). Within the transaction, the user would specify LOCL to send communication to printer.  The Win 2000 machine is being replaced due to  discontinued support issues later this year. The new machine has Win XP and does not currently communicate with printer.
    user is telling that
There must be something in this transaction programming that assumes language from Win 2000 that a recent 1/12/2010 Hotfix KB97220 had to be removed off the Win 2000 computer in order for the SAP transaction to communicate to the printer.
I don't find anything in coding which is not allowing to print label, if i print from my PC i am getting text <STX>...<ETX> as said in first post instead of label.what would be the problem with XP or wht needs to be maintained in XP.

  • Missing field when printing labels with Address Book

I am would like to print the labels for my clients Christmas Cards, using AddressBook. When doing print > label, I get all their names and addresses on the labal formt that I want but the company name is missing. How do I get AddressBook to include the field "company" into the label ?
    Thanks for help.

If you need to include the company's and individual's name, here's a work-around:
    1) for each such card, you put the individual's name and leave the Company field empty.
    2) Put the company name in the field for "Street"
    3) Put the street address, including Apt. # in the field for "City"
    4) Now, put the City, State, and Postal Code all in one field: the field for "Country".
    5) save the card.
When printing labels, proceed as follows:
    1) Print>File>choose your Avery label under "Layout" and then click "Label."
    2) Here, you make sure to check the box so it will "Print country." Don't forget this step, or the whole plan is a failure.
This works, but it only works if the card is in-putted as described above. It won't work if your cards are already set-up with the "company" field and the "name" field.

  • Printing labels with no address

    this is driving me mad.
anyone any idea how to print a load of address labels for people who don't have addresses?
ie people who i will actually see and can actually give them their christmas cards.
i thought i was being organised by creating a little christmas card group in address book. but it only wants to print out the ones of people whose addresses i know. this is very annoying. why can't i do it?
i suppose i could just write xxxx in the address field and then i guess it would print. but do people want to be given a card that says, "sally smith, xxxx" ???!!!?
maybe i'll just put "happy christmas" in the address field. will that work?
ok, maybe i've solved my own problem here. but there must be a better way of doing it ...
    any ideas.
    thanks.

I've found no way to do this from address book. Printing labels from address book is just simple list style printing ** fill the sheet with names and print. I see no way to insert blank information like I use to do in Clairworks in order to skip rows and columns. If you need to repeat names or print only certain columns and rows, then you would need to do that from another program. I have no recomendations since I haven't used any, but I'm sure there are many out there and probably a lot that are free to download.
What I do is print out full sheets of mailing labels on the ones I used repeatedly, such as my return address, electric bill, water bill, etc. I used appleworks in the past, but now it no longer works under Lion, so I will have to make new sheets, probably from Word.
For all others addresses that are not used frequently, I've resorted to just running my envelopes throught the printer.

  • Adobe Reader 9 and printing labels with USPS.

I have read some of the other posts about Adobe Reader 9 and printing labels with USPS. I am running Snow Leopard on my IMac with Adobe reader 9.1.3 and have had no problems only when using Mozilla Firefox 3.5.3 for the Mac. There is, however, an extra step, if I recall (some window asking me to make a selection, which came up after I clicked on the "print and bill" button). But everything worked just fine.

    Hi,
Thank you for the quick response. I've done that but the problem persists.
A bit about my computer it's Vista, but the folders are a little weird. Default install directory and common files folders are on a different drive. In addition appdata are also on a different drive. However this should not affect sinve I've already re-installed Adobe Reader multiple times and it used to work just fine.
But perhaps the problem is indeed path related. Anybody with more ideas to share?
    Thank you in advance.
Update: When I reinstall Adobe Reader and open the file, the first time I try to install Japanese font it does not end with "registering product" but with something like "removing backup files" (see attachment). If I try to install Japanese font again and again, I will get the "registering product" at the final glimpse of the installation pop-up.

    Hello together,
could anyone post a sample vi which enables printing labels (barcodes, datamatrix code, ...) with LabView

    Hi JLS,
thanks for the answer. I agree with you that closing the references is the best und most stable solution. But it is really slow. I made an exe but this is also slow.
But apart from this, the VI is running well, even with a handing over of variables. I guess this is one of the first VIs in the net which combines LV with
    Codesoft from Teklynx.
    Thanks, Thomas.
PS: I made a wrong click on the rating of your last post. Sorry. I guess I rated it too bad.
Well, this is easily solved with an intelligent global buffer VI or as they are also often called a LabVIEw 2 style global. I use them quite often for all kinds of reasons including to avoid globals in my programs almost 100% but this is one of the cases where they are also very handy.
Basically you write a VI that has a while loop, and a case structure inside. The while loop normally only executes once. One or more uninitialized shift registers store different values that can be reused on each call to that VI. The case selector is wired to an enum (I make them always strict typedefed) on the front panel and that one is connected to the connector pane of the VI.
Make the enum have init, print, close items and in the respective case frame do the opening of the refnum in the init case and anything else you need to do once at initialization time storing the refnum to the right shift register terminal. In the close case do everything to close done the software and then close the refnum coming from the right shift register terminal itself passing a Not A Refnum to the right shift register terminal. The print case uses the refnum from the right shift register terminal too, does all that is necessary to do printing and then stores the refnum back to the right shift register terminal. You now have an intelligent manager function for your interface to the printing software.
The init case is called somewhere during initialization of your application while the close case is called somwehre when you close your application. A variant is to combine the init and print case but forst test for the refnum to be Not A Refnum (comparison palette) and in that case do the initialization first, otherwise just do the printing. The advantage with this is that the Codesoft interface is only initialized if you really need it.
There is one caveat for this if you use dynamic top level VIs to implement for instance test steps or deamon like operation. LabVIEW remembers the top level VI under whom a refnum was opened and automatically closes refnums when that top level VI goes idle (stops running). So you would need to make sure that the initialization is done in the main hierarchy that is guaranteed to run for the entire time that your interface is required.
I have included a small archive containing an API for Codesoft 7 that also supports variable query and substitution in templates. It is an older version of something I'm currently using and not very well tested as is, but the newer version is a lot more involved and complicated and not suited to be put here. I also included another archive showing a version of such an intelligent manager buffer function using that API.
