Does new ERIS update provide access to Epocrates?

I foolishly believed the Verizon store clerk who told me I'd have access to Epocrates because the ERIS operating system would be updated within a month... back in April. When it finally did come out, the update was so bad that Verion recommended we not install it. Now a new update is available but it's not clear from the notice whether it really gets us up to the 2.0 threshold required to run Epocrates. Does anyone know if the new ERIS update will provide access to Epocrates?

The new update is only a bug-fix for the 2.1 update, if you couldn't run it before, you can't run it now...unless, of course, you were still on 1.5.

I was just lurking around on AndroidForums and it looks like some Eris owners there started receiving a new OTA update today, including some who had installed the leaked versions of 2.1. No word yet on whether or not this will fix the silent call bug that is driving so many users bonkers. It doesn't seem to have fixed the time w/o signal or number of signal bars, but those are really non-issues anyway. I know you probably don't want to hear this, but those with problems might want to give it a few days to see if it comes through and see if it helps. If you do have problems, I would suggest a factory reset after you install this, give it a shot without a task killer and if things don't get better, by all means, get a warranty replacement. Good luck to all fellow Eris owners.

Just read this post (below) that came out today. Apparently Verizon is pushing an "update" over the next week to fix the 2.1 distasters/bugs, but it's not an Android 2.2 upgrade.

now i have had my 1st generation eris for about 3 years and its only bin updated twice on its android system and im the one that usually gives the advice on the eris but i cant figure tis one ut the last time it updated itself was nevomber 2010 and it only updated to 2.1 and in order to install adobe falshplayer u have to have 2.2 so does any1 know????

The DROID Eris will never get an official Android 2.2 build. Also the ARMv6 processor is not supported by Adobe, so full Flash won't be available either. The closest thing on the phone is the Flash Lite already installed on the phone.
There was a radio update for the DROID Eris in March 2011. You can check for that update now by going to Settings > about phone > check for updates.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

After contacting Apple, I received a reply from their engineers:
Copy QTMovieWin.dll from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
And that did the trick.

Yes, but both you and the person you are texting must be on iOS 5.

AIR is not required for the new silent update feature. You also won't ever have third party applications added without first being allowed to opt out.

Ah yes school boy error there out of frustration and discontent..
My issue is with music/apps/films etc not downloading from iTunes / App Store.
They initially fail and message is displayed stating unable to download / purchase at this time, yet if I retry it says I've already purchased (?) or alternatively I go to the purchased section and there they are waiting with the cloud symbol..
However some items get frozen in the download window and cannot be retried or deleted. Message appears stating to tap to retry, but even if you stole every bath and sink in the uk you'd still not have enough taps.
I post here as the iTunes guys are useless in there 'help' and have only advised posting here or phoning apple, at my expense, to explain a problem that could be rectified by forwarding my original email to a techie. However the tech team apparently don't have an email address as they're from ye olde Middle Ages..!
Anyways I digress.
So I tried sync to pc, but instead of showing the file as ready to listen/use/view, the iCloud symbol shows and I'm back to square one as the item is unable to download..
At frustration station waiting for a train from pain...
All my software is up to date, and had all worked fine prior to the last big iOS update that resulted in all the changes in display and dismay.

Resolution
Move the mouse or trackpad cursor over the center area of the login window so you can see the user icons. Click on the icon of the user that you would like to login as, type in the user's password, and press Return.
If the login window is configured to show only the name and password fields, type in the user's name and password into the fields, and press Return (even if you cannot see the rest of the login window).
Additional Information
This issue will not occur if the display is not sleeping when the account is logged out. Use the steps below to confirm that the account is not configured to log out automatically while the display is sleeping:
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General. Click the padlock to unlock the preference pane and enter your admin password. Click the Advanced button at the bottom, then see if the option "Log out after N minutes of inactivity" (where N is the number of minutes) is enabled.
Open System Preferences > Energy Saver and configure Display Sleep to occur after the account is logged out, by dragging the slider to a number of minutes that is greater than N was set to in the previous step.
Important: If automatic log out is not needed, disable "Log out after Nminutes of inactivity" in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General. This will also prevent the issue.
