  • Does Oracle has features like Profiler in MS SQL

Since I'm new to Oracle I would like to know from you guys does Oracle has the feature like that of Profiler like present in MS SQL. Since I need those services for my work so really like to know about it. I tried to find out that feature but couldn't. So please share your knowledge about it .
    Regards,
    Praveen Rai

As someone who has actually used SQL Profiler I will add a few comments.
There are two Oracle features that may be of interest when trying to duplicate SQL Profiler information.
Niall mentioned the Oracle trace facility. Oracle is heavily instrumented and the internal measurements for how long individual operations executed and/or waited are available via the trace facility. It can be turned on by a session (several methods available) and it is also possible to turn trace on externally for an already running session.
An experienced DBA may choose to work with the raw trace file but Oracle provides a utility trkprof which will format the trace file collecting the execution information (number of physical IO, Logical IO, and rows returned) by SQL statement.
This kind of trace files are primary used for tuning purposes. Trace files can also be used to capture bug information via setting database events,
You can find information on SQL trace in the Performance and tuning manual.
Another feature that may be of interest is the Log Miner feature. This feature allows you to see the SQL in the online or archived redo logs. It is possible to generate SQL to back out changes that were applied.
This reminds me of another feature that will allow you to see "recent" activity: flash back query. For as long as the information is retained in the undo segments it is possible to query all activity against a row or set of rows in a table.
Again each of these features is documented in the standard documentation.
Here is a link to an article on how to turn trace on for an already running session.
How do I switch on sql trace in another session that is already running?

  • Why does iphone has common volume control for ringer as well as Alarm?

Why does iphone has common volume control for ringer as well as Alarm? which is quite unusual. For Exp, In case i lower down my ringer for some reason instead of silent and forget to increase before i sleep, my morning alarm also remains at the same ringer level volume at which i can miss the alarm. Is it due to some specific reason or i have missed something to change in settings. Other phone like Samsung etc, they have separate volume control for ringer and to an extent, Nokia rings for Alarm even if the battery is completely discharged.

I have booked an appointment at my nearest Genius Bar which is 40 minutes away next week, so do I need a reciept or is the warranty checked from the serial number?
    No receipt needed.
and is it covered under Apple's 12 month warranty?
It very well may be covered, depending on what Apple finds.

  • 64-bit WLS 11G for Solaris?

I can not locate the 64-bit version of WLS 11G for Solaris. When I go to the download page all I see are 32-bit versions (at least they look like 32-bit version as denoted by the filenames such as wls1031_solaris32.bin).
I have attempted to go through the e-delivery site but do not want to download a 21 part 11Gig file if it is not the correct one.
I would appreciate any help at all.

I am pretty confident that you need the 64 bit JVM for your platform, then you need to use the generic installer, this is based on how it has been done in prior releases.
So you can find the available JVM's for your platform here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/files/oracle%20fusion%20middleware%2011gr1%20(11%201%201%201%200)%20certification%20matrix.xls
In this case that would be Sun JVM 1.6.0_11+
    OR
    JRockit 6 Update 5 R27.6.2+
Then you should be able to run the generic installer here with that downloaded supported JDK:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/wls_main.html
I was not able to find anything specific on the documentation pages that described this process in detail, but you can always open a support case to get some assistance. I will check with the documentation team to see if that is going to be documented or already is.
If you look at the 10gR3 releases, it shows how the generic installer is used, for example:

Did you unzip the ic sqlplus .zip (the one listed) in the same dir as ic basic?

No installer, nothing ...That's the beauty of Instant Client, just unzip or move a few files, set PATH if needed, and you have client libraries all "installed" and ready.

You can give advice ?Generally, required lib files are (n Windows) oci.dll, oraociicusN.dll or oraocieiN.dll (N= e.g. 11). Then for Sql*plus add orasqlplusicN.dll and the .exe from ic-sqlplus package.

  • Instant client version for 8.1.6

    Hello all,
I'm trying to upgrade an oracle/php system and have a problem.
I go for php v5.3 and the pecl oci8 extension that uses Oracle oci.
The problem is with the database that is Oracle v8.1.6.
php oci8 extension can communicate only with oracle client library 9i, 10g or 11g. http://pecl.php.net/package/oci8
For this perfect would be an instant client of Oracle. I am able to find only 10 and 11 version of it.
Although 10g instant client stands that can connect to 8i, it keeps saying "ORA-03134: Connections to this server version are no longer supported." .Probably it need the latest 8i version 8.1.7.4
    I'll need client version 9.2.
Was there any v9 instant client? If yes, could you provide a link or anything?
If not, I guess I must install the client but I can't find it either so I'll need a link or information where I could find it.
Or maybe you have more experience with this kind of old version problems...
    Thank you for help,
    Alexandru Patranescu

Pl post OS details. Try https://edelivery.oracle.com
After logging in, choose "Oracle Database" for the first LOV and "Microsoft Windows (32-bit)" for the second LOV - and you should see "Oracle9i Database Release 2 (9.2.0.1.0) Media Pack for Microsoft Windows" as a downloadable option.

  • Server and client version for configuring/developing offline kapsel apps

    Hi all.
I am planning to develop an offline Kapsel app.
    I have two questions.
Q1.I have installed SP05 version for SMP server and SP06 version as SMP client. Is this configuration sufficient to begin with?
Q2. Is a delta token enabled SAP ABAP service mandatory for developing an offline app?
    Need your help on this.
    Thanks.

Hi Daniel Van Leeuwen ,Jitendra Kansal
I am using SAP Netweaver Gateway services instead of Integration Gateway.
I am now able to read the data when online, but get an error when I try to open the Offline store.
Does this have to do anything with the Netweaver Gateway?

  • Veritas Netbackup Client 6 for Solaris 10

    Hi
Can anyone tell me where I can download Veritas Netbackup client for Solaris 10. We had the netbackup client for solaris 9 running but then we did a clean install of Solaris 10.
The netbackup server is running on an AIX server and I want to push the solaris client from there. We have separate license for all our clients running the netbackup agent but the netbackup server does not have the latest solaris 10 client. The AIX server do not have internet access, so I want to download the solaris 10 netback agent and put on the netbackup server.
Need to know the URL where I can download the netbackup agent for Solaris 10.
    Many Thanks
    Pioneer

    Hi mcbrune1
I've check on the services in the client and all 4 services were up and running. Than I realized that this client was hardened a few weeks back. So I checked on the /etc/hosts.allow file and added an entry to allow the Master server to communicate using bpcd.
Now the Master server is able to see the client and everything seems to be working. Thanks for your help.
    Cheers

  • Licensing-Can I use 10 client version for Web server?

I have a client that is looking to move their web servers from IIS and Windows to OSX server.
My question is, how does the licensing shceme work? Can we use a 10 user version of OSX Server for a web server, or do we need the Unlimited version?
Not 100% familiar with the server side of Mac things, so treat me gently

    Hi
The licensing only applies to connected AFP users, so you can use a 10 Client version without any problems.

  • Need oracle 64 bit Licensed version weblogic 10.3.0.0

please help me to direct a point of contact to download 64 bit Licensed version weblogic 10.3.0.0

    Hi NZL,
As the Weblogic version 10.3.0.0 is not available in OTN or edelivery so request you to open a Service Request so that shipment team will provide FTP link so that it could be downloaded.
Also please refer to the note:Error Correction Support Dates for Oracle WebLogic Server (Doc ID 950131.1)
