Does OS X Server Mail have a "Drafts, Spam, Archive" Folders?

Does OS X Server mail contain a drafts, spam, and archive folder? My iPhone configured for IMAP and my webmail both can't find them. Do I need to do some special setup for it?

Your mail client performs spam filtering, and you can choose to enable — beyond the mail server configuration and filtering settings available in Server.app — and configure and manage AMaViS and Spamassassin settings yourself via the command line tools.  (Here's a slightly older Lion spamassassin discussion.)
The OS X Server 10.6 Mail Service Administration manual have rather more detail than the current Mavericks documentation, but its contents are somewhat dated.  More than a little of the settings and capabilities have been removed with the replacement of Server Admin.app and related bits with Server.app, leaving you with the command line and configuration files.

  • What does OS X Server Mail deliver?

    We have a client that are about to start a web hotel. They are going to buy OS X Server for the Web Services at least. Now they want a good Mailserver application. When I last looked at the OS X Server Mail application (10.2) I never got it to work in a multi-host environment.
    My questions;
    - Is the current version of OS X Server mail a good mailserver?
    - Is it possible/allowed to have OS X Server Mail on one computer in the network and the Server on another, with the same license?
    - Do the OS X Server Mail have a web interface for the different hosts?

    10.4 can do this.

    Yes. It is based on postfix, cyrus, amavisd, spamassassin, clamav, squirrelmail and mailman

    No, but for the mailserver you only need the 10-client license as the license refers to filesharing users. Mailusers are unlimited
    - Do the OS X Server Mail have a web interface for
    the different hosts?
    Yes, but for advanced configurations you will need to use the command line as well.

  • Does Crystal Reports Server 2013 have Dashboard Drivers built-in.

    Hi: Does Crystal Reports Server 2013 come with built-in drivers for Dashboard 4.1.
    In fact, is CentralManagementConsole/Monitors/Dashboard an example of "dashboard" technologies.
                                                      ...thanks, Stanley

    Abhilash,
      While that is definitely the case with the full BI Platform, I'm not entirely sure that it's correct for Crystal Reports Server.  CRS is limited to Crystal Reports - the features for other parts of the BI Platform are not enabled, so I don't believe you can publish from Dashboards into CRS.
    Stanley,
      The Monitoring Dashboard is a standard feature of the platform.  Just because it works, doesn't mean that content for Dashboards is enabled.  You could try publishing from Dashboards to test, but it probably won't work.

    From which account does the email not send?  When sending from an account, the iPad will first try to use the aoutgoing server for that account.  If it can't it will try the other accounts listed.in the setting on the iPad for that account.  It soulds like the server for the account is not working and that the alternate server is resjecting the messag since it did not originate ffrom the account associated with that server,  That is to prevent sending spam.

  • Does lion server dovecot have the equivalent of the "mail_location = mbox:~/IMAP:INBOX=/var/mail/%u" setting.

      I have a lot of legacy users migrating from unix/linux that use the old setting for folders for holding their imap mail.  The new way of storing mail doesn't allow containers for folders, and I can't think of an easy way to convert a gigabyte or so of old mail that's on the old Linux server running dovecot.

    Update for Mavericks-
    I don't know if this is totally accurate, but it worked. After upgrading to Mavericks, the previous setup above disappeared. Something in the Dovecot setup is different now, and these changes brought it back.
    edit files have moved to /Library/Server/Mail/Config/dovecot/conf.d/
    do the same edits as outlined above except for the last one- 10-mail.conf
    The Namespace sections have changed. Using the above reference, I made these changes. **Uncomment means to remove the # from the first of the line.
    namespace inbox {
    **uncomment type = private
    **uncomment separator = ^ (add this character)
    **uncomment prefix =
    In the next two sections (shared namespaces) change the prefix lines to match the separator ^ (you're replacing the periods with the new delimiter.) Mavericks activates these namespaces by default- I don't know what they do. It won't work unless you make them match.
    namespace acl-mailboxes {
    prefix = shared^%%u^
    namespace list-archives {
    prefix = archives^%%u^
    Stop and restart mail service and all is back to the way it was.

    After trying lots I found now in 'Airport Utility is 'unable to detect any airport wireless devises.....'
    There is no provider to be seen in airport utility and only 'rescan' is an option with no results...
    even so I am connected and can browse the net receive mail etc. and the outgoing 'mail server' is set to the internet provider I am connected to.
    Can you enlighten me what can I do I need to use my e-mail program urgently !!!
    Thanks for your help

    I'm not sure what "IPS wireless" is, but unless you have an Apple Wi-Fi base station (such as a Time Capsule, AirPort Extreme, or AirPort Express), AirPort Utility won't see anything.
    You might try defining a new SMTP server to see if that will work any better.

  • Does the amount of mail you  have in your mailbox take up storage space on the ipod touch?

    Does The Amount Of Mail You Have IN Your Mailbox Take Up Sorage Space ON The Ipod Touch

    It shouldn't take up space because the emails are saved on email provider server (yahoo.com, rr.com, etc) All of the provider should do this.

  • Does Mail have to be open to receive messages?

    Hey guys
    Does Mail have to be running to check and get messages?
    Thanks

    Depending on your mail service, there are frequently small utilities that can periodically check your mail server and give you a pop-up notice that there is new mail, and then you can launch Mail to look at it.
    For example, Google's GMail can be check by several utilities, including Google's own "Google Notifier".
    Try doing a search over at MacUpdate.com for mail checking utilities.

  • All my mail have disappeared From my mac and my iOS devices. Seemingly from the iCloud server as well. How can I recover them?

    All my mail have disappeared from my mac and my iOS devices. Seemingly from the iCloud server as well. How can I recover them?

    Well, you can't since the emails are stored on icloud's mail server.  Try this test, using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and check the mail page.  If they are gone, then they are really gone.
    Now, I thought I could go into a Time Machine backup and view old emails from a day ago.  Unfortunately, Time Machine doesn't seem to save icloud based email, since regardless of the past date I go to, only the current emails show up, not older ones.  My conclusion is that I wouldn 't be able to recover them from a TM backup.
    What had you been doing on the mac or device that causes emails to be deleted?  (I hope you don't have a family member or friend using the same icloud account - they may have deleted all emails by mistake.)

    Under what circumstances does mail "not leave the mails on the server"?
    If you mean that you delete them (or move them out of the inbox) on one device and then find them not in the inbox on the server when you look from another device, that's how IMAP is supposed to work. (Note that the deletion or moving might be the result of rules you have set up in Mail.)
    If you mean something else, please explain your issue in more detail.

    Since i have updated my Iphone 5S to IOS8 or higher, the push mail does not work automatically, i have to refresh manually, I haven't this problem with earlier versions !
    I use Microsoft Exchange Mail server.
    Even with Iphone 5 and IOS8, the problem doesn't exist !

    Why would you expect it to work in 8.3, if it didn't work in a previous version? What troubleshooting have you done? Have you tried putting the car system into Pairing mode?

  • Using iPad mail program I have a draft of an email. I attempted to "cancel" and "delete draft" but it is still on my screen even after shutting down and restarting. How do I exit so that I can use other mail functions?

    Using iPad mail program I have a draft of an email. I have attempted to "cancel" this and "delete draft" but the email stays on my screen. How can I exit this so that I can use other email functions?

    Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    In Mail Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviours there are options for deleting junk mail. Try setting it to "Delete junk messages when quitting mail."
