Does not run from My Documents

I tried putting SQL Developer into My Documents so I can run it from any PC I am logged onto. Unfortunately is starts and quickly disappears without any error.
The My Documents folder is on a network drive that is always available when I log onto a PC. It is not always mapped to specific drive letter.
I have successfully ran it from a network drive that I map to each PC.
Any ideas on how to make it work from My Documents?

I also have my SQL Dev installed on a network drive and have a space in my path and it starts fine for me. However, I always have a drive letter assigned to the network path.
If you don't always have a drive letter, I assume you have a UNC based shortcut (such as \\server\<sqldev path>\sqldeveloper.exe). One of my colleagues had problems with using this sort of shortcut, but not when using a drive letter based shortcut.
Not that this will help you if you can't get a consistent drive mapping from all PCs you might use, but it might explain where the problem is coming from.

Why does vi execute in HIGHLIGHT mode only? Does not RUN from front panel

This is extraordinarily puzzling to me...
The attached vi sends a serial command to a motor controller. Command has the form /1V5500P0R, where the /1 means "motor 1", 5500 is the velocity, and the P0 means "rotate positive direction" and R means RUN (do the command).
When I run the VI from the front panel, the motor does not respond. The correct command string appears in the String indicator box, but, the motor does not turn on. HOWEVER, when I use either HIGHLIGHT EXECUTION, or I SINGLE STEP through the block diagram, the vi works perfectly. It issues the correct command the motor runs properly after stepping over VISA WRITE to VISA CLOSE... The VI accepts any velocity command I want to put in the NUMERIC control on the front panel.
I tried putting the code into a WHILE loop to see if that made any difference...and it does not.
What is happening?

Your suggestion about use of the WAIT VISA function works, however, I am reluctant to use it because I do not want to slow down the application. The application accepts two inputs and creates the one serial output, and the faster it does this, the better for my application.
I had no problem running these VI's on my old PC in Labview 2011. The new PC requires this WAIT function. There is software provided by the hardware manufacturer to manually send the SERIAL commands, and it works fine on both PCs.
New PC is Intel(R) core(TM) i3-2230 CPU @ 2.2GHz, 3G RAM 64 bit processor and Labview 2012
Old PC is Intel (R) Pentium (R) M Processor 1.73GHz, .99G RAM, 32 bit processor and Labview 2011
Understand that in the attached VI, only a single serial command is being sent, so, is it possible that backlogging or overloading of the device can occur from a single serial command? This does not happen with the manufacturer's interface. The attached vi works with the 10ms wait time. This VI is one of a family of VI's that I wrote and operated in Labview 2011 on the old PC, and all of the worked fine without the WAIT function. Now, none of them will run in either Labview 2011 or Labview 2012 without the WAIT in the VISA as shown in the attached VI.
Do you really think that the command is being sent too quickly? The device communicates over the RS485 bus at 9600 baud, 1 Stop bit, No Parity, No flow control. How can a single string be sent too quickly?

Mdt 2012 sp1 command line does not run from task sequence

Hi,
I am hoping I can explain this correctly. I am using MDT 2012 and having an issue with running command lines, powershell and batch files that I setup.
The task sequence is set to use an account called "MDTService". it has rights to join the domain but is not in the local admin group of the reference image. a domain GPO renames the local admin account CoAdmin.
when running a command line to, for example, run xcopy a folder and subdirectories to the "program Files x86" directory, it does not copy.
When I log on to the system and use an admin account to manually run the command I do not have an issue. if I log onto the system with the MDTService user and run it, it fails.
How do I get the commands to run from the MDT task sequence? I do not want to make the MDTService user an admin. I have tried the run as option in the task sequence but that did not work. maybe is set it wrong. I used a domain\Admin
account which did not work.
what can I clarify or logs can I post to provide more details.

Report does not run from Reports Server 6.0

When running a report via the Reports Server (6.0)
the report is not executed.
When checking the queue with rwrqv60 it says that
status is enqueued.
No other jobs exists in the queue. No changes has been
done in the servers config-file (rep60_test.ora).
Why isn't the job run?
Anyone got any clues?

this sounds a bit like you might be having a generalised problem with the sound card, or drivers on the PC (given that nothing is making any noise at the moment).
let's quickly check up on something. go to your "Sounds and Audio Devices" control panel, and click the audio tab.
is the correct default device showing up in "Sound playback"?

