  • Error message with offer to download the 4.1.B.0.587 update and note: "installation not possible" (because it's already there) cannot partition SD card

    Hi - Recently I put the latest update on my LT15i (4.1.B.0.587), after this I rooted the phone, and everything seemed okay. But since then I keep getting an error message with an offer to download the 4.1.B.0.587 update and the note: "installation not possible" (because it's already there). The news line on top shows a red exclamation mark all the time. It seems to me that it is due to this error that I cannot partition my SD card. Does anybody have an idea how to fix that? Thanks much in advance, and happy holidays - nerissa

    Dear All;
    i'm installing a two nodes cluster (SUN Cluster 3.2 / Solaris 10 / SPARC), for a HA SAP 7.0 / Oracle 10g DataBase
    SAP and Oracle softwares were successfully installed and i could successfully cluster the Oracle DB and it is tested and working fine.
    for the SAP i did the following configurations
    # clresource create -g sap-ci-res-grp -t SUNW.sap_ci_v2 -p SAPSID=PRD -p Ci_instance_id=01 -p Ci_services_string=SCS -p Ci_startup_script=startsap_01 -p Ci_shutdown_script=stopsap_01 -p resource_dependencies=sap-hastp-rs,ora-db-res sap-ci-scs-res

    and when trying to bring the sap-ci-res-grp online # clresourcegroup online -M sap-ci-res-grp
    it executes the startsap scripts successfully as following

    ARSSES

    Hi all.
    I am having a similar issue with a Sun Cluster 3.2 and SAP 7.0
    Scenrio:
    Central Instance (not incluster) : Started on one node
    Dialog Instance (not in cluster): Started on the other node
    When I create the resource for SUNW.sap_as like
    clrs create --g sap-rg -t SUNW.sap_as .....etc etc
    in the /var/adm/messages I got lots of WAITING FOR DISPACHER TO COME UP....
    Then after timeout it gives up.
    Any clue? What does is try to connect or waiting for? I hve notest that it's something before the startup script....
    TIA

  • JVM 1.4.2_04 does not support -Xrs on Solaris?

    I am trying to upgrade JVM from 1.4.1_02 to 1.4.2_04. I found that the vm option "-Xrs" is no longer supported in 1.4.2 JVM. When I try to run the program with -Xrs option, JVM throws
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Signal already used by VM: SIGINT
    This is on Solaris 8.
    I understand that -Xrs is introduced in 1.3 JVM to fix the problem that, when user close the console window where program is started, the java program exits.
    With 1.4.2_04, when I removed the -Xrs option, the above problem is not there anymore.
    Did anyone have similar experiences? I am just confused and cannot find any documentation on Sun's web site.

    Thanks for the effort. BTW, does Sun give any
    explanation on this?As of today it is back up.
    No explaination. Given how odd the page was it didn't seem likely that it was just a rolled back version.

  • Iphoto cannot open kodak easy share photos. Kodak no longer offers software download

    I have old geneology photos that were emailed to me using Kodak Easy Share. They used to be easy to open on the Easy Share website with my Windows system. I now have a MacBook Pro, and Kodak has discontinued offering a downloadable program to open these pics. When I try to open the photos, there is a tiny questionmark instead of the image.
    I can't bear the thought that these photos are  gone, as I spent enormous time and effort researching the subjects.
    Also, my Iphoto program says I need to upgrade my photo library, but also the library won't be readable by older Iphoto programs. ,What about other photo programs (i.e.  Photo shop  or free photo software).
    Obviously, I am a newbie, and trying hard to adjust to the Apple system and would appreciate any help.

    Try open those photos with Graphic Coverter  - it'll open most everything. When you do save them as  Jpeg or Tiff as these are open formats and universally understood.
    The Upgrade message is exactly what it says: It upgrades the library to work with the new version of iPhoto. It does  nothing to the photographs, it has no implications for Photoshop or any other software.

  • Why does Sun Studio need NetBeans?

    Hi!
    Why does Sun Studio need a NetBeans installation for running successfully? If I am not too wrong, I believe Sun Studio has the same relation to the NetBeans project as Star Office has to OpenOffice.org?
    Now, coming to the solution. I am using Sun Studio 12 on Solaris:
    amit@opensolaris:~$ sunstudio --netbeanshome /export/home/amit/netbeans-6.5beta/bin/
    Validating NetBeans IDE at: "/export/home/amit/netbeans-6.5beta/bin/"
    Sun Studio is unable to find a supported version of the NetBeans IDE at the specified location.
    Sun Studio requires a NetBeans IDE version 5.5.1 with NetBeans C/C++ Development Pack version 5.5.1
    installed. Sun Studio looks for a valid NetBeans IDE installation in the following order:
    1) Location specified with --netbeanshome command line option
    2) At /opt/netbeans-5.5.1 location, if exists
    3) At /opt/SUNWspro/../netbeans-5.5.1 location, if exists
    4) At /opt/SUNWspro/../../netbeans-5.5.1 location, if exists
    Please run the System Preparation Tool (prepare_system), if available, to set up your environment.
    As is apparent, I have a NetBeans 6.5 Beta build.
    What is the solution?
    Thanks,
    Amit

