Does something sound loose inside the iphone5?

I got the phone on wed, sep 26 and immediately noticed a little clicking noise in the rear of the phone. in order to reproduce it, i need only to tap very lightly on the back of the phone between the logo and the top edge.
apple support sent me a new unit, and out of the box, the replacement is worse. i'm just trying to figure out if this is super-widespread or what. after the super-solid feeling of the 4, this is disconcerting. i don't want to go through this again with another unit.

Noise Problem cured !!!
My iPhone 5 made a rattling noise when shaken after it had "a few falls"
I read in one of the forums that it was the battery coming away from the adhesive.
I checked iFixit teardown of the iPhone 5 and noted the very large battery which occupies two thirds of the screen space from left to right (starting from above the headphone jack side).
I'm not surprised that if it comes loose that it is the cause of the clunking rattle.
One of the forums contributors suggested gradually pressing all the area of the phone on the outside that overlies the battery inside pressing hard between front and back over all of the screen area from left to right that fronts the battery inside. In this way one pushes the battery back on to the adhesive !!

  • Something's loose in the battery

My macbook battery worked (as in it would charge) when we got it - refurbished. My kids then dropped it - thanks little 3 year old - and it stopped charging, but the power cable would at least hold the charge. Well, my husband knocked it off the couch (yes I should be more careful where I leave it) yesterday and it's no longer charging. I'm thinking something's loose inside. Anyone know what it might be. I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in, but that doesn't do anything. I'm tempted to throw it on the floor again, but wont for obvious reasons - LOL. Anyways, any insight on how to fix this would be great.
    Thanks,
    Morgan

If the iPhone is still under warrantee, you could have Apple Support check the iPhone out and repair or replace it.  There various components that have been known to become loose and make a little noise even if you just mildly shake the phone.  Could be a lens or even the battery.

  • Why aren't apple doing something to sort out the facetime app for mac

Why aren't apple doing something to sort this out, there is obviously something wrong as so many people seem to be having the same or very similar problems, I was about to buy the facetime app for my mac but not sure I should now
Come on apple, no use sticking your head in the sand, get it sorted.
After all, you are quite happy to take peoples money for your app, the least you can do is to ensure it works.

Backing up and restoring is not the same as downgrading.
Apple have stopped signing 5.1.1 which is why you can't downgrade.

  • Does anyone how to connect the iphone5 to an audio receiver

Does anyone know why I can connect my ipod to my receiver using the rca cables and the headphone adapter, yet I cannot do the same thing for the iphone 5?  I have confirmed that the iphone 5 works fine when listening via headphones or simply using the phone's external speaker.  Maybe I need a special cord?  Did something change between the old apple products and the new iphone 5?  Thanks in advance.
    Victoria

I use a pre iPhone 5 Bose headphones with a normal 3.5mm jack plug on my 5
and works perfectly so there is no mechanical reason why your cable doesn't work
As kappy says any 3.5mm stereo jack plug will work

  • Lenovo G550: screeching sound from inside the laptop

    Hi,
Since recently, my G550 started producing a loud screeching noise. It happens occasionally, and the sound is like a loud squeak. The laptop was collected from me and sent to the local service centre, but after having it back I can still hear the same loud noise. Has anyone come accross this before? Service centre people suggested it could be the fan problem, but found nothing and assured me it should work fine, but it doesn't.. Please help me with advice, do you think it is something to do with a harddrive and can it lead to something more serious in terms of the functionality???
    Thanks in advance.

  • Why does something as simple as the date on my computer being wrong cause firefox to not allow me to open any websites?

I saw others have this problem a few times...and people are trying to have them do all kinds of stuff to fix it. This is one of my errors:
    This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.facebook.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Does that for everything. And sometimes it has a double confirmation to go to the site anyway. Other times it will not let you go to a site no matter what.
So I came here and I realized what it was on my own after reading some complicated fixes people suggested to others who posted this problem.
Look at the date...not on your phone...on the computer with the problem.
So you guys may wanna make part of the warning message mention to make sure the date is correct on your computer. Also you would think a program connected to the internet with access to the correct time would not go by the computers clock. Or maybe you should make it verify the date online when this error occurs so the error message could tell the user what's wrong...or at least let him go to a website. Or maybe not even scare the user with a totally bogus security warning.

I know I said I figured it out it's just stupid and I wanted others to see the easy solution. So my computers date was 2009 and a current 2014 security certificate was ruled unsafe by firefox. That's logic for ya. Maybe only consider the cert expired when it's PAST the expiration date. You know like read the definition of expired. I think they have it backwards.

  • How does group message work for the iphone5?

I want to send out the same message to everyone instead of creating a new thread for each person and I don't want them to see the names of the other people that I am sending it to. Does turning of group message prevent the group chat or will they still everyone's names? Thanks.

This happening because you guys are sharing the same apple id, you can continue to share it or create a separate one for each user.  You'll have to make sure that for icloud - each users have their own apple id.
Then go into settings - message - send&receive - make sure the phone number is the default.

