My question is that I want to buy the new Iphone 5C, but I want to use it here in Portugal. The Verizon iPhone 5 is sold as unlocked. You can buy it full retail and use it anywhere you want. However, you won't get LTE in Europe and you won't be eligible for warranty service unless you take the phone back to the U.S. You won't be able to buy one on a contract unless you can pass a U.S. credit check. The minimum monthly cost would be $59.99 plus tax. I assume that all of this information will be true of of the 5C as well.

I removed my sim-card and BBM is OK. I can use it as it was earlier.
But when I retern the sim-card it stopped working again.

i have had a survellance system put in my business and although it seems to work on the installer's windows laptop with IE, but it doesn't work with Safari for some reason. It just seems to show the quicktime logos spinning where the video of the cameras could be. Why is this?

How well does premiere work with the Canon XH-A1?

I've used premiere for some time now, but the older 6.01/6.5 version. I finally bought a camera based on what folks were saying of the camera, and naively believing "they're all the same when it comes to capture" -- i.e., firewire is firewire, so it's a no brainer.
The camera I bought was the Canon XHA1, and from what I see from a couple of posts, it sounds like Adobe and Canon are far from bed-partners...
I downloaded the trial version /specifically/ to test HD capture with the camera before I spent the big $$$ on the upgrade, but it seems the -one- feature I wanted to actually test has been disabled from the trial, which makes it rather worthless for me.
What I'm curios about is what format the capture takes -- previously, with 6.0 and a DV camcorder, I would capture in "raw" format and the system saved them to disk as .AVI files. With the Canon and a "competitive product", capturing HD creates a multitude of files -- separate audio files, a video file in some obscure format, a "scene" file or index indicating where the cut-points are or should be in the overall video, etc.
Honestly, I prefer the single file format for media, especially if I preview the entire tape and make a batch-capture list -- makes it easy to deal with "archiving" the captured media later on...

I suppose the system is getting to the "obsolete" stage, even though I followed the "ultimate linux box" article for the specs [AMD 3400, nvidia 6800, corsair memory, SATA disks set up as raid, etc.] but now that I think of it, it was probably the "ultimate linux box" for 2004 or so... ;)<br /><br />editing has been a little mushy with the other program, but so far all I've done is simple cuts and fades [oh, and one night hand-correcting the image stabilzation, but that's a story of it's own...] I'm kinda turned off by their "buy the package for $130 now, then pay more to turn on each individual feature you thought you were paid for in the first place..." I don't know if it will get to the point where it meets or exceeds the full CS3 price, but since I qualify for the discounted price of $300, I'll probably get there...<br /><br />But, back to the point -- if "all HD" is the same [separate audio and video files], then I'll deal with it and not worry too much. For the most part I don't care if the video "scrubs" properly, but I *do* care that it RENDERS properly (I can let the system render day and night if I have to) so I'll continue to squeeze a little more out of this "ultimate" system just a little longer [and in two or three years when my regular DVD player dies and "all that's available" is blu-ray, I'll upgrade when the prices are better :) ]

No Amazon does not make a Application to watch their content on Apple TV. I imagine because they are competing with each other in offering video content. To be honest I have both a Apple TV and Roku and I think Roku is much more open simply because they are not really in the content business. They are in the hardware business. Apple on the other hand has both hardware and content. I think they both Apple TV and Amazon offer similar content so I am not sure unless your a Amazon Prime sub that Apple TV cannot provide a good experience. I actually watch some series on Apple TV for the 1080P offerings and use Amazon for some older content that sometimes is cheaper. I have yet to find a one service option that covers everything. In my house we have Apple TV, Roku, Netflix, sometimes Hulu and YouTube. Streaming is still developing and for me I cannot say one service or device is better then another. Another option for Amazon is simply run Amazon content through your PC or Mac on your TV. I do that very frequently and find it a good option.

i regularly use the iPhone 3GS , but carry the my rusty nokia 3110 when roaming abroad ( every 2 weeks ) to , well , avoid paying roaming charges

I also bought a Peltor bluetooth headset. I used it with 2 different phones (n73 and n96) and had problems with the connection on both phones. For example every time I turned off the headset, I had to pair the devices again. I also have used several other bluetooth headsets with absolutey no problems. So I assumed the problem was on the Peltor headset and sent it for service. I hope it will start to work.

MacOpener - does it work with Video iPod?

I'm curious if others have this situation. I had a photo iPod which connected to a Mac. I bought MacOpener V6.05, to use my iPod as an external file storage media. All was well.
I just moved up and to the right, and now only have a video iPod. Things are good until I connect the iPod to my PC. Windows wants to format my iPod drive, and Ephpod wants to build iPod_Control, despite it already existing.
Is anybody else in this situation? The nearest I can gather is that the lack of firewire in the Video iPod is causing me this problem.

I realize your suggestion is a viable alternative, but as you can tell by my tagline, I've put my money where my mouth is, and the only computer I use that runs Windows is my work laptop. I travel, so the laptop happens to be the most often used computer. I don't want to reformat my iPod to accomodate Mr. Gates and his empire of eviiiil. I know I have to either work around this issue or forgo usability, and that's what I plan to do.

There was a issue with school computers being used to spy on kids in their bedrooms, Mac's were involved.
So Apple most likely tightened the API's to only select, trustworthy companies as not to abuse the web cam access priviledge.
If you want to use a web cam with these other programs and services, you'll likely have to buy a third party USB one, so you can manually disconnect it.
There isn't a way to physcially disconnect the built in web cam on Mac's without busting open the machine.

Apple did not begin selling an unlocked version of the iPhone 4S in the US until 11/11/11. I believe it went on sale only through the online store at that time. I'm not sure if it's available at retail yet.
What you purchased was a phone without a contract commitment. It is still locked to AT&T. AT&T will NOT unlock iPhones for any reason. Return it and get your money back, then use that to purchase an unlocked phone.

I don't know since I don't share anything. You'll have to peruse the help files and check the permissions and ACLs on the Shared folder. According to the permissions on the Shared folder everyone can R&W. If you want those to be inherited by everything dropped into the folder, add an ACL for

This cart reader is a kind of multi card reader and you can use different cards with it. In my opinion every multi device should be used very, but very gently. I do not know what happened exactly in your case but maybe you have damaged something inside.
Try to restart your notebook and use other SD card to check if everything works well. Please do it very gently and if you see something is wrong stop with inserting the card.
I use 1 GB SD card on my A200 without any problems.
In my opinion you should check notebook by technician.

If you lose sound for games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.

ITunes 12.1.1 does NOT work with Windows - Fix??

I had issue after issue with the latest iTunes update (12.1.1) not working on my windows 7. It simply would not lunch when clicking on the shortcut to open.
After a fair bit of searching I found this alternative version which seemed to do the trick and now it works:
iTunes 12.1.1.4 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - iTunes64Setup.exe(2015-02-18)

The "for older video cards" installer - which, like most prior "64 bit" versions of iTunes, is actually a 32 bit application with a 64 bit installer - may be a useful fallback if the full 64 bit version does not install or run correctly. Although 12.1.1.4 is a major improvement over 12.1.0.71, there are clearly still some lurking incompatibilities with some 64 bit Windows systems/components. It is, however, a little misleading to say that "iTunes 12.1.1 does NOT work with Windows" - in many cases it works fine without switching to the alternative version. I have the full 64-bit version of 12.1.1.4 running on three systems - two Windows 7 and one Windows 8.1 - no issues with either installation or operation on any of them.
