Does powerpoint now work fwds and backwards with swf ?

Powerpoint 2007
Having followed correct procedure to place an swf into powerpoint 2007, it played fine heading in a positive direction through the slides, 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc but then returning back to the page with the swf on it, it was still at the END of the movie, we needed not to see the end result but for it to play again.
Now that Powerpoint is at 2013, has this problem been fixed.
Unable to go for upgrade due to financial company rules but maybe knowing it is solved an exception could be made.

Good point.
Probably one for dual posting as flash users would certainly know of the fact of this happening if they tried for powerpoint, whilst powerpoint users might not even know of flash !
I'll try over there also, but there have to be some flash users who have had fun and games in powerpoint and I seek their experiences as much as powerpoint users, and they are more likely to be on this forum normally.
Also that would have to be a Microsoft forum and so I would have to go through the rigmarole of joining it, getting permission from employer etc, not straightforward.

Unfortunately, FaceTime has been banned by the Middle Eastern governments so once you have purchased an iPhone from a Middle Eastern country such as the UAE without FaceTime on it, then you can never get FaceTime on that phone.
If you want FaceTime on your phone, you will have to buy a new phone from a country that allows FaceTime such as the US or the UK.

Good, be sure not to use their uninstaller, which can cause more havoc, use the instructions in my first link.

Does remote sync work on a P990i with a .Mac account?

As there is a sad lack of iSync for the above phone does anyone know if remote sync works on a P990i with a .Mac account?
And if so, what are the settings?

The version from Microsoft is very buggy and crashes a lot for me. I've had better luck with CoRD (which crashes on rare occasions) and have compiled the Linux rdesktop, which runs like lightning but doesn't have the nice features of CoRD.

Howto? Working in and out with clips/timeline to ST Pro?

I need your help!
I have a feature-length documentary film which is essentially done and am just now starting to work with ST Pro for audio cleanup. I have FCP Studio with the most recent updates installed from Apple. Here's my problem...
Let's say I have a 5-second clip from tape #4 laid into my sequence timeline and I'd like to send the audio of that clip to ST for 60-hertz hum removal. That clip is pulled from a full 60-minute transfer of a tape which may contain more than one scene (say an interview, exterior B-roll, and another interview, all on the same tape). Okay, so I highlight the audio (in this case only one active channel) and I right-click it on the timeline to "Send To.... Soundtrack Audio File" (or something like that), as opposed to a "Send To.... Soundtrack Multitrack Audio File." So... Soundtrack opens and the waveform appears BUT rather than just the 5-seconds of audio, it has pulled in the entire audio from the whole tape #4!
Now, I can SORT OF work with this in that I can carefully find the 5-seconds, hit "Analyze" and stuff, but then the whole tape seems to get processed in addition to only the part I want. This appears to affect the entire audio of all the scenes, which may or may not be used elsewhere in the sequence or elsewhere. Not to mention the fact that the processing time is FOREVER.
If I conversely send the clip out as a "Sountrack Multitrack" the audio I'm interested in still is nested within the entire audio from the tape.
What do I need to do so that I can work side by side with Soundtrack as I refine bits and pieces of audio as I continue to refine my entire edited project? Do I need to do something back in FCP
I have posted this issue on CreativeCow.net but haven't had any response. I hope I have laid out my issue clearly for your responses!

Hi,
This might help: When the clip is opened in Soundtrack Pro, there are markers for the start and end point corresponding to the clip in FCP. You can double-click between these markers to select just the region used in the clip. Then when you apply process effects, noise reduction, etc. they will only apply to the the selected region used in the clip. The fact that you get the entire captured media with markers for the clip is sometimes useful (e.g. you need to apply noise reduction to the entire bit of media) and sometimes not.

Considering the fact that the mac pro can hold 8TB and a external (non NAS) hard drive can hold only 2TB does time machine only backup the OS disk.

Time Machine will backup everything by default, on every disk in your Mac.
Choose System Preferences > Options to exclude items. You could exclude everything except your OS...but I'd think it is your data that's more important to you, if you have to make choices.

While it's true you can store almost 8TB, how much do you think you'll actually store? If you have 1TB of data you want to store then a 2TB drive can do it. Also when your TM drive begins to get full it will begin deleting the oldest backups to make room.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

Well , thats the way the US carriers work; they hold it back then charge you (sometimes) for what the rest of the world has.
ATT is not bad ion thisrespect - you should check out Verizon. If Verizon ever got hold of the iPhone the US folks would have a totally crippled device and end up paying bit by bit to turn on everything that the rest of the planet takes for granted.

