Does the AS2 adpater is included by default in the SOA suite 11g or BAM

Hi,
I wanted to know that does the AS2 adpater comes by default with the SOA Suite 11g package or with BAM or we do need to have a seperate licensing for the adapter.
Thanks in Advance,
Jignesh

Hello Jignesh,
Oracle B2B (part of Oracle SOA suite 11g) supports AS2 exchange protocol. I don't think you need a separate license for that but still it would be better to confirm it once with your local Oracle Sales representative.
For Oracle B2B related info, please refer -

  • Does license for SOA Suite 11g include application server

I am looking through the SOA 11g release information and it does not appear to include a license for the WebLogic server. Can anyone confirm that I need to license the appropriate WebLogic 11g base to run SOA Suite 11g on separately. I wish I could find a definitive statement about this on the Oracle web site or in documentation.

Good point. There used to be some (licensing) clarity in the sense that Oracle's middleware applications (i.e. things higher in the middleware food chain) required the underlying Oracle stack and thus the embedded license scenario.
Perhaps (and somewhat ironically) the situation gets more cloudy now that OFM is really and truly "hot pluggable" (i.e. in the sense you can run on other vendor or OSS containers for instance).
Architecturally, I respect Oracle's Hot Pluggable stance and think it's the right thing to do, but practically-speaking I always advise use of Oracle's container etc. because that is naturally where the development and most intense QA and support occurs. This is not to say that Oracle doesn't support other hosting options well, only that the laws of physics (still) apply.

  • Does SOA Suite 11g include OSB?

What's the difference between OSB and ESB.
ESB is a component of SOA Suite and it can connect to different services.
OSB has more functions such as dynamic routing and Message Enrichment. If I just buy SOA suite, can I use OSB? Or I must buy OSB if I want to use it in my application which contains SOA components.

I think with SOA suite 11g license, you may use OSB. No need to purchase it seprately. You may refer -

    Thank you for your reply!
The tutorial emphasizes that I need jdk 1.6 update 11 in order to setup.
The newer release of wl server comes with jsk 1.6 update 14.
    When I tried to run:
    setup -jreLoc C:\Oracle\Middleware\home_11gR1\jdk160_14
    no setup screen appeared.
Next, I setup stand alone jdk 1.6 update 11 and add it to path,
but setup -jreLoc C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_11 failed too, since no setup screen appeared
So I uninstalled version 10.3.2, installed 10.3.1 to follow exactly the tutorial specs.
Does one has to pay oracle consulting, in order to have an installation of soa suite up and running for development?

  • Issue with default install of SOA suite under Windows

    Hello,
I installed SOA Suite without error, using the defaults of the Basic Installation.
When I start the SOA Suite, it starts up without error, but reports that ASG is Status=Down
When I try to create an Integration Server in JDeveloper, and test it, everything works, with the exception of the ESB Server:Fail, which in the details is listed as:
    ESB Connection, Not Run
Can anyone explain these behaviors (ASG Status=Down and ESB Connection = Not Run)? Are these normal based on not installing products from the Advanced options? I'm in the process of an evaluation and I don't want to go too far down a path if my system is already somewhat broken.
    Thanks.
    --T
    Thank you very much.

The ASG down is normal - it is not causing the other issue you have.
The JDev integration server connection error (ESB not run) is unfamiliar to me. Make sure you have created the Application Server connection properly (choose standalone). The Test Connection button for the Integration Server connection shows you status for the Application Server, the BPEL Server, and the ESB Server - what does it say for each of these?
    Heidi.

  • Error loading wsdl from the OSB in the SOA Suite over https

    Hi,
We are running SOA Suite 11G R1 PS2. I have created a webservice in the OSB which runs on https://soa-test.myfirm.com/schedule/service/v1. This service works fine. I can test it in the OSB and using SoapUI. Now I want to make use of it in a bpel proces in the SOA Suite so I added the webservice as external reference and pointed it to the the above url. This works...it sees the porttype and all the bindings. But when I want to deploy it, it doesnt compiles and i get the following issue:
Error(19,30): Load of wsdl "https://soa-test.myfirm.com/schedule/service/v1?wsdl" failed
Error(29,89): Cannot find Port Type "{http://www.myfirm.com/wsdl/schedule/service}ScheduleServicePortType" for "ScheduleService" in WSDL Manager
So it seems it cannot load the wsdl. I saw it might be a proxy issue but I dont use a proxy. I can see the wsdl using my browser without proxy settings.
Does anyone know why it cannot load my wsdl?
    best regards,
    H

I looked in the forum and this could be solved by adding the root CA to the trust keystore of the server. My OSB Managed Server and SOA Managed Server are on the same machine (https://sontprs201.myfirm.com:8888). This machine has a certificate of GoDaddy so i have added the GoDaddy-root and GoDaddy-intermediate as trusted certificates to my certs.jks
In the weblogic console I set both the managed servers to point to my certs.jks with the correct password and in OSB managed server i setup the SSL with the correct private key alias.
When i call the OSB service from SoapUI i get the correct 3 certificates back (GD-root, GD-intermediate, sontprs201.myfirm.com), but when I call the OSB service from BPEL I still get the error: Unable to access the following endpoint(s): https://sontprs201.myfirm.com:8888/schedule/service/v1. Unable to find valid certification path.
Does anybody know what I'm missing or how I can debug this?
    Thanks in advance!

