What’s New: Generic Device Support in RME
Day one device support for network management applications is a continuing challenge. As new hardware platforms
come to market, device support may be lagging. The CiscoWorks Incremental Device Update team announces
availability of a new "automated" update tool, providing device support for inventory and configuration functionality
within Resource Manager Essentials. This tool allows customers to quickly get support for new hardware platforms
where complete device package support through the Incremental Device Update program has not yet been
delivered. This new tool can be downloaded from
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cw2000-rme andinstalled on the LMS 3.01, 3.1, and 3.2 code base. The following features are enabled for devices using the
automated update tool:
Device Management in RME:The Device Manageability Status Report provides details as to whether the device is officially supported or
managed using automatic IDU.
Inventory Management in RME:
◦System-, port-, memory-, Flash-, and bridge-related information will be queried using Entity or the OCCM
MIB.
◦Support for CDA will be provided.

Config Management in RME:
◦Sync archive using CLI and TFTP protocols
◦Ad-hoc template in NetConfig deployment
◦Partial NetShow if MDF association is available
◦Raw mode in version summary and version tree
◦Partial out-of-sync summary and compare configuration
◦Config Editor support for editing in raw mode only
An announcement regarding similar support capability in Campus Manager and Device Fault Manager will be sent
when it becomes available.

You can go to Common Services > Software Center > Device Update, click the the RME link, and search for GenericDev.  If you find it, then you have the package installed.  For any device which has a sysObjectID which RME doesn't recognize with a specific package, this package will be tried instead.
If you find that the package is not already installed, perform a device update for RME, and download and install all available device packages.

  • Playbook Orders Canceled, does RIM know about this?

    I have seen several posts about discounted playbook orders canceled on shop.Blackberry.com or with extremely long wait times to receive the merchandise. Do the head executives and board of trustees of RIM know about this problem? I can't imagine that
    they could given the magnitude of this problem, does RIM still love us as much as we love them? Certainly doesn't
    seem so! I've been a Blackberry user for a long time and I planned to upgrade my Bold 9700 to a Torch 9810 because of this PB deal. If RIM doesn't right the ship I don't know how long I could continue to support/advocate them. My contract is up Feb 2012 and I certainly hope by then they will have all their ducks in a row. With that said I am willing to wait for my Playbook given it is one hell of a deal and it's Christmas time, big companies such as RIM always get inundated with massive orders. So I propose this... Given RIM glorious record in the past I say we give them a chance to make things right! What do you say?

    Yea, there's a whole long thread here on the issue with shopblackberry.com backorders with statements from the CIO of that company about what they are doing ongoing to right their problem.
    Does RIM know? I dunno. It's a big mess regardless, that certainly deserves some attention.

  • Management workstation question - how does AD know about this?

    We are trying to setup MBAM 2.5 for the first time. The test client isn't running bitlocker automatically like we hoped.
    We copied the policy templates to a pc and configured the GPO settings.  I don't understand how AD is supposed to know about this "management workstation"?  What are we missing in the documentation? 
    I am thinking this is the step that is keeping it from working.  At least one of the steps...

    The GPO settings can be applied either from AD or from the management workstation.  The 2.5 docs still say that a management workstation is required.
    I think this might not be the case with MBAM 2.5.  We were able to get it working, and I'm sure our clients are not accessing the management workstation.
    Apparently the documentation needs to be updated.

    I just came across a few videos on Youtube showing a kind of LabVIEW user interface. I think there should exist a sort of template project for this, because I have seen more than one person using this. Does any one know where can I find it?

    If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.

    Nobody on here will know until if/when Apple announce something.
    As re-downloading music isn't yet available in Sweden then I assume that the record companies haven't yet agreed to that there yet - and until they agree to re-downloading then I doubt the iTunes Match will be possible.

    I am using Tomcat 4.0 and wanted to setup a database connection pool to a oracle database server. I am able to configure a datasource and get the connection using the web.xml (resource-ref) and server.xml (ResourceParam) tags.
    My questions are
    1. Does tomcat provide a connection pool impl. or is it left to the database driver provider to do that???
    2. if i put a ejb-ref entry in the web.xml how can i specify the ResourceParam entries in the server.xml so that i can point to a weblogic or jboss app server running on a different machine.

    Apple Stores are allowed to offer these workshops if and when they can. Some of them do, but not all of them.
    The One To One program is excellent if you are looking to get trained on Logic at the Apple Store.

  • Do someone know about print errors with kodak1400??

    Hello everyone, I have since a couple years a Kodak 1400 printer, I've been using it with my older  MacBook Pro and never had a problem, now since I've changed to last MacBook Pro i7 then start having some problems....until I can't get it working well over at least 2 prints...
    I've downloaded the latest driver, and updated the latest firmware but any luck
    The printing app says the comunication broke down, or a system problem occured error so -536870163 -
    So it would take the paper in, sometimes start printing the first labels of the ribbon until this messege pop out from the printer app, and there it will stop printing...
    Do someone knows about this error? some idea what can it be? any solutions for that?

I see it in Finder and can see the original files and even copy them from Finder, but Aperture no longer recognizes the HD, and when I try to work with the picture, it doesn't let me because it says that the master is in a volume that's offline. Does someone know how to fix this?

    Just to clarify:
    Does Aperture not see the drive at all (that is, does Aperture also not see the drive in the import and export dialogue) or are only the Master Files disconnected?
    If Aperture does not recognize the drive at all, check the permission settings of the drive in the "Get Info" panel and make sure you have read/write access, also the "Ignore ownership on this volumn" checkmark, this should be set.
    If correcting the permissions does not help, make sure you have a backup, and then use "Disk Utility" to run a check and to repair the volumn, if necessary.
    If Aperture can see the drive on import and export, but only does not see the master image files, then try to reconnect your masters.
    Create a smart album or use a Search with the rule: "File status: offline", to select all images that need reconnecting to their masters.
    Right click on the first image of the selection.
    From the Pop-up window select "Locate referenced Files..."
    Now the "Reconnect All" button should appear.
    Click it.

    Is this a particular sender, or all of your attchments?  Google winmail.dat and you will see a number of returns that can explain this, but in short, this is the way some e mail providers deal with attachments.  If all of your e mail is coming that way, you need to change a setting on your isp set up.  Perhaps stary here...

    ...which essentially means it's most likely a volume license and thus not transferable in the first place. The rest is as Steve said - buying software on eBay is risky even on the best of days.
