Does user will be able to create Adhoc reporting services in SharePoint foundation 2010, our requirement is the SMDL created bit BIDS(Business Intelligence Development Studio) would be uploaded into the business intelligence site and user uses these SMDL
to create and customize their report as they needed. does this sort of reporting services is possible through share Point foundation.
the same requirement is achieved through SharePoint server 2010 where we create a site collection using business intelligence center template, but in foundation their is no template like business intelligence as such, so is their any ways to achieve my requirement

  • Sharepoint foundation 2013 Search Service Application.

    Hi all,
I want to configure search application for sharepoint foundation 2013. I have followed some of the web links.
But did not get success. Can you please provide me the working example of how to configure search application and run the crawl. And make sure the search is working correctly.
    Thanks  in advance for help.

    Hi Vishwajeet,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to configure SharePoint Foundation 2013 Search service application.
In SharePoint Foundation 2013, we cannot add the Search Service to SharePoint Foundation 2013 from the Central Administration GUI after selecting a manual configuration method. It seems that the ONLY way you can add the Search Service to SharePoint Foundation
2013 is by using the SharePoint Configuration Wizard.
More information, please refer to the link:

  • SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service - Unable to activate worker process proxy object within the worker process

    Issue:
On a vanilla installation, the sandboxed code service (e.g. SPUCHostService.exe) is started; however, SPUCWorkerProcessProxy.exe and subsequently SPUCWorkerProcess.exe fails to start.
    Resolution/Workarounds attempted:
Attempted 2 different Load balancing settings – local and remote (i.e. affinity)
Ensured local computer policy on server for ‘RPC Endpoint Mapper Client Authentication’ and ‘Restrictions for Unauthenticated RPC clients’ is disabled.
Ensured following key in registry is set properly - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\RPC
Attempted to bypass SharePoint’s check for certificate revocations at crl.microsoft.com
Ensured the service account is added to the respective groups (e.g. Performance Log Users, Performance Monitor Users, IIS_IUSRS, WSS_ADMIN_WPG, WSS_WPG)
Increased limit of ‘AbnormalProcessTerminationCount’ of SPUserCodeService via Powershell

Any other insights on how I can troubleshoot the issue described?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi ,
For resolving your issue , you can do as the followings:
    1. Logged into the Web Server with the Timer Service Account.
    2. Ran the powershell command to check the SID of the account running the spucworkerprocessproxy.exe:
    $(Get-SPManagedAccount -Identity "THE SERVICE ACCOUNT").Sid.Value
    3. Checked the registry :
    HKEY_USERS\[SID OF THE SERVICE ACCOUNT]\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WinTrust\Trust Providers\Software Publishing\State
    4. Changed the value 0x00023c00 to 0x00023e00

  • Sharepoint 2013 - Which Server Should Run Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service

We have just deployed Sharepoint 2013 and also CRM 2011..
Our Sharepoint 2013 Environment has a WFE and an APP server and we have a CRM 2011 box.
We have been getting the following error in IE when Users in CRM are clicking on the Document Link under accounts which links to Sharepoint 2013
"This Content cannot be displayed in a frame
To help protect the security of information you enter into this website, the publisher of this content does not allow it to be displayed in a frame."
It seems like it is a IE Security Issue, but I am suspecting it could be the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service.
Which server should be running the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service| WFE or APP.
Also which server should run the Windows Service: SharePoint User Code Host
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
Please have a look at the following post:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219591.aspx
As it describes, the recommendation is for both services to start it on the Web Front End servers.
    Cheers,

  • Difference between Reporting Services Sharepoint Mode and Reporting Services Add In for Sharepoint 2013

Hi, We are building company site with Sharepoint 2013 Enterprise Edition and were wondering what is the difference between Reporting Services Sharepoint Mode and Reporting Services Add In for Sharepoint 2013? What are the roles/purposes of each one? What
happens if only Reporting Services Sharepoint Mode  installed or vise versa.
    Thank you in advance

Reporting Services in SharePoint mode is a service for displaying, managing, and creating SSRS reports within SharePoint. The addin is a pre-req for SharePoint that is used to display reports and is required for Reporting Services in Native or SharePoint
mode, but does not by itself do anything.

  • SharePoint Foundation Web Application service "missing"

    Hi all,
I've got an unusual situation. I was getting an "object reference not set to an instance of an object" error when trying to create a web application which was a little concerning.
Although I've not got to the bottom of that yet I've discovered that the SharePoint Foundation Web Application service is "missing" when I go to the list of Services on Server in Central Admin. It's only a small farm (1 app and 1 web server) with
the service running on the web server.
It must actually be running because the existing SharePoint sites are running, but obviously something's not right.
Has anyone ever seen this happen before?
    Thanks.

    Thank you for the replies
I've run Install-SPService but that's not made any difference.
When I run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard (GUI), on the first screen (Modify server farm settings) it's showing the
correct database server and configuration database name and "Do not disconnect from this server farm" is selected by default.
On the next screen (Configure SharePoint Central Administration Web Application) it looks like I'm configuring a new because it wants me to specify a port for central admin. If I specify the existing central admin port then I get "The port specified
has already been chosen". If I don't specify the port then it appears that if I continue Central Admin will be re-provisioned on a new port.
"False" is returned for the command  (get-spserver $env:computername).NeedsUpgrade
Could running psconfig from the command line fix this? If there's an issue I don't want to make things worse (although we are running in a VMware environment so I can snapshot the servers).
    Thanks.

  • SharePoint 2010 and Reporting Services add-in - multiple versions supported?