  • How is licensed the Oracle Service Bus? wasnt it part of the SOA Suite?

    Why
it is not clear for us how the oracle service bus is licensed, in terms that we thought it was included on the Oracle SOA Suite , we are referring to newer releases
is it licensed a part from the soa suite?
    Thanks!

    thanks!
so just to put it clear, In case in which we are licencing both weblogic an soa suite the enterprise edition the OSB is included on the licence fee right?
    3.2 Oracle Service Bus
Oracle Service Bus is a lightweight SOA integration platform, or "enterprise service bus". Oracle Service Bus includes Oracle SOA Suite Adapters (see Chapter 5, "Oracle Fusion Middleware Adapters").
Oracle Service Bus is licensed as an option to Oracle WebLogic Suite and is also included in Oracle SOA Suite for Oracle Middleware and Oracle Mobile Suite. Users running Oracle SOA Suite for Oracle Middleware on WebLogic Server Basic may not run Oracle Service Bus (see Section 3.5, "Oracle SOA Suite for Oracle Middleware and Oracle BPEL Process Manager Option Licensing with Oracle Internet Application Server").
Prerequisite: A license to Oracle WebLogic Suite is a prerequisite to license and use Oracle Service Bus.

  • Q: is the SOA Suite a mature technology?

A colleaque and I have been playing araound with the SOA suite the last copule of weeks. My colleaue mainly concentrated on the BPEL, while i did the ESB part.
Even though I did some very simple scenarios, it seemd to me that theres a lot of errors/bug. For instance when using native sequencing, you have to manually edit some XML files. Another thing,- I have to deploy my services more than once to make sure it works. Of course this is all new to me - so I'd expected some beginnes difficulties - but never the less - I'm a bit worried about recommending this technology to my manager.
So the question is: does this work or not?
I use the Soa suite 10.1.3.3 on Oracle DB XE.
    Kind regards, Henrik

Another reason to wait for 11g if you want Oracle SOA is problems with upgrading existing processes from 10.1.3.3.0. We used 10.1.2 before and upgraded to 10.1.3.3.0 and had to reduce the number of processes from about 150 to ~30 due to problems with converting projects in JDeveloper and partly changed behaviour of BPEL. Old processes often stopped working and required mostly day per process to debug and fix. We simply couldn't do the converting for 150 days.
Its a pitty though that Oracle doesn't plan to support BPEL 2.0 in 11g, as if they were affraid to touch the original code developed by Collaxa. Does anybody know whether 11g will have better support for WS-* features, like WS-Security in outbound messages (arriving from web service), generation of WS-Policy assertions in wsdl?
Other problems that one needs to take into account when considering 10.1.3.3.0 are:
    - JDeveloper 11g will probably be incompatible with BPEL 10.1.3.3.0, so you will be stuck with JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0, since no newer release of 10.1.3 is planned.
    - in 10.1.3.3.0 propagation of security context into EJB is not functional. Although EJB invocation is supported from BPEL, methods will always execute under the same credentials which defeats the advantages of EJB. Hopefully Oracle will fix this problem in 11g.
    - incompatibility between BPEL 10.1.3.3.0 and Oc4j 10.1.3.3.0 web services when using WS-Security UsernameToken. Oc4j web services with WS-Security cannot be invoked by BPEL without manual editing of oracle web services xml. This editing has to be done every time something is changed in web service since then the xml is overwritten.
    - database connection pool used by BPEL is not periodically checked for "select * from dual", so invalid database connections can be passed to BPEL process. This becomes a problem if you need to gradually restart your DB cluster nodes. I have even noticed once that a DB connection was passed to BPEL which did contain uncomitted data from previous process (ending with exception), which resulted in seeing data that didn't exist in database.

  • Do I need IIS or Task Scheduler for a windows install of the SOA suite

I am currently trying to set a R&D SOA environment up on a windows box. By default these services are disabled when we usually set up our application servers within dev. So do I need IIS and task scheduler to be running on the windows environment when I install the SOA suite?

    Hi,
you do not need the IIS because SOA Suite is shipped with its own Apache.

