Does Sync works both ways (Android to PC)?

I've installed Firefox for Android for the first time. I logged into Sync, and pretty soon I could access all my PC bookmarks on my Android phone.
I then bookmarked a page on the phone, but I can't find it on my PC still (it's been several hours).
Does the Sync work both ways (Android to PC also)?

Hi, I have set my pc photo folder in OVI suite 2.0 and when I launch OVI suite, you can see all my pc based photos in the top right hand window.....When i sync with my phone, It only seems to take the photo's from the phone and puts them in the PC folder....But doesn't take the photo's from the PC & put them on the phone..

Atleast now latest any phones has got too many gigs on their Mass memory, but users using N95s, N82s (still), wont have much memory Mass Memory on their phone, say for eg., if you have 5 GB of Photos on your PC and if you sync photos(if it has got both ways), your phone will run short of memory If you want to copy few images from PC to phone, you can do that by other ways like data transfer mode, Windows Explorer by copy-pasting your pc photo to Phone. So i dont find its nice to have photos to get synched on both ways

I am synching my ipad and iphone with icloud. Events put in calendar go to the iphone, but if i enter an event on the iphone, it does not go to the ipad. What do i do to get this to work both ways?

Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over. See if there are duplicates, should be one for Incoming & one for Outgoing.

If Keychain First Aid finds an issue that it cannot repair, or if you do not know your keychain password, you may need to reset your keychain.

Combobox in array--why does it work this way?

I have attached a snippet of a subVI I'm using to initialize the items and set the values of comboboxes in an array. I modified it slightly so the array being referenced is on this block diagram, not a top level diagram. It took me a while to come to this solution; before I had the combobox part in a for loop and was trying to loop through each array element, get a reference to that element, and set the strings[] and value properties but it was acting all wacky. Then I changed it to the way below and it automatically populates all the comboboxes with the correct values, and then sets their values each to be different (which is what I want!) My question is, why does it work this way? I understand all elements in an array need to be the same (although I did find a work around here.), but the part about setting the values to each be different I was trying to do manually with a property node and a value property, when I realized the combobox just handles it all itself. Is this just a feature of a combobox in an array I need to note for future reference?
edit: I noticed the testers array reference label changed, so hopefully it's still referencing the same control. You may need to relink it.

Yes that is true but the value returned when using a property node >>> value will return the top left displayed value. In the code included in that Nugget, I set the size of the control such that it only shows a single element then by manipulating the index control I can raed each element in the array.
At least that is how it behaved back in the day of that nugget.
Yes, my wife left me home alone with a case of beer and LV to find that tidbit. I suspect that feature will one day disapear without anyone noticing.

BB Desktop manager - sync not working both ways on new Tour

Events from BB will sync with Mac but if I put an event in iCal it will not sync with the BB.
Message: A SYNC ERROR OCCURRED. PLEASE RETRY SYNC during calendar sync

Computer: MACBOOK PRO
MAC OS X: VERSION 10.6.4

Desktop Manager software v1.0.4 (build 10) Currently says I am updated.
Worked the first time, when desktop override smartphone selected and appeared to worked for a couple of days then I started getting this error. I did initially check out all the syncing, with trial contacts and events and had no problems for those first few days.
I tried to FORGET DEVICE. Worked the first time, again when desktop override, but then stops working again and get same error message.
Only change was that I added another email account to the phone (mobile me account).
The main reason I went with BB over the other phones from my provider was to sync my calendars and contacts and now it is not working and I have only had the phone a week. So frustrated.

When you're stating the BlackBerry Desktop Software is not able to find the calendar, do you mean it is not listed in the list of Calendars in BlackBerry Desktop manager?
Have you tried forgetting the device and then re-attempting the synchronization?
Go into Device>Forget Device.
Once completed close BlackBerry Desktop Manager and re-open and it will ask you to re-setup the synchronization and all calendars should be listed now.

Archive workflow for FCSrv - does it work that way?

we are installing FCSvr in our shop by the end of the month and after a lot of reading I have a question about an archiving workflow and if that works that way?
We have about 1 TB of files each month that are finished productions that need to go. Deleting is not an option as we often have to go back and do changes, we also want to have the clips somehow (digital, not only on video tape) available for later production. Final Cut Server sounds like a solution, eh?
We have 1x Xserve with FCSvr and 1x Xserve RAID connected via fiber uplink via trunked Gbit ethernet (works for us..)
The idea is to connect a Netgear ReadyNAS 1100 (Link: http://www.netgear.com/Products/Storage/ReadyNAS1100.aspx) with 3x 1TB SATA discs in Raid5 (4th slot is empty) to the network. Name would be archive001.
In FCSvr I would setup a device and tell it to use as archive space.
Once full (or lets say around 80%) I unmount the raid and shut it down, label the 3 drives and stick them in the shelf.
3 new drives go into the Netgear, I setup archive002, make it a new device in FCSvr and tell it to use as archive.
And so on and so forth.
In the case an editor needs an old shot / project (happens not very often, I'm calculating with max 4x a month, excluding if they need data that is on the device that is still mounted because its not yet full) FCSvr tells me where the archived asset is (?), let assume on device archive001.
I go to my shelf, grab the drives, stick them into the Netgear, and the person is able to grab the asset.
What happens if an user requests a restore and the "wrong" raid is mounted? (the device is not there?) Does he get an appropriate error message so that he can tell the IT person to change drives or how does that work?
Cost wise: the Netgear is about 1100 EUR and we already have a unit so in case one fails and we cannot get a new one (any more) we are sort of covered and can copy to a new system.
Each 1 TB is about 90 EUR at the moment, though Raid5 I can use 2 TB out of 3, so I end up paying 270 EUR for 2 TB of archive (plus the initial RAID).
The system is scalable (to some extend).
Future goal (2 years down the line?) would be a Object Matrix setup with Xserves and Promise 12-24 TB RAIDs. But not now (money)..
What do you think?