    Hello,
I would like to try out Reporting Services with SharePoint 2010.  I already have the Reporting Services add-in installed on the WFE for SQL Server 2008 R2, but not configured.
At this point I thinking it's best to move forward with SQL Server 2012.
Can both the 2008 R2 version and 2012 version of the Reporting Services add-in exist on the same WFE in separate instances? Or do I need to uninstall the 2008 R2 version first?
    Thank you in advance,

Just upgrade to the 2012 version, you don't have to uninstall first.
Also, see the supported combinations of SSRS version and Addin version:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg492257.aspx
Use the highest version of the addin possible, as newer addins have offered performance improvements.

  • SharePoint Foundation 2013 - report / chart / Graph for Employee vacation.

In SharePoint Foundation 2013 I want to create a report / chart / Graph for Employee (Employee Id,Employee Name & Department) which will show month wise from which date to which date Employee are on vacation in particular department.
I'm thinking to create one List where where user will enter there vacation details and from that list report I will create chart / Graph Department wise to check the Employees availability.
Please provide some good example or idea in detail for this.

    Hi,
Chart Web Parts are useful for visually representing data in line charts, bar charts, and other views. Charts enable you and other users to view performance information at a glance.
In SharePoint 2013, chart web part is one of the discontinued features. We usually use Excel Service to replace it, however, Excel Service is only available in Enterprise edition, so we need to figure out coding methods or third party tool if you are using
    Foundation edition.
Here are some links for workaround in your situation, please check if they can be help:

  • Sharepoint thumbnails in Reporting Services

    Hello,
In a reporting services report, if I add an external image stored in a image library in Sharepoint 2007 Standard Edition (let's say http://myserver/ImagesLib/Image.jpg), the image is correctly displayed in the report viewer in visual studio 2008 and in the sharepoint report server.
But if I add an external image on the thumbnail of the previous image (http://myserver/ImagesLib/_t/Image_jpg.jpg) the image is visible in the report viewer but not in the navigator on the sharepoint report server (not available icon).
Do you have any idea on what is wrong?
Thanks in advance for your help

    Hi falavillotte,
Based on my testing, we can specify a Excecution Account to solve the issue:
1.Open SQL Server Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
    2.Go to "Execution Account"
3.Type a domain account that has permission to access the SharePoint site.
Now, we should able to view the image in the report.
When retrieving external image files, the report server checks to see if an anonymous connection can be made. If the connection is password protected, the report server uses the unattended report processing account to connect to the remote server. When retrieving data for a report, the report server either impersonates the current user, prompts the user to provide credentials, uses stored credentials, or uses the unattended processing account if the data source connection specifies None as the credential type. The report server does not allow its service account credentials to be delegated or impersonated when connecting to other computers, so it must use the unattended processing account if no other credentials are available.

  • Where does SharePoint Foundation save the uploaded documents ?

    Hi,
Can anyone here please let me know where does the SharePoint Foundation 2013 & Standard edition save the uploaded documents ?
from the past SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007) experience, it is saved in the SQL Server
WSS_Content database, is that still the case ?
is there any way to redirect it to another file server / file share or even the locally attached SharePoint server itself ?
    /* Server Support Specialist */

If SQL is down, then SharePoint is down..
If your content databases are full then you'll likely still have access to the sites, but you'll hit errors when trying to perform any action that wants to write to the database.
It's not possible to divert the content onto the file system, all you can do is increase the storage available to SQL. (Or if you're using the free SQL databases that have an upper limit, you'll need to migrate the data into a full version of SQL server.)

  • Upgrade Sharepoint 2010 SQL Reporting Services from 2008 R2 to 2014

I'm about to do the upgrade of SharePoint 2010 Reporting Services from 2008 R2 to 2014.  The instructions say it can be done "in-place" with no downtime.  I've seen this article:
    http://whitepages.unlimitedviz.com/2012/03/upgrading-sql-server-reporting-services-to-2012-in-sharepoint-integrated-mode/
It covers 2012 so I assume the same holds true for 2014.
I'd like to get the low down from anyone who has actually performed the upgrade of SSRS from 2008 R2 to 2014.  Anyone done this upgrade?  Any issues?
    David Jenkins

So far I would have to say that the upgrade can be done "in-place" but there is a "DOWNTIME".
This article has helped a lot:
    http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/tlingenfelder/archive/2012/07/10/upgrading-sql-server-reporting-services-2008-r2-to-sql-server-reporting-services-2012-in-sharepoint.aspx
In the article it tells you about a bug in the SQL Upgrade process where
the Domain account you use will not work. When you type in the password it fails. On top of that it will lock the Domain account because of a bad password!  There is probably something wrong with the authentication process and it garbles the password.
Anyway, you end up having to change the account to the "Network Service" account before you can do the upgrade.  This means the services get restarted which means???
DOWN TIME!  He goes over other errors.  I haven't reviewed these issues yet.
The other thing I learned is that everything needs to be SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 in order to upgrade.  You don't find this out until almost the last step in the installation process.
Now I have to wait until next week to actually do the upgrade because I have to schedule an SP2 install.  :(

  • Does SAP SRM support accelarated service procurement?

    Dear Guru's ,
Can you comment on if SAP SRM supports accelerated service procurement ? My client follows the below business process time to time:
While requiring to perform emergency services (which are also not high valued service), they directly create service entry sheet entering the service performed and create invoice against it in their existing MM system. They donot go for purchase creation and approval process as the effort does not justify the value of the transaction.
Now, since they are going for SAP SRM system, they want to transfer the accelerated service procurement process to SRM system as well.
Does SAP SRM support this business process i.e. creation of service entry sheet or confirmation without any reference to Purchase Order? I donot have any system to check it from myside..
Your inputs will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ranjan

    Hi
In Std SRM - GR is always is done with reference to Purchase Order
Therefore it is not possible to post GR or Services without any PO
