Does anyone know if the new Zen Player had video out for television? I know the Zen vision W has, but what about the Zen player?

No iOS device has had video out through the headphone jack since....the model of the Classic since before the current one? I admit to not being entirely sure on when it was dropped. None of the current devices (iPad, iPod or iPhone) have that capability.

New zen player avi vi

Does anyone know why the new zen player doesnt support avi video format? My friend has a Zen Vision M 30 GB and?his entire library is in AVI format because his player supports them. Why the switch and loss of support on the new Zen? I thought it wasnt supposed to matter what resolution the file was in as well? One of the main selling points to me was the ability to drag and drop files to the player without conversion. I just got mine yesterday and all in all its a bad a$$ little player, its just these two hang ups that make ease of use slightly more difficult and time consuming. Thanks

Cat mentioned in another thread by me (posted a link to the Creative UK site, actually) that the new Zen supports video formats at 320 x 240 resolution.
I can confirm that this is true. I have quite a number of videos in DivX format that play on my Zen Vision W, but wouldn't play on my new Zen.
I converted several of the videos to 320 x 240 DivX format using WinAvi and the resulting videos play beautifully on my new Zen. Sure it's an extra step but it DOES work.

My brand new Zen player br

So I bought myself a shiny new Zen player December 23 as a nice Christmas gift. I carried it with me on a skiing trip a couple of days after that and used it while going down the mountains. I liked the cool features it had, like really good sound quality, a bright screen and a neat user interface. Also the battery life was impressi've and good software came bundled with the player. My Zen player made my skiing trip something special.
Fast forward to December 3 and new years eve. I had decided to hang out at a friends house and with a bunch of people to celebrate the new year. He li'ves across town so I rocked some tunes on my Zen on the subway to his place. The ride felt a lot shorter than it is, thanks to all the good music. When I well arri'ved I carefully put the player in my jacket pocket, hoping to use my little buddy while taking the subway home, after the new years party.
A half an hour into the party I realize that my friends playlist for the night consists of the downloaded ITunes music on his sisters MacBook. I quickly decide that we're gonna have the Zen DJ a little session and run upstairs to go fetch it. But upon turning it on the screen looks all white and flickering, I had heard of some players needing to be reset if this occurs, but nothing could help my little buddy! I tried resetting it and even reformatting it back home, nothing helped.
I finally returned it to the place where I got it to see why it had suddenly broken down like that. The guy stared at me and said that it looked like the had been pressure applied to it, causing the screen to break. I concurred that it in fact looked brand new and had no visible marks on it - so they decided to send it off to the repair service to get it checked out.
A couple of days later the store calls me and says the repair service confirmed their suspicions that some pressure had been applied to the screen. Very odd since I only left it in my jacket pocket for 30 minutes before returning to go get it on new years eve. Also he says that it isn't covered by Creatives product guarantee, but they've offered to replace the screen for 90$. I decide to let my little buddy go and tell the store to do whatever they want to do with it (I would hope they cremate it, but you never know).
I am sad that my little buddy is gone now... but I will always remember our ski trip together.

There are things you can do however since it is only 2 days since you got it return it. If it's not working properly now it may just be the start of more issues.

I'm pretty sure it just collates all the Regions on each Track to give one file per Track. This would imply that automation would not be included.
To be certain, you could make up a quick Project with one Region & an automated fade, & see what happens; but I would bet you just get the audio, not the automation.

You can do this if you create a key with your face or start with green screening it.
Use a garbage matte if it is static.

Brand new ZEN player - always turning itself

Hi, I bought my new ZEN 4GB mp3 player just a week ago. Now it started to turn itself off while I'm listening to music:angry:. When I turn it on again it just continues playing where it stopped. the "turning off" intervall is appr. 5 min.
Does anyone know how I can stop it doing this?!?! It's really annoying!!!!

New Zen player, something wr

Hi just got a new Zen Micro on Friday. It was working fine for the 5 minutes I used it during the weekend. Come this morning Im walking to the train, I turn it on,and all I see is the screen light up and the word "Creative." that s it, nothing else. The backlight won't turn off and I had to take the battery out. I called customer support and performed a clean up, a scan and a reboot and I still have the same thing. What could be wrong? I just got this in the mail on Friday and didn't even leave the house with it until today. I kept it plugged in all weekend to make sure the battery was charged as well. Any suggestions? This is very distressing.

No, not yet. I'm at work now and will have to wait until I get home to do it. I guess that's my last option. It's just so upsetting to have this brand new thing that I paid $200 for and not have it work!

Why does new Illustrator doc have XMP OriginalDocumentId?

When I create a new doc in Illustrator and immediately view the XMP metadata, this document always has a xmpMM:OriginalDocumentID and a xmpMM:DerivedFrom structure. Why is that? I would expect that this document only gets a xmpMM:DocumentID and a xmpMM:InstanceID.
Even worse, all new Illustrator documents have the same xmpMM:OriginalDocumentID. So maybe that's happening, because they are internally all derived from the same template? But from an XMP perspective, this means they are all based on the same original work, which is, of course, not true.
This is not happening in Photoshop. A new document has no xmpMM section at all and only gets one when it is saved (but without xmpMM:OriginalDocumentID and no xmpMM:DerivedFrom structure).
The Illustrator behaviour seems to be inconsistent and breaks my XMP-based workflow. Is there any reason for this strange behaviour?

