Does PSE 10 have floating windows

Does PSE10 have floating windows it doen't appear on my drop down menu, I have heard it said that it was wiped out with an Adobe download but is this just a rumour. I have only just installed 10 and have never seen it. I find it hard to mess around with any of the other styles, it takes longer, I have tried dragging the photos up from the project bin but this seems to cause the programme to become a little unstable and I don't feel it's meant to be done this way.

Go to the editor's preferences>general and turn on>Allow floating documents in full edit mode. Then you can go to Window>Images>Float all in Windows.

Which special requirements does QT have on windows?

I am a LiveCode developer on Windows. Playing QT videos, requires QT to be installed. LiveCode has a build in function to check if QT is installed. If QT is not installed I ask the user to install QT first. Usually this works without any problems. But from time to time I have a customer, where after the user has installed QT (yes, as admin, with anti virus off, deinstalled and reinstalled, etc.) my program crashes. This happens on all version from 32Bit XP to 64Bit Win7. It is a very seldom issue, but at these customers it is persistent at every start, so they can't use my program.
Obviosly on these computes any file / requirement for QT is missing / corrupted or any other software / driver causes the conflict. What I am looking for are the (windows) requirements for QT I could check for or I could tell my customers to check for? I don't mean the "official" requirements, but more under the hood. Somebody with a windows "K" version, he tried to reinstall the windows media player without success, but after installing the VLC player suddenly QT didn't crashed anymore and worked like a charm. So obviosly the VLC player installed anything, QT is relying on.
Any hints to look for? any experiences?

Hi,
yes QT is a diva on win7. It's much more complicated than reinstall it. At first I would try to set video to save (gdi mode) in the QT system preferences (extended tab). A wrong setting at this even let the browser crash during QT playback. Second I would check that the needed file extension for your program e.g. .mov is linked to QT. That's what VLC has done to the described win "k" system, not directly but it checks for proper media file linking during installation and repair it if needed. WMP and some other players grap the QT file formats e.g. .mov but can't play some of it because it's only a container and they haven't the appropriate codec to play the content.

I think you may mean the search box on the toolbar. In Safari click on the View menu and select Show Toolbar.
Alternatively, if you mean the 'Home Page' then open Safari -> Preferences -> General and next to 'Homepage' put in the address of the page you want - I'm guessing "http://www.google.com/".

Does anyone have a Windows 8 VPN setup example for the ISA550?

I am trying to deploy ythe ISA 550 with firmware 1.1.17. I am able to geet connected with Windows 7 and the Mobiulityt client. I am trying to get the device configured to allow windows vpn connect to L2TP. All I get is an error 800.

I don't recomend to use the L2TP crap. I promise to you this will die off the next time. Even a lot of SOHO Routers will not longer support this connection so you can be sure it will be done on a short term. I don't use this "connection" since years and I can imagine that Microsoft will also not longer support this connection within Windows 8.
If you are using the AnyConnect Client you can install this on nearly EVERY device or operation systems. At the moment only Windows Mobile Phones are not supported with this client.
Ok, there is a Client within the Market Place but this is not a original CISCO client.
Anyway - here is a little guide which will help you to setup the AnyConnect within less than 10 minutes.

I am getting the following error message when I try to run scripts in PSE11, including the PSE scripts like PhotoMerge. I have tried reseting my preferences, rebooting my mac, rebuilding the db3 file, and reinstalling the action. None have worked. These actions did work before. Does anyone have any experience or advice to offer on this one please? Thanks, Jo

I seem to have fixed this by deleting the preferences. At first holding cmd-opt-shift whilst starting PSE editor was not giving me the delete preferences option, but I found there was a sneaky version of PSE editor running and hiding on my mac, and once I forced it to quit, and restarted the Mac, I was able to use the above way of deleting the preferences.

Try resetting the PSE preferences by
   1. Close Elements.
   2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
   3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
One of the similar threads is found here http://forums.adobe.com/thread/622755 which is for Photoshop but should work for PSE as well.

PSE 11 Organize and Edit AutoPlay does not have PhotoDownloader associated

Since upgrading from PSE 8 to PSE11 the Windows AutoPlay item for "Organize and Edit" does not have an associated program. It shoud be the PSE 11 PhotoDownloader.

"Organize and Edit using Adobe Elements Organizer 11.0" is on the AutoPlay list for Pictures, but the PhotoDownloader program is not associeated with it. Not sure how that happened. Don't know how to change/add a program to that option.

Under Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and Boot Camp, my 27 inch Apple LED Cinema Display checks out as a Generic PnP Monitor and is shown as NOT HDCP compliant. I haven't been able to find any kind of an .inf file to use. Does anyone have a solution?

Open Acrobat. Use the click-path Edit - Preferences - select the Category "Email Accounts". In the dialog there is the "Add Account" drop-down. Select "Add Other". The "Add Webmail Account" dialog presents. You'll fill out the dialog's fields with Outlook.com settings. (don't forget the "Advance Settings" button)
From a look-see on the web it appears that the following are the needed settings. BUT, you'll be wanting to validate.
The Outlook.com SMTP server settings for sending outgoing messages from an email program on desktop, cell phone or mobile device are:

You probably have not seen anyone reporting the exact same problem as you. All three crash reports have the same crash signature and as currently ranked 67 it is not the commonest of reasons for a crash.
I hope you enter your email contact information when reporting crashes. I note you see this crash when using videos, others may possibly see this crash in other circumstances.
You have already tried the obvious, attempts at a fix so it is now down to wait and see, maybe developers working on the bug will report something or fix it.
Did you try my suggestion of installing portable ESR ?

Hello, I have windows 7, Im getting msvcr80.dll error 7(windows error 126) when I tried to update my itunes. Now it won't open. Does anyone have a remedy? And when I try to uninstall it says that the file cant be found.

Same problem today. Took five times to reinstall without any error messages. I did the following:
1) Went to the C:\program files (x86)\iTunes and C:\program files\iTunes folders and moved every file ending in .dll to the desktop (even if two files in same location had the same name, just replaced)
2) Restarted computer and still got error message
3) Uninstalled all apple programs possible in the following order......itunes, apples software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, and apple application support.....all performed using the microsoft control panel
4) put all the .dll files on the desktop in the trash and emptied (this is a step apple support did not recomment in their posted solutions but for a final try I wanted to delete everything apple).
5) Restarted computer.
6) Re-installed itunes from apple website
No error messages during re-install and was able to open shortcut in one try.

If you never bought the product then you cannot get the serial number.

HT1399 I have a windows pc. It has windows 8 installed and I've installed the newest version of itunes but when I try to play anything, it won't. There's no sound and it says it's playing but it does not. What can I do?

It sounds like there is an issue burning CD's in iTunes. Is the playback issue only occurring on a specific device and does the disc show up correctly in iTunes? The tools are not responding when I try to use them. Some of them work sometimes, but not others and some don't work at all. I'm in a design class online and I need these tools desperately. I have an assignment due Monday and I'm losing the whole weekend because Tech Support is only open M-F!
