Does Places recognize all GPS cameras?

I'm looking at getting a new compact camera that has integrated GPS from the following new models:
Samsung HZ35W
Panasonic Lumix ZS7
Sony HX5V
(are there any others?)
Is all EXIF GPS data recorded so that iPhoto 09 places can read it? (Each manufacturer only mentions using their own GPS Mapping Windows software with no mention of Mac or iPhoto)

Ha ha! No, that's ridiculous! I swear Panasonic thinks Macs are from another planet. GPS data is automatically read by iPhoto with the rest of the EXIF data. You import pictures no different than with a regular camera. All the photos will automatically show up in Places. And if you click the "i" icon in each photo, it flips around and calls up a Google Map showing where it was taken. So it works just as seamlessly as iPhone photos with GPS.
In fact, movies recorded in AVCHD also have GPS data attached! I have no idea if iMovie knows what to do with that. But at least it's there. M-JPEG movies do not have GPS data.
It sounds like what Panasonic is referring to is the ability to permanently GPS/Time stamp individual photos in the bottom corner with a permanent overlay. That has to be done manually.
On a side note, I will add that since the Lumix uses just GPS (and not the Assisted-GPS like the iPhone), it can take a couple minutes for it to lock onto the signal if you've had it in a pocket. And you must have a clear view of the sky. There's a display that shows how old your GPS location data is. So if you are driving down the freeway taking photos, don't expect the GPS show exactly where you were when the picture was snapped.
