Does the 8GB touch get the OS upgrade if it was sold as 3G?

The way I understand it, the 8GB model of the Ipod touch was unchanged from 2G to 3G. Since the iOS5 page says the upgrade is for 3G Ipod Touch, will my ipod get the upgrade if its 8GB? Or does it count as a 2G? Or am I not understanding something?

No. You have a 2G iPod. 3G iPod were only manufactured in 32 and 64 GB models.

Thanks for your reply. I went to Settings and About Phone, however, there was a "System updates" that showed a history and a "Check for new software update" key. I tried that and it returned with Your phone is up to date. I guess I'll have to wait for Verizon to send me an update.

after submitting the online form how long does it take to get the code emailed from Apple?

sent a complain at around 9:30 PM (PH time) and got a reply at around 11PM. Got the code at around 1PM today.

Zen Touch Gets The Sh

New Zen 20gb? what is this? oo la la you can put stickers on it, what is this? Creative Stick to just afew players instead of making a bunch of others. Meet the demands of the Curent players such as Zen Touch Firmware?! Hmm ya that would be an idea! I find it had to believe that since Q no one has talked about it and no new news has been published? What that tells me is that The Zen Touch got the shaft. Why is creative doing this? Obviously they are not thinking clearly. Dont start new things without finishing what has already been started. Zen Touch=Good Player why creative has semi-abbonded it beats me.

Firstly, both these players are getting updates (Touch and Xtra).
The original date of November 2004 was given by Microsoft, so you have to wonder if this was correct anyway. No date came from Creative to back this up.
The second date of end of Q was given by Creative, and presumably other pressures caused it to slip, by quite a lot.
It's the old problem of giving information vs. not giving it. It's been discussed in other threads, but if Creative give a date and it slips some people get annoyed. If they remain completely tight lipped about an update then other people think they aren't any future updates and say the player has been abandoned etc. I guess no-one realises that the two complaining camps are nothing new. I saw the same thing over the last 4 years, right back to the NJB, which arguably had more updates than any of the players to-date.
My personal opinion is that I buy the player as it is, and except for major bugs, I don't *expect* updates. If they do come out though, and have new features (and no new bugs) all is good and it encourages me to stick with the company I bought the player from.
I still think it would be good if Creative were more frank about the updates. So rather than giving us wooly dates for the upcoming Touch/Xtra firmware (and others) they tried to give us a week by week update. Honestly it doesn't do much harm, at least above and beyond what's been done already in PR terms. Unfortunately a lot of the tight lippedness comes down to company confidentiality worries, whether warranted or not (I saw the same thing when working on the "inside" of a large software company).

Will the 6G Nano Get the software upgrade that is in New Nanos?

Just curious if anyone knows if the Nano 6g is Going to get the new softare that is included in the newly released Nano. I dont think this would be unheard of for apple, since Many of the Ipod touches received the I OS updates of the newer IPOD Touches, although I beleive the first one was for a nominal $5 fee. The new watch faces would be great, although, im not sure about the new Icon screen with only 1 icon on it. But the new fitness features seem nice too. however, none of these features would be any reason to upgrade my current 6g, as I think the new one is a 6G with minor software enhancements. Im not even sure what they are calling it? anyone know if they call it a 7g now? Is this really 7g?

It depends on who fixes it. Assuming that the drive needs to be replaced, you could have Apple do it (most expensive), a local computer repair shop (less expensive) or do-it-yourself (least expensive).
There's really no 'fixing' a hard drive - it either works or it doesn't. What leads you to believe that your drive needed repair (or replacement)?

Well the error message is in Swedish but says: The installation program database is damaged. Please contact the Adobe support (which is a hard thing to do!!). I use Windows 7 Home Premium with service pack 1.

When you purchase an HD video on a supported device or computer, only HD video will be downloaded. To download the SD version, you need to download the video again from your Purchased page. Where does the ACS server get the DNS info for IP pools?

I am trying to change the DNS servers that my VPN users are assigned from the IP pools on the ACS server. Where does the IP pools get the DNS server information. I have changed the DNS Ips on the windows server and rebooted. But the VPN clients are still being assigned the old DNS servers.

ACS ip pools do not push DNS server information
It is either being forwarded from VPN concentrator group setup or
it is being send from ACS user/group setup > Radius(VPN 3000) attributes > [026/3076/005] Primary-DNS.

I don't know which country you're in, but in the US, carriers limit the amount of download for a single file when using 3G. Have you tried wifi?

You may need to reset PRAM/NVRAM.
First, check that the jack is clean. Put some alcohol on a plug and insert it a few times. See if that helps.
is your output both digital and analog? If digital, is the red laser light visible in the socket? Do not look directly into the socket when checking.
If all else fails try a PRAM reset:

I called Apple. The problem was caused by settings in Mission Control. After changing all 4 of the Hot Keys (if that's the proper term) shown in the bottom half of the Mission Control window in System Preferences to "-" by clicking on the drop down menus, the problem went away. Apple's help was excellent!
