Does Outlook also backup all contacts with just phone numbers?

Obviously not every contact is going to have an email, but for some reason in outlook I can only pull up the ones with emails.
Doesnt outlook also backup the contacts with just numbers, address etc?

Maybe that is the case? How can I tell if I'm only syncing the address book?
What is available with your Outlook address book? Does your Outlook address book have a group that includes email addresses only for the contacts you've placed in the group?
What is available and what do you have selected below Contacts under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
I didnt do anything special, whatever was default may still be in place?
There is no setting that provides for this - not on the iPhone, and not under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
But how can I backup/sync ALL contacts from my iphone to outlook or something else?
Contacts on your iPhone are included with your iPhone's backup, which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the sync process. There is no other backup function available for iPhone contacts.
Contacts are designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer. With Windoze, this can be with Outlook 2003 or 2007 along with syncing calendar events, or with Windows Contacts for syncing contacts only.

Help with multiple contacts with multiple phone numbers

I'm fairly new to the iPhone so thanks in advance for any help with this issue.
I have contact list with records for a lot of people (300+), each with several phone numbers each, home, mobile & work, etc, .I can't seem to find a way to have the iPhone announce the name & number or name & type (home,mobile,work) of the caller from the contact list, my old cell phone could do that easily.
At the moment what I've been doing as a work around for a few (important) people is to create a custom ringtone for that caller & that phone number. Since it also seems there's no way to attach a different ringtones to each number in a single contact record I've had to create multiple contact records for each person, each with a different name/number combination such as "John Doe Work", "John Doe Home" or John Doe Mobile" then assign to it the custom ringtone I created for that name/number.
I need to this so that if I receive a call while I'm driving (or whatever) that I can't answer right then for some reason (often happens), the ringtone I created for that name & number helpfully lets me know who & where their calling from. It's very important to know where someone is calling from, if someone's calling from home then I know I've got some time, but if their calling from work then I need to get back to them quickly.
This is a real pain!, having to make multiple contacts & ringtones for a every person with multiple numbers is a extraordinary waste of time. My old cell phone could do this with no problem but there doesn't seem to be any way to do this with my new iphone. Am I missing something here? I am new to the iPhone so if there’s a solution to this that I’ve missed I'd very much appreciate the assistance.

Does anyone know how to recover deleted contacts? For some reason contacts with only phone numbers have been deleted the rest of my contacts are there. It appears that I only have the contacts on my phone that i have on my laptop.

Does anyone know how to recover contacts that have been gone missing or have been deleted somehow. The contacts that are missing are the ones where I only had phone numbers (no email address). The ones where I have both phone numbers and email addresses are ok. They are the same ones I have on my laptop. I dont know what I did to cause the ones with phone number only to disappear.

I know the importance of saving and updating your contacts. What type of phone do you have? If you are using Backup Assistant, you have the ability to sync the contacts between your laptop and phone. You will also be able to see if all your contacts are stored on the online portion of the application versus the phone itself. The contacts should be the same for both online and the phone.

N900 mixes contacts with similar phone numbers

Two of my family members have nearly identical phone numbers. This seems to confuse my N900 to no end - at times, when person A calls, it gets put into the call log as person B, and so on. Very annoying when you miss a call from either one: You can never be sure which one called you. Any ideas how to fix this / will it be fixed in the next update?

if the numbers have come from a different/your previous phone make sure they're not linked, my last boss had an older nokia (can't remember which) but he would have a contact called 'work' then within that contact he had all the staff phone numbers that he needed stored to it but each number could have its own tag/name - similar to contact groups but when he upgraded and tried to transfer the contacts it only sent the numbers which didn't have a tag i.e. 'work' had the company's phone numbers only and not all the staff numbers but when he stored my number seperatly it caused the problem you're having even tho the 'work' contact didn't list my number so he had to manually add some numbers where he had had the conflicts

Troubleshooting a start up script can be difficult. There are some third party programs that also keep logs of start up programs, however for Firefox this may be different.

In the control panel there is also Administrative tools to view event logs, but this may be something a local technician can walk you through.

My wife's iPhone 4S has suddenly lost its info. All contacts are just phone numbers, no photo stream etc., as if it's lost icloud back up , even it's never been backed up. I've rebooted it (off/on) and no difference.

You cannot -- it is one at a time, by design. Further, it's not the best place to put your data...anything beyond name and phone number will be lost. Any contact with multiple phone numbers will wind up with multiple entries. Depending on what your true goal is, there is most likely a much better way to accomplish what you need.

