Assuming you have a mid-2013 MacBook Air running OS X 10.8.5, this is a known issue.  See:

    Other is the measure of used space on the iPod not taken up by Audio, Video & Photos. This includes the iPod's library and artwork plus any files you may have copied to your iPod in disk mode. The overhead for the library & artwork data is typically 1-2% of the size of the media, e.g. for 1Gb of Audio & Video expect to have around 15mb of Other. This information is needed for the iPod's operation and cannot be removed.
    If you have significantly larger amounts of Other, not related to files you've intentionally placed on the iPod, then these are probably disconnected copies of your media files or iPod libraries left over from failed sync operations. The only way to recover the space is to do a full restore.
    If you have copies of all your media in your iTunes library this isn't a problem, but if you've been manually managing the content then you might need to try to recover the files from it first. See this post by Zevoneer on transferring files from the iPod to your computer. Some of the tools rely on the iPod having a healthy library however the manual method mentioned towards the end of the post should work regardless.
    Note restoring should clear all files from the iPod's drive however sometimes it doesn't actually seem to work. Options include manually deleting all visible & hidden files & folders via Explorer/Finder or formatting the drive.
    When repopulating the drive you may find breaking the process up into smaller stages makes it less likely to fail.
    Break up large transfers
    In iTunes select the menu item File... New Smart Playlist. Change the first drop-down box to Playlist, the next to is and the next to Music or whatever playlist holds the bulk of the content you want on your device. Tick against Limit to, type in say 10, then change the drop-down to GB, and set the last drop-down to artist. When you click OK you can enter a name for the playlist, e.g. Transfer. Now sync this playlist to your iPod rather than your entire library. When the sync is complete modify the rule (File... Edit playlist) to increase the size by your chosen amount, then sync and repeat. You can experiment with different size increments, if it doesn't work just choose something a bit smaller until it works each time. Before long you should have all your music on your iPod. Once that's done you can move on to other media such as podcasts, videos, photos, playlists etc.

    unless i'm missing something, i think you got mixed up, this is easy google for walk throughs
    i'm assuming this is the new 3tb tc AC or 'tower' shape, if so, its wifi will run circles around your at&t device
    unplug the at&t box for a minute and plug it back in
    factory reset your tc - unplug it, hold down reset and keep holding while you plug it back in - only release reset when amber light flashes in 10-20s
    connect the tc to your at&t box via eth in the wan port, wait 1 minute, open airport utility look in 'other wifi devices' to setup the tc
    create a new wifi network (give it a different name than your at&t one) and put the tc in bridge mode (it may do this automatically for you, but you should double check) under the 'network' tab
    login to your at&t router and disable wifi on it
    add new clients to the new wifi network, and point your Macs to the time machine for backups

  • Does the Autosave works in Excel , if not how to make it work in my program

    I am trying to autosave my excel file , my program is dumping data every minute and I am going to run my program for about 8 hours. I wanted a method where my file would be autosave. I can do this in Excel by selecting autosave. Has anyone used it before and how good is it or should I try to save it in my program. I am using LV 6.0 and using ActiveX method for Excel. Thank you.

    You may find it easier to programmatically call the Save method on your workbook to replicate the Autosave feature in Excel.
    The problems that you are experiencing may be down to the fact that the Autosave feature is an Excel Add In module and as such needs to be treated in a slightly different manner. In order to get access to the Add In, you need to manual load/install the necessary Add In when you open the ActiveX reference to Excel.
    In Excel 97, the tree is as follows:
    Application >> AddIns (Object & Collection) >> AddIn (Object)
    From here you can Add a new AddIn but must set its Installed property to True in order for it to be "fully installed". The (VBA) help file included with your release of Excel will provide further assistance in navi
    gating through to the appropriate methods and properties and more specific information regarding the loading and proper installation of Add Ins.
    Personally, however, experience has shown that it is far simpler to just manually save the workbook using the SaveAs/Save methods as and when required.

    Not really possible in general
    a book is simply entries in the iPhoto database and to transfer it you must transfer the entire iPhoto database
    You could preview it and send the resulting PDF but typically that is VERY large

    That site has enough information on it to make your head spin. I may be wrong about this but - I want to correct something .....
    The way that I understand that iCloud works  - if you want to share content with iCloud using different devices - you must be using the same iCloud.com account. Using the same iTunes account lets you share purchased content - you must both use the same iCloud account to sync across your Mac, iPad, etc and her PC.
    If you both use different iCloud.com accounts, you can't sync across devices. You can't heave separate calendars either. You have to be sharing the same calendar as well.
    But you can read the information on the support site and check that out for yourself.

    The products are different, as you are talking about using two different operating systems, OS X and iOS. Each version of pages only operates on the operating system it was designed for.

    Yes, that is correct.
    I did not manually add this button, so I am assuming it was somehow automatically created.
    It worked great up until now that I need to change the "To:" email address.
    I've look through the XML code associated this this email address and changed it every where I could find it, but it still hasn't changed my results.  So, I have no idea how to change this and as stated above, if I create a new form it automatically sets it up to be sent to the wrong email address.  Not sure why or how to change it?

    I downloaded a new XANTREX driver and used it to control our new XHR
    150-7 power supply. I tried to use the GET STRAT.vi to control the
    output of the power supply. The output could be controlled according to
    the command input. However, there is always an ERROR 5 message poped
    out whenever it ran. The error source seemed to be in the DELAY &
    READ.vi.

    Exactly which driver did you downlaod and from where? By "GET STRAT", do you mean one of the Getting Started VIs? Error 5 means "NI-488:  Command requires GPIB Controller to be System Controller." Are you using GPIB to control the instrument? If so, what type of board are you using and which version of VISA and NI-488? If the error only occurs on a read, try issuing the query from MAX and see if the error occurs there. In a couple of the Xantrex drivers I looked at, there seemed to be some fixed delays after a write and before a read. You might try increasing those values to see if that makes any difference.
