Does the back plastic scratch easily?

I just installed a full body InvisibleShield on my 3G iPhone. I ended up taking the rear piece off because it just didn't look good and had air bubbles that would not disappear. I currently just have the front glass covered.
I was wondering if this is enough protection? I like my iPhone without a case so I can see the chrome ring, etc. I was just curious if the black plastic on the back was pretty scratch resistant, or if it scratches a lot? So far it still looks good, but I don't want to take any chances.

It's about the same as the older iPods with the poly carbonate bodies. You put it in your pocket with keys or change, you probably will see scratches . You can buy a product called Apple Sauce to remove all but the deepest. I used it on my macbook until I sold it.

  • Does the mac pro scratch easily?

I was thinking of getting a mac pro but I'm worried that'l itll scartch and break easily. or Dent. Does anyone know for sure?

Yes the case will scratch of it comes in contact with harder surfaces like the sides of the tower tray that hangs under my desk.  Also a gentle press on the the screen panels will show you that they will dent easily.  My guess is that a Mac Pro will go a long time, take a lot of abuse and still work great even though it's scratched and dented.

  • Does the ipad air scratch easily ?

I have the new ipad air and I was wondering does it scratch easily just of typing from the on screen keyboard.  I want to know because I am tempted to buy a screen protector just in case I accidentally scratch while typing essays.
If anyone has any advice or experience on this issue it would be greatly appreciated.
    Many Thanks.

I've been using an iPad air since the forte day of its availability. I do not think it scratches easily. Whether or not to use a screen protector might depend on where and how you use your iPad. With normal home type use I do not think a screen protector is advisable. But if you use your iPad in dusty dirty work environments then I would consider using a screen protector and a heavy duty case.

  • How well does the back of the iPad 4 stand up to scratches?

If you use it just around the house how does the back of the iPad 4 stand up to scratches?

It stands up great to scratches. Dents are another story, but if you treat it carefully it would not get dented. Apple also makes an iPad Smart Case to protect it:

  • Does the back of the iPad mini need protection?

I just got my iPad mini and want to protect it.  Some covers go over the front only, and others also cover the back.  Does the back need protected?  Does it scratch easily?

I've had an iPad 2 for almost a year and a half. The back has never scratched in all this time. I do take care of my iPad by not setting it down on hard surfaces and never dragging it across a hard surface. If you take care of your device no back cover is necessary but if you use it in harsher environments or don't make the effort to take care of it a good cover might be a great idea.

  • Hi Friends... I'm trying to delete a back-up file on mu TC but I get the message "The operation could not be completed because the item "bands" is in use. I'd like to start the Back from scratch, could help me out with deleting the current file?

    Hi Friends...
I’m trying to delete a back-up file on mu TC but I get the message “The operation could not be completed because the item “bands” is in use. I’d like to start the Back from scratch, could help me out with deleting the current file?

Sorry, I am very confused. I asked the following question....
Is this the only backup file on your Mac, or do you have other backup files and data on the Time Capsule disk?
The answer that you gave was....
    This is the only one
    Now you are saying that....
But I have lots of other files on Time Capsule! The back up file is only one of them.
    Can you clarify, please?

I'm having the same issue on the 3Gs.  I get a message "an error occurred while backing up this phone (-43)."  It tells me if I continue the contents of the phone while be deleted.  Is it safe to continue and restore from my current backup?  I can do a manual backup without any issues.

  • Does the click wheel scratch?

I've had an iPod nano for 2 months now, and it has been fully covered with a full body protector, so it is basically scratch free. But the clickwheel has been very hard to use and it gets very annoying having it covered. I'm thinking about cuting out the clickwheel part. But, I just want to know, does the click wheel scratch? I'm aware that the center button scratches but I don't care. I just mean the circular donut part.

Not from what I can see compared to the scared look of the rest of my Nano.

