Does Satellite A60-672 has internal memory that is unremovable

Nebie here with what is probably a daft question.
I bought 1GB DDR Ram to upgrade the above notebook (currently has a very limited 256MB RAM) and removed the memory access slot on the base and then.......confusion.
Does this model have internal memory that is unremovable?
There is a black sticker over the memory, the usual levers to release the memory are blocked in by other areas of the motherboard which makes me suspect there's another angle on this.
If so where is the actual expansion slot?
Sorry if this sounds a bit thick!
Hope you can help.

>Does this model have internal memory that is not removable?
Yes, the Satellite A60 supports an 256MB of internal memory and this memory can not be removed. Therefore there is only ONE memory slot which is upgradeable.
So you will be able to upgrade the memory only to 1280MB

  • Problems with grahic card on my Satellite A60-672

I have a Satellite A60-672 which has graphics by ATI. On a number of occasions on start up it has crashed and the online crash system says everytime that it is ATI technologies. I have emailed ATI and they said it is nothing to do with them.
I have tried to email toshiba but none of the address work. The crash system tells me to uninstall the software but seeing as I didnt put it on, i am wary about doing this as it might muck up the operation of my laptop.
Currently my laptop works fine with this continuous problem. Has this happened to anyone else or does any one know how to contact toshiba.
    Thanks

    Hi,
here is a url where you could choose your country. Then you have to choose PC systems, after a new site is shown and there is on the left side a telephone number from the Toshiba infoline. They could say you the country specific number for the Toshiba Support hotline!

  • Does importing use computer's internal memory?

I'm having an issue with Lightroom when I import pictures.  When I import them into Lightroom from an SD card it is using my computers internal memory, is this supposed to happen?  After I edit the pictures and export them as the new pictures, I remove them from Lightroom but any internal memory that was taken up by the importing process is not put back.  Anyone have any suggestion on this?

Something else that you need to understand. When you import images into Lightroom, Lightroom doesn't engulf them and store them in some mysterious place that is in addition to where your images are located on your hard drive. The import process allows you to tell Lightroom where to put new images imported from a card. Then, when importing, the images are placed in that folder and Lightroom simply points to that folder. When you import images that are already on your computer, Lightroom just creates a pointer to where they are located. There is no additional copy made.
As you work on your images in Lightroom the adjustments are stored in the catalog. When you display an image in Lightroom that you have worked on previously Lightroom reads the catalog and applies the adjustments that you have made to that image. Consequently you see the "corrected" results. If you decide to remove images from the catalog then Lightroom forgets all about the image and any adjustments you have made. You are left with the original image, in its original state. And if you want a corrected copy again then you have to start all over.

  • Satellite A60 - sound has stopped working

Satellite A60 - sound has stopped working. Downloaded new sound driver from toshiba web site - clicked on sound update icon and it worked, but disappeared every time I restarted.
Clicked on installshield icon, and install starts, but then has an error message saying 0x80040303, unknown error, setup terminates - this happens every time.
Tried to download other updates, but it says I didn't register my laptop, which I'm sure I did, and won't let me do it again because it's more than 6 months old.
    Help!!

    Hello
Try to roll back the operating system to an earlier time when everything works fine. On this way it is not easy to say why this happen. Try also to remove sound card from device manager and restart the unit.
All drivers for your unit you can find on Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

    Can anyone advise me
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi
The same happens on my brothers notebook because the files and sectors on the HDD were corrupted. This is happened after trying changing the partitions size.
I have booted from the original Microsoft Windows booting CD and went to the reparation console. I think you have to press the R to start the reparation in the Windows setup.
Then in the reparation console I have used the chkdsk /r option to solve this problem.
And I was successful try it!

  • Does Satellite P200-1EE has BT built-in?

This is going to sound like a really stupid question ( coming from someone who used to work in the I.T. industry ) ....
I have seen a lot of mention about '*Bluetooth*' functionality, but *how do i know for certain if my 'lappy' has it*, _*or*_ better still *if it has ever been setup* for it
    ( I have a *Satellite P200-1EE* - if that makes any difference ) ??

im in I.T is well. unfortunately on the box it shows the blutooth sign... it doesnt have bluetooth capabilities. if you need bluetooth you can get attachable usb sticks which come with the software required to make your computer bluetooth accessable. good luck.

  • Does Satellite A100-912 supports internal microphone

    Dear sir,
    I have a Satellite A100-912.
I can see beside the volume controller a small opening, i thought at first that was the microphone.
    But unfortunately it wasn't , or i don't know.
I opened my settings and i didnt find any microphone installed or working.
Is there a microphone. on this machine?
And if there is how can i enable it or install it?
If there isn't what is that opening beside the volume controller?

I wonder why you dont take a look into the user manual?
Such details and infos should be always mentioned in the user manual!
From my personal knowledge this notebook DOESNT support an internal microphone.
    Bye

  • Does port mirroring adversely affect internal memory?

I wanted to know if leaving port mirroring configured for 21 ports on a 3500 XL switch affects the internal RAM. If not, then I'll simply leave it turned on for a time when I need it again.
    Thanks!

The CPU utlization change should be minimal if any from the current cpu utilization. Since you have it on now, you can check the proc cpu, remember this platform have 20% - 40% or even 50% at normal range. Waht you need to be concerned about is monitor port are destination port of a mirrored packet, and if the monitored ports are connected accidentally to another switch it could created a problem such as looped packets.

