Does Office 2011 work with Mavericks?

First, I just dragged my Office 2011 from my old MacBook Pro (which runs Mountain Lion) to my new Air (which is newly running Mavericks).  It wouldn't open.  So, I downloaded it (using my product key) and installed it.  It still won't open.  Suggestions?  Thanks.

That's the problem
You can't drag it there you have to install it
Remove all elements you dragged and installed, and restart from scratch with a genuine install.
Yes office 2011 works on Mavericks

  • Does microsoft office 2011 work with mountain lion?

Was wondering if Microsoft Office 2011 works with Mountain Lion since the 1997 version does not.

Okay, I will try that.  It looks like I have installed it twice already.  An obvious novice. I will do it again though.

does microsoft office 2011 work with lion

...since upgrading from a Macbook pro to a retina pro (with the latest OS) I cannot get Outlook to work, it freezes when I try to add my email accounts info...
The latest OS is 10.8.2. You've posted in the Lion (OS 10.7.x) forum.
...I don't have a clue what can be going wrong, it was all working fine on my macbook pro with Snow Leopard and the same setup is not working with Mountain Lion on the retina, ...The only reason I upgraded from Office 2008 was because I couldn't get it to stop closing down every few seconds with 'a problem'...
Different operating systems canNOT be the "same setup."
In my original installation of Office 2011 on a 2007 MBP with OS 10.6.8, I followed the guidelines Tips for a Successful Install. In launching Outlook 2011 for the first time, it recognized that I had Entourage 2004 and I was chose the option to have all the data transferred to Outlook 2011. While that was well over a year ago, I'm fairly certain that I did not need to manually set up my multitude of existing email accounts. Subsequently, I've added new accounts. A couple of months ago, I got a new mid-2012 MBP (non-retina) with OS 10.7.4. I used Pondini's advice , which I found here in the Apple Support Community for OS 10.7, to setup the new MBP from the old MBP with Setup Assistant. Afterwards, I manually installed my applications. I am certain that I did not need to manually setup any email accounts when I launched Outlook 2011.
That said, if you did not fix the problem that you were experiencing with Office 2008 (and more specifically Entourgage 2008) but migrated that data to your new rMBR, then your problem may lie within the old data. You have not provided information on how you installed Office 2011, if your setup of Outlook is as new or datea ported from Entourage, and what troubleshooting steps you have tried. As Kurt Lang suggested, the Microsoft Community would be best with your specific issues as stated.

  • Does Quicken 2007 work with Mavericks?

Does Quicken 2007 work with Mavericks? I'm holding off upgrading my wife's system to Maveicks until I know Quicken 2007 still works with it. She uses Quicken all the time.

    IJC9 wrote:
I called Intuit.  They told me that Quicken 2007 (16.1.4 - the upgrade for Mountain Lion) would work in a limited capacity on Mavericks - but that they would neither guarantee this, nor support it.  They said that it should work for simple tasks like checkbook balancing/ writing checks, etc. but that it will probably NOT work for online banking or coordination with credit cards or investment tracking, etc.
Well that is a direct contradiction to what they say on their website.
    http://quicken.intuit.com/support/help/shopping-and-buying/is-quicken-supported- on-mavericks-/GEN85978.html
    "Is Quicken Supported on Mavericks?
    Updated: 10/23/2013 | Article ID: GEN8597
Apple released their latest operating system, OS X 10.9 (code named Mavericks).  Lion Compatible Quicken for Mac 2007 (16.1.4) and Quicken Essentials Mac (1.7.4) are fully supported on OS X 10.9.
There are four known minor issues confirmed to occur with Quicken Essentials for Mac running OS X 10.9"
So I call bullhockey nonsense on your phone call to Intuit. And I am using Quicken 2007 16.1.4 on my iMac running OS X Mavericks and it works without issues. Everything works. Notice the "fully supported" statement? Misinformation is rampant on the Internet. Phone calls to tech support are iffy at best. They rarely know what is going on.
QUICKEN 2007 16.1.4 WORKS JUST FINE ON MAVERICKS. HOW DO I KNOW FOR SURE? I AM USING IT MYSELF!

