Does the app download give you the option to erase your memory?

Looking to completely clear my hard drive and start from scratch.
Typically doing an OSX install from a disk gives you the option to either transfer your settings and files from the old OSx to the new, or to wipe your memory and start over.
Since this is an app install, with no alternative startup disk, am i still able to clear my hard drive?
I'd like to save time rather than order a disk through the mail.
Thanks

Ask the question once.
You boot into the ML Recovery disk by holding down the command-r keys and proceed from there.
