Does QT Pro allow webcam and separate audio inputs?

I've got a Logitech C910 camera (supposed to be Mac compatible) and a Fast Track Pro USB audio interface. iMovie is not the solution, so I'm hoping I could use QT Pro to create the video, then open it in iMovie '11.

Hi Waldolat
Just tried it works fine for me .
I use the original apple firewire camera.
Cheers Tomi

Yet to try the extra audio inputs.
Will let you know.

How do I record a video on my macBook Pro's webcam and upload it to YouTube?
    Many thanks.

Your posted info shows you are using Mac OS X (10.5.8). With this Mac OS, you can use iMovie, Photo Booth, or optional QuickTime 7 Pro to record and save a QuickTime video.  (Be sure to save in a YouTube Supported file format.)
Then follow the YouTube Help instructions for How to upload your saved videos.

AFAIK cameras offer their own built-in format utility for inserted SD cards.  You should use that.  Otherwise, refer to the manual that came with your camera to determine precisely how your SD cards need to be formatted to work properly.  Personally, I'd suggest Partition Scheme: MBR, and Filesystem: FAT32.
Try to limit the number of formats you perform on the SD cards, though, as you're reducing their lifespan.  I believe formatting causes re-writes to a portion of the SD card that has fewer read/write cycles than the rest of the card as a whole.

  • Why does Premiere Pro blue-screen if Windows Audio Service is enabled?

Since I enabled ASIO in Premiere Pro, I have to remember to disable the Windows Audio Service before starting Premiere Pro, or else it will blue-screen at some point, usually after I pause playback of a video clip.  It only happens in ASIO audio mode, and completely goes away if I disable Windows Audio.  Something is interacting badly between the Premiere Pro ASIO driver and the Windows Audio service.  The error message has something to do with USB host or something like that...I don't have it in front of me right now.
I tried to create a batch file to disable the service, then run Premiere Pro with "start /wait", then re-enable it when premiere is closed, but Premiere Pro cannot be run by that command, unlike every other executable I've ever used it on.  It just doesn't come up.  So I tried with a Powershell script instead, and when doing the equivalent in Powershell, Premiere Pro starts, but the window is blank and hangs forever until you kill it by clicking the X.  I would be fine with a scripting workaround, but Premiere Pro is really really really resistant to that apparently, so my only option is to remember to disable it manually EVERY SINGLE TIME.  It's just annoying when I forget to disable it and then I lose work, and probably hard drive clusters, when the blue-screen comes.  And if I want to export something to another program in the suite that doesn't use ASIO, I won't be able to play audio without closing Premiere and fiddling with the service.
Here are the specs that might be relevant:
    -Windows 7 x64
-M-Audio FastTrack Pro sound card (usb) [latest drivers]
    -12 GB RAM
    -Intel core i7
-gtx 460 video card with the ini file CUDA hack

I'll make sure to do that.  But in case the bug takes a long time to fix or gets pointed to M-Audio, who will most likely not ever fix it if it's in their stuff, does anybody know how I can get the batch file and/or powershell solution to work?  I don't really get why Premiere Pro would know or care who launched it as long as it launched in its own process.

  • Why does my footage Slow down and loose audio when imported to after effects cs6?

Whenever I import video of any kind into after effects, it slows down and looses audio. It happens for every video. The weird thing is, it seems like it doesnt happen to anyone else on the internet. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME PLEASE!!!! I am about to cry. I cant do anything with this stupid software! If there is a solution please tell me. Its really annoying.
    extra info-
    On Mac
    mov. Files
    H.264 codec

Slows down when? When you preview? Do you know how to preview?
If you are pressing the space bar to preview the video then the behavior you are seeing is normal. AE will not playback in real time with autio unless you do a ram preview (look it up). You must learn to use the software.

  • Possible to capture with separate audio input?

I'd like to move from using a tricaster to capturing live audio and video directly into premiere. I understand how to capture video, but my question is about using a different audio input for the video, rather than camera audio. i have a microphone connected to the computer through a USB XLR adapter box, and that's the mic i'd like to use for the video i'm capturing. is there any way to do this with premiere, or will i have to record that audio track separately, then bring it into premiere, sync it, etc? it would be great to be able to do this all at once.

Signal for A/V capture comes into Premiere via IEEE 1394 (Firewire),
and the audio and video are already combined.
You might be able to find a way to use the inputs on your deck or
camera for connecting your mic, and send that audio via Firewire
to Premiere along with the video, but that would be a function
    of your deck... not Premiere.
...will i have to record that audio track separately, then bring it into premiere, sync it, etc? it would be great to be able to do this all at once.
Yeah... it's not the end of the world (it's a standard practice) but,

  • Does Logic Pro X work with M-Audio ProjectMix?