  • Can't See My Sound Fonts Inside the EXS24

I created a folder called sound fonts in USER/LIBRARY/LOGIC/SAMPLER INSTRUMENTS. I just got new sound fonts, i put them in side the folder... I didn't see them, how do I go about using sound fonts? Thanks

Yo whats up dude... That was the first thing I tried...maybe i shouldnt stick it in the folder. Should i just stick the files in the Sample Instruments foler.
Yes, that's it. I have only done that once, just to try it out. I believe that you can put them in a folder after conversion though.

  • Want to buy an ipod shuffle..Does it sound good with the earpods??Asking because my earpods sounds pretty good and loud with the iPad but sounds very average with my Macbook Pro 13 non-retina

    ............

"Good" is a personal opinion, when it comes to audio gear. If there is an Apple Store nearby, you should take your EarPods there and ask if you can connect it to one of the display shuffles, and try it out.
In my personal opinion, the EarPods sound very good in general.

  • Well the screen on my Macbook has become well unusable and well the screen flickers then freezes and i cannot move the mouse unless i hold the screen i suspect something is loose in the screen which connects it to the hard drive and keyboard

i find this to be very annoying and i am suspecting i will have to take my Macie to get repaired i was just wondering is anyone else has any similar problems i find this very annoying and i am not all too sure how it has begun to happen due to the fact that i have NEVER dropped or done anything to harm my macie and well i do not understand why this is happening i mostly use my computer while sitting at a desk so i do not understand but oh well i am rambling on please if anyone has had a similar problem do share.

If your screen is flickering, you might have a hardware issue there. I would take Macie to the doctor and have her checked out.

  • HELP---hardware issue, sounds like something is loose

Ok so I just got my ipod video in the mail today...I was pretty excited...then as I was taking a walk I moved it and it sounded and felt like something is loose inside, not something small either. And I kept shaking it and it doesnt happen every time but every so often it feels like something moves inside...does anyone have a clue why this would happen and what it might be?????
Im also OCD with things like this but...the screen also seems to have two tiny holes, like when the videos play theres little spots where it doesnt show up but thats probably common...I mean they are very very small but like I said, Im OCD...its the first problem Im more worried about....

Yes, there is much more sound from the harddisc operation in the 5g iPod than on the on the previous models. Should be no need to send it back. for a new one.

  • HT4528 Calendar under IOS7.0.2 has been changed. does not work the same. what happened to LIST mode (multiple entries being displayed in list format) or am i doing something wrong?

I got use to using Calendar app where multiple entries are stacked under IOS6.  Under iOS7.0.2 I enter a new appointment and after the entry I can not find the new appointment after i click on done.  Am I doing something incorrect HELP!

The list view does not appear to be among the "standard views" for the Calendar app in iOS 7.0.x.  You can still get the list view by going to the day view and hitting the search button (magnifying glass icon).

  • N97, strange noise inside the phone

    Hei,
today I noticed a strange noise when waving the phone. It was heard behind the camera.
The noise was  heard after taking the battery, sim & SD card away, but not when the key pad was opened.
It sounds like something were lose inside the phone.
So went to Nokia service point. There we noticed that the other two 97's, that they had there,  had the same noise although not so loud as in mine.
The service guy had not noticed the same before and told me to wait until he gets more information.
Has some of you the same problem?
    N900, N95

I hear a strange noise in my phone too. After a bit of testing I realised that something is moving slightly only when the phone's keyboard is closed. When you open the keyboard and shake the phone, nothing is heard. I suppose the plastic hinges thingy mechanism that holds the keyboard makes the noise and when the keybord is close its a bit loose and makes the sound. I also think that this is the reason why on some phone the vibtation sound weird- cause this plastic thing rattles about when the phone is vibrating.
    Can someone confirm this?

  • What does "P:2" mean in the firewall log?

i am getting entries like this in my firewall log:
    63300 Deny P:2 169.254.68.70 224.0.0.251 in via en1
what is "P:2" and how should i deal with this kind of traffic? we are having some odd network issues related to the firewall so i'd like to make the P:2 stuff Allowed instead of Denied, but these entries have no port number and they are neither TCP nor UDP, so i can't see where in the UI to make a change...

right, 169.254.x.x would be one of the office machines that hasn't picked up an IP from the DHCP server yet. 224.0.0.251 is related to bonjour somehow... i am thinking that the machine with the self-assigned IP is using bonjour to talk to other machines on the LAN, or to discover the DHCP server or something like that.
but -- my problem is that i can't figure out what rule in the firewall is causing these P:2 packets to get denied, and likewise how i would go about changing the firewall to accept these packets. for now i've set up an address group for 169.254.0.0/16 and told the firewall to accept all traffic from those IPs, but i still don't understand what P:2 means or why these connections don't have an associated port (which implies that "allow all traffic" is doing something different than checking the box for every service in the list).

Definitlely have it looked at. That could be a hardware deffect on the maker(apple) so there could be a definite replacement option.
