Does SAN-OS support CDP neighbors?

If yes, on the SAN-OS is this feature turned on by default as well?

SAN-OS does support CDP neighbors on the management ports as well as the Gigabit Ethernet ports. Not sure if it is enabled by defualt or not, thinking it is.

  • Ap 3700 PoE with PSE that does not support CDP/LLDP power Negotiation

We run into a problem when AP 3700 is connected to an 802.3at PSE
that only supports physical event classification as compliant to 802.3at standard for PSE,
but does not support CDP/LLDP power negotiation.
AP 3700 (I believe the firmware version does not matter much) cannot get enough power after not receiving any CDP/LLDP power negotiation packet. (get no more than 15W power although PSE supports 30W.)

    Hi Leo,
Thanks for the information, and do you know if Phihong power injector supports 802.3at LLDP power negotiation or not?
And is there any special configuration on AP3700 side like disabling CDP/LLDP power negotiation to make it to work with such power injector,  and what is the command if there is any?
    Thanks again, Leo.

  • CDP Neighbor Device ID mystery

I have several IOS based switches that when I issue the "show cdp nei detail" command I get a Device ID that includes the domain name of the device. I can't for the life of me get rid of the domain name (I don't want it to show). I've removed all references to any domain name from the switch config yet it still shows. Any idea how the domain name is being attached to the Device ID name when doing a show cdp neig?

I'm not running any VTP services (Only transparrent). Also my VTP domain is not the same as my DNS domain and what's showing in the Device ID is the DNS domain name. e.g.:
Router6509#sh cdp neighbors gigabitEthernet 1/22 detail
    Device ID: cat4506ios.tch.harvard.edu
    Entry address(es):
    IP address: 10.64.0.212

Interface: GigabitEthernet1/22, Port ID (outgoing port): GigabitEthernet1/2

  • Neighbor IP Address is missing in "show cdp neighbor detail"

    Hi Sir,
Two switches, SwitchA and SwitchB, are connected to eath other via a VLAN trunk.
SwitchA is a Catalyst 3508G-XL. SwitchB is a Catalyst 2948. Both running Cisco IOS software.
The VLAN trunk is established using "on" mode because the switches have different VTP domains. Both are VTP transparent mode. Both ends of the trunk pass all VLANs and having the same dot1q Native VLAN.
Both switches are on the same management VLAN. They can ping each other's management IP address.
The issue is, when doing "show cdp neighbor detail" on SwitchA, the IP address of SwitchB is not shown. When doing "show cdp neighbor detail" on SwitchB, the IP address of SwitchA can be seen. What could be the cause?
    Please help.
    Thank you.
    B.Rgds,
    Lim TS

Sorry. It should be the other way round, as follows:
When doing "show cdp neighbor detail" on SwitchA (C3508G-XL), the IP address of SwitchB can be seen. When doing "show cdp neighbor detail" on SwitchB (C2948), the IP address of SwitchA is not shown.
    Thank you.

  • Suppress output in show CDp neighbors

Anyone have a hack that might supress the .xxxxxx.net piece of the device id in show cdp neighbors ?
it would make some reporting we are trying to do just a bit easier
    thanks

Since you asked for a hack, you could:
Ensure you've generated your SSH RSA keys
Remove the "ip domain name xxxxxxx.net" command
    Now it's gone from CDP
If you ever need to generate a new SSH key you'll have to add the domain-name back in.
Alternately, depending on how you're doing your reporting, use EEM or the WSMA API to extract just the data you need.

  • How many luns does mac OSX support from a single target (array) is it 255??

How many luns does mac OSX support from a single target (array) is it 255?
For example, if using the Dual-channel 4Gb Fibre Channel PCI Express card?  Is it 255, 512 or higher?  I know it uses the ATTO driver, but I can't find any documentaiton about the upper limits of how many luns this HBA can address from a single target array on a SAN.  Thanks.

    Hi,
The card should be an ATTO 42ES whcih supports 255 LUNS per channel
Here's the info from the attached link
Consider the following Celerity FC host adapter guidelines:
    • ATTO 4-Gb and 8-Gb FC cards (PCI-X and PCIe only) are supported. • Latest HP-specific ATTO Celerity FC host adapter driver • Latest HP-specific ATTO Configuration Tool • A maximum of 256 targets per host adapter channel are supported. • A maximum of 255 logical unit numbers (LUNs) per host adapter channel are supported. • PowerPC- and Intel-based servers are supported.