Does not print from online documents

Using mozilla 3.something, Had quite a struggle to download driver basic from HP for D7360, finally got it and now can print

AutoPlay does not run when inserting disk

System: dv7-1285dx
Vista Home Premium 64 bit SP1
When inserting a disk into the dvd drive AutoPlay does not run.
The information on the disk can be accessed through windows explorer by right clicking on the drive letter and choosing
open. The contents of the disk are displayed and can be accessed but windows does not recognise whether the disk
is video or data.
AutoPlay does not run from Windows Explorer.
In control panel > autoplay the "Use AutoPlay for all media and devices" is checked, all media have options other than
"take no action".
The driver for the DVD player has been unistalled and reinstalled with no effect.
Disks burned with the drive behave normally on other computers.
AutoPlay runs properly for any device plugged into a USB port.
Any ideas of what to try next?

Applescript run from Mail rule does not run

I am attempting to run an Applescript from a Mail rule. Basically, the Applescript does not run.
Stripped to the bare essentials, the following script runs fine when Applying a rule in Mail:

But, when I remove the comments from the block lifted verbatim from the Applescript manual:

the script does not even say Hello.
I am trying to go as far as having the Applescript create a new ToDo based on specific incoming emails, but I can't get any but the simplest Applescript to run.
Can anyone help me?

The script works just fine - at least, as designed if not as expected.
When the script runs, Mail and/or AppleScript looks for a perform mail action handler. If that is found, the commands within are executed.
If there is no perform mail action handler then the script is run as-is (i.e. as if you clicked 'Run' in AppleScript Editor).
And that's exactly what's happening here. In the first case (that works) the script is running because there's no (visible) perform mail action handler.
In the second case where it apparently doesn't work, there is a handler, so that handler is being executed. Any code outside that handler is ignored (unless it's called from within the perform mail action handler.
Since your 'say' command is outside the handler, it is ignored. However, if you move it inside the perform mail action handler you'll hear your speech.

Satellite P850-30W - Fan does not run after coming back from sleep mode

I got a Toshiba Satellite P850-30W with bios 1.90.
Sometimes the fan does not run at all after coming back from sleep mode on windows 7.
This has happened twice (maybe more times without me knowing), and Ive had the computers for a month.
Normally the fan starts running when the CPU gets over 50 celsius, and stops under 50 celisus...
I tried running Prime95 when this fan-issue occured and the computer temps got dangerously high (close to 100 degree)! the fan did not start at all
...this error could potentinally damage the laptop...
to get the fan running again I have to restart windows
anyone else experienced this?
I guess the fix would be to never use sleep-mode...or toshiba needs to fix it with a bios update.

No, it seems to be an L650 series. Its completely different series .

Well, in case it would be a BIOS issue, the problem would appear always and not sometimes after being shut down 200 times.
It could be a hardware related issue. Memory? Maybe

I'm sorry no-one has answered you yet - I'm afraid I don't know the answer to the question: but I wanted to put into your mind that starting up with AppleWorks at this stage isn't a good idea. The program was 'end-of-lifed' years ago, it won't run on Lion, and some of the document types created in it - Databases in particular - cannot be opened at all by any other program whatever. Word Processing documents can be opened in Pages, and Spreadsheets in Numbers (with some reservations in both cases), but building up a collection of AppleWorks documents at this stage is going to lead to problems later on.
It's difficult to know what to recommend for a PowerPC machine that would still be compatible with modern ones. An older version of Microsoft Office, perhaps, if you can find one which will run on PPC; but most of the modern Word Processors are Intel only. This is something you would need to investigate.

REPORT DOES NOT RUN CORRECTLY , URGENT PLEASE HELP

I am trying to run a report from visul basic screen, but it does not run correctly. Here is how I am running the report. There is a screen developed in VB This screen prompts the user for user id and password. Once it gets that, it connects to the oracle database and pulls out a column from a table. And passes that value as a parameter to the report. Now I am calling the the report for each individual value . There are 21 value being pulled out of the database and it invokes the report 21 times. So there are 21 report engines gets started. Is there a better way to do that ? Secondly when I pass the parameter , some parameters does not pass correctly I guess , because its not generating any out put . Like out of 21 may be 10 or 11 reports gets generated correctly but rest of the reports are blank. I debug the screen i saw that the parameter value is correct, everything seems good. But still the reports are comming blank. Any Idea why it is so ? The command line that i am using in VB screen is

In the above command " adoRecBrand!Brand " is the parameter thats being passed. This is actually a recordset and brand is the column in it. When I debug the screen , I see the value also there. But the report comes out blank. Please help. This is urgent.

