Does PowerBook G4 meet minimum requirements to upgrade to OS X 10.5.8?
My current OS is OS X 10.4.11 on PowerBook G4(1.67ghz). I try to use new iPhone 4 with my PowerBook G4 until I purchase new MacBook Pro. But the iPhone 4 is not working on my old OS. Where can I find information of the system requirement to upgrade to 10.5.8?
Thanks in advance for help!
Is the "Power PC G4 (867 MHz or faster) processor" included my PowerBook G4, too?
Yes.

my PowerBook-G4 operating system software - Mac OS X 10.5.8 - does not meet minimum requirements for downloading the latest version of FireFox ... is there an UpDate to a newer version of my op.sys. software, Or, what is a better choice of an UpGrade to a newer/different op.sys. software ?
Thanx! The best maintained PowerPC browser at the moment is TenFourFox:
http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
It is a Mac port of a newer version of FF thatn any PowerPC Mac can support natively. It runs, looks and feel like FF.
I found some add-ons that helped TFF with speed issues. Pleae see my post in another PPC forum:

I know that In version 11g it would list the RPM that are missing for the install. Where can I find the same thing for 12c?

Software problem? Installed graphics card does not meet minimum requirements
Ok - I seem to have just met the same problem that others have experienced. MB Pro, less than 3 years old, graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256MB. I have been using Aperture up until about 1/2 hour ago with no problem. Just now trying to sync my iPad, and Aperture (which launches automatically) responds with "installed graphics card does not meet minimum requirements". All software is fully up to date, running latest versions of all Apple software. What is going on please? I have restarted several times, tried Command/Option/P/R on restarting, but nothing seems to make it work.
You might try to reboot again, this time with the Shift-key hold down to boot into safe mode. This will clear some caches and reset the graphics card. Aperture will not run in safe mode. You will have to reboot a second time.
Do you use an external Monitor? Then disconnect it, before rebooting.
Regards
Léonie
P.S: Do you use a blue tooth keyboard? If you turn it on while booting, you may accidentally boot into Safe mode without noticing it, and then Aperture will give exactly the above error message. -

Adobe CS3 Windows 7 installation says does not meet minimum requirements
I am trying to install Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium on a brand new Windows 7 machine (32-bit). It is a downloaded copy from Adobe's website.
When I start the install process, it takes me to the "Options" Screen and will not let me install Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign. All those options are grayed out.
At the bottom, the reason it gives is as follows:
"The minimum system requirements listed below needed to run adobe photoshop cs3 are required and are not met:
- Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
- Windows Vista"
It gives the same error for the other 2 programs as well.
I have tried the following troubleshooting steps already with no luck:
1. Run Setup.exe as Administrator
2. Run Setup.exe in compatibility mode (either as Windows XP SP2, or Windows Vista)
3. Logged-in to Administrator profile and tried installing from there
4. did the regsvr32 on both vbscript.dll and jscript.dll.
5. Tried the CS3 cleanup tool at multiple levels.
6. Made sure there are no other Adobe products installed
7. Called Adobe Tech support, they are no help. They said to re-install the OS, which doesn't make any sense since it's a clean install.
No AV installed yet, so that's not the issue either.
Any ideas?I realise I'm a bit late to the party here.. but after spending a few hours going through the Adobe CS3 Bootstrapper and Install process and files, I have the answer to why Windows 7 does not meet the minimum requirements.
The answer is in the xml files contained in the payloads for the CS3 Installation.
Line 72786 of AdobeIllustrator13en_US.proxy.xml :
<SystemRequirementsJSON>[
{"OS":{"Windows":{"XP":{"Exclude":true,"Require":{"MinServicePack":"2","@servicePack64Bit" :1
,"Need64Bit":"0"}},"Server2003":{"Exclude":true},"Vista":{"Require":true}}},
"Memory":{"System":{"Default":{"Require":"512","Exclude":"500"}}},
"Display":{"Default":{"Require":{"Width":"1024","Height":"768"},"Exclude":{"Width":"800"," Height":"600"}}}
]</SystemRequirementsJSON>
Basically it is this: For Adobe Illustrator CS3 the following is supported: Windows XP SP2, or Vista ONLY
Not Windows XP SP2 or above, or Windows XP SP2 and Vista or above ...
The same is in several other files, but not all. Illustrator and InDesign are the 2 that I know of.
I have 500 odd machines that I need to deploy this software to.
If Adobe would like to offer a work around with consideration to deploying the software silently via Microsoft SMS to 500 Windows 7 Workstations - I would be most grateful.
My rage at software installer developers with such little foresight is only tempered by the knowledge that the task itself is so difficult.
However, that does not excuse the lack of thought given to how enterprise level administrators are supposed to deal with updates, patches, and deployments to machines where users have limited rights, and the difficulty that is caused by the inclusion of unhelpful and sparse documentation and software (such as Adobe Updater). -

Mid 2007 iMac video card does not meet minimum requirements for latest iMovie update
Tried updating to the latest version of iMovie and I get the following message. "Your computer's video card does not meet the minimum system requirements." I haven't had any luck finding what those requirements are. What are the minimum requirements?
Thanks.I'm having the same issue here too. I'm using a mid 2007 iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB of SDRAM and ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB.
What bugs me is that the update shows up but you are not allowed to install it. Either one of two things needs to happen.
#1 apple allows users to hide the update but still let you know that there is a hardware incompatibality
#2 don't let the update show up at all -
Sp54471 - Does not meet minimum requirements (Trying to get switchable graphics back)
I accidentally lost my switchable graphics by trying to update using drivers directly from AMD. I do not have the HP restore manager anymore. I tried downloading sp54471.exe from HP, but whenever I try to install it, it says I do not meet the minimum requirements. I have tried useing the Support Assistant tool as well, but it also gives the same error. When trying to just use the tool to find updates, it does not include anything for the graphics.
Hi: You need to use this driver... This package provides the AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver and Catalyst Control Center for supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. For notebooks with switchable graphics modes, this package includes drivers for both graphics processing units (GPUs). Switchable graphics enable users to switch between a power-saving graphics mode (normally used under battery power) and a high-performance graphics mode. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver. File name: sp55092.exe You will never be able to update the switchable graphics driver, so after you get things working again with this driver you will have to leave well enough alone.

This system does not have the minimum requirements
install graphics driver for windows 8.1 64 bit in my laptop (i3 processor).got error in this system does not have the minimum requirements
Hi: Your notebook is not supported by HP for W8.1. See if the W7 graphics driver from your notebook's support page works. Manually install it if the auto install doesn't work. This package provides the driver that enables the Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver. File name: SP52195.exe

System does not meet minimum requirements - Apeture Checker indicates ok
When loading Apeture I got the message that my system does not meet the minimum configuration. Running the Apeture Checker I get the message that my system is fine.
What gives, what do I do?
I have tried this on my G5, 1.8 GHz, 2.5 GB Ram, 20" Apple display.
Larry in SCthrow away the prefs files for both aperture and the checker and try again. that may help.

Powerbook g4 leopard minimum requirements
I need help, I have a powerbook g4 with the following basic specs: 1.5 ghz, ram 256 built in, 1 gb sdram, is this enough to upgrade to leopard? I have install dvd from a third party, but when I try to install it, an error "can't validate base system package" appears. I read other forums and they suggest to remove any third party hardware, so I remove my ram. But still I can't enter installation mode properly. I don't have enough budget to afford a new mac so I just decide to upgrade the OS. Is it possible to install with 256 mb ram?
