Does OS X have a split view?

I am a new Mac user coming from Windows 7. One of the most useful tools designed into 7 was the ability to put 2 projects side by side on the screen. I could put 2 emails side by side or and article from the web and my Word document as I wrote. I used it so often that I have become accustomed to it and didn't realize I would miss it so much on my shiney new toy. Is there a way to simulate this function on Mountain Lion OS X? Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Unfortunately that's a nice Windows feature the Mac doesn't have. I didn't come from Windows, but I do think Mac window management is a bit less mature, so I ended up buying the Moom utility from the Mac App Store for better window management. Moom does have a edge snapping feature but I haven't used it so can't comment on how good it is. I use it for the feature that lets me set a window to half the display (or other customizable sizes or proportions of the display) in one click.
It is not free, but they do have a free trial on their site.

Dear Sara,
I notice that you didn't reply to my questioning the this ambiguous stipulation of your services being extended to Adobe's rights in the use of my personal content or intellectual and creative property.
When I returned to my "files" section in Adobe Reader where they were transferred to in converting them to PDF they had all been removed. Around 6 projects in progress plus notes and several creative design images in one instance (attached to a writing project). I have access to the files and I am downloading Cloud desktop interface.
Does the interface of Reader in desktop automatically remove them from my online account, making them exclusively offline from here on OR must they be physically removed and so have they been removed by another party?
Finally, since they are made copyright in the conversion, must future files be made uploaded to signify and account for them as made copyright by the process record in my personal account?
Excuse my asking lots of questions. My work has been tampered with in the past and I am excited about this service I can avail of in protecting all of my work.

Does PSE6-Mac have Date/Calendar View?

Years ago, I used PSE for windows and I liked the date/calendar view, especially since, if I remember correctly, I could add text to a date even if I didn't have photos associated with that date.
Does PSE6-Mac have this date/calendar feature?
If not, do you know of a calendar application that does link with a set of photos, to link by date

PSE for the Mac has no Organizer features whatsoever.

Does Dreamweaver CS6 have an iPad viewer

I wanted to know if the latest version of Dreamweaver in CS6 will have he ability to see what your website will look like on an iPad. Many clients want to see what their site will look like on an iPad moreso than any other device.
I found this website to have a ot of articles about iPad apps useful too but no mention of the latest version of Dreamweaver displaying a site as seen on an iPad. Please keep me posted!

You have an iOS Simulator that comes bundled with XCode with which you can simulate apps and webpages across iOS Devices.

How can I get a split view of Skype?

I am running a Windows 8.1 laptop. The Skype version it came with allowed me to have a split view so that Skype was always visible (I put it on the right side of my screen). I just upgraded to the new version as Skype told me I had to do so. Now I cannot find a way to get the split view again. I want my normal browser to take roughly 80% of the screen leaving the remainder on the right of the screen for Skype. How can I do this?

Split View: Should be easy but...

Ok. So I have a Split View. It looks a bit like this:
Split View
- Tab View
- Scroll View (Text View)
A vertical Split view displaying two things: the Tab View on the left, the Text View on the Right.
I want to change this.
Is there any way of switching the sides? Making the Tab View go to the right and the Text View to the left? and once my app is compiled, is there any property/method/code that would allow the user to change this at runtime?

To switch the sides in Interface Builder, the easiest thing to do is unembed the views from the split view, move the views, and embed them in a split view.
1. Select the two views in Interface Builder.
2. Choose Layout > Unembed Objects.
3. Move the views.
4. Select the two views a second time.
5. Choose Layout > Embed Objects In > Split View.

Split View App acting Strangely after Upgrades

I have a Split View app with 6 views. I just upgraded to Xcode 3.2.5 (from 3.2.4) and also have the 4.2.1 OS update on the iPad.
Before the updates, my app on launch would always open on the first view. Now the app opens on the whatever the last view that was loaded before quiting the app.
I know I didn't make this happen. Is there something in the new software that forces this feature?

Why does my clip have a higher quality in the viewer than the canvas?

When I am editing, I have noticed that sometimes my images and clips have a drastically higher quality in the viewer than the canvas/timeline, what is causing this, and how do I edit and export my films with the highest quality possible?

The answer is very simple; the Viewer shows the media at its native resolution while the Canvas shows the media at the Sequence resolution. I'd bet that in your case, the original media is of higher resolution that the Sequence in the Timeline.

VSphere 6 - You do not have permissions to view this object or this object does not exist

I installed a new vCenter Server, when i log in, on some pages i have the message:" You do not have permissions to view this object or this object does not exist".
Im Administrator on the vCenter ([email protected]) and i put another user in the admin group - same message
When i login with the same user on the vsphere desktop client, i can do all the operations.
Can anybody help?