Contact issue w/ phone numbers

I have a user that is syncing her iPhone with her Enterprise Exchange account (Exchange Server 2010). For some reason some of her contacts are missing phone numbers. They show up in her Outlook 2010 just fine but not on her phone. She can manually input the numbers on the phone but this becomes a pain when she sync's several thousand contacts.
Any ideas/help as to why this is happening would be great. Thanks.

yes, I have a contact with several phone numbers (home, office, mobile...) .
When I want to call him,
I select the entry from the contacts list and
press e.g. the green dialing button.
Now I would expect that the 3 numbers of the contact will be displayed and I have to select one of them.
But the phone starts dialing with the first number from the contact.
I found a way to select the right number:
Select the entry
press "options"
press "show details"
select the right number
press the green button
But if this is the way to handle it, it is not very user friendly.

I've just purchased an ipad2 and have synced it with outlook to get all contacts. I've also set up my earthlink mail account and it sends/receives fine. IS there a way to sync it so I get all of the legacy emails sitting in the OUtlook inbox?

The sync doesn't pull over legacy emails from Outlook and my Outlook has been set up to remove them from the webmail server therefore they aren't available from webmail anymore. I'd love to get some sort of "printout" (a list or
something) of every single file.
There is, go to browser and cntrl click on any one of the columns,
and select - show/source. A new column named "source" will pop up and will show where everything "lives". Click on the header at the top and it will justify the column as well. You'll notice this won't show anything for your seq.'s. of course, but will show stills/audio/motion files...
Once you have the new column, you can drag it next to the "name" column and get a grab of it and print it if you like, or whatever.
If you want to do this for just 1 seq., then can create a new bin and double click it to open it. Cntrl-A (select all) in your main seq. and just drag all into the new bin. You will see only what's in that seq. with the "source" column right next to it.
From what I've read, you seem to get the MM thing and it's obviously what you'll need to do to archive as the guys said. But what your missing is a file path system to where everything resides.

I know how to use about:config & have had the usual problems with newtab page tiles but this is more like a bug- using 33.0.1. Doesn't show tiles icon in top right corner just shows a gear that is used to hide the empty tiles that I can't fill with sites. First it would only show 2 rows of 4 columns even though I had it set to 5 & 6 then few days later for no reason they went empty with a serrated line around the tiles & can't drag from the bookmarks---- really bloody annoying!!!!!!! Possibly a setting in the about:config but i can't fig it out?

It's not the iTunes account, it's Apple ID that iMessages gets distributed.

Thanks - I guess it is like there were two of me!
I bought the iPhone first and it seemed natural to link it to the (work) e-mail address which was in constant use. The iMac for home use came next and it seemed natural to use my home e-mail address, particularly as I knew by then that I would lose the work address after my imminent retirement. The same logic went for the recent puchase of the MacAir. I am not sure what happened with the iPad (also a recent purchase) - iTunes seemed to puch me towards the same ID as the iPhone.
It is not a huge problem - just makes my persona look schizoid! Otherwise very happy with everything Apple.

Outlook 2011 problem syncing contacts with address book

I am aware that Lion has broken the sync ability of Outlook 2011 with Address Book. Hopefullly this will be fixed at some point.
So my problem is that I have decided to use a workaround to get my Address Book contents into Outlook 2011. I am not concerned with further syncing at this point. I just want to get my addresses into Outlook and hope a better fix is offered at some point.
About the only way I could figure out how to do this was to export my Address Book as vCard. I then imported the vCard file into Gmail and then exported that as a CSV file. It contained 550 addresses. I opened it in Excel and it contained 550 rows. Great so far.
I then Imported into Outlook 2011 and chose import a text file. When the mapping window opened, it showed over 890 files instead of 550 and the fields were not mapped correctly. I could not complete the import because it was so screwed up.
So I'm back to square one and very frustrated. There must be others who have the same issue and maybe have figured out a way to do this. Please help.

Same grief here - I've found this kind of problem goes back at least 4 years!
My 'old' iPod Touch lost my stored photos and Contact list when I had to reset it.
No problem, just Sync with iTunes.... now my photos and Contacts refuse to transfer from MacBook to Touch in any way I select iTunes Sync!!!
The pictures I'm not too worried about but I refuse to tap in 115 sets of Contact details.
And I'm still to find a straight forward sctual solution...
