Does Premiere support .BWF audio files (Broadcast WAV)?

I'm considering the purchase of a Fostex FR-2LE portable digital audio recorder. It records in only two formats, Broadcast WAV (.BWF and MP3). Can I import these BWF files directly to the Premiere CS3 timeline for editing? I can find no mention of BWF format in the Premiere or Audition manuals, but the literature for Audition CS3 states support. My version of Audition is 1.5.

Why doesn't Premiere support FLAC audio files?

.flac is an extension that is very useful to the majority of my coworkers as well as myself. It's quite a disappointment to see that Premiere Pro, even to this date, doesn't support the .flac extension. Does anybody know why this is or if support will be added soon?

adobe doesn't announce new features, so its anyone's guess if/when flac will be added. it is supported in audition, so if you plan on finishing in audition you can try to wait to add those flac files until then.

Does Pre7 support BWF wave files?

I understand a little about BWF files, but I was looking at purchasing a recorder that only records to BWF format. I was wondering if Premiere Elements 7 supports BWF files or will I need to work the files in another software program before Pre can use it.

BWF, short from Broadcast Wave Format, is an extension of the popular Microsoft WAVE audio format. BWF is the recording format of most file-based non-linear digital recorders used for motion picture, radio and television production. BWF is a WAV audio format to a certain degree. The only difference between a BWF and a "normal" WAV is the extended information in the file header (Bext-Chunk, Coding-History, etc...), which also limits the compatibility of BWF files. BWF is incompatible with Mac computers, most media players, portable devices or editing software.
To get rid of the file compatibility limitation, a recommended way is to convert BWF to WAV,WMA,MP3 and so on.

Adobe Audition does not playback any audio file. He opens it but does not react on the play key.

Adobe Audition CC does not playback any audio file. He opens it but does not react on the play key. It is after use audio hardware usb wi-fi headphone and return to build-it out. The program don't react now.
I see problem:
I am unable to get playback at all in CS6 on Mac. The play button or spacebar will not move the playhead or make sound come out of the foamy things with the magnets. The play button toggles back and forth between green and white, but it isn't working. This is true in both multi track and waveform view.
Anyone have ideas on what the issue could be? Thanks!

Best bet would be to go into Preferences > Audio Hardware, verify your input and output devices are correct, and probably switch your Master Clock to the opposite setting. If that fails, we can continue troubleshooting.
I have the same problem as the author writes. But these actions do not help

Where does Keynote store the audio files in a presentation

I have slides with individual audio files. When I import or attach the file and then save the presentation, it changes the file name to .mov extension. Where does Keynote store those files? I would like to edit the saved Keynote version, but cannot locate the .mov file!

I'm not exactly sure of what you want to do, and I'm not sure if my answer is the most efficient, or even wholly correct, but here goes ...
When you save a KN presentation (a KN doc) which includes an audio (or movie) file, you can save it 2 (3?) ways: either without or with the file being copied into the document, or as a "package". In a test file I just made with 3 white slides (title, slide with song, second slide with song) the results:
without: 3.8 MB; with: 9.4 MB; package: 9.4 MB. The essential difference, aside from size, is that if saved without, if you play the KN on another machine which doesn't have those audio files on it, the audio won't be there. To make the KN truly portable, you must save with, or as a package. (I'm not too sure of the concept of package in KN. In PP, saving as a package means you end up with a folder, which contains the PP and the media files, each as separate entities. Saving a KN package yields not a folder but a file, which looks to me identical to the result achieved by simply saving with, and seems to behave identically, as well.) The audio file you used will in any case remain where it was before you used it, but, if the KN doc is saved with, or as a package, a copy of it will go into the KN doc.
But then, what do you mean by "edit"? What do you want to edit, the KN presentation, or the audio file within it? If the former, I don't understand where the problem might be. If the latter: using the QT inspector within KN, you can change the length of the audio file (where in the song it starts and stops), whether to start it on click, or automatically after transition, or to loop it. If you wanted to do some other, more exotic audio editing, like reverbs or other effects, I'd do that on (a copy of) the original audio file (found wherever it was before) with another app (GarageBand, for instance), and then I'd replace the first, non-edited, version of the audio file in the KN doc with that.
Have I missed something?

Preview does not support the raw file format of the nikon d300s

preview does not support the files and snow leopard does not provide icon previews either.
is there any date when there will be support for these type of files?

