Does PP CS6 support DV output with MPE (CUDA) Hardware Acceleration turned on?

I am wondering if Adobe has addressed the issue of not allowing DV (firewire, ieee1394) output when MPE is turned on with hardware support? Any ideas?  I am using CS5.52 and wonder if this is corrected in CS6.
Thanks,
Doug A

CS6 will let you play directly off the timeline to DV or print to tape using DV with the MPE on.  In PAL land we do have a field problem however - all DV output through hardware (ie not making a DV file) has the fields the wrong way round.
When previewing off the timeline you do not notice so much unless you have "both fields" enabled. They you will see a peculiar wobble on shots.  The best soloution we have found, if you really need to export to DV, is render the timeline to a file (we make a standard DV PAL file), put it on a new timeline and invert the fields for that file.  Then export to tape works fine.
There is not reallt a great solution for playing live off the timeline apart from only watching a single field output.
I do not know if it is problem for NTSC but I am guessing it is not, which is why it was missed.

  • Does Photoshop CS6 support Nikon D810 raw files?

Does Photoshop CS6 support Nikon D810 raw files? Photoshop won't allow me to open the raw files and Bridge won't display the files either. I tried to download the camera raw plug-in 8.6 but read somewhere that Photoshop CS6 doesn't support it? HELP!!!

It should. The D810 had support since version 8.6. (A relative newcomer.) Did you use Help > Updates on the menu bar?
Take note that the updates for Camera Raw in CS6 only supports updates for cameras and nothing more. You won't get any of the new features inherent in the versions for Photoshop CC (like the filter brush in the Graduated Filter).

  • Difference in AE file Imported into PPro with MPE in Hardware vs. Software Mode

I am getting an undesireable result when importing AE files into a PPro Sequence with MPE in hardware mode. The top (or left) pic is accurate, with MPE in Software mode (nice soft glow). In the bottom pic, MPE is in Hardware mode. Note the undesireable (and inaccurate) harder glow. These AE files are output in an uncompressed AVI with alpha channel. The pics below were imported into PPro with the AE file placed over a black clip in PPro (Video Layer 1=Black. Video Layer 2= AE text w/Alpha). Any thoughts, or better yet, solutions?!

Jim, so you're suggesting that I create my graphics in PPro instead of AE? That's not going to work! I must be one of the few people out there that output AE files with an alpha channel and import them into PPro, for I can't imagine Adobe not addressing this if many people were using AE & PPro together in this fashion. I guess I'm stuck having to continue to use MPE in software mode only (alpha channels work perfectly in this mode, but I have to do a lot of rendering.). I used to blame Matrox for this problem. Sure glad I haven't upgraded to a Titan!
BTW, I get the same undesireable results in MPE Hardware Mode when using Dynamic Linked Comps to AE.
One last question: does the quality of the video card make any difference with this alpha channel problem I'm having with MPE? I'd buy a Titan card right now if that would solve my problem!

  • CS6 CUDA hardware acceleration?

AME is failing when i export sequences to it from Premiere Pro CS6. AME sometimes hangs,
sometimes fails with an "unknown error", and sometimes says it succeeds but there is no
file created. from another discussion thread, it was suggested that i turn off CUDA hardware
acceleration in Premiere before sending the sequence to AME. This solved my problem.
So ... is the correct workflow to turn on hardware acceleration in Premiere for editing, and then turn it off before queuing the export to AME? Why doesn't AME work with hardware acceleration turned
    on in Premiere?
    ken fong

Ken, the way it's supposed to work is that a Premiere project's GPU setting will  be honored when that project is rendered in AME.  So if GPU acceleration is turned off for a PPro project, AME shouldn't utilize the GPU when rendering it regardless of how the project is sent to AME.
Are you saying that with GPU acceleration turned off you're still seeing issues when you hit the Queue button from Premiere but not when dragging the project to AME's Queue panel?
Also, is there anything special about the directory where you're exporting your WMV file?  Can you choose a different output directory (the Desktop for example) and re-export to see if it shows up?  Also, when you click the Output File path link to the missing WMV file do you get an error or does it open the folder but not show you any files?

  • Does AirPort Extreme support external drives with Advanced Format (4K) ?

    Hi!
I have an AirPort Extreme from 2008 and now i want to use a Raid 1 USB HDD for Time Machine.
The new disks often has the new "Advanced Format" (4K blocks).
Does this APE support such 4k drives?
At the moment i don't have any experience with this new format,
for this reason i don't know if the APE or the hdd case has to support this format.
    regards

    1) I'm using a simple USB Disk, connected to my APE, as Time Machine Backup Volume. This works quite well for about a year.
Yes, for a few folks it does appear to work for a number of days, weeks, or months. But sooner or later, the backups turn up corrupted, often beyond repair. It happens to me about eery 3 months, which seems fairly typical. That's likely why Apple doesn't support it, and nobody should depend on it.
    2) The RAID Case shows only a single disk to the connected device, raid 1 handling ist internal and so it's again just a simple usb disk.
Correct. I didn't say otherwise. In a supported location, Time Machine will back up to a hardware RAID set (but not a software one).
    3) The link with the supported disks doesn't handle the new disk format 4k. :-/ Maybe the support entry is too old.
Note that it's a 2008 Airport Extreme; that predates the support article by at least a couple of years.
But by all means, call AppleCare if you don't believe the support article.

Does Nokia X7 supports USB Mass Storage Devices when plugged in as the Nokia N8 does?

It does not support HDMI probably a cost cutting measure,it supports microUSB v2.0, USB On-the-go support.
And it supports USB mass storage

  • Does PPro CS6 support PNY K6000?

