Does TC support 2 wireless networks?

Is it possible to have a Wireless Network and a Guest Network on the same TC Dual-Band device?
- I got my Wireless Network working. SSID: MyHome
- I setup the Guest Network (wireless). SSID: MyGuest
- Now when I tried to connect to my MyHome with my MBP it fails. Guest Network still works.
Is this configuration supported? I couldn't get it to work on my old TC and just got a replacement from Apple and it fails in the same way. Am I confusing dual-network with dual-band support?

I'm at the point where I can make this work/fail with one check-box.
When I have both a "Wireless" and "Guest Network" running. I am unable to get to the "Wireless" network. I select the "Wireless" network's SSID and after entering a password get "Connection timeout". If I do the same for "Guest Network" I can connect.
If I deselect "Enable Guest Network" and reboot, I am able to enter a password and connect to the "Wireless" network.
If I re-enable "Enable Guest Network" and reboot, I am no longer able to access the "Wireless" network. I get the error "Connection timeout" again.
Detailed configuration:
Wireless tab:
Wireless Network Name: Big Sur
Radio Mode: Automatic
Radio Channel Selection: Automatic
Wireless Security: WPA/WPA 2 Personal
Wireless Password: Set
Guest Network tab:
Enable Guest Network: Monterey
Guest Network Security: WPA/WPA2 Personal
Guest Network Password: set

Does apple support video tron network? What are the networks that we support that is not in the united states like AWF network.

Not sure where you are located, but what ever apps you see on the main menu. Apart from that you can use airplay (if the developer has enabled) or mirroring via a compatible IOS device/computer.

Have you asked your mobile phone operator to turn on roaming for you? and if you have you will need to turn on DATA ROAMING on the iPhone by going to SETTINGS > GENERAL > MOBILE DATA and turn on DATA ROAMING. You should then be able to see the various Indian Networks listed in SETTINGS > CARRIER and be able to make/receive calls.
If you are in India and didn't ask for Roaming to be activated on your mobile account you're stuck until you return to the UK.
    OR
If you have a 'locked' phone that is tied to the UK operator then you will need to find a phone shop that unlocks iPhones but beware this invalidates any Apple Warranty. If you are still in the UK then phone the mobile operator and ask then to unlock your iPhone which they usually do if its not in a contract with them or at the end of the contract period.
Hope that helps a little, Andrew

  • Hp6600 does NOT recognize my wireless network IN THE WIZARD

My hp6600 does not recognize my wireless network. It recognizes others in the area but not mine I have tried the network wizard several time and the online help but it's not working.  I bought this machine especially so that I can print wirelessly.  It would cost me $100 to have someone from Geek come in, that's ridiculous.  i should be able to set up my own printer. I set up a hp8600 at home.

    Hi @fedup22,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I am sorry to hear that your HP Officejet 6600 is not recognizing your wireless network, but I am happy to help!
For further assistance, I will need to know some additional information:
If the printer is able to make copies.
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
In the meantime, please see the following:
This printing guide, Print Jobs are Stuck in the Print Queue as it address the fact the printer is offline.
Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection. (Once established this guide will help you maintain the connection.)

  • HT4259 Airport Utility 6.1 does note show "extend wireless network" option.  How do I find the feature

I have an airport extreme and the utility is 6.1.  I also have an airport express.  I'd like to use the airport express to extend the WiFi.  The "extend the wireless network" option does not show up in the Airport Utility 6.1.  How do I go about finding that option?  Is it something that doesn't need to be checked in Airport Utility 6.1?

I'm having the same issuse, the only work around I have found is by using an older version of airport utility

  • Apple TV does not find AirportExpress wireless network

    Hi all,
this problem is driving me nuts, maybe someone here can help.
At the moment I have an Apple TV in our living room. There is an AirportExpress device in the same room, which is creating a wireless network (WAP/WAP2 Personal, name "BNK") and is connected to a DSL modem.
All computers (my MacBook Pro, my wife's Sony laptop) easily find the wireless network, whether they are in the living room or in any other room of our apartment.
The Apple TV, however, never finds our network - it gives me a list of many other networks from our neighbors, but our own network is never in the list. This even happens when the Apple TV is about 2 meters away from the AirportExpress.
Does anyone have any idea why the Apple TV is not picking up the network signal? Do I need to have a stronger WLAN access point because of potential interferences from the other networks? But why are the computers working fine, then?
    Thanks a lot and cheers,
    Bastian

I see this post has remained unanswered. But as I have a similar problem I am hoping someone will answer.
I recently bought an Apple TV and hooked it up to my Sony 46" HD LCD TV.
    My desktop is an iMac
The internet connection is through the Airport express conected to an ADSL touter.
The wireless network is working and I have access to internet through my iMac or other laptops.
While installing AppleTV it detects my network but seems does not connect to internet.
As a result while it synchronises with iTunes it fails to download from the internet directly. I am unable to upgrade to the latest version or play youTube or images from my mobileMe account.
I have tried figuring out the problem but unable to do so. Thanks for your help.

