Does the built-in 2.1 speaker system have a subwoofer?

The spec page claims "Built-in 2.1 speaker system" but doesn't the .1 denote a subwoofer?
If so where is such a typically large speaker reside?

My suggestion to work around this problem would be to hook up an Airport Express. The AE also has an optical out the same as your iMac. As long as your wireless connection is robust enough you should be able to stream from your iMac to your AE and then have the optical cable connect between your AE and your DAC, which then connects to your Integrated Amp/Receiver/Pre-Amp (depending on your system configuration).
I assume because you are using the optical out and connecting to an external DAC that you are looking for a high level of Audio quality ?

Can a spyware be used against an iPhone or does the built-in antivirus protect us?

In a recent research (link below) it was established that many repressive governments have used a spyware program called Remote Control System (RCS) that was developed by a company called Hacking Team to spy on and target activists.
My question is: can this spyware and similar ones really be used against my iPhone or does the built-in antivirus actually protects me?

The report you cited makes no mention of iPhone or iOS, and the exploits cited involve the use of "Adobe Flash in Word document" with an .exe file payload. Such exploits are nothing new. Since neither Adobe Flash nor .exe files run on iOS, the report's applicability to iPhones is nil.
Similar "research" and its many variants often describe a method by which malicious software can be installed on an iPhone by altering its firmware. Doing so is commonly referred to using the catchall "jailbreak" term and cannot be accomplished without physical possession of the iPhone.
Short of physical possession of your iPhone nothing remotely resembling what is often portrayed in popular media can be accomplished. It's all Hollywood B.S. Despite that fact, many people desperately want to believe otherwise.
On the other hand physical possession of an iPhone for an amount of time sufficient to modify its firmware, several minutes at least, makes literally anything possible. If an iPhone must pass from its manufacturer to an intermediate entity, one of the 21 alleged "government users" of the subject software perhaps, prior to an end user taking final possession of it, I suppose it can be a legitimate concern. If you suspect that occurred, restoring the iPhone as a new device will remove any alterations, but it could also render the iPhone permanently inoperable. Either outcome will eliminate any uncertainty.

Does the Built-in Windows FTP Client Support a Secure Connection?

I have set up Server 2008 IIS w/ FTP. I set the SSL setting to require a secure connection. However, I can't connect to the FTP server from the built-in Windows FTP client. I CAN get it to work in FileZilla after modifying my connection properties.
Does the built-in Windows FTP client support secure connections? I received a request to set this up so our internal employees can share files with external customers. Many times our customers are unable to install any kind of third party software on their
computers.

Does the built in firewall work with other cards

Hi,
First post and probably a dumb one, but couldn't find an answere: does the built in firewall (MSI 7030) work exclusively with the built in NIC? I am using a WiFi Netgear MA111 dongle - but couldn't force the firewall to work with it. It does work fine with the built in NIC but I don't want to drag the cable through my flat.....
BTW: great forum, as I switched from Abit NF7S to the MSI K8N - i started to use this one and found some really great ideas!!!

You have 30 days from when you download it, but when you then start watching it you have 48 hours (24 if your account is US based) to finish watching it before it expires.

First, check to see that the two-sided printing accessory is showing as installed:
1. Click the Apple icon on the top bar, to the far left
2. Click System Preferences
3. Click Print & Fax (10.6.8 and Earlier) or Print & Scan (10.7.x)
4. Click to select your printer (HP Photosmart C310) from the list on the left
5. Click the Options & Supplies button on the right
6. Click the Driver tab
7. Look for a line item that says "HP Two-sided Printing Accessory (Duplexer)", and make sure it has a check mark to the left of it.
Next, here are the steps to print two-sided:
The following is an example of the print workflow I use - it is just the order of menus/buttons/settings that you go through when setting up a print job.
1. Open a document to print
2. Click File --> Page Setup (If Page Setup is available, Safari doesn't usually have this option).
3. Under Format For: select the specific printer (Sometimes this will default to "Last Used Printer").
**By specifying the printer, you enable the driver-specific options for that product.
4. Select the Paper Size, then Click Ok
5. Click File --> Print
**Depending on the application, you may see a condensed driver window. Look for a down arrow or show details button to expand to the full size driver window.
6. Depending on which version of Mac OS X you are using, the two-sided option will either be:
- A check box towards the top of the driver window (or alternately, a selection within the Layout menu where you select the binding style).
- A menu item located in the drop down menu that is just below Orientation.
7. Click the Paper Type/Quality menu item, and ensure that these settings are correct for the media being printed on.
8. Click Print.

Right - sort of.
You do need a wireless card to connect to a wireless router. However your Mac already has built-in wireless (almost every iMac does, only the original from 1998 didn't) so you're good to go - you don't need any extras.

As mentioned above, if you slide to power off you're alarm will not work. The same would happen if you took the batteries out of an alarm clock.
The reason other phones can do it when 'turned off' is because they are not turned off. Unless you take the battery out, other phones are always on to communicate their location to the host network.

You will need a OS X license of Photoshop, you would need to speak to Adobe about transfering your Windows license to OS X and also about the captiblity of it's data. Finally 8GB is OK, however if you are going for a 21.5" imac then get 16GB because the RAM is NOT upgradeable on teh 21.5" models. If you are buying a 27" buy the 8GB model and you can easily upgrade the RAM yourself up to 32 GB. Reliable vendors for 2013 27" iMac's are OWC (www.macsales.com) and Crucial.

Where does the built-in dictionary download from for iPad?

My school has just upgraded their internet connection because we have gone to a computing school, using iPads. Some of the students can't access the dictionary, simply because it is not downloaded, but the dictionary won't download. We think it is our firewall, because it won't download/install via our internet, but it will download/install when I use the internet sharing on my phone (using my 4G network).
Our tech guy says he will need the URL for the dictionary download in order to clear any issues with the firewall.
Apps and other things download/upload and install fine, it's just the dictionary that won't do it.

Some of the iPads do not have a dictionary despite having 6.1.3. When we hit define define, it says that there is no dictionary present, we hit the download button, but it never downloads.
I'm not sure if anyone is currently having the problem right now, so I can't get you an error screenshot, but there was 2 or 3 people that had this problem that I had to download the dictionary using the 4G network sharing on my phone, because it wouldn't download using the school's network.
