Does P965 Platinum 1.0 have 45nm support ? (I know 1.1 supports it)

Well I would like to buy a E8500 Core 2 Duo but I have the 1.0 version of the P965 Platinum Card and it is supposed to go up to 1000mhz FSB (not 1333).
I have read that 1.1 version support this CPU but would like to have confirmation that the 1.0 support it too (I just flashed it with 1.8 bios)
Thanks for your help

It should, but if you want to double-check, contact MSI technical support here:

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Also try this - Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • Does P965 Platinum work with 4GB Ram?

I'm using Vista 64 bit Ultimate with 2x1GB ram.  I want to buy another 2x1GB kit (just because RAM is so cheap now), but there seem to be some posts that say the motherboard can't use all the memory even thought the manual says it should support it.  Is anyone out there actually using 4x1GB on this board successfully?  Thanks.

Please ignore my comment. I saw 'platinum' and my brain filled in p6n. My badQuote from: JoeWPgh on 13-May-07, 04:10:00
There's a thread here about Vista 64 and 4 gig RAM running very slowly. You might want to read through it. The upshot of it is that flashing the BIOS to beta 1.22 seems to have solved most people's (including mine) problem.

  • Does my iMac 10.7 have: USB mass storage protocol must be supported by your OS

This is via IRIS=-for IRIS Anywhere 4 business card scanner and then opened using the Cardiris 4 software for insertion into Mac Address Book?

Lion needs 7 GB of free storage in the hard drive, but you have 4 GB of RAM installed (Lion needs 2 GB of RAM memory). Hard drive and RAM memory are different hardware of the Mac

  • P965 Platinum, memory support

I was looking at the manual of the MSI P965 Platinum (pdf from the MSI website) and I noticed this memory speed support table:
Does this mean I can't use PC2-4200 (DDR2-533) in this board in combination with a Core 2 Duo (FSB 1066)?
Also, is this a chipset limitation or one of the motherboard?  I looked at the P965 datasheet and I didn't find anything that seemed to cause this limitation, but I'm not experienced enough in these matters to rule anything out...

In MSI P965 Platinum User Manual written:
    Quote
    - 4 DDRII DIMMs (DDRII 800 supports up to 4 GB, DDRII 667/ 533
    support up to 8 GB, 240pin / 1.8V)
Why MSI P965 Platinum is supporting only 4 GB RAM if you use DDRII 800 memory?
MSI 975X Platinum PowerUp Edition supports up to 8 GB RAM if you use DDRII 800 memory. Compare

It's because MSI P965 Platinum use old one P965 MCH but MSI 975X Platinum PowerUp Edition use the newest one.

  • P965 Platinum fails at being Crossfire Certified!

Just another topic about the problems with the P965 Platinum. I have had two cards in my PC for awhile now. I made a major mistake in thinking that a board that is certified for Crossfire would actually do as advertised. I also made another mistake when thinking that a card that uses software to perform the Crossfire would not need my attention. Boy was I way wrong about all of it. The P965 Platinum and Crossfire are not work (with my dual X1600 Pro's). I thought maybe I just made bad choice in cards and the performance sucked. That was not correct, the X1600 is actually a very good card (but the X800 AGP out performs it hands down).
I have submitted it to ATI and MSI. ATI is trying to tell me that I need to change my Power Supply out with one that has more wattage. LOL, I am sorry! My Xion PSU puts out 44a on the 12v line and Crossfire only requires 38a. Also, ATI stated that not all boards will work with all Crossfire cards. The tech told me that the X1950 would work since it uses individual card power and external monitor connections (not software) to achieve Crossfire.
I had read another post from back in January. Seems no one has even tried this before (with regards to P965 and X1600). So I am now a official ginny pig for MSI. They put a certification on the board that really may only apply to a hand full of cards and not the lower priced high performance cards.
If someone has been succesful at getting this setup to work, please post. MSI takes 2 to 3 days to ever respond to a ticket and I would really like it to be resolved sooner. I know that is a wish in one hand kind of thing.

I think I agree with you. So, I purchased a Intel D975XBX2 and am very happy so far with the results. Vista X64 was a breeze to install on this board and It was up and running in less then an hour. Since I have had so many issues with MSI, P965 Platinum (ScrapMetal should be its name) I decided to give another company a try. Since I still have a 865PE Platinum that runs great I will still be around. Seems like ASUS boards have also had major issues with the P965. I will chalk that one up to a mistake I can walk away from.

  • MSI P965 PLATINUM...DOES IT SUPPORT VIIV?

I recently built a new system with the P965 platinum motherboard, after several problems (mostly due to the jmicron) i have the system up and running.  my next step is to network it with my Directv HR20-700.  to do this (without complicated go arounds) the PC networked to the HR20 needs to have the Intel VIIV 1.5 software running on the system.  when i download the VIIV software and try to install it i am getting an error stating that my PC does not meet the hardware requirements for motherboard and hard drive.  i ran the intel chipset test and it indicated that i have a 965G chipset system, is this correct?
I assumed that this was a VIIV approved motherboard because it is a suppose to be a P965 chipset motherboard.
    please help!