    The realtionship from SunStudio to NetBEans is more than a line from A to B.
    Ideally SunStudio releases would track NetBeans releases.
    However, NetBeans evolves at a rather fast pace. At the same time SunStudio
    also contains compilers which have their own products to coordinate with ...
    OS releases, new SPARC chips and Sun system releases.
    These releases never coincide so SunStudio tends to lag in it's dependencies
    on NetBeans and as a result ships with it's own copy.
    We used to actually build our own, sometimes tweaked, NetBeans for SunStudio.
    Weve made some progress in that we just pick released NetBeans bits and re-ship them.
    We're working on the ability for SunStudio to use NetBeanses which are already
    installed.
    To make older SunStudios use newer NetBeans is a tougher proposition but
    we're dedicating grey cells to that matter as well.
    If you really want a NB 6.5 based SunStudio wait a bit. We'll be releasing
    SunStudio SX based on NB 6.5 shortly.

    Try download via browser url:

    You need a valid support contract not just Sunsolve account for many patches.

  • How does Sun make money from Java? Silly question.

    Hi,
    From what I have read about the J2SE licensing, we are able to download the SDK and develope commercial applications with it for free.
    Have I made a big mistake in my reading? How does Sun make any money from Java?
    Thanks very much.

    the versions may be limited in many ways
    they want public and students to use it to become popular
    students get jobs and convince boss to buy enterprise edition
    they make money
    I didn't mention sun in the above list cause they are special!!!!!

  • Parallel port programming for a Sun Ultra 5 running Solaris 8

    Hi I'm trying to look for information about reading/writing to the parallel port of a Sun Ultra 5 running Solaris 8. I'd just like to see some basic programs written in C, nothing fancy, just reading and wrting to the port, getting the port address etc. toggling the lines.
    I've tried searching for this information and there is plenty of information about PC parallel port programming with windows or Linux. But there seems to be little for Sun's
    I've tried doing 'man ecpp' but that doesn't really give any clear example. What I need is an idiots guide.
    I've tried searching this Forum and I see that other people have asked the same question before but no one has replied to them. Why is this?
    Thanks if you can help.
    fishman.

    The key is gettting the port into diag mode. Here's a quickly little example that turns all the data pins on and then turns them off:
    #include <sys/types.h>
    #include <sys/conf.h>
    #include <sys/stat.h>
    #include <unistd.h>
    #include <stropts.h>
    #include <fcntl.h>
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <sys/ecppio.h>
    int fd = 0;
    // ecpp structures
    ecpp_transfer_parms etp;
    ecpp_regs eregs;
    // returns -1 if error otherwise returns fd
    int openoutput()
    fd = open("/dev/ecpp0",O_RDWR);
    if (fd==-1) { return -1; }
    // default is 90
    etp.write_timeout = 10;
    // the big secret
    etp.mode = ECPP_DIAG_MODE;
    ioctl(fd,ECPPIOC_SETPARMS,&etp);
    return fd;
    unsigned char in()
    unsigned char data;
    // from the man pages
    ioctl(fd,ECPPIOC_GETREGS,&eregs);
    data = eregs.dsr;
    return data;
    void out( unsigned char data )
    write(fd,&data,1);
    int main( void )
    int dummy;
    openoutput();
    //all data pins on
    out( 255 );
    scanf("%d", &dummy);
    //all data pins off
    out( 0 );
    scanf("%d", &dummy);
    close( fd );
    return 0;
    }

  • Download Solaris 8 7/01

    Hello,
    I want to download Solaris 8 7/01. Can anybody provide me with the link.
    -Mallik

    @lulians:
    Sun has discontinued Solaris 8, and I believe all links to it have been pulled.
    (It is an old OS)
    Your system can run Solaris 9 or Solaris 10 very well.
    Solaris 9 would occupy a bit less hard drive space.
    Solaris 10 has tons of new capabilities.
    Start here, for download links:
    http://www.sun.com/download/
    Pull down the CD files, because an Ultra-10 never shipped with a DVD drive.
    Also, please note...
    This post was originally put into the Solaris on x86 forum, more than a year ago.
    Your Ultra-10 is NOT* an x86 system.
    It has a SPARC cpu in it.