  • Does everyone on the wireless network have access to the shared files?

I just bought a 1TB time capsule today. I am backing up my files as I type. I also used it to set up a wireless network in my apartment. This wireless network will be used by my roommate as well.
In addiction to backing up my files using Time Machine, I am also going to use my new TC as an external hard drive to store movies, music, photos, and documents. I would like my roommate to have access to the wireless internet, but I do NOT want them to have access to my files.
I noticed that my TC shows up in the SHARED section in my finder. Does this mean that, because my roommates have access to my wireless network, that they have access to my files through the TC shared drive? If so, how can I protect my files?

I found this in the Airport Help. It works with the TC drive and any other drives attached.
To set up a user account:
Open AirPort Utility, located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder on a computer using Mac OS X, and in Start > All Programs > AirPort on a computer using Windows.
Select the device you’re setting up, and then click Manual Setup. Enter the password if necessary.
Click Disks in the toolbar, and then click File Sharing.
Choose "With accounts" from the Secure Shared Disks pop-up menu, and then click Configure Accounts.
Click Add , enter the user name, and then give the user a password.
Choose Read and Write, Read Only, or Not Allowed from the File Sharing Access pop-up menu, depending the access privileges you want to assign for this user.

  • Printers supporting Radius wireless networks

Do any printers exist that support Radius wirless networking and Mac OS X 10.8??

Simply reconfigure your Airport Express to either use for airtunes only or to extend the range of the existing network. This effectively connects the Airport Express to your main wireless router as a basic access node rather than a separate router creating its own network.
If you consult the User Guide that came with your Airport Express you'll find additional information on how to setup an Express to simply extend a local wireless network rather than function independently.

  • [SOLVED]Broadcom BCM4313 does not detect all wireless networks

    EDIT:
I'm really sorry to the Arch forum users and to the admins for posting such easy problems which i could have fixed myself.
To solve this what i did was to change the channel on the router and its 802.11 mode. I turned my main machine on and it was doing the same as the machine i posted here first so it was two machines and so probably not a problem of the pc but of the router.
I don't know if this means my network cards are just bad or something else but it works now.
    Hello,
I'm having a problem with the computer on the title. When i try connect the computer over wifi(to my own network), it doesn't "see" my network. Sees all my neighbours networks but not mine. It was working till a couple of days ago.

I tried changing the encryption on the router from WPA&WPA2 to WEP and to WPA and i from TKIP&AES to simply AES but to no avail.
I also tried loading different modules still related to b43(like the legacy one) and installing the firmware from AUR.
Has this happen to anyone else?
I'm still trying to do this on the live iso so i can try as much stuff as needed and then i can just reboot and then do just what i need:)
    thank you

ewaller wrote:It sounds like your regulatory domain is not set correctly.   Not all channels are legal to use in all countries.  Perhaps your router had been using a channel legally, but your computer is unaware of its location, and was therefore ignoring the channel.  Also, I assume you are in the right band.  I don't know about your system, but thus ancient laptop does not work in the 5GHz band.
Thank you for shedding some light on the subject, but actually the channels the router permits are through 2.412 to 2.472 (more less, i think that writing here 13 frequencies wont help anyone ), and what i did was look on my working laptop, the channel for the networks around the house and select on my router a channel that wouldn't be the same, but i think the router has a built in tool to do this.

  • PowerBook G4 12" does not reconnect to wireless network on wake

Since upgrading to Leopard on Friday my PowerBook does not automatically reconnect to my wireless network. I have to manually select the network from the AirPort menu and re-enter my WEP key, however on doing so the dialogue box in which I entered the password reports "Connection Timeout" (after about half a second - so it doesn't look like it waiting for anything to timeout). Despite this the connection to the network is established and if I cancel the dialogue box the connection remains until I put the laptop to sleep.
I'm connecting to a Netgear router and did not experience these problems with Tiger.
I've read some of the other posts on a similar topic, and have already done the following:
    1. Installed the Login & Keychain update - has not solved the problem
    2. Checked for the file /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAirport2.kext - I did an Erase & Install so this file doesn't exist
Is anyone else having this issue? It seems slightly different to other similar problems reported.

there seem to be ubiquitous problems with wireless networking for everyone. I can confirm for my laptop and my dads laptop (both 12" powerbook g4s) that the wireless network dies after loading a couple pages online or downloading a large file. If you press option click on the airport menu it shows you the transmit rate. It steadily drops from 54 to 1 then no connection when its about to die. I just installed the update and it hasn't died on me yet, but I expect it to. I'll post back in 10 minutes to tell you if its still alive.

  • HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw does not connect to wireless network

I recently upgraded my wireless network router. I had my HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw connected to the old wireless network router. The SSID is password protected (WPA2)
I need to connect the printer to the new wireless network router. However, neither the control panel nor blue wireless connection button provide any way for me to do this. The manual has not walked through a way to do this.
There really needs to be a simple, no-nonsense way to just connect the printer to the wireless network. How do I connect this printer to a new wireless network?

    Hi @shakayumi ,
I see that you are having issues configuring the printer on the new router. I would like to help.
    Restore the printer's network defaults.
    Touch the Setup button. (wrench)
    Select Network Setup Menu.
    Then select Restore Defaults.
Print out a configuration report to make sure the IP address is 0.0.0.0 and the SSID is cleared.
    Printing a Configuration Report.
Here are the directions for setting up the printer through the Wireless Direct to configure the printer over the network as Infrastructure.
Turn the Wireless Direct on the printer.
On the printer touch the setup button, (wrench) then select network setup menu, select wireless menu, select wireless direct and turn it on.
On the computer, in the bottom right corner click on the wireless icon and select the printer from the list to connect to. Then open Internet Explorer and type in the IP address (192.168.223.1) for the printer in the address bar.
This will load the embedded web server for the printer.
Select the networking tab, wireless on the left hand side.
Fill out all your network information, select infrastructure, select your network name, put in password and type of encryption. Apply settings.
Click on the wireless icon and connect back to your network name.
Print out a configuration report to make sure the IP address is valid. (192... or 10....)
Now create a new port, this will save you the time, instead of uninstalling and reinstalling the software.
Go to Start, Devices and Printers, right click the printer, go to Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.
Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.
Type in the proper IP address for the printer.
Make sure the printer is online.
    Test the printer.
If you are still having issues, then try this method:
If you have a Ethernet cable, connect it from the printer to the router.
Wait about a minute, print the configuration page to see if you get a IP address.
Then type the IP address into Internet Explorer's address bar to bring up the printer's web page.
Select the networking tab, wireless on the left hand side.
Fill out all your network information, select infrastructure, select your network name, put in password and type of encryption. Apply settings.
    Then disconnect the Ethernet cable.
Then wait a minute to see if you get a wireless light on the printer, print the configuration page and check the IP address again. Then type the IP address into Internet Explorer's address bar to bring up the printer's web page.
If the printer is back on the network, create a new port. Steps are listed above.
Make sure the printer is online.
    Try and print now.

  • Airport Express (1st generation) does not reconnect to wireless network after router is cycled on/off

    Operating System: os x 10.9.1
    Airport Utility 6.3.2
    Airport Express 802.11n (1st generation)
Linkus router: Model WRT310Nv2, Firmware Version 2.0.01
Motorola Cable Modem: Model 2210-02, Firmware 7.7.3r5
The Airport Express (AE) is setup to join my wireless network using Airport Utility.  A printer is connected to the AE with a USB cable.  After the setup the AE light is green and the printer can be accessed over the wireless network.
The problem starts if the router is cycled off/on.  Now the AE will not rejoin the wireless network and there is a non-flashing amber light.  If the power to the AE is cycled off/on the AE reconnects to the wireless network.
This is about as handy as a screen door on a submarine.
Is it possible to see the setting of the AE the same way the modem and router settings can be accessed?   Can this issue be fixed?

If they send you a replacement printer it will have ink tanks with it.  You can store the ink tanks from your current printer and use them later on you "new" printer if you wish.  Store them nozzle-up so they do not leak.

  • Windows does not connect to wireless network on startup! Please help!.

Hello. A few days ago i watched a tutorial on youtube on how to remove the red "x" problem over my internet icon, by deleting a file called "Config" in "Network" by opening"Regedit". I know see that I never should
have done that. I did that, and after that every time when I start up my computer it will not automatically connect to my wireless network as it did before i deleted that "Config" file.
Anoyone out there that know how I can fix this?. Thanks.

    Hi,
Before we edit the registry, have we performed a backup of the registry files?  Do we have any backup available before the changes? If yes, please take use of the backups.
Besides, could you please have a share for which tutorial you have followed? Or please share with the full registry path?
Have you tried to reconfigure the wireless network settings with your laptop?