Has anybody tested the M-Audio ProjectMix with LPX? I know that it could work with mountain lion, even without new drivers. But does it Work with Logic Pro X?

I originally just upgraded from LION and the drivers loaded fine... once I started to use LPX, I realized I had way too many plugins and other apps on my Mac that I had acumulated over the years and I wanted to have a simpler, cleaner set-up, so I actually reformated my hard drive and re-installed everything from fresh. I haven't run into any bugs so far... make sure you have 10.8.4 running and the latest M-Audio Firewire Drivers and you should be OK.
I also use a few other DAWs that I purchaesd while Logic was languishing but I took them all off (other then StudioOne which I use if I need a 32bit environment) so I can be dedicated to just LPX.
I figured out the input monitoring issue, there's a new button in the preferences that selects just monitoring on focused tracks... turn that off if you are recording multiple instruments.
Lastly, if you do have some old 32bit plugins, and you have them in VST format (not AU), you can use a combination of JBridgeM and DDMF Metaplugin to run 32bit VSTs in LPX... it works very well. I have a Focusrite LiquidMix 32 unit that I thought I would have to let go but it works fine using this bridging set-up.

  • MacBook Pro freezes randomly and stops audio then continues in a few seconds sometimes minutes.

My Mac has been acting up for the past 2 days. It freezes at random times and cuts off audio as well. I've repaired disk permissions and that kind of seem to help a bit in term of how often the problem happens. Still freezes at random times. I know Chrome is notorious for causing problems with Macs. If anyone has any help as to what I may do to fix this, I'd appreciate the help. And if I should just remove chrome all once and for all.

Do you have a lot of applications open?  Try quitting applications that you are not actively using. Run without Chrome for a bit to see if the problem is directly tied to Chrome.

Yes, The Norton Toolbar does support Firefox 11 ([http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Firefox-11-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/679053 http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Firefox-11-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/679053]). Unfortunately, the Google Toolbar was discontinued by Google, so upon upgrading, it may or may not work. [http://googletoolbarhelp.blogspot.com/2011/07/update-on-google-toolbar-for-firefox.html http://googletoolbarhelp.blogspot.com/2011/07/update-on-google-toolbar-for-firefox.html].
You can however read [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/google-toolbar-not-compatible-firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/google-toolbar-not-compatible-firefox], which offers several alternatives to the Google toolbar so then you don't have to continue running an insecure version of Firefox for one extension.

  • IOS 6.1.2 STILL does not fix massively distorted and compressed audio from videos

I bought an iPad to show prospective clients my video and audio recording services.
Ever since changing to iOS 6 the audio from all the videos that I have put on the iPad are completely
distorted and overly comressed. The slightest bass note and everything is garbled beyond belief.
The same videos on my iPhone 4 sound wonderful as they should, but the same videos on the iPad
are completely wasted. Playing the sound through the built in speaker of the iPad proves good, but
the headphone output is horrible. Audio from other sources is clean and undistorted.
I spoke to Apple Care about six times, and two different Senior Advisors neither of which did anything for me.
I had the local Apple store replace the iPad but that made no difference.
I now have two iPads and they both have the same exact issue.
It's just pathetic that Apple has not addressed this.
    Dan

Addressed an issue that only you seem to be having?
Apple offers great service but not this personalized.
I have never had this issue and I transfer or watch a lot of video to my iPad.

  • Change (and list) audio input device

hi there, is there a way to programatically change the microphone being used by the audioPublisher?
i mean the audioPublisher has the selectedMic property which according to your API is read-write
    selectedMic
    property
    selectedMic:Microphone  [read-write]
    Returns the currently selected microphone.
    Implementation
        public function get selectedMic():Microphone
        public function set selectedMic(value:Microphone):void
but the problem is how can i select a mic in flash (programatically), if i need to pass a Microphone object to the selectedMic property, then that means that i have to do somthing like Microphone.getIndex(something), but then again how can i know the index of each microphone?
Actually i have even tried changing the selected microphone in the flash settings but whenever i get audioPublisher.selectedMic.name, its always "USB Audio Device" so it really doesn't seem to change or i'm just not getting it or doesn't know how to get it.
i'm really relatively new to flash and it also seems that there is no real way to list and select the active mic, i mean you can list it down using the Microphone.names array list, but how can i get their corresponding index? is it just zero-based then just increment by one for each item in the microphone.names array?