I think the startup profiles are part of the problem. They probably have their own xmpMM:DocumentID and when creating a new file based on such a profile, the new file inherits the template's DocumentID as OriginalDocumentID.
Also, there is no way in Adobe UIs to delete those OriginalDocumentIDs. I probably would need to use a command-line tool such as exiftool. But this is hopefully not the intended way of working with it.

With the new OS5 I have no video playlists

With the new OS5 I can not use my video playlists any longer, since the video playlists are no longer synchronized. Is there an alternative? It's not about playlists for the videos in the camera role (here Video Roll would do the job), but for video clips. Thanks!

I don’t have a solution for the issue of video playlists being removed from OS5 but I sure hope Apple returns the feature. The Video player app only shows thumbnails alphabetically. It does not provide a list view option that can be sorted by date created as the Playlists can. Neither does it allow a way to sort the videos into categories like family, work, sports, etc. Playlists are great for this. IMO, the removal of video playlists was a really BAD decision.

I have a friend who is looking for a 5GB player, and he's trying to decide between the Dell Pocket DJ and the Zen Micro. I have recommended the Micro to him, but I'd like to know, does it have EAX?
Also, if anyone knows, is there gonna be a 0GB version anytime soon?

Do you have an iPad 2 or the new iPad and the Digital AV Adapter (the one with HDMI)? Those are required for Hulu to be able to output to a TV, from what I read.

Why does Fast Color Corrector have a Mask Output option?

Fast Color Corrector has a Mask Output option. In other effects the Mask Output option is used to see the mask created with the Secondary Color Correction feature within the effects. Fast Color Corrector does not have a Secondary Color Correction option.

The Three-way Color Corrector Master wheel does not work the same way as the Fast Color Corrector color wheel. I think the Three-way Color Corrector Master control, overall, doesn't work properly. Try the following:
1) In the Three-way Color Corrector, select the Master Tonal Range and reduce Saturation to 0. There is still plenty of color information present.
2) With the Master Tonal Range selected, drag the Master Balance Magnitude to 100 degrees (keeping the Master Balance Gain at its default 20). Do the same with the Fast Color Corrector (using the same Balance Angle) and note how differently they behave. The Fast Color Corrector changes hue over all luminance levels. The Three-way Color Corrector Master control adjusts hue over what appears to be a sub-set of full luminance.
One other color wheel characteristic that I find confounding:
In most color wheels, 0 degrees is Red, 120 is Green, and 240 is blue. The numeric values increase counter-clockwise. OK, that is the norm. So why is it that with P Pro color wheels, Red is -110 degrees, Green is 130, and blue is 10? Or...looking at compass points: on the P Pro Color wheel, North is -90 degrees, East is minus or plus 0 degrees, South is 90, West is minus or plus 180?

Can't have audio & video from 2 different sources?

Hey guys,
I'm working on a project in iMovie and what I want to do is display a clip of myself talking into the camera (video & audio) and then half way through, switch the video to a Keynote slide graphic WITH the audio of me speaking into the camera still playing behind the slide.
I tried to do this but when I inserted the Keynote slide iMovie made me do a voice over with my built in mic. Is there any way what I can insert the Keynote slide AND have the audio from my camera playing at the same time?

What is the source of your photo? If it is a dedicated still, say from iPhoto, you should be able to do what AppleMan1958 has explained - I just tested it and it works as described.
However, if the still has been created from a video clip, either as a freeze frame in your Project, or as a still from an Event which has been added to your Project - you need to apply some extra steps.
Right-click (Control-click) on the still in your Project and select "Reveal in Finder". Open the still in Preview and Save As a jpeg with a different name to your Desktop. Drag this still into iMovie over the clip where you wish to place the Cutaway. The pop-up menu will now show "Cutaway" as an option. Using this method, my test worked perfectly.
As an option to dragging from the Desktop, it's a good idea to import the renamed still to iPhoto first, then you can drag it from iMovie's Photo Pane (bottom right corner) in the normal manner. This avoids iMovie not being able to locate the still later if you've moved it from the Desktop (or trashed it).

Your question was a little hard to understand:
The little apple logo is usually on the upper left.
Just so we are understanding each other, I think what you must be looking at is:
Apple Menu → About this Mac → Storage. At least that's what it looks like on my Mac.
If there are media files listed, then you must have put them there.
They are probably in:
Your Computer/Your boot drive/Users/Your user account/ , and in there, there are folders for Movies, Music, and Pictures.
Navigating on a Mac is done via an app called The Finder, which will usually appear in the Dock (the strip that is usually at the bottom of your screen), as the first icon the left, which looks like a blue and white square with a face logo. (clicking on the Finder is similar to what happens on a PC if you do Start Menu → Computer or if you use the PC app Windows Explorer).
These are the most likely folders based on the default locations for things. But they may be in different locations depending on where you put them.
You should have a backup before you go deleting things, in case you delete something that you shouldn't, which may happen if you are inexperienced.
If you need help with doing a backup or if you need more guidance finding the files let us know.