I found out that PPro CS6 supports the following combination: PNY Quadro 6000 w/ Tesla C2075.
What about the Quadro K6000? Can PPro at least leverage the same performance from the K6000 as it would have from the (non-K)6000 or is it not supported at all?
If the latter, as of when will the compatibility be rolled out to end users?
    Thank you!

Why would you put an AVCHD clip into an HDV sequence?
HDV is specific to video from a HiDef TAPE camera, not a file from a newer type of camera

  • Adobe Flash with R9 290 Hardware Acceleration Black Videos

I am not sure what causes this bug. I can restart the computer and it fixes the issue but randomly after a while it goes back to black. I can disable hardware acceleration and sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. There are 2 other people I know that had this issue. This happens to me both in Firefox and Chrome.
    http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2179088/290-black-screen-issue-possibly-due-adobe-f lash.html#14303459
I would report it to the bug site but it seems to be broken.
    Images:
    R9 290 Black Video Bug - Imgur

With hardware acceleration, we basically just hand everything off to the video card driver.  It's pretty much an on/off proposition.  My recommendation would be to install the latest AMD drivers that match that chipset to see if there are bugfixes that the OEM hasn't picked up.  Ongoing driver updates on these OEM cards typically aren't as good as what you'd get from an AMD-branded card, but the AMD drivers will typically work (but are unsupported) for the cards made by third-party integrators.  Just set a system restore point or keep a copy of the OEM drivers handy in the odd case you need to roll back.
If you're experiencing this with hardware acceleration disabled, make sure that you're looking at Flash video.  YouTube serves a lot of HTML5 video these days.  If you right click on it and it says About HTML5, disabling hardware acceleration in Flash isn't going to help you.
Anyway, if you're for sure looking at Flash videos that aren't rendering and hardware acceleration is disabled, please send me an exact link to the video that reproduces it.
In addition, detailed information about your OS and the browser version would be helpful in attempting to reproduce it on our end.
    Thanks!

  • Does my MacBook support HD output?

    I am considering buying this monitor - http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=e n&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-7438
I have a MacBook 4,1 which has a mini DVI port for output?
As you may notice from the link, this monitor supports full HD content. My question - is my MacBook capable of HD output? If not, then what kind of compatibility (i.e. screen resolution and picture quality) can I expect between the monitor and my MacBook?
Also, what all connectors/converters would I need to buy to get things working? Which connection would give me a better resolution (DVI or VGA)?

    It should work.
The maximum supported resolution is 1920x1200. It should be able to share information with the monitor and adjust the output resolution to match that of the monitor.
You could use the Apple Mini-DVI to DVI adapter, since the monitor seems to come with a DVI cable. You might also try a special mini-DVI to DVI cable like the following:

  • Does Adobe CS6 support touch gestures?

I'm talking about touchscreen-and-pen devices like (on Windows) Samsung Slate 7 and Asus EP121 and (Mac) Modbook. I mean touch gestures like pinch-zoom, panning and so on. At the moment I understand that in CS5.5 these aren't supported at all on Windows, and are only for the touchpad on a Mac (maybe they work with the modbook, not sure).
My hope is that in CS6, where there's a pen and touch combo, it'll behave like other modern software, with pen will behaving as normal, and touch used for panning and gestures.
If this is true, it'll definitely be worth upgrading.

No, it's software: touch input and gestures etc are received by other applications just fine via the standard OS drivers. It's a question of what each application is programmed to do with that input. Some listen for and respond to gestures and distinguish touch from other input - e.g. most browsers know to treat touch as panning and mouse/pen as select text. CS5.5 sometimes doesn't even register touch input at all, and almost never registers touch dragging. On the few occasions it registers anything at all, it treats it like any mouse input.
My hope is that in CS6, Adobe will have supported standard touch input and will interpret it appropriately, supporting standard gestures.

  • Does the RV180 support DHCPv6-PD with firmware 1.0.3.10?

    Hello-
I am running a SOHO on Comcast and wish to get IPv6 working.  I have read some old posts around the 'net stating that the Cisco RV180 does not support DHCPv6-PD, and that this is needed to successfully use IPv6 with Comcast.  Firmware 1.0.3.10 was released in late July 2013.  I don't see anything in the release notes stating that DHCPv6-PD support was added, so I suspect it was not.  Can anyone confirm that it still does not?  Does anyone know if it will be added in the near future (say 6 months?)
    Thanks!

I can confirm that it does not.  Been working with Tuska (from Comcast) on this for over a year and no word from Cisco on whether they plan to build the functionality into the next firmware build or not.  Tuska has formally requested Cisco make this update.  Very disappointed in the black hole that Cisco has allowed this to fall into.  This is supposed to be a business product (why I purchased it), I expected more.
Just ordered a new router to replace my RV180 since I see no hope of Cisco getting it together.  I think Cisco is more interested in supporting their large corporate accounts and have abandoned supporting SOHO (as evident with the sale of Linksys to Belkin).

  • Does Premiere E support video shot with Canon 5D or Sony XDCAM EX?

Does anyone know if I can edit video shot with Canon 5D or Sony XDCAM EX? I did some research but can't find the answer!

Which version of PrE are you looking into? PrE 10 has DSLR Presets that cover the Canon 5D. Not sure about the XDCAM EX, but this ARTICLE covers the supported formats. I know that PrPro CS 5.5 offers full, native support for XDCAM footage, but do not see it in the PrE list.
    Good luck,

Probably an online tutorial or step-by-step instruction. Thanks a lot!
