Does the Downloadable 9.2.1 Update Include the Language Kit?

I have 9.1 installed with the language kit (foreign language input support). I would like to update it to 9.2.1. I just want to know whether the downloaded 9.2.1 update from Apple includes the language kit. Apple says that the update from 9.0 to 9.1 must be installed from the 9.1 CD since the language kit included with 9.0 is not compatible with 9.1 and the downloaded 9.1 update does not include the language kit. However, I cannot find any imformation regarding the update of 9.1 to 9.2 with the language kit.

Your question has nothing to do with your hardware, so it would be better to repost it in the forum for OS 9 questions:

I've fixed this problem several times by downloading older versions of Safari, but EVERY time my computer updates, I have to manually download and install an old version and it's getting really tedious.
I only use Software Update to see what is needed, then get them for real via...

That way I can wait a week or so, check the forums for potential problems, and get Permissions & such in order before installing.

  • Does iWork 09 9.0.2 update include iWork 09 9.0.1 update?

System Requirements for iWork 09 9.0.2 update says only "Mac OS X 10.4.11, Mac OS X 10.5.6 and later", no mention of what version of iWork is required. iWork 09 9.0.2 update pkg is 45.5MB, but apparently all it does is "improves reliability when saving some iWork documents and when playing some presentations more than once per Keynote session." So I'm wondering if it also includes the 9.0.1 update. Has anyone tried installing it over the original iWork 09, without installing the 9.0.1 update first? Can I dump the 9.0.1 update dmg?

Not really. It requires deleting all versions and reinstalling from scratch, experimenting with each set of possible combinations.
Imagine doing that for every application on your Mac!
Even then you could never be sure that it tolerated an upgrade because the uninstall had still left some necessary files on the Mac.
Nevertheless, because I am forced to cope with such poor information, I tag updates with the version numbers they lack and the order in which they must be done. If I know them.
The problem with any such arrangement is that it is my personal resource and in some cases I have completely changed cryptic names so they no longer match the originals. If anyone else goes back to source for the original upgrades, it is back to scratch.

  • In Tools:Options:Languages, does the language on a page have preference?

The Pop-Up Window is not clear about this, and assumes I already know the answer.

That setting (pref: intl.accept_languages) is send to the web server as part of the HTTP response header and it is up to that web server to decide whether to use that data and present the site in the first language in that string. A server can decide not to honor that choice and ignore it.

  • Does the Pages update include linking text boxes?

Does the Pages update include linking text boxes? This was a great feature in the previous iWork: Pages version.

I agree. The latest version of Pages is marketed as a huge leap forward, and indeed it probably is...
How so? It has a new coat of paint, Apple sells it as "New" and everyone thinks it is an "improvement"?
How on earth can you not notice or ignore what is so obviously wrong with it?

  • Why does the iTunes 10.4.1 update take me to Apple's download webpage instead of the usual Safari/Quicktime dialog box?

Why does the iTunes 10.4.1 update take me to to Apple's download webpage (to download a full version of iTunes) instead of the usual Safari/Quicktime pop-up/dialog box where I usually perform the updates?

iTunes 10.4 and Safari 5.1 contain more than 'just' the OSX Lion-release but stability and security improvements as well.
For example, here is http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1070 what the Safari 5.1 contains.
In here http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/ I can't find an "end-date" for the download of the Lion installer.
Nonetheless, personaly I would download the Lion installer and then copy it (from your Apllications folder) to a secure place (backup harddisk, external hardisk etc.).
When your IT gives it a go you can then use te Lion installer from inside the Applications folder, but I would also say to make a bootable clone of your current OSX Snow Leopard before starting the Lion installation.

The path C:\users\owner\appdata\local\apple\apple software update\bonjour64.msi cannot be found. verify that you have access to this location and try again or try to find the installation package "bonjour64.msi" in a folder from which you can install the product bonjour.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on 25 June 2010. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Common on jailbroken iPhones, not so on non-jailbroken iPhones. Thus, if your phone is not jailbroken, restoring from backup will hopefully fix the issue.

  • Does the Reader 10.1.4 update include garbage?

On my last update of Adobe Flash Player, it installed Google Chrome and the Google toolbar without asking me if I wanted them.  I don't want to update Reader unless I know it's not going to install any other garbage.  Does the update for Reader 10.1.4 include any dirty surprises?

The full offline installer does not include any "optional" extras:

Apple isnt here. this is a user based forum for technical questions. The solution is to restart, reset, and restore as new which is in the manual after that get it replaced for hard ware failure. if your within your one year warranty its replaced if it is out of the warranty then it is 199$