The way you call reports is not scalable. If you have 100 records come back from database, you would end up launch 100 engines at the same times, which probably will blow up your machine. You should use oracle reports server to do that. You can either use rwcli60 to submit the job to reports server, or invoke rwcgi60 from URL.
I am afraid some of reports engine failed to start and you get nothing back in your case.
After switch to use reports server achitecture, if you still see some report is blank in your application, then you can run that report with that special set of parameters manually and see if any problem with the report itself.

Hi, are you saying that you start Firefox and it stalls -- you can see it in the Task Manager but it never displays -- but if you kill that process and start Firefox again it starts up properly that second time?
If you look at the statistics available in the Task Manager's processes tab such as bytes read or other bytes, can you see whether Firefox is doing anything at all? ''Note: You might need to add columns if your Processes tab isn't set up to display statistics. You can do that from the View menu.''

Lightroom 5.6 does not run following latest CC Photoshop 2014 and Bridge updates

I am running Creative Cloud Photography on OSX 10.9.4. Yesterday I updated Photoshop 2014 and Bridge using the CC desktop app as prompted by CC. Since then Lightroom does not run. When I open it the blue intro screen flashes up for less than a second. To try and recover I have uninstalled Lightroom (5.6) and re-installed it several times using both the CC app and directly from the Adobe website. The result is always the same. I can find nothing about this on Adobe Support although I can find others who have had the same symptoms on a web search. Their solution was to re-install Lightroom from the web site but that hasn't worked for me. I had Lightroom installed before I went to CC and before CC included Lightroom in the Photography package. Does anyone understand this issue and can you please advise me what to try next? Many thanks.

Okay, Solution 1 from this link Error "Unable to start correctly - 0Xc00007b" fixed it for me. But now it's asking me for the serial number which I can't find anywhere... shouldn't that go without with the cloud?

Finder does not run properly after starting up [Mountain Lion]

I've installed MountainLion from Snow Leopard 10.6.8
My Mac is Macbook7,1 (Macbook White) Intel Core 2 Duo
When the installation finish, it seems like Finder does not run. I have to click on the Finder icon on the Dock to make it run.
And then I got some of problem after that
1. When I Click "About This Mac", nothings happen.
2. When I Click "Restart...", "Shutdown..." or "Sleep", nothings happen. So, I have to Shutdown or Restart my Macbook from "Login Window..." only.
3. Some of my settings in "System Preferences" do not be saved. Such as Trackpad settings (I can't "Tap to Click" in every time I start up my Macbook, I have to use physical click instead.) and Spotlight Hotkey settings (When I switch the Language, the Spotlight is popping up.)
I'm not sure what is the cause of these problem.

I forgot to mention (and add a new level of strangeness) that Mail is retreiving all of my messages from my personal (AT&T) account without issue.
And I just discovered an even bigger problem: all of my emails from my Sent and other folders from my work account are completely gone!
I may have no choice but to revert to my Lion system as of yesteday, before I installed ML.

The present task is configured so that no values are analyzed in transaction currency. However, the option "per transaction currency" is selected in the method definition. This only makes sense if you also want to analyze the values in transaction currency.

I would like to know, in the document also in properties tab - in Key figures - Check box - Transaction Currency. If i select the warning message not coming. So kindly let me know what exactly check box -Transaction currency is used in Document type and whether it is interlinked with Method.

OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 Does Not Run Smoothly

Hi,
I just upgraded my iMac and MBP from the Mac OS X ML 10.8.5 to the latest OS X Mavericks 10.9.3.
The new system does not run smoothly.
No matter it's the iMac or the MBP, the screen freezes for a very short of time whenever I try to switch to a different running program(especially when I try to switch to other programs from the Safari).
So what's causing the problem? What should I do about it?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
