Does Premiere Elements 13 Support 4K video?

Somehow my previous question disappeared. Does this program support 4K to burn to 4K Blu Rays?

351mustang
Both Premiere Elements 12 and 13 have project presets for the video with the resolution of 3840 x 2160 (a 4K resolution) under NTSC only. It also offers
export of the 3840 x 2160 resolution under Publish+Share/Computer/XAVC-S. There is no burn to Blu-ray with any 4K resolution.
Remember, that 4K is a resolution. And, the video codec from manufacturer to manufacturer can vary which impacts the question. The generalization is that
H.264.mp4 4K video is supported by Premiere Elements 12 and 13.
Project Presets, please see NTSC/AVCHD/QFHD choices
Export Opportunity to .mp4 file - please see Publish+Share/Computer/XAVC-S and its presets.
Any questions or need clarification on any of the above, please let us know.
Thank you.

  • Does premiere elements support analog video

I have DVD's of analog videos burned from a 8mm Camcorder recorded in UDF format. Does Premiere Elements support analog video for editing?

Thanks for what sounds like good news.
I see no need for you to convert those VTS_01_1.VOB files into anything else.
    Here is my suggested plan...
    a. Download and install the free 30 day tryout of Premiere Elements 12 from Adobe
    b. Put your DVD disc in the DVD burner tray. Open Premiere Elements 12 to the Expert workspace.
Click on File Menu/New/Export and set the project preset for NTSC DV Standard or Widescreen (depending on whether
your files are for standard 4:3 or widescreen 16:9)...do not forget the check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on
    This Project".
    c. Then back in the Expert workspace, use Add Media/"DVD Camera or Computer Drive"/Video Importer. In the Video Importer,
put a check mark next to your VTS_01_1.VOB, a check mark next to Add to Timeline, and designate at Save In location. Then click
Get Media to put the file in Project Assets and on the Timeline.
    d. Then we can gauge the situation.
Again, if possible, do not purchase the program until you have work through the tryout in order determine if Premiere Elements 12 work for your video editing/export goals and is compatible with your computer environment.
We will be watching for further developments.

Add On...If any problems (I do not expect any) with Add Media/DVD Camera or Computer Drive), we might consider Add Media/Files and Folders/ and navigate to the VTS_01_1.VOB.

  • Does Premiere Elements support Intel Quick Sync?

    Hi all,
Does anyone know if Premiere Elements supports Intel Quick Sync? If not, does anyone know if I can download the plugins made for Premiere Elements 8/9 and use it in version 10?
    Thanks for any help.

You can use those plugins for 32-bit versions of Premiere Elements 10. PrE10 also has a 64-bit version and that will not support 3rd party 32-bit plugins.

  • Does Premiere Elements support video from Sony HDR-XR160 camcorder???

I have premiere elements 12 and I cannot get it to download video files taken with a Sony AVCHD camcorder HDR-XR160.

Answers will be in the details. As a generalization, probably yes.
On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Have you updated 12 to the 12.1 Update? If not, please do so using an opened project's Help Menu/Update.
What are the properties of your source media that you are trying to import into your Premiere Elements project?
    AVCHD.mts or AVCHD.mp4, 1920 x 1080 @ 60 progressive frames per second or other?
How are you trying to import files from your Sony HDR-XR160
    a. Add Media/Videos from Flip or Camera/Video Importer - involves USB connection between camera and computer on which Premiere Elements is installed
    or
    b. Add Media/Files and Folders from the hard drive save location to where your files have been transferred from camera to computer.
Try setting the project preset manually first
    NTSC AVCHD 1080p60
and then importing the 1080p60 into the project with that Add Media/Videos from Flip or Camera/Video Importer or Add Media/Files and Folders.
See details of manually setting project preset toward the bottom of the following blog
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Accuracy of Automatic Project Preset (New Project Dialog) Setting
If your program is on a Mac computer, use the AVCHD.mp4 choice instead of the AVCHD.mts choice or convert the AVCHD.mts to
AVCHD.mp4 if your are dealing with videos already recorded.
More details will help us to help you.
    Thank you.

  • Does Premiere Elements support DVCPRO-HD? How do I ingest and work with HD-footage from HVX-200?