PS: Data Tape: been there, done that, dont like it (for this purpose, we use data tape e.g. to create "Master" of XDCAM footage) and too inflexible (I actually hope to reuse all the 1 TB drives for the Object MAtrix thing one day).

you might write a pre restore script which checks if your archive volume of choice is available. If not, it can then send an email to your administrator, so that he can make that volume available.

Screen Sharing not working both ways!

I have had screen sharing and back to my mac set up for ages between my mac mini and macbook. It worked fine until now. I can still connect to my laptop from my mac mini, but it doesn't work the other way, and the majority of the time i am using my laptop to connect to my mac mini.

Same thing happening with me. I want to go from my Macbook to Macbook Pro and vis versa. But it will only go from MB to MBP not the other way. I set up both settings to the exact same thing. But nothing is working so far.

Hello pepson93! The Samsung Fascinate is a CDMA only device, which makes it great for use in areas were CDMA signal is available. Unfortunately, the country of Poland does not have CDMA service providers so the Fascinate will not work there. I recommend seeking options for equipment with your local carriers. Best of luck!

How does syncing work...

Search as I might I've been unable to uncover what exactly happens when you sync your iPad to your computer (iMac). For instance is one the Master and the other a Slave? In other words if you have a contact on one but not the other will the contact be added to the device that doesn't have it, or will it be deleted from the one that does have it?

I get no sound when I play games on my iPhone 5s with just the speaker but headphone it works. Music works both ways. What do I need to do so I can hear my game without headphones like I can my music

From your post I understand you're not getting any audio output from your speakers when you're playing games. Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved, please contact Apple Support.

Can't send texts to one particular friend, texts work one-way, phone calls work both way

For about a bit more than a month now, one particular friend (and just one, as far as I can tell) has not been receiving my text messages. He can send me texts messages and we are able to call each other. The texts emitted from my phone however, don't seem to go through. I have no indication that the text has not been delivered (no red exclamation point next to it). This particular person is not using an iPhone for this particular phone number.
I am using an iPhone 4 (32GB) running iOS 7.1.2.
I have tried many different things.
(1) I have checked that this friend was not in my block list. The block list is empty. But even if that person were in my block list, would I be able to receive texts and call? I have tried adding that person to the block list then sending a text. Then removing that person from the block list and texting again.
(2) Yesterday I have restored my phone from a backup. I then erased completely the (long) text exchange between me and this friend, waited for the phone to process the deletion and tried again to send a text. I then deleted the entire contact information of this friend. And then I texted the phone number.
None of these steps have worked. I'm very puzzled.
Has anyone ever been confronted to an issue like this one?

This friend has an iPhone and I can iMessage him on his other phone numbers (he has three). For a short time the Sim card attached to this phone number was inside an iPhone and we did iMessage each other but that was almost a year ago (April 2014). That sim card is now in an ordinary phone (not a smartphone, not an iPhone). We reverted back to texting for a long while. It only began to act strangely on January of this year.
On that friend's contact card, 2 of the numbers (the ones attached to his iPhone) have blue bubbles next to them. The number I can't send texts to doesn't have that blue bubble - meaning that the number doesn't have iMessage capabilities, right?

ICloud won't sync calendar both ways

I have iCloud syncing my calendars between 6 devices. If I add a new appointment on my Macbook Pro, the appointment shows up everywhere immediately. If I type in a new event on my iPhone, it shows up on all devices, EXCEPT my Macbook Pro.
Any ideas anyone?

Range partitioning does not work the way I thought it would

I have a table that is range partitioned by number.
The number represents a date field of the form: YYYYMMDDHH24
However, there are extra values on the end of the field that represent an exact datestamp so a record looks like
20071102100000001
What I found in my tests is that if I have a partition based on range based on the following:
values less than (2007110210)
Any records inserted with a length greater than what is above automatically go to the future partition. It does not make sense that I would have to add another column and then do a substr on this field for just the first 10 characters to get them to go to the correct partition.
???? I am at a bit of a loss.

If you a column storing a timestamp you should use the timestamp or date datatype, not something else!!! Not only it makes not sense but you will have a lot of problems with that. To name only two: not consistent data and misleading the query optimizer.
As you defined, since 20071102100000001 is greater than 2007110210 (i.e. not less then), I don't see why do you expect something else.

Hi icloud is asking me to verify using a very old email address that I no longer have access to. Apple are acknowledging me on a different email, so how come icloud have a very old one?

This site didn't say anything about one wrong ID, but only talks about changing the Apple ID. If it didn't work the first time why should it work now?