The strangest thing about the Intel article about ViiV is that they made tests with this configuration http://developer.intel.com/performance/desktop/dighome/test_configuration.htm
and obviously they are using Intel® Desktop Board DP965LT, witch also doesn't support ViiV.
    http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/lt/lt_available.htm
So,my advice is to contact the Intel support team and ask about your motherboard.

  • MSI P965 Platinum (MS-7238) E7400 support

    Hello,
I have question about compatibility MSI P965 Platinum with new Core 2 Duo E7400 (SLB9Y (R0)). On MSI page is that motherboard supports Yorkfield & Wolfdale processors but E7400 is not in CPU support list. If it is not supported, is there any chance that new bios will be released?
    Thanks

Best thing is to ask MSI about that as we are just users ourselves. You can contact MSI here: http://ocss.msi.com.tw/ (Global technical support)

Try running Safari in 32 bit mode.  In get info box for Safari,
check open in 32 bit mode.  There have been some oddities
on some systems that can cause some issues.
I had thought MS had fixed this, but may not have.

  • HT201740 My preview does not have the tool bar described in the support page

I am on Yosemite 10.10.2. My preview does not have the tool bar described in this support document:
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201740
Software Update says my system is up to date. How do I get the latest Preview described here? If I could get the features described on this support page, it would be awesome.
I have been struggling with the Preview that came with Yosemite. When I add text it is always justified and I can't change any style properties. Preview always opens without thumbnails, but I want thumbnails.

Barney-15E, thanks for pointing out the A icon to change the style of text that I create. I overlooked that completely.
Eric Root, what I meant was that I want preview to always open in Thumbnail mode. But I think I figured that one out. There is a Preview Preference tab for PDF which has an option of "Always show sidebar" when Opening for the first time.
It was helpful but perplexing to know from Barney-15E that Preview support docs are not up to date. Except, I never saw such features in Preview, so maybe that doc is a description of things to come?
While googling around, I also found many people had the same complaint I do about another feature: the Text box always positions in the middle of the page, rather than where you first click on the document. Apparently I'm not the only one who found Preview really lacking with the Yosemite release. Someone even figured out how to install the prior Preview 7.0 version...
    Thanks for your help!

  • Does anyone have a phone number to actually call support for itunes store

does anyone have a phone number to actually call support for itunes store

You're probably right - however I only stumbled in here yesterday through Google, I'd not visited the site before and really only registered to say "me too" and look for an answer.
I've never been a huge Apple fan, but when I finally moved to an iPod from Creative and Sony players last year, I was quite impressed. So much so that I also upgraded to an iPhone this year. Never had previous experience of trouble with iTunes and believed Apple's hype about reliability - lesson learnt!
I've found no answers here or from Apple themselves so I probably won't be back - and the iPad and Macbook will come out of my wish list!

  • HT4757 Does anyone have any idea of when they might support Sigma raw?

Does anyone have any idea of when they might support Sigma raw?

    Hello:
No one here has any clue if or when.  Apple is very "close-hold" about upcoming changes or enhancements.
I am not being critical, but the TOU prohibit any of us from speculating about future Apple hardware/software plans.

What kind of online backup tools does iCS have?
And are other backup mechanisms supported?
    <P>
With iCS2.x, the admin utilities provide `csbackup` command to backup
individual calendar or the whole calendar database. Solstice/Legato
backup functionality is also available. The advantage with the Legato
backup is that the administrator can, in addition, perform backup per user.
(Legato backup utilizes csbackup and csrestore for calendar backup/restore.)
Please refer to the section on Backup and Restore Procedures in the

Although it is not yet documented in the 2.x Admin guide, <b>`csbackup -l`</b>
is the command used for initiating Legato backup directory structure (refer to
Step 1 under Backing Up Calendar Server Data).

  • Is P965 Platinum going to receive a BIOS update to support E8400 s-spec SLB9J?

Is P965 Platinum going to receive a BIOS update to support C2D E8400 s-spec SLB9J with E0 core stepping?

Well, basically they're sorry that the motherboard doesn't currently support it. I also asked about time frame when a BIOS update would be likely. They replied there are a number of issues in making it happen. If possible, they'll make effort to release a solution as soon as they can.
Kinda obscure, but I guess that was to be expected.

Does the IE CS6 version have Support for the Middle Eastern tool set? - left to right typing etc.

I assume IE means International English, as opposed to English North America (aka US English). There is Middle Eastern and Hebrew support via an English user interface for programs that support it such as InDesign.
You can change the install language by launching the Adobe Application Manager and clicking on your name in the top left to bring up a context menu. From the menu select Preferences and then click the drop down for Languages. See the screen shot below:
