Does not keep accurate miles when running
I was wondering if anybody else has this problem with the 7th generation nano not accurately calculating miles ???
Go on a run that is, either 1 mile or 1/4 mile, I forgot, and then at the finish of the workout, scroll down, or up, I forgot again, and press calibrate. Wait- press the one mile run button then scroll and calibrate after going one mile. Sorry about being so unsure, I sold mine awhile ago so it is foggy in my head.

Why does Firefox 7 does not find Java1.6 when running on a Win2000 PC

When going to the menu Tools->Add-Ons->Plugins Java is not there.I have Avira Free. I've been using it, Windows 7 and Firefox on this machine for two years through multiple updates of Firefox. Never had this problem before the update to version 10 came out. I do have Secunia software running too, which occasionally jumps in and tells me when stuff is out-of-date, including Firefox. I just uninstalled Firefox 3.6, and did a total new reinstall, and am for sure running version 10 now. Yet Secunia thinks that I have out-of-date 3.6 which needs updating. So something is being left behind.

IPages does not keep page setup when I save as template
I have created both an envelope and a 4 x 6 note card in Page Layout, both LANDSCAPE with custom, named, paper sizes, and saved both as a template in My Templates. In both cases, when I start a new project using either template, the page setup has the orientation as PORTRAIT and paper size as OTHER. How can I make sure the Page Setup options are saved in the template?

I have made a sample card and it works as expected.
+Menu > File > Page Setup… > check Orientation vertical > click on the plus button > make a new custom page 6" wide x 4" high > Name and save+
Design and Save As Template.
I think you have got confused with the orientation in the custom and Print As… options. They work together.
When the orientation is vertical, the measures must be width and height as you see it on your desktop.
Landscape orientation rotates the page just as you see it in the little icon, effectively turning it on its side.
It all has to do with which way it is fed into the printer. Horizontal custom + vertical feed = Vertical custom + landscape feed.

About a month ago I added some new audio books to my iPod Classic and then after disconnecting, I discovered EVERYTHING had been erased.
I had to restore through my iTunes but then I could not load my music back on.
I uninstalled / reinstalled iTunes and completely reformated the iPod drive.
I successfully got my music and books back on but then added a new book two days ago only to discover everything got erased AGAIN!!!
Of course, my 1 Year Warranty was up about a week before the first incident.....
I formatted the iPod again, uninstalled / reinstalled iTunes (it was freezing during sync) and downloaded all my music and books again.
Now I have several books that will not play (they play on iTunes and they played on the iPod before all these events) and the iPod does not keep track of where I was in a book when I have to stop and go to something else.
Does anyone know what is going on with this thing??? I have a 5th Gen Video and in all the years I've had it, I've NEVER had problems like this!
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get my iPod Classic up and running properly again?
Thanks.When iTunes/iPod sync process failed due to timeout, the iPod, has only the initilaised filesytem structure at the start of the Sync.
The timeout failure could be due to
Bad hardisk - do the iPod disk diagnostic, refer to this excellent post by tt2
Slow USB port or resource - Dont use any USB hub, disconnect all other USB devices while syncing
Timeout due to Antivirus or other plugins - disconnect from Internet and stop the Antivirus or monitoribng software if you are syncing.
Preferably stop doing other things while syncing this ancient device, which the latest iTunes designer, think will soon be extinct.

Firefox does not appear on screen when started from the start menu or the shortcuts, but task manager says the process is running.
No - I get the message basically saying "Can't run program while Firefox is running. Please close down Firefox & try again".
I rebooted my computer and it all works now - but that's weird it was happening before. Kinda weirded out that it happened at all.
To avoid that happening again, I still wanna know what to do to avoid it or fix it for next time. Thanks -

there are times when I try to start firefox 3.6 that it does not come up,but when I click it again, I get fire fox is running but not responding, close fire fox, or shut down computer. There are other times that it starts up normally wit no probs
..Not using any mouse pad, I have a very smooth desktop. But I just tried to use a sheet of A4 printing paper, but no result, the problem persisted.
Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!

my program does not work properly. I run the program but it is not capable of adding any of my ebooks and when I connect my ereader, it recognises the device but it does not add any ebook either.
I uninstalled the program and reinstalled again but nothing gone better-

FontBook does not keep settings after computer restart
I have thousands of fonts on my HD folder, and a standards set of System and Library fonts. Any time I disactivate and acivate certain font families, my FontBook keeps these settings (for activation and disactivation) ONLY UNTILL next computer restart cycle.
After restart, when I load my FontBook application to check my fonts settings (for to make the fonts I set previously working again), Fontbook starts activating all my thousands fonts in my custom library, taking munites of waiting for a spinning wheel. I also do not see (off) signs for fonts diactivated during previous session. I see lots of duplicate font warning because Font Book is auto-activate all.
Consiquently, I have to reppeat all the process of activation/disactivation and to help my computer working with less fonts load and resolve duplicates.

Creative Zen 8GB not keeping accurate time on cl
Hello, I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing problems with thier Creative Zen's (mine is an 8GB) not keeping accurate time on the digital clock on the player? My firmware is .2.0 by the way. I have a fully charged battery and noticed yesterday that the time on my clock was way off and needed to be set once more. So I set it correctly yesterday, now 24 hours later, the time is again way off...it thinks it's :6 pm even though it's 0:20 pm as I post this message.
I have noticed this several times previously and have adjusted the clock accordingly each time...this is not just a random incident.
I have used the player for several hours today but the battery still has lots of charge left and the unit functions correctly minus this time issue.
Any feedback or help would be appreciated.

DrewI too hope that if others are having this problem that they would add their comments to this thread. I know this is a rather small issue, but it is annoying none the less. I mean otherwise my player is rock solid. Yes I could turn off the display of the clock and not rely on it at all (now I don't because it's always wrong) but that means I am settling for a product that does not work as advertised with ALL it's features working correctly. I am being kind of picky but I just want the product to function correctly... I don't think that's being too out of the ordinary with my expectations.
Anyhow, to make a long story short, I have been issued an RMA number and plan on sending the player off to Creative here in Canada.
I promised to post a follow-up with a copy of what Creative has sent me for correspondence in case others are interested. Oh and just to be complete, here are my answers to the suggested self-troubleshooting methods in the following email - yes I am running the latest firmware release and I am a clock setting professional now because I have done it so many times.
I have also searched this forum for other users who may be having this issue and I did not find too many (I found this interesting). So that is why I created this thread. I am starting to notice, at least at this time, a few others who are having similar experiences as I-yup I agree I am not the first to have problems with my MP3 player nor the last. Just was curious to see if this was a common problem or if I was the lucky one of the bunch or one that people just didn't bother to report...

If you're having trouble making changes to files that are inside your home folder (represented by a house icon in the sidebar of a Finder window), or if you can't get changes to the settings of an application to stick, then please see below.
Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.

The Porblem here is the application is seen started in visual administrator.Only restart brings up the page back.
