Does restoring the iPhone reset the call time usage?
Mine seems to have done, and now I find it hard to know how much time I have used. One other thing, will this automatically reset at the start of a new contract month when your minutes gets renewed? Thanks

Just one month before i bought iphone 5... but the iphone has the internet connectivity problem... while a iphone 4s is cathcing 3G tower, whereas iphone 5 is catching 2G network only.... I've tried so many things to get recovered, but alas, nothing is workable- such as- restaring the iphone, reseting the networks etc... Please help me out from this problem..
to be clear, my phone works fine when not in motion in a vehicle. If I pull over and come to a complete stop, remaining in the car, my phone works.
And while the phone is not working when I'm in motion, an internet search or a text message will go through, but I can not use Siri or any voice assistance when doing the text message or internet search. The microphone is greyed out.
So this is a unique issue, which appears to be the iPhone and not Verizon. -

You can't get it reset; if you could there would be no point in having it. If you have an encrypted backup there are two ways this could have happened:
You checked "Encrypt Backup" in iTunes at some time in the past, either intentionally or by accident
You have a corporate MS Exchange account and your Exchange administrator installed a security profile on your phone that requires the phone'a contents to be encrypted. This, in turn, requires the backup to be encrypted for obvious reasons.
In either case you were prompted for a password the first time you backed up after whichever of these happened. So think about what you might have entered for a password at that time. Fortunately you get an unlimited number of tries. Other threads on this subject have shown that it is always a password known to the user, so it wasn't something made up by iTunes. Also, everyone who has figured it out has found it to be a different password type, so try your Apple ID password, your computer's login password, your WiFi password, your corporate domain password, etc. And try passwords that may have been changed since your first backup. There are also some scam password crackers available that don't actually work and possibly steal your information. It's likely that a developer of one or more of these will post a response with a link (possibly hidden) to their "product". Hello everyone, I am trying to restore my iPhone 4s and every time I try restoring it, it always goes to about 75% of the process then it says the iphone could not restore because of error 1. This is not error -1 it is error 1. I reserached this error and it said to make sure I have the latest version of iTunes, i do, To make sure i have a security software updated, i do, and ive done everything it tells me to do yet it wont let me restore my iphone. Before I tried restoring it, it was working perfectly fine besides the battery which i have just replaced yesterday. Ive tried restoring it in two different computers with two different cables but still no luck. I found this phone at a park and it was working perfectly fine until i tried restoring it. I have no idea what to do now. I appreciate your guyses help!
This error generally indicates a hardware failure. Bring the phone to Apple for evaluation.

While doing a sync, I received a phone call. Since then I get a message during sync "Itunes could not sync contacts to the iphone because the sync server faile to sync the iphone". What to do?

Why? It doesn't change the fact that they are not answering my call. If they want to let me know why, they will.
It used to be the case that my carrier would put a beep at the end of the ring tone if the person you were calling was on another call. But they stopped it ages ago. -

Does the iPhone have a sleep timer like the iPod touch?
Just want to know if the iphone has the same kind of sleep timer as the ipod touch. Will be getting the iphone as soon as I can upgrade and need the sleep timer. I use it all the time on the ipod touch.

No joy, repeated the restore attempts countless times - lost all my data
Tried again with a simulated test.
Created a new itunes account on a new PC (64-bit windows 7), latest itunes(10.6.1.7- 64 bit).
As my data is toast, I'm using the ios 5.1 phone to try to see if it was me or an apple bug, or something elsewhich caused this to happen.
After quite a few more hours at it, it looks like a bug in iTunes / ios. I would be very happy to be wrong, though.
Tried repeatedly restoring an ios 4.3 backup to 5.1 - no joy.
Happy to try again - it does restore partially (got the call register transferred, but no SMS'es or anything else).
Any ideas? -

I have an iphone 5s and updated it to the new 7.1 software. A day later I go and use my phone and in the top left hand corner it says no service. i have tried restoring the pone, resetting the network settings and also a hard reset as well. It gains service for a short amount of time but then it loses service. Everyone else on my plan has service and their phones are completely normal but they never did the update... what can i do to fix this problem?
Backup and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file, or maybe it's one of your apps causing the trouble. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.

How can I ync iPhone 3Gs with my Windows 7 PC, when iTunes does not launch when I connect the iPhone to my computer? Note: My computer crashed and I am reinstalling everything.
Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your phone. Only if you back up your phone manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your device without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPhone for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in iTunes and transferred your purchases.

I attempted to upgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1.1. I selected 'back up' from the phone in the device menu and iTunes confirmed that the phone had been backed up. I then installed iOS 5.1.1 which wiped everything on the phone & now I am getting the error "iTunes could not restore the iPhone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone that is being restored".
I have tried restoring factory settings but iTunes simply will not restore from back up & I'm not sure what else to do!
Any advice would be much appreciated.I have the same issue and I KNOW my backup IS good. What happen is when you try to restore your phone apple says something like can I check for new updates and if you choose no, it just takes you back to the restore screen and a loop from then on. If you dont update from you phone then when you back up you will have the 5.0.1 back up and then when you update to 5.1.1 and then try to restore the backup from 5.0.1 it say it EITHER corrupt or incompatible.. It is incompatible and its hard as **** to restore back to 5.0.1. I followed the restore to a T and still getting errors. I lost all text history and have to reset up email. All just because I wanted a 1.2 Gigs of "other" space back.

My iphone 4s is no longer detecting wifi since the IOS8 updates came out. I've restarted, rest the networks, reset the phone back to factory settings, and even tried the freezer trick. It is STILL not detecting ANY wifi networks. HELP!!! I cannot afford to go over my data and I use wifi at home and work... I believe the updates have caused the issue, because it was working fine before the second update released (I hadn't put the first one one until I noticed it had stopped working, and by then the second IOS8 version had came out). They need to do a third update to fix this issue.
If it's grayed out:
Reset Network Settings - if that doesn't fix it, then Backup and Restore AS A NEW DEVICE.
If it's still grayed out, unfortunately that means your Wi-Fi antenna quit, and it needs service. -

This iphone was on a developper account but it is not anymore (removed from developper account).