Does PCI-6534 work on Win7 32bit with DAC (Legacy) 7.5 and if so, NI-VISA or NI-PXI

I have a PCI-6534 DAC installed in a Windows 7 32bit machine. I've installed:
NI-DAQ (Legacy) 7.5.0
NI-VISA 5.4.1
NI-488 3.1.2
PCI-6534 shows up in Measurement & Automation Explorer. However, the 6534 is not showing up under VISA and I can't communicate through VISA. The only VISA devices that show up from Python are the serial ports. I'm told that this SHOULD work by other engineers. It that is true, what am I doing wrong? What can I check next?
I'm beginning to think VISA is not supported on the PCI-6534. If not, how do I communicate with this card from Python 2.7.6? Is there a DLL or through NI-PXI?

Why can't you use python with the supported api - DAQmx? Who told you to use VISA?

HT1476 Hi I have an iphone 4 and have a number of car chargers which until recently all chared the phone ok, none now work but are ok with other makes of phone (using different USB leads).

All car chargers have recently stopped working, chargers are ok and various leads tried so can oly assume its something to do with the phone, any ideas please?

There is no iDevice limit for the number of iPods, iPads, and iPhones that can be synced with the same iTunes library and iTunes account on the same computer. iTunes creates and maintains a backup for each device, and each device can have its own sync preferences with iTunes - the same as another device synced with iTunes on the same computer, or completely or somewhat different, etc.
Every new iPhone model released since the original iPhone was released has been better in some or a number of aspects. It will probably be the same with the next iPhone model released - a safe bet to count on it to some extent at least, but what that is will be is anyone's guess at this point until Apple makes an announcement.

Adding to what Templeton said, there are no free upgrades to get you beyond ARD 1.x and no reduced pricing for owners of previous versions of ARD. You'll have to purchase a new copy at full price. ARD 3.0 is the current version now, but it's possible you could find a copy of ARD 2.x at a dealer who carries old stock.
Note that ARD 2.x and 3.x no longer support Mac OS 8/9 clients, and ARD 3.0 does not support Mac OS X 10.1 or 10.2 clients. I don't know if either situation would apply to you, but wanted you to be aware just in case.

6.0 and 6.1 did not support webroot antivirus so I was not going to update until this problem was resolved.

The only requirement is to have the same Firefox Sync version installed on all computers. The OS doesn't matter as long as you can install Firefox and the extension.

Does OScontrols now work in Shockwave on Windows 7?

For many years I have used OScontrols with MX2004 for drop down menus and other input or navigation controls. Many of our .DXR materials were converted to Shockwave and worked perfectly on the Web until Windows 7. With Windows 7 and the new Windows browser, OScontrols stopped working. A red box would appear and James Netwon decided not to upgrade unicode.
Just the other day, I was working on converting some of our materials to Director 11.5, when I happened to open a couple of our old Shockwave files on a Windows 7 machine in a browser. Low and behold, OScontrols was working! I tried Chrome and Firefox and they worked too! Am I delusional? Did I overlook something? Or does the new Shockwave (or the new browsers) now support OScontrols? Or maybe they always did and I just couldn't see it?
I just hope I haven't overlooked something and that suddenly it turns to illusion! Anyone know anything about this?

Sadly now the GT72 2QE doesn't support the Windows 7 officially, so you can't get the compatible drivers for the Windows 7.

3D Transform does not now work on elements 10. Why?

When accessing the 3D Transform and selecting the shape required and OK. The shape does not download to a blank page. Also the anchor points, pan camera tool and trackball tool are all greyed out. All these features worked a few months ago. What has happened please?

Although the 3d transform filter will install in pse 10 under windows it might not always work as it was designed for older versions of photoshop (elements)
For the first part (shape does not appear on a blank layer)
Look under Options and uncheck Display Background
Or start with a new blank layer. (transparent layer)
For the anchor points it needs to be a shape drawn with the Cylinder Tool (C)
The Trackball and Pan Camera are greyed out until you actually draw out the shape.
I'll post the instructions for the 3d transform tool from an old photoshop help manual.

For crying out loud! Nothing but question after question. Could you people at least CHIME in with a NO or a YES as to whether or not you have the X-FI working with Vista OK Also, what level of functionality do you have and with what driver Come on. It's bad enough Creative won't provide any support but at WE can discuss. I've never seen a more useless forum filled with more questions and NO ANSWERS!:angry:

It mostly works means just that. Most, not all features work. Some that do work don't work as well as they did under XP. I'm not going to spoon feed you about which features do work and to what exact degree. You'll have to put that list together yourself. Reading a couple pages of threads will give you a good start.
If no one answers your questions it means you are the only one having the problem that is on the board today. Maybe tomorrow as well. Seems pretty obvious really. Or the other guy that once had it has moved on by fixing it, or perhaps he decided to just live with it, or maybe he just replaced the card with a functional one. Unless he comes back and tells us we'll never really know.
Perhaps your off-putting attitude has made anyone else that does know not care enough to help you.
