Does the DAQmx drivers include LVRun-Time Engine?

Does the DAQmx drivers include LVRun-Time Engine?
1. I first installed LVRun-Time Engine 7.1.1 on a new PC.
2. Then i ran the installer once again and selected remove to uninstall the program.
3. Next I installed DAQmx drivers 8.0.1
4. After this I tried to run my compiled labview.exe and it works fine(!)
When I look in control panel - add/remove programs and select National Instruments software and press change, I can see that NI LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 7.1.1 is installed.
Now why would version 7.1.1 be included in DAQmx 8.0.1?
Question1: Was perhaps the LVRTE install refreshed by the DAQmx install?
Question2: Is it not possible to completely remove installed software with the regular uninstall? I am trying to verify the install procedure as it will be on a fresh PC.

The run-time engine is included with DAQmx. If you look at the distribution, there is a Products folder that has it. My guess is that it's included for something like VI Logger or even the test panels in MAX.

  • How does the DAQmx read.vi work in producer/consumer mode

    Dear all,
I have one question: how does the DAQmx read.vi work in producer/consumer mode ?
I mean if i set the acquisition samples quantity is 5000,(see the enclosed picture), how does the DAQmx read.vi acquire the samples ?
    5000 samples one time ?
And how does the write. vi work ? Also 5000 samples one time ?
    Look forward to your reply.
    Thank you.

It will read 5000 samples per channel.
The Write Measurement File just writes whatever you give it.  It you send it 5000 data points, it will write the 5000 data points.

just want to know if its possible to create the installer for win98
because aparrently if you clic on the tab advanced in the installer
properties you can only choose to build it for windows 2000 at least.
I guess it is not possible so Is there anonther way to do that?
    thanks in advance
    Olivier
LabVIEW 8 is only supported for Win2000 and XP. If you need Win98 support you need to stay with LabVIEW 7.x.

  • I am an educator does the creative cloud include presenter and captivate?

I am an educator does the creative cloud include access presenter and captivate?  Currently have licences for CS4, e-learning suite and Lightroom 5.  Becoming a deal breaker as department wants me to move to Storyline.

It might seem like that but really the Cloud contains the same as the Master Collection in the perpetually licensed days - which has never included Presenter nor Captivate.
Are there any plans to integrate these in further editions?
I don't work for Adobe and Adobe never reveals their future plans before they have something just about ready to ship.
However I would be surprised if they do include these titles in the Cloud any time soon.

How so? It has a new coat of paint, Apple sells it as "New" and everyone thinks it is an "improvement"?

  • Why does the aol desktop crash every time I try to use it

Why does the aol desktop crash every time I try to use it and how can I fix the problem.

I am having exactly the same problem with my iPhone 4 (running 6.0.1 (10A523)). I have rebooted several times since this started occurring but it doesn't change the behavior. It was also reporting a "storage almost full" error quite often when I still have 1GB - 3GB of free space. As a troubleshooting exercise I removed all my music so there is now 20.1GB free. The storage warning no longer appears but the same issue still persists with reminders. Help, please!

  • What's the cost of Labwindows run time engine

    Dear Sir,
I have some questions about CVI and hope you can help me figure it out as usual.
1st, what's the advantage of labwindows against Labview? I know one is C programing environment and the other graphical environment. But the Labview seems more user-friendly.
2nd, What is run-time engine according to your definition? I know Matlab has similar component and is free of charge. Does the run time engine in Labwindows charge? If so, how much?
3rd, Previously, I thought labwindows is used to convert Labview program into C source code which is faster (how fast, compared with labview) and very popular in the industries, so companies do not have to buy labview and run it for just simple application in the field. But if the run time engine costs a lot, I can find no reason to use labwindows.
    Thank you very much!

    1) LabVIEW is a graphical based programming environment and
LabWindows/CVI is a C based programming environment.  Both can be used
for similar tasks.  Users familiar with C may prefer CVI.  LabVIEW is
typically easier to learn if you are unfamiliar with both.
     2)
The Run-Time Engine is a separate component that can be installed to
execute LabWindows/CVI programs and LabVIEW programs.  It is free of
charge for both LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI.
    3)
LabWindows/CVI does not convert any LabVIEW programs into C code.
LabVIEW programs are already compiled as you write them, so you won't
need to convert them to C to use them.  You should see similar
performance in similar LabVIEW and CVI code.

  • Does the Airport Extreme work w/Time Capsule (as prior info. said?)

