Does the 10.4.4 Update help the line problem?

I am currently at work - but I have this last hope that the software update will fix the problem. Has anyone tried it yet?
My current status is that after talking to apple (a product speicalist) before xmas they said they were working on the problem and that no replacement, or fix would currently fix the issue. They said to call back in early january.
So I called back last week and talked to someone different who swore up and down that they could replace the lcd and that would fix the issue. I explained that I was concerend that this wouldn't fix the issue, that this conflicted with everything else I had heard and been told and maybe he was mis-diagnosing. He then assured me multiple times that they would keep replacing the screen until it didn't have this problem. So I am waiting for a new screen to arrive into my local Apple Service Provider and am going to get it replaced. -> But what are the chances that it will help?

Same here...installed 10.4.4...no dice.
I called Apple back up and was told they could replace the screen and it would resolve the problem. They knew I had already done this back in November, but claimed to have solved the issue since then. Who knows...mine is going back to Apple to give the replacement a shot though once I get back into town next Monday.
If that doesn't fix it, I'm taking someone's red stapler.

    Update: After 2 hours on the freeking on with apple care... i got nothing, every person i talked to acted like they have never even heard of the line problem. So yeah there was no way of me getting a MacBook.
    They did say i could send my PB in to see if i could get the screen fixed. I really dont want to because i cant live a long long time with out my powerbook and then get it back weeks later and NOTHING fixed.
    BTW - it was a little funny with every one using the term MacBook, They would mess it up and stuff and even when one of the person was talking about it i was thinking "Mac Book" as in a book the people look in to look up specs and problems and stuff.
    Also one person said they have allready sold over 100,000 and im like "wow they only went on sale a few hours ago and its not shipping for another month.

    I unwittingly applied BIS PF.H back in August and it changed some of the Daily Business Intelligence responsibilities to point to the Oracle Fusion Business Intelligence product. Since I can't roll back to an August backup, I'm trying to find the menu name that the "Line Manager" responsibility points to before 11i BIS PF.H. If you're on PF.G or earlier, could someone please go in as sysadmin and query the Line Manager responsibility and tell me the name of the menu it's attached to?

    Thanks! Just in case you're looking, in PF.H Oracle changed the Line Manager responsibility to point to the OBIEE functionality. If you want the DBI functionality you need to use the HR Line Manager responsibility instead. It doesn't use the OBIEE functionality.

    I have changed the int to every possible number and it just won't work for me what am I doing wrong

    When you drew your head you specified g.drawArc( 100, 45, 80, 80, 0, 360);
    What you are really saying is:
    a) position the circle inside an imaginary rectangle with the top left corner at (100, 45) and make the width of the rectangle 80 and the height 80.
    b) the center of this rectangle is
    x = 100 + 80/2 = 140
    y = 45 + 80/2 = 85
    c) therefore draw a circle using (140, 85) as the center point (which is where I started your nose)
    Add the following line to your program and you will see how the head fits into the rectangle:
    g.drawRect(100, 45, 80, 80);

    The Press hates/loves Apple.
    Anything that involves Apple products gets seized upon and blown out of proportion.
    The obsessive stalkery following of rumors, pouncing on perceived flaws or spreading FUD about a product because a few people post stuff in the support forums.
    It's very predictable and rather disgusting.

    There are patches from Apple for BASH running on Lion, Mountain Lion, and Mavericks.  No patch has been released for Snow Leopard so far.
    Unless you are running a public web server or are permitting open remote login using SSH, you should not have a serious risk.

  • Will BIOS update help wtih sound problem?

    I have a problem getting sound working with linux on a 3000 (an N200 0769 in my case) that many other people have reported: sound only works with ACPI off.
    I asked for help on the Mandriva forums and was told to check if there are any relevant BIOS updates. the readme for the latest BIOS does not list any changes to do with either sound or ACPI so it appears unlikely.
    However, my BIOS reports itself (during bootup) as 2.03, and it appears to be 68ET31WW. This does not appear in the summary of changes in the readme which jumps from 1.02 to 2.02!
    Does anyone know what has changed between 2.03/68ET31WW and the latest (3.03/68ET35WW)?

    It hasn't helped my CMX 3200C2.. same issues as you describe.. no joy at anything other than slow...

    A Line manager submits the requisition on electronic form. The data submitted by the manager updates the Requisition. Then Recruiter added the some more information on the Requisition.
    The question is that does the Line Manager able to see the additional information provided by the Recruiter on the Requisition.

    This is how it works. In MSS the manager creates the requisiton request and fills certain details. Then it is forwarded to the recruiter. The recruiter then completes and publishes the requisition.
    After this point the manager can view applications/candidates assigned to the requisition but not requisitions.
    The requisition request is an HCM Processes and Forms frame work and it can be found in the UWL of the manager.

    Your advice did not help me. I also installed 10.7.4 combo but the situation is the same.
    my internet connection is ok, mail is ok, but app store after 3 resets does not recognize my ID and it says "connection is not possible". Why?     I expect that you mean some version of iPad.
    First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
    Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
    If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
    At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
    If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

    The button response has changed. 
    Short press : sleep
    Medium press (2-3 sec) : restart, shutdown, sleep dialog
    Long press : force shutdown. (Same as before)

    The mailbox list is divided into categories with headings in caps, such as ON MY MAC. When you hover the cursor over one of those headings (except for MAILBOXES), you should see the word Show or Hide on the right. Click Show. The  MAILBOXES category can't be hidden.
    In each category, the mailboxes are arranged in groups, such as Inbox. To the left of each group is a small disclosure triangle. If the triangle points to the right, click it so that it points down.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