    Hi there,
I work with Premiere Elements 11 on a windows PC, and I try to ingest HD-footage from Panasonic HVX-200 Camcorder. Premiere Elements only recognizes thumbnails, but not the footage itself? What do I have to do? Or does Elements only support SD-footage? Do I have to install DVCPRO-HD Codec? Where do I get it then?
Thanks for your help!, yours Mike

    Welcome to the forum.
PrE does support HD material, just not all of it.
With DVCPRO HD on P2 media, I am not sure that you will be able to work directly with the media files from your Panasonic in PrE. This is the list of supported formats: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premiereelements/using/WSeffff8bffc802084-1665492e133c9c19956- 8000.html#WS300DE01D-F057-4639-96D1-F99EEE163C24
PrPro can Import and edit DVCPRO HD on P2 media. The Panasonic P2, along with its metadata is supported: http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/extend.html

  • Does premiere elements 13 support canon mov files?

Does Premiere Elements support Canon mov files or must I convert the mov file to a different format first?  If I have to convert the mov file first, what file conversion program should I use and what file type should I convert it to?

    Howard Scheer
Thanks for the additional very helpful information.
    Two concerns in your case...
    1. Canon 70D and its H.264 intra frame compression. Please refer to the following
current thread on the color fade of the exports of the Canon 70D footage
    export quality
    2. Premiere Elements 10 on a computer with a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card
is bad news. The typical fix is to roll back the driver version to about May 2013. But, when the
computer operating system is Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit, often there is not an older enough driver
version to revert to in order to get Premiere Elements 10 to display and work properly.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2014/02/pe10-nvidia-video-card-roll-back.html
Also see Announcement at top of this forum about the Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce issue.
You should not expect to run into this problem in Premiere Elements 13. But, go tryout before purchase
to assure the compatibility of the program with your computer environment and project goals.
Please review and consider and then we can discuss your situation further.
    Thank you.

  • Does Premiere elements 10 support MOV movie clip formats?

Does  premiere elements 10 support MOV movie clip formats?

MOV is really but a wrapper, and can contain a broad range of CODEC's. Many, like PhotoJPEG, Animation, H.264, and many more will work fine, so long as one has Apple's QT Player installed, or the necessary CODEC's installed. However, if the file came from a Mac, and went to a PC, and had been Exported from FCP, or similar, there could well be one of the Apple Intermediate CODEC's inside, and most of those are NOT available on the PC. Also, if the file came from FCP, even if going to a Mac, there are CODEC's, that will only come from FCP, so one would need that program installed.
This ARTICLE will give you more detail on File Formats as "wrappers."
Please let us now what is inside that MOV wrapper, and someone can direct you.

  • Does Premiere Pro support a "self-record" mode?

Does Premiere Pro support a "self-record" mode? It would record a new video with the source being what you are previewing, in terms of "animation" rather than in terms of the quality seen on screen. I often like to make humorous effects by dragging the time indicator back and forth, and have to resort to recording my own screen while in semi-fullscreen mode, then import that video and crop out the chrome. This obviously is not optimal and results in significant quality loss. Does Pr itself have such a feature built in?
I doubt it does, but it would be extremely useful.

Ditto what mark said. The intended purpose of the project manager is basically to do just as you said. It was a great solution for anyone that wanted to store the few usable minutes of their media and were confident in just discarding the rest. The problem is that, as Mark said, it doesn't handle the trimming of all common file types these days. That's because, in video, 'destructive' editing is always a matter of re-exporting edited versions and project manage simply cannot export every format to any format. The original files are never actually being trimmed down, you're just getting new versions to replace the old ones with. This represents another drawback in the form of generational loss. That's why the Project Trimmer many not be the ideal solution for you even if it is able to trim all applicable formats for you.
I tend to agree with Jim and thing that the better way to go is with Prelude. With that app, you can log what you want before hand and then capture (or, more accurately, 'Ingest') just those parts from the start. Still, it might be a good idea to save the original footage on memory card(s), hard drive(s)s (or , dare I say, tape(s_?). That way if you find out later that you didn't capture (or ingest) all of what you wanted, you can always go back and get it. Also you'll have an additional backup which could easily be re-captured from the original source if you've save the prelude project(s).

  • Does Premiere Elements use a "rate curve" for pan/zoom?

Does Premiere Elements pan/zoom feature have a sort of accelerate/decelerate option, either user-selectable, or built in to the pan/zooms?
By accelerate/decelerate, I mean the pan/zoom will start very slowly, then over a period of just a second or two, accelerate to whatever constant speed it needs to move the user-defined distance in the user-defined time, and then at the end of the pan/zoom, decelerate over the last second or two, to a stop.
Makes the pan/zoom seem much more "human/organic"...as opposed to, "robot-like" if the pan/zoom does not gently accelerate/decelerate at the start and end.
    Thanks...