  • N5K EEM script to shutdown interface if CDP neighbor drops

    Hi
Total n00b on EEM here. Background - we have an inline transparent L2 firewall sitting between our Nexus core switch and our UCS. If the physical interfaces on one of the firewalls go down, our UCS virtual hosts can detect that and will automatically fail over to their other NIC and network connectivity is restored. However if theres a software or process problem on the firewall we can lose connectivity to half of the UCS because all the links are physically staying up but the server traffic is getting blackholed.
If the L2 firewall stops passing traffic we will lose the CDP neighbor entry for the UCS on the N5K. If that happens I want to shut down the port channel interface that connects the Nexus to the firewall, triggering the virtual hosts to fail over to their second NIC.
    Basically
    1)     Check for presence of CDP neighbor on e1/17
    2)     If there is an entry there do nothing
    3)     If there is no entry there then issue the following cli commands "conf t, interface port-channel 17, shutdown"
I would like the switch to execute the script once per minute all day every day.
NEXUS-SW1# sh cdp ne int e1/17
    Capability Codes: R - Router, T - Trans-Bridge, B - Source-Route-Bridge
                      S - Switch, H - Host, I - IGMP, r - Repeater,
                      V - VoIP-Phone, D - Remotely-Managed-Device,
                      s - Supports-STP-Dispute
Device-ID             Local Intrfce Hldtme Capability  Platform      Port ID
    UCS-FABRIC-A(SSI171402MC)
                        Eth1/17        173    S I s     UCS-FI-6248UP Eth1/17
    NEXUS-SW1#
Could anyone give me a hand on a script to do this please? Looks like there is EEM neighbor discovery stuff in IOS but not NX-OS on the 5K, so I think this script will have to use the CLI to detect failure. Thanks

I'm running the latest 6.0(2)N2(1) NX-OS on the 5548 with the Layer 3 daughtercard and LAN Enterprise Services license. There is some EEM stuff in the CLI but it appears basic compared to what is in IOS.
    NEXUS-SW1(config-applet)# event ?
cli             Create a cli event specification
      counter         Create a counter event
      fanabsent       Create fanabsent event specification
      fanbad          Create fanbad event specification
      oir             Create Online-Insertion-Removal event specification
policy-default  Use the event in the system policy being overridden
snmp            Create a 'snmp' event specification.
storm-control   Create a storm control event specification
syslog          Create a syslog event specification
      sysmgr          System manager related events
      temperature     Create temperature event specification
track           Create a 'track' event specification
    NEXUXS-SW1(config-applet)# event cli ?
match  Enter cli regex to be used for matching
      tag    Event tag identifier
I was hoping I could use the "event cli match" or something like that to detect the loss of the cdp neighbor. And then shut down the interface if it is not there.

  • Does a Router support 2 BGP As in one router

Does a Router support 2 BGP As in one router. I have gone through the below Cisco page, however my router is not allowing to enter the second AS in the router, it is giving the error as usual " BGP is already running; AS is XX" .
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios/12_2s/feature/guide/fsbgpdas.html#wp1056689
    My Router :- Cisco 3845
    IOS Version :- c3845-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T8.bin

    Hi,
You can not run multiple BGP processes on a single router with each of them being in a separate AS. What you can do, and the link in your post explains that, is that towards a particular eBGP neighbor, you can use the neighbor local-as command to appear to be in a different AS than the one you really are in. So you do not start two BGP processes, you just make your single BGP process to appear to use a different ASN on a particular eBGP peering.

  • Access Points do not show in CDP neighbor

    Hi All,
Last night I was performing mainteance on access points throughout the network. I was converting them from Local to H-REAP to allow for vlan support. The maintenance went well however afterwards I've noticed access points are not showing up in CDP neighbor and with a "show power inline" the access points shows as a IEEE PD. This is causing some weird issues where a client can connect but then will lose it's DHCP address. The problem happened on 9 of the 12 floors that I did this on and there is no configuration differences and bouncing the access points did not resolve the issue. The access points do show a blue light.
Has anyone ever experienced this before? If so what did you do to fix it?
    I have a mix of 1131 and 1142N access points on a 4402 WLC running version 6.0.188.0.
    Thank you,
    Chris Pratt

The maintenance went well however afterwards I've noticed access points are not showing up in CDP neighbor and with a "show power inline" the access points shows as a IEEE PD.
    I see all the time.
"sh cdp neigh" shows nothing and "sh power inline" shows the port connected to the WAP as "IEEE".  This is mostly caused by faulty cabling.  If you have the right Cisco switch, you can test the cable using the in-built TDR feature.
    Here's how you do it:
    1.  Command:  test cable tdr interface
    2.  Wait for about 5 to 7 seconds;
    3.  Command:  sh cable tdr interface
    4.  Please post the complete output.

