  • Does Solaris 10 support cisco Virtual Port Channels over IP?

    Does anyone know if Solaris 10 support cisco Virtual Port Channels open IP?

    Hi user11114413,
    The issue you are seeing actually has little to do with VIP, and more to do with there being multiple IP addresses for us to choose from on your box. For such multi-IP boxes, you'll want to tell us the IP to use, and in your case you want to tell as a VIP. This can be done either by editing your operational configuration file, and including an <address> element within the <unicast-listener> element, or via the tangosol.coherence.localhost system property. For example:
    <unicast-listener>
        <well-known-addresses>
            <socket-address id="1">
                <address>1.2.3.260</address> <!--virtual ip -->
                <port>8088</port>
            </socket-address>
        </well-known-addresses>
        <address>1.2.3.260</address> <!--virtual ip -->
        <port>8088</port>
    </unicast-listener>or
    java ... -Dtangosol.coherence.localhost=1.2.3.260If you are using the same operational configuration on all nodes in your cluster then the system property approach is likely preferable, and would only be necessary on the two machines sharing the VIP.
    As for using VIP or an extended WKA list, the choice is yours, either will work. If you do go the VIP route, it would obviously be a very bad idea to simultaneously use the same VIP and port at the same time from the two machines.
    thanks,

  • What does Airport Express Support

    I have been researching the airport express and i have heard that people have connected their xbox to it and of course the printer and stereo, but I would also like to plug in a hard drive with a powered usb hub. Does anyone have a setup like this or any advise?

    The +*Airport Express*+ supports a printer, but not a disk: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB321LL/A/AirPort-Express-AirTunes?fnode=MTY1N DA0Mg&mco=MTA4NTc4MTE
    You may want the +*Airport Extreme,+* which supports a printer and/or external HDs (but not Time Machine backups): http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC340LL/A/AirPort-Extreme?fnode=MTY1NDA0Mg&mco =MTMzNzU2NDk

  • Does Logic Express support non-Apple Virtual Instruments?

    Does LE support non-Apple VIs such as Native Instruments Kontakt and FXPansion BFD, or would i need Logic Pro to support that?

    Hi,
    Logic Express supports Audio Units plugins, both effects and instruments.
    Both Kontakt and BFD are available as Audio Units; in case you want to use a VST instrument (Mac version, of course), you need the VST to Audio Unit adapter from fxpansion (see http://www.fxpansion.com/product-auadapter-main.php)

  • Does Airport Express support MAC spoofing?

    I'm using Comcast, Seattle which requires that I use a particular MAC address to connect to their network. In order to do this, I will need to get a router that supports MAC spoofing (i.e. setting AE to pretend to have another MAC address). Is this possible?

    Sorry, but no. None of Apple's Base Stations, nor the Airport Express, support MAC address cloning on the WAN port.
    If Comcast's system doesn't automatically re-register a new connection by power cycling the modem (as many systems do), certainly it should be possible for Comcast to manually register the MAC address of a new device cabled to their modem?

  • Does Solaris 10 supports Lexmark PCL printers

    Hi.
    I need to know if Solaris 10 supports for sure PCL laser printers, I'm talking about Lexmark E120n (TCP/IP) and Lexmark E232 (Paralel). As I know these printers support PostScript with Mac OS only.
    In technical specification of these printers is not mentioned that they support Solaris. However laser printers that support languages like PCL are able to work with other drivers. For example I used HP LaserJet 1200 with HP LJ4 driver and it worked fine (not on Unix !).
    I checked drivers that are supplyed with Solaris, it has drivers for Lexmark Optra E and Lexmark E210.
    Thank you.

    In Lexmark. there are no Solaris drivers for E232 and E120.
    These printers support only PCL.
    All laser printers can work with other generic drivers that support its supported languages (PCL in my case).
    In Printer Administrator, Solaris 10 has spooler for PCL printers.
    I tryed and it works. However, Solaris 8 really can print only on PostScript printers.
    Linux Fedora Core 5, has built in CUPS spooler and good print server.
    I'll use it to share printer between other computers (based on Solaris 10 and other Operating Systems).

