Does the composite AV cable work for iPad2?
I could not get a "yeah" from anywhere of the HK reseller/dealer nor HK online store for the Composite AV cable supporting iPad2...whilst it is stated compatible at US & UK Apple online stores...so, is there any driver/version compatibility issue for those sold in HK? Anyone helps with the intell before I buy one. Thanks...
Thanks guys...it really gets to the situation that I may need to have 3 different cables for different purposes, composite for my analog in-car LCD player, hdmi for my home HDTV, and one for VGA projector at work. All these unfortunately come by different interfaces from different production time. I hope I can get some all-in-one converter or some sort that I don't have to spend big bucks buying 3 Apple cables but probably the newest hdmi. Researching is still in progress...

Why won't the Apple Composite AV Cable work with ipad2?
I got the Apple Composite AV Cable for our iPad2 but it does not seem to work. The cable does not work with either our iPad2 or the iPod Touch 2G. Ironically, the cord *does* work with our ancient iPod 80GB Classic.
The iPad does not show settings for PAL or NTSC or any other settings I could possibly change to try and get the video out to work. What am I missing?
IPod Touch is set for NTSC and Widescreen has been tried both off and on with no video shown on the TV.
The videos do still show on the iPod/iPad screens while playing.Apparently the answer is no? I guess for me this is the #1 reason to not buy an iPhone 5. I switched to the iPhone specifically for the component (RCA) cable with charging capabilities for my car audio / nav needs. Android did not have a good solution and Apple did. I am sure there are a hand full of folks who bought the Pioneer App radio who are stuck as well. Apple needs to make an airplay to component adapter or a cable for the iPhone 5. Newsflash I am not switching my head unit out for a new phone. Don’t get me wrong I love air play and own an apple TV but hotel rooms, cars, boats and points of usage not going to have air play in all instances. Even if a cable comes out the “digital” port seems telling that component is going away. Time will tell.

Does the LAN port really work for wired internet?
Ok. So I've seen this question asked, but nobody ever seems to come back and say "great, it worked!". If I have my AEBS connected to my DSL modem via the WAN port, Set up with my PPPOE info and set to distribute IP addressess and WDS on, can it also distribute to my desktop via the LAN port. I've seen many yeses, but I can't get it to work. The iMac also has an Airport card, and both it and my MAcBook can get to the internet fine. Also, if I set up the iMac for ethernet and connect it directly to the DSL modem (with the PPOE info in the iMac), it can also connect no problem. However, if I set the iMac up for ethernet and to get it's info via DHCP, and connect it to the AEBS LAN port, it doesn't even show an ethernet cable is connected. This leads me to believe that the LAN port is disabled in whatever config I have going with the AEBS. Any help would be great. Thanks.
FYI, after further testing, it appears my port is loose? If I hold the cable and press firmly into the LAN port, I get a connection. if I let go of the cable, I lose it. So, if I bend the cable under the unit and scotch tape it in place... no problem. It is a refurb unit. Oh well.

Does the Target Audiences setting work for Content Search Web Part Snippets?
I am attempting to create a page layout in SharePoint 2013 that contains a Content Search Web Part snippet.
I only want the CS Web Part to appear for certain users in a defined SP Group.
I set the Target Audience property during the generation of the snippet.
Unfortunately, the target audience property does not affect the appearance of the web part.
It appears all the time, even when the current user is not a member of the named SP group.

You can use the power supply that came with your Mac or one that has a higher wattage, but not one with a lower wattage.
Specifically, in my home we have only 85W power supplies. They work fine with the older 17-inch Macbook Pro, a newer 15-inch Retina Display Macbook Pro, and with my daughter's Macbook Air 13-inch (which came with a 45-watt power supply that she leaves in her dorm room because she knows she can use these 85-watt ones when she visits).
The older style power supplies' magsafe plug can charge the older laptops as well as the newer Retina Display computers, but for the Retina Display laptops, you must use the small magsafe adaptor/converter along with the older style power supply.
I don't know of a way to use the newer power supplies that came with Retina Display laptops on an older laptop that accepts the older style magsafe adaptor.
If your original question was whether a power supply for a Retina Display computer can be used to charge a non-Retina Display 13-inch Macbook Pro, then I think the answer is NO because the Retina Display Macs use a different magsafe plug that won't fit into the slot for the 13-inch non-Retina laptop. The older power supplies CAN be used with the new Retina laptops because there is an adaptor one can get to allow the old magsafe plug to fit into the new Retina laptop. -

No, the bluetooth profile in the iPad does not provide that
capacity. Can your netbook be a wifi transmitter? If yes,
you can connect to the internet via htc-phone and pass
the connection to the netbook which will connect via wifi
to iPad. I am not familiar with the hardware in netbooks nor
the capabilities of Windows, so what I am suggesting looks
good in theory but the reality may not allow it. Still worth

I have an Excursion and it has the red,yellow,and white aux outlet and I went to the Apple store and bought the composite AV cable plugged it in and the audio works but the video does not and the manual says that I have to tell the ipad to send the video to the t.v.,projector but I can not find where that function on the ipad. Does the iPod Universal Dock work with the Apple Component AV Cable?
I have the iPod Universal Dock (MA045G/A) and the Apple Component AV Cable (MB128LL/B)...the ones in the original black packaging.
I had wanted to connect either my Nano 3G or my iTouch 1G to my TV, but neither would work through the docking station with the AV cable. Both did work when I tried not using the dock and connected both the Nano and the iTouch directly into the AV Cable.
My dock works great on my Computer, and I tried a second dock (same model) that I had into the TV with the AV cable and it still did not see the connection.
Is my particular iPod Universal Dock NOT COMPATIBLE with this Apple Component AV Cable (or for that matter, the Composite AV Cable-MB129LL/B)?
It's not a big deal since both do work with the AV cable by itself...it's just annoying I can't use the dock...Are you sure it is genuine Apple cable? If you bought it on eBay or non-authorized Apple dealer it probably isn't. If it is a genuine cable, it is defective, and should be returned.
When a working genuine Apple A/V cable is plugged into iPhone, a popup appears asking if you want to enable the TV output. Since you are not getting this popup, your cable is bad. -

Yes, but possibly limited to coverage of Skyhook database..
Applications that use location services also use the data from Skyhook...
Skyhook is a service that records the MAC addresses of Cell Base stations/towers and wireless access points.
Google Maps vehicles records the wireless AP data at the same time they get street view images.
There was some controversy over this - but they effectively record the location and the MAC address of any AP they find as they drive round. This gets sent to a massive database at Skyhook and is used to either locate without GPS or enhance/aid the GPS information. It's also why the location is always the road outside!
If your location/MAC relationship has not been mapped by Skyhook, Google or others - then the good news is that you can add it - although it can take a month or two at least - to work. The reason is that it depends which database is being used by Skyhook's clients..