If you are referring to Bezier Curves and interpolation methods, yes with regard to keyframing the Motion Scale property (for Zoom) and the Motion Position property (for Pan). The Pan and Zoom Tool keyframes can also be adjusted. Keyframing of some other properties can also be adjusted.
From Premiere Elements 13/13.1 on Windows 7 or 8.1 64 bit.
Below is an example from keyframing of the Crop property.
What version of Premiere Elements do you presently have and on what computer operating system is it running? If you do not already
have Premiere Elements 13/13.1, please evaluate the tryout before purchase to determine the compatibility of the program with your
computer environment and video editing goals.
Please let me know if I have targeted your question. Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • Can Premiere Elements 13 export videos at 60 FPS?

I am currently using Premiere Elements 10, and the highest quality video I am able to export for any file type is only 30 Frames Per Second. Does Premiere Elements 13 allow you to export videos at 60 Frames Per Second?
I am trying to export high quality gameplay footage captured at 60 FPS. I can import those videos into Premiere Elements 10, but since I can only export 30 FPS videos, the quality suffers.

    apogue87
Whether you use Premiere Elements 10 or 13, you should have the opportunity to export to file with a frame rate of 59.94/60 progressive frames per second. You do that my customizing the preset under the Advanced Button/Video Tab of the preset.
If you post properties of your Timeline content and the export format that you seek, I will give you more specific details. You should not have to go to 13 for what you seek.
Please review and consider, and supply more information.
    Thank you.

  • Does Premiere Elements 13 have SmartSound?  I can't find the button anywhere...

Does Premiere Elements 13 have SmartSound?  I can't find the button anywhere.  I am using Classroom in a Book Premiere Elements 11 to learn it as there isn't a CIB for PE13, so I know it's not ideal, but by looking up help PE13  mentions SmartSound but I still can't find it under my 'audio' panel.

    nic22
    No.
There is no SmartSound feature in Premiere Elements 12/12.1 and 13/13.1. In those versions, you have Music Score under the Audio Tab in the workspaces.
Music Score is the same in concept as SmartSound (you can change music duration without altering the music arrangement), but is not SmartSound.
There are several places in the Premiere Elements 13 Help PDF where information is correct for other versions but not Premiere Elements 13.
Using video tutorials and books written for versions different  than your own can get confusing. The principles tend to stay the same from version to version, but features
tend to get moved, deleted, changed from version to version. And, often the video tutorial does not
make a point of what version of the program is being used to demo the tutorial - assumption "same".
As a guide, if you are watching a video tutorial and the headers read
Quick and Expert - that is 11.
Quick , Guided, and Expert - that is 12.
eLive, Quick, Guided, Expert - that is 13. (but note, some users in Europe do not have eLive).
Please review the above. If any questions or need clarification, please ask.
    Thank you.

  • Does Premiere Elements 10 have to be permanently connected to Internet in order to work?*

Does Premiere Elements 10 have to be permanently connected to Internet in order to work?

As Steve points out, there are several modules in PrE, that need to be Activated, when first used. That Activation is usually totally seamless and transparent to the user. For those initial Activations, one does need to be connected to the Internet, but once all of those modules have been Activated, the only use for an Internet connection will be to Update the program, but that function can be done manually, by downloading any Updates with another computer, with an Internet connection, then just Copying that/those Update(s), Extracting any ZIP/7Z files, and installing them.
    Good luck,

  • Does Adobe Prelude support USB3 video import?

Does Adobe Prelude support USB3 video import?

    Hello Michael,
Thank you for the response. I have used Adobe OnLocation before with a firewire camera and a laptop. My Panasonic HMC150 has HDMI output instead of Firewire. What I was hoping to do was to connect my camera via HDMI to the BlackMagic Intensity Shuttle and then to my laptop running Prelude via USB 3.0. Do you know if any Adobe Product supports USB 3.0 camera input streaming?

    Hi Mark,
Prelude can ingest assets from mountable drives/volumes seen by the OS. If the device you connect via USB3 is mounted by the OS I would expect no issues with Prelude ingesting from it.
However, if you are referring to the possibility of Prelude capturing a live stream from and camera via USB3 then that is not something Prelude supports.
Happy to answer other questions you may have on this.
