Does PDF conversion work Word to PDF?

I see it often says converts PDF to word. Does it work Word to PDF?

Impossible to say without knowing full details about how you made the conversions before and what happens when you try now.

  • PDF conversion from Word - WMF display

    I have created a PDF from a word document. It has WMFs inserted in the document using BuildBetter WMF.  The document displays correctly in word.  I have used the preset of "high quality" on the PDF conversion.  The document print quality is correct but I am having difficulty seeing the WMF drawing when displayed on the computer.  If I zoom in I can see the drawing fine.  Obviously it is a pixel problem.  How can I fix this?

    You should be able to print to the Adobe PDF printer, but nothing else probably will work with OFFICE 2010 as Adobe told you. You probably can just wait until AA10. There are no current expectations of AA9 being updated to work with OFFICE 2010 (at least the PDF Maker part.).

  • Win7 64-bit PDF Preview works- except with PDF Forms?

    I have Win7 64-bit with Adobe Acrobat X Standard installed. I receive PDFs as attachments in Outlook 2010, and for the most part, the PDF preview works fine. Downloaded PDFs that I have in a folder with the Preview Pane work fine as well. However with PDF forms, which have cells that you can manually fill in, i.e. name, hire date, etc. I receive an error "Please wait, If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document." This happens in both Outlook 2010, and the Windows Explorer preview pane panel. The attached website does not fix my issue as the registry key is correct. Any ideas? Thanks! http://www.pretentiousname.com/adobe_pdf_x64_fix/#downl

    Hello NI_LV_82_User,
    The DIAdem PDF output is not compatible with Windows 7 (DIAdem 11.1 was released in July 2009, Windows 7 was made available in October 2009). The DIAdem R&D department is currently working on a fix to add this functionality under Windows 7. We are working to provide a solution as soon as possible and will make the release of the Service Pack known here on the forum as soon as it is available.

  • Does the pdf conversion to word allow for editable text?

    Once the pdf is converted to a word document can you edit the text within the newly created word document.  The Conversion seemed to have created an image image not a text document.

    Good day,
    How would you rate the quality of the document you were starting with?  Was it a scanned file?
    Typically, when you convert files from PDF to Word with ExportPDF, the resulting Word document is editable.  When the file is treated like an image, it's usually one of two things.
    The 'Recognize text' function was disabled prior to the conversion.
    The quality of the original PDF file (typically created from a scanned document) is really poor/grainy and the ExportPDF service simply interpretted the document as an image and not as actual text.

  • Conversion from Word to PDF is unreadable to others

    I have had this problem a couple of times:
    I save a word 2007 document as a 97-2003 doc and then convert to pdf using the print command.
    When I email this to others, sometimes the words are "jibberish" as one person told me and sometimes the page looks cut off as another person has told me.
    I do not see any of these issues when I preview the documents or open the documents.
    These have been just text documents and some documents may have basic jpg images.
    Went to the Microsoft Word Forum and it was suggested that I go to this forum for assistance.
    The version of Acrobat is Professional 8.0.
    Attached is the last document that I emailed to someone and they could not read it.
    Can anyone help?

  • PDF conversion from Word 2010 incredibly slow and loses format

    Just moved onto new laptop with Windows 7 Word 2010
    and downloaded Acrobat 9 Pro trial.  Have used Acrobat 8 with Word 2007 and earlier versions with no problems. Now taking half an hour to convert a document and cutting out margins.  Just today I was talking with Adobe tech help and was advised Acrobat 9 is compatible with Word 10.  Any suggestions?

  • Font Scrambling in PDF Conversions from Word 2004

    Our Imago fonts periodically get scrambled into garbage when using the Adobe 7.0 Pro Distiller to convert documents. We purchased the Imago fonts specifically for use in our business and have used this for a number of years and the problem continues to happen. It appears that it is imbedded properly in the preferences menu. Has anyone had this happen or does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hello, hereby a snapshot of the Word doc & the result as pdf as shown in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI. (In Acrobat reader it shows ok) . Depending on how I convert to pdf I get different results. Sometimes a completely coloured page, a blank page or with only the coloured line showing.
    I don't know how to post a link (don't have a web address ..) but if you give me a mail-address I could send the Word document to you.

  • Conversion from WORD to PDF not WYSIWYG

    I am using MS Word 2003 and trying to convert a page to PDF format, but the image on the page is shrunk - not what it appears in the WORD document.  Is there a setting that I need to apply to get a "What you see is what you get"?