  • Why does the back arrow just reload the same page most of the time

why does the back arrow just reload the same page most of the time
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often
== most of the time since I installed it

    Hi Keith.
This is probably a normal behavior that's induced by the way pages are done. Can you provide a link to a page where this happens?
For example, wikipedia articles often have links that lead to sections of the article and not to actually different pages, as you may know. If you click the Back button, Firefox will lead you to the section of the page you were looking at when you clicked that link. Is this perhaps what you're talking about?
AJAX pages (i.e. pages that take advantage of heavy duty javascript code and server side technologies) often have troubles like these. It's very hard to prevent this from happening from the browsers' point of view, but Mozilla is trying to find a way for Firefox 4 (at least like time I checked they were). So using the back and forth buttons in gmail will probably be troublesome.

  • HT5262 how long does the back up take?

How long does the back up take?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
It depends of the space your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad has to back up on iCloud. You can see what's backed up in Settings > iCloud > Storage and Backup > Manage Storage, and select the backup, so you will be able to choose what you want to back up. The device will back up automatically when it's connected to the power adapter

  • Can the back of the iPad mini scratch easily?

I have recently bought a iPad mini and have bought the Smart Cover. However as it doesn't protect the back, I was wondering. Can it starch and if so how easily?

Or there are thin cases out there that can protect your device without adding much bulk. In fact I think Zagg even has back of the device 'screen protectors'....so to speak. A film that you put on the back of your device to protect it.

  • Why is the glass get scratched so easily..  they should have told us before we buy that the glass would scratch easily.. and the back of it.. the black one that is.

apples needs to be more specific.. and alot of people had been complainning about the scratch apple should do somethign about it..

Not sure what you mean by "scratch easily".  I've never had an issue with scratching the screen on any smart phone I've owned.
Everyone that I've ever met with a cosmetically damaged phone was extremely rough on their phones and realistically should have kept them in a case.
Maybe you're just rougher on devices than most.  Have you considered a case or at least a screen protector?

  • MSI GT70 Dragon Edition, Plastic Scratches easily?

After several weeks of using this laptop some plastic covering around the keyboard is peeling off already so i decided to remove it. After a week i noticed that that are already some Scratches around the Keyboard if you can see yours,, it's the black boarder covering up the Whole Keyboard and also the Black plastic matterial covering the Monitor. I also see some scratches on the Touch bar, but i found out that there's a small film covering it up so no problem with that. My only concern is Does this laptop scratches easily? I'm quite disappointed  with the Plastic finish, My late ASUS G74SX's finish is far more Premium than my Dragon Edition. I'm still trying to look around the corner of that Plastic around the Keyboard if there's such thing as thin plastic covering it.. So please share your experience here. if you're experiencing this too. Thanks

@mike_cruz00, MSI is trying hard to offer very good performance wise laptops at those prices and therefore it becomes cheap regarding case and other. For example for GE 2012 series there is very cheap and glossy varnished plastic that it ruins design. Scratches, fingerprints and dust was making me crazy.
Therefore I suggest you to do what I did to mine yesterday and now feel happy. You need to cover those plastic around keyboard and maybe some more up to touch panel by vinyl carbon fiber. Don't worry that your case around keyboard is angled and curved because hot air makes vinyl wear anything like it was born there.
Vinyl costs like 3-4 bucks and it will be enough to cover 5 such areas. If you need more info just ask.
Here is my photo (sorry for quality).

  • Why does the back light on my Tour keep going in and out?

All of a sudden (over the 4 or 5 days) my battery is draining very quickly.  I take my phone off the charger at 8:30am and by the time I am driving home from work @ 5:00pm the battery is completely dead.
I also just noticed that there is something wrong with the back light dimming.
You know how if you don't touch your phone for a long period of time (mine automatically locks) then the back light dims slowly to black.  My phone doesn't light up again until you touch a button or do something to the phone.
Since I have been having battery problems I noticed that after prolonged none use my phone dims to black and then immediately lights back up again on its own. And it continuously does this all day long, which is why I think it is killing my battery.
Anyone know why this is happening?  I tried turning the phone off for awhile and then back on....nothing seems to help.