  • Does the hp photosmart 8450 printer have a hard drive/internal memory?

i am disposing of this printer and want to be sure there is no personal information remaining.
    This question was solved.

    Hi Justwantono,
HP Photosmart desktop printers do not have an internal memory that stores scanned images, copies, or print jobs.  Make sure any camera cards in the front slot have been removed.
    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite A60 crashes and reboot cycle - system32\DRIVERS\Ntfs missing or corrupt

I have a Toshiba Satellite A60 which has recently developed a serious problem and is currently stuck in a crash reboot cycle. It began with the message "system32\DRIVERS\Ntfs missing or corrupt", I have read about this problem on message boards but still am unable to find a fix.
Currently on start up various error messages are displayed stating a driver is missing or corrupt, the Toshiba start up page has vertical lines of missing data and on the few occasions it will fully boot after a short period of time vertical lines appear through the display and it crashes.
I have tried a number of fixes:
    * Re installed windows XP pro (formatting the hard drive and renewing the partitions)
    * Updating the bios from the toshiba site to version 1.90 (I believe the update also flashes the bios, though would need this confirming?)
    * Swapping the hard drive with another laptop, still will not boot and HD works fine in the other laptop, ruling out the missing or corrupt files posibility.
I realise this could be a problem with the RAM and believe the laptop has 512 fixed to the motherboard, inaccesible without stripping down, but am not sure how to determine if RAM is the problem. Whilst trying these fixes I am getting problems with booting from the CD drive and can only get the drive to spin up and recognise the CD about 1 in 10 times.
Could anyone suggest a remedy or fix I may try? or suggest how they fixed a similar problem. Many thanks

You description ssounds not very good ;(
The hardware malfunction seems to be responsible for the vertical lines on the screen
If the vertical lines appear also an external display the board could be wrong.
Youre right, I have googled and it seems the Sat A60 supports an internal memory.
As far as I know such memory cannot be removed and only a electronics technician could solve such internal memory problem.
But are you sure that the internal memory is corrupt. The unit supports only 256MB of internal memory and other modules are removable
So you could try to replace it

  • Ovi Maps, Internal Memory / Memeory cards question

My new memory card arrives in a day or two and until it does I have not been downloading much on my phone but I have been using Ovi Maps.
When maps starts I get the little popup about not finding external memory so it uses the internal memory and I was wondering is there stuff left on the internal memory that can be deleted or copied to the external memory when I get it?

As it was expected I did my job with nokia map loader...http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/nokia-map-loader/download
And after that ovi suite opened without questions the maps.
If it is integrated in ovi suite as I read here: /t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Nokia-Map-Loader-support-dropped/td-p/700212
it doesn't work right. If it is a new map loader in ovi then nokia you have to go BACK.

  • Insignia Digital Photo Frame - Internal Memory

On two separate occassions I copied photos from a USB drive onto the digital frame's internal memory.  Both times the photos disappeared from the internal memory after I turned the frame off and back on.
Has anoyone else had a similar problem?  I called customer service yesterday and they said that you aren't able to put photos on internal memory, but I don't think that is correct.

    Hi skruggs,
Any digital photo frame that has internal memory (not all of them do) should allow you to permanently save your images to the frame. Without knowing the exact model number of your frame it would impossible to say exactly what is causing this to happen.
There could be a defect in the frame, but it also could simply be a setting on the frame. If there is a defect in the frame it would be covered by the manufacturer's warranty, and most Insignia digital photo frames come with a six month parts and labor warranty.
If you are still having this issue, and you need assistance on this, I encourage you to reply to this message with the model number of this frame. You could also try posting on Insignia's forum where you should be able to get a resolution to this from a product specialist.
    Thanks for posting,

  • Satellite A60 - White Screen Freeze on Boot up

    Hi
My laptop Satellite A60-106 has developed some problem on boot up. It just freezes onto a white screen on boot up before I see any graphics. It looks as though it can access the DVD/CD drive but any attempt to boot up with a recovery disc fails in the same white screen and it freezes. I have tried the manufacturers advice as powering up with the F12 key pressed and another suggestion on the
CD to hold the C key down whilst turning on the power brings the same result.
Nothing but the white screen. I have tried F8 to see if I can get into safe mode but it won't move on past the initial clunking of the drives and then silence. I can't think of any way to get this to allow me to move on. I am sure you can though? I would be happy to format and reload but if I can't access the drive then how can I do that?
I wanted to increase the RAM but all of the suggestions in the hand book do not relate to the layout of my laptop. The small access window on the bottom of the laptop will not allow enough access to the RAM? Poking about around the RAM might have induced this white screen lock out?
    Thanks
    Charlie

    Hello Charlie
To be honest you have serious problem and I really do not believe you can solve it alone. It is not easy to say for sure why white display occurs at the boot up. In my opinion there can be several reasons responsible for this.
    - Display (display cable, LCD electronic)
    - as far as I know white screen occurs if FL inverter makes background light but there is no display signal it can be some defect on mainboard and there is no video signal
The best thing you can do is to contact authorized service provider. Let them check your notebook. They have special tools and there is no problem to find out why this happen.