Not with Preview, but Nikon Transfer v1.0.1.3005 is so far happy with 10.6.1 and you may see if there is any advantage there. Take the card out of the 300s and use a reader if you have to.
It usually takes from 3 to 6 months before Apple releases a new/specific Nikon RAW related update, so you are at the beginning of that cycle it would appear...all you can do is wait, sorry.

HT201272 I seem to have a version of overdrive media console that does not support wma audiobooks files. Is there anyone with this problem with a solution.

I recently installed the overdrive media console. I was able to down e books and mp3 books but when I tried to down wma books. A message flashes out that the omc that I installed from the apps store is unsupported format. The version of omc does not support wma audiobook titles. Any suggestions.

WMA stands for Windows Media Audio...it is a Microsoft audio format that is not supported on the Mac or iOS version of the apps. If you want to use the WMA audiobooks, you will have to use the Windows desktop app. You can use MP3 audiobooks on any version of the app.

Does QT support XDCAM-EX files?

As you can readily see, both XDCAM EX and HD codecs are supported if you have the right software installed.

Does reader support saveAs conversion file types ?

The "JavaScript for Acrobat API Reference" doc specifies that second parameter 'cConvID' of the doc.saveAs function is conversion file type id. This method is supported since 5.0 version. There is no restrictions available for reader accept security.
I tried to convert pdf document to tiff using folder level script:
doc.saveAs("/e/test.tiff", "com.adobe.Acrobat.tiff");
This produced the following error: "An unimplemented or obsolete function was called". I'm sure this is not a security issue as I'm able to save the document as pdf if second parameter is not specifed.
From another side I tried to test which conversion types are supported and executed the following code:
for ( var i = 0; i < app.fromPDFConverters.length; i++)
app.alert(app.fromPDFConverters[i]);
In this case I got: "Get not possible, invalid or unknown" on app.fromPDFConverters. My document is not hidden and this app property is supported from 6.0 reader version without any restrictions.
I don't have an idea what's wrong here - the only explanation that reader scripting does not support conversions. Online Help states these features are supported:

- Yes, I looked. There is no such restriction for the method and property specified.
What are the values for those properties?
The first box indicates that saveAs was first added to Acrobat/Reader in version 5.0. The box at the far right of the bar show S - means you need document save right only, so saveAs function will work in all versions and variations of Acrobat, including Adobe Reader since 5.0 version and if document have Save usage rights.

The note for the 'saveAs' method:

2.1.3 does not support sample project files

I just purchased Aperture 2.1.1, installed, and then updated the software to 2.1.3. I then imported the sample projects to play with before I start to mess with any of my photos.
I will get an unsupported image format Red message when triing to view any of the sample file with CR2 format. Am I doing something wrong, I would think that the sample images would at least be supported? Looks like they were taken with Canon EOS-1D Mark II N

Where does Premiere Elements 8 store files?

I recently bought a new computer and installed Elements 8 on it. I was in the middle of a video project in 7 on my old computer, had a project folder on my D drive with what I thought contained all my photos and captured video. I moved that folder to my new computer and have been able to link up my photos but cannot find the video clips. I went back to my old computer in the the organizer the frames were there with the clip names but it couldn't link to the actual video clip anymore. I've searched everywhere I know, but can't locate them I 've seen the PREV folder but need to find I guess the project folder. I sure don't want to have to recapture all the footage again if at all possible. Any answers to where Elements stores the video?? Lesson learned, don't upgrade / change computers in mid-project. I didn't think PRE does anything with the source video. It stores project details in and under the folder you select when you create a new project. These project files tell PRE what to do with the clips but does not affect the clips themselves.
To see where the source clips are just hold the cursor over a clip in the Organize tab and up it pops with the path details.

LR2 Does Not Support .rw2 RAW File

Hi. I recently downloaded RAW files taken by the new Panasonic LX3 digital camera from this website:

The RAW files have an extension of: .rw2
I tried importing one of the RAW files in LR2 and it doesn't seem recognize the file. It gave me this message: "No photos were found to import."
Any help would be really appreciated.

The correct answer is that you will be able, and it's only a question of when. My own
guess would be relative to many cameras having just been announced at Photokina. Adobe must have their hands full, but I'll bet they deliver before the end of October, certainly before the end of November.
The LX3 has also been out long enough that you may even find "unofficial" support for it in ACR v4.6.

How does java support the doc files

U cannot open a file thr' ur applet which runs in a browser. Do do so, u may have to modify the java policy file or use signed applet. These two links may be of some help for u.