  • Error while starting the AqAdapter in SOA Suite 11g Admin Console

facing an issue with the AqAdapter(Resource Adapter) in Soa Suite 11g Admin Console.
we go to Deployments --> Select Aq Adapter --> Currently it shows the status as Prepared
Now we try to Start it again --> it comes back with the error message mentioned below
    weblogic.application.ModuleException: weblogic.connector.exception.RAException:
Jndi Name is null or empty. Errors were encountered while performing this operation.
source path on the admin server is mentioned here for this AqAdapter:
    /opt101/app/oracle/SOAD/SOA11gR1/fmw/Oracle_SOA1/soa/connectors/AqAdapter.rar
    deployment plan :
    /opt101/app/oracle/SOAD/SOA11gR1/fmw/Oracle_SOA1/soa/connectors/was/Plan. xml
We check in the Configuration tab --> Outbound Connection Pools -->
here it shows the Group as javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory and under it we have setup
    2 connection pool instances with JNDI names as : eis/AQ/aqSample & eis/aq/B2BAQ
Could someone please help here as to what could be the reason why this error is coming and
    how we could resolve this.
    With Regards & thanks

This is what we have done :
1.Created the JDBC data source & connection pool as below :
    data source name : B2BAQ , JNDI name : jdbc/B2BAQ
    Connection Pool :
URL : taken from the tns entries of the instance
    Driver Class Name : oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
Tested this connection ..it works fine from the Admin Console
2.Then go to Deployments --> AqAdapter -> Configuration tab --> Outbound Connection Pool Group -->
Create a new connection pool instance -- General tab
    connection interface factory : javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory
    JNDI Name : eis/AQ/B2BAQ
Then in Properties tab : Enter the Data Source Name : jdbc/B2BAQ
Then we try to Start the AqAdapter from the Admin Console..it goes into Prepared status.
The error message which comes is mentioned above.
Is there any way we could resolve this ..that would be very helpful
    Regards

  • SOA Suite 10g and SOA Suite 11g? what are the major changes in these two?

    Hi Experts,
I am keen in knowing about Soa Suite 11g. SOA Suite 10g and SOA Suite 11g, BPEL changes? what are the major changes in these two product/tool wise? Is now OSB is part of Soa Suite 11g? it would be helpful for us to know what are the major changes and updates or modifications came in 11g.
    Please share this valuable information.
Is there still any version is in progress from Oracle, which is yet to be officially launched from oracle?

what are the major changes in these two product/tool wise? Few major changes to enlist are that SOA suite 10g was using Oracle Application Server (OC4J) however 11g is on Weblogic and 11g is based on SCA. B2B is now part of SOA suite itself and OSB can share a domain with SOA. You may refer below link to know few more -
    http://blogs.oracle.com/soabpm/2010/03/11gr1_patchset_2_111130_soa_fe.html
Is now OSB is part of Soa Suite 11g? OSB has a separate installer but can share a domain with SOA and SOA-direct binding is also supported now. Refer below link to know more about new features in OSB 11g -

Is there still any version is in progress from Oracle, which is yet to be officially launched from oracle? No major release is planned. Patches for 11g R1 may come.

  • Is XA transactions supported for the SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 on weblogic platfor

There are 2 weblogic domains 1 & 2. Domain 1 hosts the JMS queue and domain 2 hosts the BPEL process. The BPEL process in domain 2 uses JMS adapter to get messages from domain 1. With queues on Weblogic domain 1, is XA transactions supported for the SOA suite 10.1.3.4 BPEL process JMS Adapter on weblogic domain 2?

  • Configure OSB 11g to use the same domain as SOA Suite 11g

    Hi,
A quick question on OSB Installation and extend the weblogic domain created for soa for OSB also. Please guide me what i am following is the correct path.
I followed the soa 11g and osb 11g installation doc from Eric Elzinga blog also checked oracle doc. Am quite confused about the directory structure to cofigure SOA Suite 11g and OSB 11g.
After SOA suite install , I Configure Oracle SOA Suite by following the below path
Run: middleware/wlserver_10.3/common/bin/config.exe (followed the blog ON OSB 11g Installation from Eric Elzinga).
I have seen another path to configure soa suite from oracle doc
    SOA_ORACLE_HOME\common\bin\config.cmd
    eg: E:\oraclehome\11g\middleware\Oracle_SOA1\common\bin\config.cmd
    both directory str are correct?
After OSB installation , to configure OSB , I choose to reuse the SOA Suite domain to extend it with the Oracle Service Bus components. so in that case , is it the right directory structure I am following is
    <Middleware_Home>\oracle_common\common\bin\config.bat.
    eg: E:\oraclehome\11g\middleware\oracle_common\common\bin\config.bat
    Thanks in advance
    jk

Eventually you configure the weblogic domain always (either it is for SOA or OSB or BPM or all), so you should use middleware/wlserver_10.3/common/bin/config.exe

worth asking a sales guy responsible for your account - I'd guess you need to purchase the SOA Suite as one - and can leverage your [existing] DB as dehydration store ..