ata 133 is just a marketing gimick.............only data moves that fast is 2mb in the drives cache
the drive will run at about half that speed once the cache is cleared
    dont worry about it
    Er, I got another question
I'm now looking at this hitachi model:
    http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.asp?id=210&pc=dealtime#
which has good reviews (probably for others in the range). I originally saw it on ebay but it turns out to be cheaper buying it from the above supplier.
The question I have is does the MS 6382 support serial ATA? I'm reasonably sure that the above drive is parallel ATA (ie compatable with the MS 6382) because of the manufacturer's info here:
    http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/d7k250/d7k250.htm
but I thought I'ld ask before I order it or in case I change my mind (again).
    Thankyou for your help

  • Does lion server support a single email address across multiple devices??

I am looking to move from an outdated Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 to OS X Lion Server but I am unsure as to how Lion will handle email. I do not want to spend money on a new windows server if I can get a Mac Mini Server to do the job. I am a very small business with a number of email accounts for a couple employees and need access to email and calendar from both the office iMac's and my Macbook Pro when on the road. My IT guy says I need Exchange but he's been off base on a few other items recently and I wanted to check with other sources.
I have 2 new iMac's, a MacBook Pro, an iPad1 and and iPhone4 on the mac side of things and 2 windows computers running XP. I would get rid of the windows computers completely if not for my CAD program which runs best not in a virtual machine mode.
How well will email and calendar entries sync across devices?

I have a very similar setup at my office. Lion Server will push email, calandar, contacts to all of your apple product with out a hitch.
As far the Windows XP machines, you can access email over IMAP with Thunderbird, and calandars via sunbird or the built in web app.
I would ditch the exchange server move to Mac OS X Server, and never look back.
    God Luck!
PS. All of your devices will be in sync all the time.
    Shore answer:
Does lion server support a single email address across multiple devices??
    Yes.

    Hi,
yes, it does. Here is a Screenshot from the CR2011 SPS6 Data Access File
    The (4) indicates:
    (4) SAP servers required to have at least the above patch levels. The following correction notes should be applied to your SAP BW / SAP NetWeaver BI system: 1125433, 1161911, 1162349, 1162416, 1170323, 1230303 and 1007048. OSS Correction Note 1007048 requires a manual configuration step.

  • Camera RAW does NOT yet support raw files for the new  Canon Sureshot S95

Camera RAW does NOT yet support raw files for the new
    Canon Sureshot S95.
Adobe, please can you provide an update asap

    Hello!
I think that you need to be patient.
There has not been any release of Camera Raw since the release of the camera.
I recommend to try the next version once it will be released, as there might be preliminary support (and therefore not listed).
Usually, Adobe is amongs the firsts to support a new camera.
Even though the Camera Raw team is fielded with wonderful coders, I do not think that they do have a time machine to allow support before they have their hands on a camera

OK, as always I waited before downloading a new OS and I'm sure glad I did. On the APP store I sorted comments by most critical...and WHOA...what is Apple doing? No support for Logic 9, MS Office? Is Apple only trying to reach the iphone/iTouch crowd? HELP! I was going to buy a new Mac pro & two 27" monitors but until I see some real problem addressing by Apple...I'll keep what I have and see how everything pans out. If anyone has any comments to ally my fears, I welcome them. I've been a devoted Mac user since 1993. 7500; G4; G5; and my latest Mac Pro...Where do I go? Again...HELP!

    Hi there,
If you look through ALL the reviews, they are mainly good. I feel that Lion is an excellent upgrade, although not essential.
There have been some issues with MS Office, but right now, it is up to Microsoft to issue a Lion compatible update, which will come in time. Saying this, MS Office has been working fine on my mac, it seems to be an isolated issue.
Logic 9 seems like a strange issue. Again, an update looks to be coming soon, with Lion support.
I do not feel that apple only focusing on the iPhone and iPad user base. There are many features carried along, but the machine can still be used for pro tools and use just as well. It still is a fantastic, reliable, fast, easy to use OS, which I have had very few problems with. Some additions you may not use, but they don't get in the way. You will love the new Exposé, Mission Control, as it is great for pro users who have many windows open at once, and the new spaces. You may however, never use Launchpad, but you don't have to, just drag it away from the dock!
I really reccomend buying a mac with Lion, although if you are worried about bugs, wait a few months for the issues to be ironed out, and updates to be given. Because the update is so very cheap, I really think you can hardly go wrong. Try it out with your current mac, and if you like it, go ahead and buy your new ones.
Lion is fantastic, albeit maybe rushed.
    Any other queries, just ask,
    Nathan