I'd recommend 2008 R2 myself if 2012 or 2012 R2 doesn't work.
A lot of 3rd party software is still buggy post-2008 R2. Take Spiceworks for instance, I installed it to 2012 R2 and ran discovery, it picked up about 1/3 of the environment. I installed to 2008 R2, same machine, same network, it discovered 100% of the environment.
Few other things I have seen that has had similar issues too. Hence, don't trust 2012 and 2012 R2 with 3rd party software... yet.

Does DW have a "Navigation View" that shows all of the site pages in hierarchical order with the links as did MS Front page?

It is good to find some extensions;; I am getting closer BUT this is not quite what I am looking for. I reinstalled MS Front Page 2003 to remind myself how the "Navigation View" functions. Under the "View" menu are various ways to look at the website and its components; folders, files, hyperlinks etcetera. When you click "Navigation" you get a graphic view that shows all of the pages and the hierarchical structure of the website. This can be viewed in either landscape or portrait modes; you can drag pages around to arrange the links and their order. I will attempt to show what the "Navigation View" looks like. I want an D.W. extension that works like this. Thanks all. It is difficult for me going from MS Front page to Dream Works, to bad they killed it. BTW, this forum is nicely outfitted, I am glad to have found it, thanks for any input and answers. riverlynx

How to view rating stars on pictures in browser or split view

On an Imac aperture v3.2 I cannot see the rating stars on the pictures in browser or split view. I can only see them if i open the metadata for each individual picture. Does anyone know how to turn this feature on? My husband has a Macbook pro using the same software and he can see them.

The ratings are part of the Metadata Overlays (link goes to User Manual page with full instructions). There are seven different Metadata Overlays. It is helpful to customize each of them. The customization is done via "View→Metadata Display→Customize".
The Browser Metadata Overlay is toggle on/off with "u". "{Shift}+u" will toggle the Browser Metadata Overlay between "Basic View" and "Expanded View".
What is most likely is simply that either your Browser Metadata display has been toggled off. Try each of the toggles above, and see if that doesn't bring back the ratings. If it doesn't, you'll have to add them back to the Metadata View using the customize command above.

Remote images not showing up in design/split view

Just recently, whenever i updated the image location from the
local site to the remote site path, the images don't get loaded
into dreamweaver how it used to.
i'm not sure if i unchecked something. the paths are correct
and they show up when i preview in browser so i know it's not that.
if anyone can help with this it will be great. thanks.

Do you have spaces in your image file/pathnames?

Custom Split views don't work like the use to pre- Project 2010

Either we've lost some functionality along the way, or there must be another way of doing the following...
Up until and including version 2007, I was able to create multiple custom split views in a file (or global.mpt) where the I could specify a different Task Form (e.g., "Predecessors & Successors" or the "Work") depending on which custom
split view I selected.
In 2010 and 2013, you have to manually select the Task From you want; the custom split view won't can help you get the specific Task Form you want ((e.g., "Predecessors & Successors", "Work"). At least that has been my experience...
does anyone have a solution apart from needing to write a VBA event handler?

I agree with Dale. Project remembers the last set of details applied in form views such as Task Form. Using VBA event handlers you can change this behavior.
1. Open the project file on which this change should be applied.
2. In the View ribbon, click Macro command and select Visual Basic
3. If you want the details displayed in the Task Form to be applied to the current file, double click "ThisProject" node under the VBAProject(your file name) or else double click "ThisProject" node under ProjectGlobal (Global.MPT)
4. Paste below lines in the Project_Open event handler. Save the code.
Private Sub Project_Open(ByVal pj As Project)
    ViewApplyEx ApplyTo:=1, BuiltInView:=pjViewTaskForm
    WindowActivate TopPane:=False
    ViewShowPredecessorsSuccessors
End Sub
5. You can replace the last statement ViewShowPredecessorsSuccessors with another statement that is compatible with Task Form view

Horizontal scroll not working in aperture split view

I had recently upgraded to mountain lion and the newest aperture, but I noticed a problem with horizontal scrolling in aperture split view. I am currently using a magic mouse, and it scrolls just fine within other applications except in aperture split view. (it doesn't go to the next picture when I gesture left and right) if I do it many times, it will change to the next picture but then stops scrolling again. I had tried to use a trackpad and it is better but I have to do it slowly and occationally it just doesn't work. It only happens only in Aperture and not in safari or other applications. Does anyone know the solution to this problem? Any little help is greatly apprecitated

The recent Aperture update disabled the "Scroll to navigate photos in the Viewer" option.
You may need to reenable it in the Aperture general preferences.