  • Does airport express support guest network

    i have a client with an airport extreme (802.11n/4th gen) and an airport express (802.11n/1st gen). the express is located in an outbuilding, connected to the extreme via powerline adaptors, and configured as wds (that is,  the express broadcasts the ssid of the extreme and just provides a wireless connection since the extreme's signal doesn't reach that far). it works well in terms of having a seamless connection as devices move back and forth between the two buildings.
    as this is a business, they have asked to have the guest network functionality on the airport extreme enabled so that visitors can have internet access, but no access to the office network. the airport express in the outbuilding needs to support both networks (office and guest). as i don't have a lot of experience with apple networking products, i thought it better to ask before i start playing with the configuration.
    can the express provide connections to both networks in wds mode? if not, is there some way to configure the airports so that both networks are available thru the express and there is limited necessity for user response when moving between the two buildings (that is, if the express has to have its own ssid/dhcp/??? ?
    any and all suggestions welcome.

    The 1st Gen AirPort Express does not have Guest Network capability, so it cannot be used for the purpose desired by your client.
    A 2nd Gen AirPort Express, which does have Guest Network capability could be used to extend the Guest Network that is provided by the AirPort Extreme. This assumes that the AirPorts are running up to date firmware and you are using AirPort Utility 6.x to configure the devices.

  • Does Airport Express Support WPA2?

    Hi guys! I'm thinking of getting an Airport Express, but I'm wondering, does it support WPA2?

    Yes, it supports WPA2.
    We've added the Express to an existing Extreme base. Super easy and fast setup.
    We use the Express to stream audio only.
    To exchange data between computers (and hook up to the internet) we use the Extreme base. So far I cannot see any noticable degration in speed on the Extreme base due to WDS overhead.

  • Does AirPort Express support fax and scanning?

    From the AirPort information on the Apple website there does not appear to be any reference to support for multifunction wi-fi printers and specifically fax and scanning across a network.  I see one image of the AirPort Express device that appears to have a phone line connected and that's all.

    The USB port on the AirPort routers will only support a compatible printer.
    So, if you have a compatible All-in-One device connected to the USB port on any of the AirPort routers, only the print function will work.
    If you need to fax, copy, scan, perform maintenance, etc., you will need to connect the AIO device directly to your computer.

  • Does Airport Express support 24 Bit - 192 KHZ digital out ?

    Hello.
    I have Airport Express connected to a high end external audiophile DAC and would like to know if it supports 24 bit and higher clock frequencies like 96 KHz or 192 KHz.
    Thanks for your thoughts.

  • Does Solaris 10 support OmniORB v.4.1?

    Hi Guys,
    Just want to confirm if OmniORB v. 4.1 is still compatible in Solaris 10.
    If not any suggestion what can I use to replace OmniORB v.4.1?

    Hello Bruce,
    each new release adds some features and new kernels.
    It's not possible use patches to get these features.
    To support new systems between the release cycle (Solaris 10 3/05 GA, Solaris 10 1/06), there are <b>temporary</b> HW releases (Solaris 10 HW1, HW2).
    Btw. the <b>temporary</b> is a quote from the "Release Notes Supplement for Solaris 10 3/05 HW2".
    In Solaris 8 there have been PSR releases after the last "normal" release Solaris 8 2/02.
    The features from the HW releases are included in the next following release. That means the two HW releases are replaced by the Solaris 10 1/06.
    <table border="0" align="center" width="90%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td class="SmallText"><b>Quote:</b></td></tr><tr><td class="quote">
    The minimum OS version for 1.5 GHz UltraSPARC IV+ processors is Solaris 9 9/05 and Solaris 10 3/05 HW1
    The minimum OS version for 1.35 GHz UltraSPARC IV processors is Solaris 8 2/04, Solaris 9 4/04, and Solaris 10 3/05
    </td></tr></table>
    Unfortunately systems that can be upgraded to UltraSPARC IV+ are beyond the scope of these user-to-user forums.

  • Does Airport Express support multiple ethernet connections via a switch?

    If I use the following configuration, with the Airport Express extending my network, will it handle multiple devices connected via a switch?
    Modem---Airport Extreme- - -802.11n- - -Airport Express---Switch---multiple devices (eg. network printer and iMac).
    Or do I need to use a second Airport Extreme instead?

    It works for me—even when the AirPort Express device is configured to extend the wireless network created by the AirPort Extreme router.