  • Does Office 2007 work with CVI automation

We've used Office with CVI with varying degrees of success over the years, typically to generate reports or to populate excel spreadsheets with measured data.
Now I'm running XP SP3 and Office 2007 with CVI 2009.
Office 2007 seems to be so significantly different from previos versions, I'm wondering if it's use is supported with CVI?
CVI 2009 still refers to "Excel2000.fp" for example, will it work with Excel 2007?  The help mentions that it will work with "Excel 2000 and later compatible versions".
In the past as I recall NI's position is "maybe, but if it doesn't, it's not our fault".
So I thought I'd ask and see what the experience has been.  I can install an older version of Office if need be.

FWIW, we have been using "excel2000.fp" for years (with a few thousand users) and it still seems fine for simple exporting of data to Excel 2007.
I think it all boils down to the Excel object model and whether there have been changes related to the functionality you wish to use.

  • Does photoshop cs5 work with mavericks?

    Hi all
I have 2 iMacs with photoshop cs5 installed on one. I have upgraded to mavericks on my non-photoshop machine - which was more of a bumpy ride than I had expected.
Now I wonder whether I should upgrade my photoshop iMac which is currently running os x 10.8.5. Have anyone tried running photoshop cs5 under mavericks - and if so how did it go?
    Kind regards
    Jack Jorgensen

Since when I installed Mavericks my Photoshop CS5 - without warning - becomes all of a sudden unable to display the pull-down menus: they appear but are are solid white. That is, I lose completely control of Photoshop, and of all teh changes I made to a picture in the meantime. I does maintain a connection with the keyboard, but all the windows that may result from a keyboard command are also white. Flying blind, looks like.
It never happened to me before, and it started happening after I installed Mavericks (and I checked online whether PS CS5 was ok with it before installing it, of course .... sure .... ).

  • Why does Skype not work with mavericks?

I recently "upgraded" to Mavericks and find that several of my other applications no longer work...Great "UPGRADE" I think I know why it was offered FREE.

Check with HP for new software, in the past after an OS upgrade I have had to delete the printer and re add it to get it to work. The upgrade to Mavericks this did not occur but it did when I upgraded to Lion and then Mountain Lion.
If this does not fix it please start a new thread.
    regards

  • Does Adobe CS5 work with Mavericks

I have an iMac desktop running 10.6.8 and I use  CS5 products. Has anyone upgraded to Mavericks who usese CS5?

Since you're planning on upgrading from Snow Leopard, be aware no PowerPC apps will run under any version of OS X from Lion, 10.7.x and later. So if you have any, you either need to:
    1) Upgrade them to newer Intel native versions.
    2) Run Snow Leopard Server in a VM for those PPC apps.
    3) Install Snow Leopard on a separate partition and boot to it when you need to use the PPC apps.
    4) Find replacements for those you can't upgrade, and don't want to run them from within a VM, or boot separately in order to use them.
Rule Number 1. Have full backup of your current system you know you can restore before proceeding.

  • Office 2008/2011 deinstalled with Mavericks

    Hey,
I upgraded from ML to Mavericks when it came out. I already installed Office 2008 on my mid '10 MBP when I bought it 3 years ago.
And not long after that I upgraded to Office 2011.
    Everything went well until now.
Today, when I wanted to load Word for the first time since the Mavericks update, I came across this dialog box.
It's in Dutch but as a translation: I need to enter my serial key. Or I can sigh up for Office 365, which I don't want, because I still have this version. At least I think.
I tried the 3 serial keys on the backside of my dvd box, but none of them works.
Any thoughts how to make it work again?

  • I just downloaded Maverick on my Macbook Pro from 2011.  When I try to open iPhoto, it says that I have an old version that doesn't work with Maverick.  None of the solutions stated on this forum work for me, because there are no options displayed.

After downloading Maverick on the MacBook Pro that I bought in 2011, I am unable to open iPhoto. The message says "You can't use this version of the application "iPhoto" with this version of OS X.  You have "iPhoto" 9.2.3"  What???  That is ridiculous.  Why doesn't Maverick download everything?  I've tried the "fixes" I found on this forum, but none of them work for me, because there is no workaround via the library.  I can't access the library.

I have an old iPhoto version and it still works with Mavericks, the version before yours, that is puzzling.

The Mac running Snow Leopard should be able to configure virtually any version of the AirPort Express.
Tell us what steps that you are taking to configure the Express and what happens after each step.