    Raff. wrote:
I am not really sure I understand your last question.
Microphone.names returns an array of names (in a fixed order, I think) so if put them in a listbox and then select an entry you can get the index and call Microphone.getMicrophone(index).
If you are worried that the user may disconnect one audio source between listing the names and picking one, you can check that the name of the selected Microphone is the same as the name you are expecting.
this works great, i can actually set the MicrophoneManager's selectedMic property using that combo box, i was just thinking why flash's global settings mic dialog doesn't really do anything (or perhaps it was designed for something else, i don't know).
But then again, thank you for this answer, but just a couple of new questions....
    1. audioPublisher's microphone property only changes each time you call audioPublisher.publish right? (that's what i see on my testing - and it gets its value from the MicrophoneManager.selectedMic proprty). I mean even if you change the MicrophoneManager.selectedMic property while you are publishing, it will not change the audioPublisher.microphone property, is this correct?
    2. it is really by default that you will not be able to hear what you are publishing? using the audioSubscriber? i mean i just added "<rtc:AudioSubscriber id="audioSub" height="0" />" on my code and i'm able to hear other persons who are connected in the room, but is there any way that you may be able to subscribe to your own audio stream?

  • AA3 and no audio input

Just download the trial version of AA3. I can not get any input audio to record. Tried using the built in mic on a laptop and also the mic input with a tape walkman. I am using a lenovo thinkpad.
I downloaded Audacity and it works fine with everything as well as Windows recorder.
The inputs seem to point to the right place and the outputs point to master and then to the hardware.
If i import a file I can play it fine and here it.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    hi john,
great to see you! since i'm a total noob when it comes to macs, where can i find the utilities folder?
    John Alcock wrote:
Is your Saffire recognized by Audio/MIDI set up (in your Utilities folder)?
another strange thing is, i can't access saffirecontrol le's preferences, since it's grayed out. i already uninstalled and reinstalled the software and updated the saffire le driver. the problem still exists.
i remember that this problem occurred, since i tried out soundflower and other recording software such as, "butt", audio hijack demo, etc. i already uninstalled all of those.
I think that the solution will be found related to this. There may be some parts of one of them left over which are interfering with Saffire being recognized by the Mac, as it doesn't work in GB either. I hate to suggest this, but you may be looking at an 'archive & install' of your OS, unless you can track down what your use of those other installations affected.
i'm also thinking that the problem might be related to that. i have tried so many broadcast and recording applications a few months ago, i can't even remember which ones they were.
i'm still hoping that the problem is caused by something simple, like perhaps something i activated accidentally. well since the snow leopard is on it's way here, it might be a good idea to reinstall of my os, though i have no clue how to do that on a mac lol!

  • I downloaded mountain lion and my audio does not work

I Downloaded mountain lion and my audio input does not work. I am tryig to use it with Articulate.
I rebooted twice, I ahve taken out the external mic
I have looked in Utilities and see if the setting are muted but all ok
I have looked in Activity monitor
    Please help
    Brett

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried.
    1. If anything is plugged into the audio-out (headphone) port, unplug it.
    2. From the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences ▹ Sound ▹ Output
Check the settings. The internal speakers should be selected as the output device, the Mute box should not be checked, and the volume slider should be at least halfway to the right.
    3. You may need to darken the room for this step. Look inside the headphone port. If a red light is coming from the port, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a headphone mini-stereo jack of the proper size. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by your warranty.
    4. Boot in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime. It will take much longer than usual. You don't have to log in; just reboot as usual (without holding any keys) when the login screen appears. (Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.)
    5. Reset the NVRAM.
    6. Reset the SMC.
    7. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to bare metal from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • Logic Pro system overloaded and MIDI clock problems with Intel

    Hi
I'm not a super-powerful-rich music producer. I have owned an iMac G5 1GB of RAM for tree years with a lot of problems with the memory, but i could achieve a quite good knowledge of Logic Pro 7.1.1. The thing is that with my new iMac that has a larger memory i'm not able to playback old songs, and it sounds strabge to me because the Intel iMac would have to work better than the older....I think....(the file i'm talking about has got 5 tracks, 4 freezed and one not: it sounds really strange even if I haven't 5 GB of memory!!!)
Moreover I've had other new problems with MIDI sync but i've never used other MIDI clocks sources even if I use a M-Audio pro 88 keyboard and an audio interface ESI Quatafire 610. I know that i haven't got a great instrumentation in my hands, but this doesn't mean that it doesn't have to work.
Do I need Logic 7.2? Do I need to change my audio interface?
Do I need to set up logic in a way that with iMac G5 hadn't be necessary?
I'm waiting for an answer from someone who's more capable.
    Thank you.

    Do I need Logic 7.2?
absolutely definitely, you need a minimum of logic 7.2. it is the first version that is intel-native. your problems are 100% because the code you are trying to run has to be emulated first in order to be interpreted by the intel chip in your imac. this means that logic will run like a sick dog, until you give it a version that is actually compatible with your machine.