  • PDF Conversion of Word document file too large

    I am going crazy trying to figure out why PDF document files I make on my Mac are so much larger (file size) than the same document converted on my Windows machine using Adobe Acrobat. I also tested the file size by having a friend use her CutePDF document converter to convert it for me and my PDF document with a file size of 2.18 Mb came back from her at 78.5 Kb. However, when I try to view the document it has a message where the images are that "QuickTime and a decompressor are needed to see this picture". But she could see everything fine.
    I always loved my Adobe Acrobat software when I was a Windows user. With the exception of using Quicken on my MacBook using VMWare Fusion for running Windows, I don't want to use Windows anymore so I don't want to have Acrobat sitting on that partition. I know my Mac can convert to PDF but is there a way I can get the file sizes smaller? Or am I going to have to get a PDF writer program specifically for converting and compressing file sizes where other users, whether be Mac or Windows can see them.
    HELP please. I'm about ready to purchase the Adobe Acrobat X Professional for Mac OS X. I only need the Standard package but it appears they don't have a Mac version for anything less than the Professional package. I'm also wondering if CutePDF would work for me. Hmmm. I truly need the knowledge of you seasoned users.
    Thanks a bunch!!!

  • Batch conversion from word to pdf

    Hey,
    I know how to convert one, what about if I have many word files,and  any way to convert
    all doc and docx files (don't know the names) from one folder and transfer them to the other folder as a PDF format. One doc = one PDF and so on?
    Thank u.

    Hi JWX123. This DOC library(http://www.e-iceblue.com/Introduce/word-for-net-introduce.html)
    supports the feature to to convert all doc and docx files from one folder and transfer them to the other folder as a PDF format.
    string dir = @"C:\Source\";
    string des = @"C:\Destination\";
    string[] docs = Directory.GetFiles(dir, "*.txt");
    string[] docxs = Directory.GetFiles(dir, "*.rtf");
    foreach (string fileName in docs)
    Document doc = new Document();
    using(TextReader tr=new StreamReader(fileName))
    doc.LoadText(tr);
    var newPath = Path.ChangeExtension(fileName, "pdf");
    var savePath = Path.Combine(des, Path.GetFileName(newPath));
    doc.SaveToFile(savePath, FileFormat.PDF);
    foreach (string fileName in docxs)
    Document docx = new Document();
    docx.LoadFromFile(fileName);

  • First conversion to Word from .pdf is screwy. All upper-case 'B' converted to '13'  All lower case 't' coverted to '1'   Useless conversion.  How can this be corrected?

    This is what it converted to:
    "You r  a11orneys"  sha ll  mean  rhe  a 11orneys hi red  10  represent  you  1n  or  consul r  wi1h you abou t  1his di,·orce  action.
    This is what it should have converted to:
    "Your attorneys" shall mean the attorneys hired to represent  you in or consult with you about this divorce action.
    By the time I correct all the corrupted text, I could just re-type the entire document.  If this is what I will get for my subscription, it's a waste of money.  Any suggestions for correcting or overriding this problem?

    Hi,
    Is this happening with this file only or with every files?
    Would you send your PDF document to [email protected] as an email attachment?
    I will check it from my end.

  • Does Alpha Conversion work in new Release(SP14-16)?

    Hi guys,
    we have problem with Alpha conversion:
    we have an InfoObjekt, which includes an alpha conversion, but error occur with data loading in BI, when we have data value like "123", it can not be converted to "000123". Instead that, an error occurs and the data can not be loaded, we have to manuell change this value and then load...
    Is this because of new release (we have this new release since Feburar 2008)?
    Any hint is appriciated.
    Regards,
    Liying

    Yes, it does work still.
    Make sure that in the infosource (transfer rule), that the conversion flag is set for the infoObject.

  • Create one pdf from excel, word, and pdf files

    I'm trying to create a single document to distribute (digitally and printable) for a meeting.
    And I'm an Acrobat Pro beginner. :-(
    The files to be included are in pdf, MS Word and MS Excel.
    What is the best way to do this?
    I don't know if I use Portfolio which I tried but then each file apparently needs to be Extracted to be viewed. Not what I want. I want series of files separated by a heading.
    Maybe I need to convert all files first to pdf and then combine in one pdf file but maybe there is a simpler way.
    Appreciate any tips from the experts.
    Thank you.