Seems to me that any person contemplating the purchase of a new Airport Extreme should at least be able to see both what it is and is not capable of doing... Time Machine does not support a properly mounted Airport Extreme disk. Period. Unless this is the darker side of the product-- or lest this technical incompatibility is found to be "inappropriate" subject matter, I see no reason why this is not a valid technical question to be answered by Apple.
Why does the AE not fully support the feature-set of Leopard? Time Machine incompatibility is a serious and costly issue for all of us who bought AE's just weeks prior to Leopard's release...
Apple did indeed state (prior to release), that Leopard and Time Machine would fully support the Airport Extreme's disk-mounting feature. This is no longer the case, however, and it seems that Apple simply does not want this subject to be brought to light... This is a technical problem that can (and should) be solved via new software for the AE, or within Leopard itself.
I have been told to "call Customer Relations about this instead"-- however, no phone number was provided. In my experience, that department has proven to be incredibly difficult to connect with via Tech. Support. Why can't this issue be addressed here? Technical. Software. Hardware. Leopard.

    Kevin Brening wrote:
Just because this issue can't be solved, does not justify pulling the post from this forum-- as this information is vital to absolutely anyone who is contemplating the purchase of an Airport Extreme.
Actually it does. If you rant about a feature missing or spam the forum (which you did both) it will be removed. Read the Terms of Use you agreed to when you signed up:

+2) Be polite. Everyone should feel comfortable reading Submissions and participating in discussions. Apple will not tolerate flames or other inappropriate statements, material, or links. Most often, a "flame" is simply a statement that is taunting and thus arbitrarily inflammatory. However, this also includes those which are libelous, defamatory, indecent, harmful, harassing, intimidating, threatening, hateful, objectionable, discriminatory, abusive, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or offensive in a sexual, racial, cultural, or ethnic context.+
+3) Post constructive comments and questions. Unless otherwise noted, your Submission should either be a technical support question or a technical support answer. If your Submission contains the phrase “I’m sorry for the rant, but…” you are likely in violation of this policy.+
This is a technical incompatibility, and as such, has a valid place in this forum.
Not really. Its a missing feature, not an incompatibility. Incompatibilities are things that a product should be able to do but can not due to conflicts. The AEBS was never compatible with the retail version of Time Machine, nor was it every said to be compatible with the retail version so its is a missing feature.

  • Is the Sites folder included in Time Machine backups?

I've learned the hard way that not everything is included in a Time Machine backup.  For example, if you have iPhoto open, a backup will not be made of the photos.  Now that I'm developing websites and storing them in the Sites folder, is it safe to assume that they are being backed up by Time Machine?
    Thanks!

Are documents in iCloud Drive included in Time machine backups
Yes, they are, and the current Yosemite version 10.10.2 makes it easy to find them in Time Machine. Just select iCloud Drive in the Finder, before you enter Time Machine to restore documents.  Time Machine backs up the local shadow copies of your iCloud Drive documents, that are stored in your hidden user library.

  • What exactly does the contrast ratio and response time mean?

Recently I have been browsing for external monitors and I noticed that two of the specifications for monitors are a contrast ratio and response time.
What does a contrast ratio mean? What does the response time mean? Is the response time the same as the frequency refresh rate (ie. 75 Hz)?
I was looking at the Thunderbolt Display specs and it has a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a response time of 13ms, but another LED monitor that costs 1/3 the price has a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 and response time of 5ms. The resolution of the display does not matter too much for me. Would the cheaper monitor be a better choice for me if I play to mostly use the display for gaming/photo editing?

    You're welcome.
Would the cheaper monitor be a better choice for me if I play to mostly use the display for gaming/photo editing?
You can problem find lots of decent monitors with short response times for gaming.  But I think (and this is just a guess, no basis in fact) that a decent monitor for photo editing may not be cheap and of course response time doesn't much matter so it may not make a good game monitor (depending on the kind of games you like to play of course -- angry birds would play on anything).
Also another thing to keep in mind are the two schools of thoughts on glossy monitors like the current 27" Apple monitors vs. non-glossy (anti-reflective) monitors.  It's like religiion,  And one group is not going to convience the other which is "better".  It's a matter of taste I think.  There's even a thread on this topic in these forums:
Why is Apple insisting on Glossy Displays?
I'm only mentioning this because if you want to do some photo editing there are some folks who do that stuff and claim they don't like glossy displays.

  • Does the iPad get slower with time?

i have an iPad 4 for over a year. Does the iPad get slower with the passage of time or because of small amount of available?

As with any piece of electronics, the more stuff you get on there, the more clutter and the more 'junk' (not meaning offensively, just junk as extra files, fragmented files, etc) that it has to run through.
If you think it's getting too slow, you can fully back it up, then reset your iPad back to factory settings (erase all content and settings) and then restore from that backup.
It's not impossible, just something to do carefully because if you haven't backed everything up correctly, you will lose it. (content and apps from iTunes can always be redownloaded but content made on your iPad can be deleted if not backed up)
I've had my iPad 2 for almost three years now and really haven't noticed a major decline in function. So unless you see something drastic, I really wouldn't worry about it.
